TFTC we wouldve enjoyed the swim if there was any water around and the day was a bit warmer!
A great photo of the Old Pool and shelter in the gallery when it was a new pool. It must have been an oasis in the heat of a Mt Magnet summer and a fun place to be. And it was into the now sad oasis we went to look for the cache. This pool had some good depth! A sneaky little hide that could easily be missed.. I think we were lucky to find it so quickly. TFTC boyfromthebush.
Dived into this search, didn't manage to cool down, but did find a cache. Neat hide and good insight into the past. Tftc
We had stopped in town and were deciding what to do the next few days. As we were not sure if we would return tomorrow I decided to walk over and grab this one. After a bit of searching I located this one. Thanks for the hide
In town for a quick trip. Saw the D rating and fav pts so headed over. Interesting sight. Drived in and saw the tel tale sign of a hid and extracted the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Day 11 of the road trip was spent in Mount Magnet, and this morning I headed out after breakfast to explore the tourist drive I probably wouldn't have done this without geocaching, yet it was really good fun with some awesome locations. This was another one I really enjoyed. No water here now, dry as a bone. Wasn't having much luck from the side so walked around and took a dive in. That helped, but the sneaky hide still took a bit of finding. Very nicely done, and not what I was expecting at all. Have another fave point All ok here today - TFTC
Today's geocaching adventures took us around the tourist loop behind Mt Magnet. Beautiful day today, weather is warming up a bit again. First stop for the day was the Old Pool. Amazing that it is still visible. Has a heap of water from previous rains. Cache was found easily enough with good coordinates. Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
This was an interesting place to explore. Loved the hide.
Thanks boyfromthebush for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Initially over thinking the hunt it turned out to be a nice quick find. Out and about on our 5th day of a nine day adventure TFTC
While waiting for a job to be done to our van searched for some of the local caches we didn’t do last year. This took a bit of finding. Well hidden and needed a tool to extract from its hidey hole. Interesting place. Thanks for bringing us here.
Grabbing a few caches while around Mt Magnet.

Find 10 of 23 on day 2 roadtripping through central WA from a remote station south of Yalgoo, through to Cue.
I am sure this place was a real treat back in the day. Looks a bit sad now. Having read the logs we knew one of us would have to tread water and soon the log sheet was poked out of its hole. We have stuck it into a black bison with its keyring removed so that it could pass more easily.
TFTC boyfromthebush!

Found it. TFTC boy and girlfromthebush. Wasn’t much to choose from so I concentrated on that. Even then, it took me a while. Log only. Replaced as found.
Adding some Mt Magnet caches to our collection before we hit the road again for Marble Bar. We made the short walk to gz and the first issue was which level, so one of stayed high and the other went low. I was expecting this one to take awhile but Leega quickly made the call but with a hitch. She had her hands on the log but no container. The names on the log matched up so we signed our names to it. It’s always nice to do a welfare check on one that hasn’t been found for awhile. Unfortunately we didn’t have a container on us that we could use, so you might have to check on this one. TFTC boyfromthebush and girlfromthe bush.
Baldivis to Marble Bar with axell33 and adding some Mt Magnet smilies to our map. We walked to gz and pondered our position, I jumped in and axell33 took to top. We were drawn to a certain spot so when I went to it I was surprised to see it there! Unfortunately/fortunately all I found was the log hiding away. I wish we were able to replace the container, so all I could do was to put ack as safely as I could. Great piece of history here. It certainly would have been the place to be in its day! Thanks for the visit and cache.
Really liked this hide. Favourite point added
Overnighted in the Mt Magnet caravan park then hit the tourist drive caches. Had a wonderful morning exploring Lennonville’s history.

Out for a morning run while staying in Mount Magnet and was fascinated to see this location. It didn't take too long to spot the tricky hide while exploring the pool. It does seem a bit out of town though.

We are heading up north to see some of the wonderful sights our great State has, the amazing scenery, the interesting history, the local characters, it's wonderful to see this part of Australia through the eyes of the local Geocachers.
We called into this hidden little gem of a spot, all the fun and laughter that used to go on here in the old days.
We found your cache very tucked away neatly, and with signing duties done and dusted, we replaced the cache as found.
Thanks for sharing this interesting spot.

We were caching on our way to Geraldton. And after having a lovely breakfast at Gem’s Diner we decided to have another look for this one as it had previously escaped us when the GPSr gods were not on our side. We pulled up and GZ and were instantly more confident that we were in the right place. After walking around the edges we dove in and the cache was quickly located and our name added to the log.
Thanks boyfromthebush, girlfromthebush for the bringing us to this bygone hub of activity that would have been huge in its day.

Hi there boyfromthebush.
We found your cache **"Old Pool"** today. (This makes our find count 22684).
Today we headed out from Mount Magnet to cache along the Historic Tourist Drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our interesting trek around the local area & found 13 caches today & DNF'd 1.
Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards

This was a surprise to us to find such a big, now unused, swimming pool.
Whoever built it must have spent many hours making concrete to provide
a cool place for the residents of Mt Magnet. We are not sure as to what
the other structure nearby was used for but it is surprising to see it still
standing. And what was the pipe and ladder across the centre of the pool
used for?
This was our 14th for the day and now we are exhausted and off to the
Caravan Park for 5 o'clock drinks.....

Day ten of our 'loop tour' checking out the wildflowers and picking up caches along the way. We had twenty four caches on our list today and very happy that we found them all. We knew we were in for a good day when we revealed this hide and saw the calibre of concealment. I sorted this one while geo-hubby was looking elsewhere. Thanks to CO's
This was a good hide had me going around in circles for a little while, then read a couple of the previous logs and found the cache.

pug002 found it 4/8/2018 on our way up north geocaching. Went to it and it started to pour, so went back to the caravan park and when it fined up off we went. Sneaky, sneaky, would give you four favourites if we could. TFTC boyfromthebush
Arrived in town late in the morning and after checking in to the caravan park [a rare luxury for us] we headed off on the bikes to grab a few caches.
This one was the first one we tackled and was a frustrating start to the day.
We checked this spot so many times and came up empty handed but we were running out of options and after reading previous logs we checked the possibilities again and this time came up with the goods.
The logs about being 2 metres out really helped.
Thanks.

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 36. The rain had passed at last so travel and caching continued. I headed from Northampton inland to near Sandstone via Mullewa, Yalgoo and Mount Magnet.
The places out seemed to like their pools. The cache was in an interesting place and I got to have a good look around.
Thanks.

This trip through the Goldfields has been a while in the planning and the main mission was to collect caches in at least another 8 Local Government Areas to qualify for a challenge cache recently set up by megawatt60! I didn’t really have a plan on where I would be sleeping and was happy to throw the swag down once the daylight became in short supply. From Kalgoorlie I headed north as far as Leinster with a few deviations along the way. I then headed west through Mt Magnet and then meandered my way back towards Perth. I had GC and GCA caches lined up and tried to grab as many as I could while passing by. Cheers to all the CO’s for the hides and hopefully I can head back one day soon to clean up the caches I wasn’t able to find on this trip. TFTC

Clean up Australia Day was a bit late here in the mount. But we extended it out to a mini cito . Hope the illegal dumping stops but in the mean time, happy caching
After having a great time in Karijini it's time to go back south-westwards to Perth! We plannend 2 days of long driving. Part I is from Karijini to Meekatharra (today). Part II from Meekatharra to York! Were we have planned 3 nights for exploring the Avon Valley! Of course we logged some caches to make the long way back enjoyable. Some caches were on beautiful spots. Thanks again to all the co's for placing!
Greetings from the far Belgium!
**Individual log:**
Didn't have the time for searching long because we had to arrive at York before sunset! But thanks for showing this pool....

I really love geocaching when it leads to spots and things that one may not usually spot, this was one of them. We had fun finding this one, both GPS's told us Ian should get in at the deep end. ha ha.. Turned out he didn't need to but hey, at least he didn't get wet in the attempt.
This must have been a hive of activity back in Mt Magnets hay day - a cool place to take a dip on a hot summers day.

Headed out to Mount magnet for some geocaching fun as we head to Sandstone for a Midwest Museums Chapter meeting at the weekend, so it was a good opportunity to spend a day in MM to pick up some caches. As it goes, we happened to meet up with team pathfinder on our travels. TFTC. SL.
Found while on a short stop over in MT Magnet to pick up some smiley around the area. A bit of a search in the obvious spot was required. Came up with the goods after doing some scratching around. TFTC.
After camping in the area for the night we went on the hunt again today for caches located at points of interest. This was a really good run with so much to see and to learn. The cache itself was a nice tricky one to find. Loved it ! All duties were completed before we moved on. Thank you to boyfromthebush, for bringing us here. Giving this one a favourite point for it being a very sneaky hide.
Slowly making my way north on my annual migration to follow the sun. I have decided to do the inland route this year rather than the coast road, so that I can collect all the smiley's along the way. I am camping tonight near Mount Magnet and took the opportunity to pick up this mini power-trail this afternoon. This one took a while, what a sneaky hide! but eventually to hand. TFTC bftb
Day ten and eleven of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!
Day 9 We travelled from Newman to Mount Magnet via Meekatharra, Wiluna, sandstone, cue and many a place in between to pickup a couple of harder to reach LGAs and get numbers up for the trip.
We were lucky enough to pickup four FTFs in Meekatharra that had managed to go unfound for a reasonable time so we nabbed all of them. A nice little stat to add to the list.
We made some large scale detours to Wiluna and Sandstone to pickup two more LGAs that are a little hard to pickup from our Perth homebase.
We racked up over 1000km for the day and finished up grabbing caches along the mount magnet tourist drive by torchlight to end an epic day.
Day ten saw us up at 5am to cleanup the granites series of caches, before making the 600 plus kilometre journey back to our home of Perth.
Overall it's been a huge trip with 200plus caches found, a dozen or so LGAs picked up, 6500km travelled, 11 days of non-stop caching and tourist activities, 6 FTFs, countless containers fixed, logs replaced, pathtags dropped off.
Thanks to all the COs for their caches which made the trip possible.

Headed back up to Geraldton for another caching run (third time this year). We started off by picking up as many caches as we could in the wheatbelt on the first day before arriving in Geraldton. The next day we headed up to port Gregory and Kalbarri and the highlight of the day would have to be be the pink lakes in port Gregory. Day 3 saw us caching in Geraldton picking up some we missed last time and clearing up a few of our DNFS here before adding some more DNFS to the list. Day 4 we headed off to mount magnet picking up some caches along the way till we arrived there. I must say the caches in mount magnet were quite tricky to find and it was also a stinking hot day so we didn't get to find all the caches we were hoping to find there. The last day we cached along the coast on the way home. Once again it was stinking hot and we missed doing a lot of the caches we hoped to find plus the flies were driving us crazy but we still got to visit some great places. Most of the caches we looked for we did find and we came across some very sneaky well made cache containers along the way. Thanks to all the CO,s for placing there caches for us and all the other geocachers to find.
This cache took us a while to find but find it we did. It also took a while to retrieve - a FP for your efforts here. SL. Thanks to boyfromthebush for the cache.

A virtual check of the Earth from above last night revealed where this cache was, and how to get there
So after a fun day of finding caches out to the north,
I headed for the pool.
Wow !! Neat spot
There is one feature of this pool I've never seen on any other pool !! [:o]
What a great idea !!
I'm sure the modern day 'nanny-state' rules would not allow that sort of fun these days
I dove in for a cache find !!
But I was left floundering around in too deep [:o]
There was absolutely ... no way a cache could be hidden where me GPS was pointing.
That didn't stop me looking for a good half hour though
The CO's coordinates have always been spot on !! [^]
I eventually widened me search a bit and still found nothing.
Occam's Razor time !!
And I headed back to a spot I had searched before because the cache had to be there
It was !! [:o]
See !! Works every time [^]
