This one alluded us today but we did only have a quick look as we were with a group of non geocachers anxious to get to our destination.
Took us a little while to find this one, we spotted it before but thought it belonged there. Well hidden, TFTC
Found with Sea eagle on our “mid” adventure through the middle of the state. What could go wrong? SpidermonkeysGrandMums health suddenly declined, 3 out of 4 of us had been sick (not covid luckily but many tests have been required a left the monkey home not well, farina bakery was closed due to covid and was the highlight of the beginning of our trip, the backup battery decided to die. So, we don’t know really how far we can go and taking each day, one at a time.
Overnighted at Port Augusta (just to get out of the house early) , two nights camping at Farina, (frosty!) two camping at coward Springs and then two at William creek (hotel room and a scenic flight) Swagged it at Halligan bay and then off to algebracina bridge and Oodnadatta before Dalhousie springs, mount dare and lamberts centre.
The skies have been amazing at night and the sunsets fantastic. We haven’t been able to find all the caches en route due to the drivers demands but we selected some old and 360 degree from home special ones. Nothing wrong with leaving a few for “next time” either. Photo of one of a few cars seen along the way, 2wds ….
Thank you for placing it for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when required. TFTC

Found with SpidermonkeysMum on our trip along the Old Ghan Railway Heritage Trail from Quorn to Finke, Lamberts Centre then back along the Stuart Highway. Had a great trip, stopping often for caches/coffee/camping. Weather was very sunny during the day, freezing at night but I love a good campfire. Thanks for the reason to stop.
Out with Shumba7 on a road trip through the centre to Birdsville for the Big Red Bash. TFTC
TFTC. Found with Algae ️we are on a road trip from Ballarat to Birdsville, off to the big red bash. Grabbing some smilies along the way in some towns. Saw a squirrel up a tree here…
First stop from Ballarat - Beaufort, Ararat, Great Western, Stawell, Underbool, Murrayville, time travelled and lost all our fruit and veg in the process..…… South Australia - Loxton, Worlds End, Mount Bryan, Orrorro, Parachilna, Coward Springs, William Creek, Oodnadatta, Dalhousie Springs, Mount Dare, Northern Territory - ….. purple and yellow flowers in the dessert….and now onto the next.

A nice quick find here after a lunch stopover at Mt Dare.
This leg of the journey saw us head from Jamestown to Alice via the Oodnadatta Track and Dalhousie Springs. I only found a few of the caches each day as I want to save some for later on when we return.
Highlights was the Farina Bakery, beers at Marree, William Creek and Mt Dare hotels, Peake mining area, fishing at Algebuckina, swimming at Dalhousie (with dingoes howling in the night) and sharing Lamberts with hundreds of mice.. and the caches too!
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
Hurtle, I found Back Door to NT today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

We grabbed this one as we approached the "Plague carriers do not enter or face 14 days jail" sign. We parked under the obvious tall sign to use our 4WD roof rack to access the 4.5T cache. After some furtrher research and a reconsideration of options the reward was found. Doh!
TFTC yet again Hurtle
Found on yet another trip without crossing borders. Like many others overseas trips are on hold. Even interstate is hard to plan. So we are taking the time to explore and re-explore our home state of South Australia.
This trip is take 2 as our first attempt was clobbered 2 days in by a sudden lockdown meaning we had to turn back home again. Two weeks later and the geohounds are back at puppy holiday camp. Our plan is Hummocks Station, Willow Waters Gorge (brilliant!), Farina, and then the Oodnadatta Track to Algebuckina Bridge, then through to Eringa Waterhole and then on to Mt Dare. After that the likely path (assuming the NT border is open) is via Finke to Lambert’s Centre of Australia and then we will turn back south. We may drop into the Painted Desert on the way back and perhaps also take a side trip to see Lake Caddibarrawirracanna. We hope to find a few caches along the way and maybe hide a few as well. We are certainly having fun so far.

Just made it over the border, good spot for a cache. Found with PSGV1, TNLNSL TFTC
Found on our roundabout route to cross the Simpson.
Certainly a road less travelled, We had our COVID paperwork up to date, although there was not an official insight . Didn't spot the cameras until later....
Left NT, Grabbed the cache and back into SA

Nice easy find. Crossed the border yesterday, camped at Mt Dare Hotel and then did a quick double back this morning to find the cache. Heading to Dalhousie for a nice swim now. TFTC ️
This cache is PHYSICALLY south of the PHYSICAL fence dividing SA and NT and well into Witjira NP!
Photo evidence supplied to TWO reviewers at time of publishing, to show the above.
I will change the state listing when someone moves the fence!
Cheers

Yay our 4th state in 2 weeks, well Territory if you want to be technical. Heading to the Lamberts centre today then on to Alice Springs. This is the end of week 2 of our 5 week outback adventure. Tftc
Found with GF07, Hardacres and Zobo04 on our way to the Rock 5 July 2019 1:37 pm Thanks for the CacheHurtle.
Found with Zobo04, Hearse068 and The Hardacres . We are on a little trip from Broken Hill to Cameron Corner to Lyndhurst up the Oodnadatta Track and finally finishing up at Ayres Rock. This is one of the caches we found along the way. Thanks for taking the time to place it. TFTC
Found as part of an extended trip with FeatherWaite, Freddo, Team Waldron and a couple of non-caching friends that saw us travel from Adelaide to Coober Pedy, through the Painted Desert to Oodnadatta, then on to Dalhousie and Mount Dare, before crossing the Simpson Desert to Birdsville and then back down to Adelaide via Marree and the Flinders Ranges.
We had pretty good weather, with moderately warm days and cool nights, but plenty of flies!
It was great to be able to find some remote caches in some really interesting and scenic locations.
According to the coordinates, this cache is well within the Northern Territory! It is also further north than 'Back Door to the NT' (GC6GTDW) and 'What State am I in now' (GC4KKXH) which are both quite correctly listed as being in the NT! The cache page should probably be updated to reflect the correct State/Territory!
Thanks Hurtle for the cache.

Interesting location. But why is it listed in SA when it is 500m north of the border? Definitely in NT.
No signs of a log from datdude22. You can delete that log.
Easter 2020 sees SA hosting the next Easter big event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

A great trip and we even had time for a few caches.

Found in the company of Freddo, e.gregory1, Team Waldron, occasional cacher out of retirement SteadyOn and muggle friend Tony during an awesome trip to the Simpson Desert, staying at Coober Pedy, then camping out at Dalhousie Springs, three nights in the Simpson Desert, Birdsville, Clayton Bore and Aroona Valley. Thanks for the cache Hurtle!
Now just what was Hurtle doing up here. One thing for sure, no one here to check your oranges or potatoes.
Found with H423L on an epic trip up to find Pluto (GCG32B) - the furthest known planet at the time of TeamAstro's solar system inception. There was dust, flies, more dust, no mud and a million stars at night. There were no tyre issues. The geocaching led us to spectacular spots that were out of the way - and a few spots that were popular as it was the school holidays. We cached a few caches with others and it was good to see our friends on the trail.
Thanks to Hurtle and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Luckily in this location there are not too many places to hide a cache. Although it was still found in the final place we looked. TFTC
wow what a rocky road. enjoyed the nearby telegraph station and got to hold a monitor lizard. cool place. tftcsl
Getting out of Mt Dare to escape the bike rally that was heading our way and also to continue my trip North with a couple of muggle friends.
I am able to sneak a couple of caches in here and there so I don’t hold them up to much.
Stopped to take the photo of both states find a cache and continue on our way.
Thanks Hurtling Posties TFTC.

Over the past few weeks a group of us explored the Simpson Desert traversing along the Rig Road, WAA Line, French Line and the Hay River Track. Wow what an adventure we had out in the desert, except for the flies!
A quick drive from Mt Dare and an easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

WHOOPS! I'm logging about 100-200 or so caches like 3 months after the trip that we found them on! Completely forgot to log these but I did not forget the trip! Found this cache along with many others on an adventure around the red centre. Along this adventure we visited and explored many phenomenal and surreal places such as Woomera, Coober Pedy, Uluru and Mutitjulu, Kata Tjuta, Wattarka, Tnorala, Both East and West Macdonnell ranges, Arltunga, Ruby Gap, Palm Valley, Parts of the Finke road, Boggy Hole, Rainbow Valley, Old Ghan Route, Chambers Pillar, Oodnadatta track, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Painted Desert, Moon plane and I'm sure I've missed a few! Thank you so much for the cache. Found with Ferociousflea and -Beaker- along with our mint 79 series that accomplished alot in this two week time frame.

First for the day and it's always good to start with a find .
After breakfast and refueling, it was time to gather a couple of caches on our way back to Dalhousie Springs [8].
A short detour had us at the border . TNLNSL.
Thanks Hurtling Posties.

Todays journey was from Erldunda to Mt Dare Station, and everything in between. Travelling with Micaparamedic, we set sail for here during our days hunt and sightseeing in the Witjira National Park. This really had a very remote feel to it out here, and the country is so flat. I loved this trip, I loved the Track, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Thanks to Hurtling Posties for the hide, and the effort to place this out here.
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks Hurtle for placing this cache.

Yeeha got one for today after a dnf on binns track we drove out to this one after setting up at Mt dare. The Metalworker among us was entrigued with use of magnet on aluminium. Glad to get a border cache. Thanks for placing. Tftc
Our small travelling circus was on our way to Dalhousie via Mt Dare, and after getting the FTF on the front door a week ago, we slipped back in the back door this time for a quick find and sign.
The mud this morning is giving way to a lot of dust this afternoon......cough cough...

Was happy entering through the front door but it is definitely more interesting entering through the back one. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.
So loving exploring this country of ours. Thanks so much for putting a cache out here.
WE came in via the back door to SA; it seemed only right that we get this one as well.

We had just done the back door to SA and drove on around to do this one which was actually on our route. This cache is great as it signifies that we have made it to the Simpson Desert the start of the last leg of our journey home. It also means that we are back in South Australia. We were at Mt Dare waiting for our tyre to be fixed (we blew it yesterday on rail spikes coming down the Old Ghan Heritage Trail) and in walks a man who calls out “Eatmorchikin?”. He has seen that we had just logged this cache today just before him. He had seen our ute parked outside Mt Dare Hotel with a big “eatmorchikin’ sticker across the roof basket (we did this for the Alice Event!). He turns out to be the SA geocaching reviewer. Wow, funny hey. We certainly had a good natter. TFTC – a favourite point from us as this marks a great milestone on our journey. eatmorchikin from Brisbane (been to Alice event and heading home via the Simpson Desert)
Well we have ventured out to the Alice experience event and now it is over and it is time to head home.
However there is a few caches to find along the way.
This is one we found along the way as we headed back along the Binns and Oodnadatta tracks.
I didnt need to make use of Hurtles back door as I had my own special one which I thought was much more pleasant.
We came in through the Binns track after staying the night at the Old Andado Homestead.
I really want to do that track again it was so pretty especially around the Finke river.
Doubled back to find this one then returned to Mt Dare.
I saw that another team had signed the log today so when we got back to Mt Dare I called out there name and we had a geocaching meet and greet in the Hotel.

Having stopped for lunch at Mt Dare, it was north to Lamberts and Chambers. The track seems to have been realigned from my Hema maps, but the cache was where I expected it to be. Thanks Hurtling Posties.
Yay! Woohoo! A (FTF)! It was exciting to make a {FTF} discovery in our favourite desert area. This was certainly the back door to the NT. After a long corrugated drive we were very happy to arrive at GZ. The cache itself was easy to find and there was no difficulty retrieving it. We opened the container hopefully and read the note of congratulations from the CO which said we had found it. The next page was lovely and pristine with no signature on it. That was soon remedied as we signed on as (FTF) cachers. Thank you Hurtle for placing this cache and it gets a favourite point from us as we always enjoy finding new caches.
