A beautiful walk, lots to see. I thought this container would have been standing up from the clue, but it was lying flat. I replaced as found and covered. Thank you for bringing me here.
Just landed in Townsville from Melbourne and this is the first cache I find!
Bit of a tricky one but had fun looking for it.

We were in Townsville for a few days with work. After lunch with ginger beer and pool with ginger beer, we came for a walk along The Strand. It was lovely to be out on a glorious evening, picking up a couple of geocaches with Pilgrimer. Thanks for placing this one, burgo78!
Came up to get out of the cold Victorian weather and to do a road trip from Rockhampton to Townsville with the family checking out the sights and grabbing random caches along the way.
Stamped log.
Thanks for the cache.

A quick find with frmen1. I found it interesting that the side facing the street sounded like a waterfall and the sea side more like a running brook. Thank you for the hint as there were tradies nearby, preparing for another art installation. TFTC
Went for a quick ride this afternoon to find this cache, found what I was looking for and headed over. Nice container. It feels good to get rid of a 18 day slump and write my name down in a log. Log is a bit wet-TFTC Burgo78.
Our muggle friend found this one. Great cache container. Found quicker than we thought we would. TFTC
Another find along hour long walk around the Strand area.
We were very happy to have the opportunity to walk around here, as it brought back many memories of visits in previous years. We recall visiting the waterpark with our then young son who was spellbound by the big bucket which dropped water periodically
Thanks Burgo78

Day 13 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. Today was the last day for team FATZ (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, ZQX and I). We started the morning with the early event, followed by a relaxed breakfast. Then we meandered the Strand to pick off a few caches, before heading for the airport to drop off the others. I stayed on for a few more days. A quick find here. TFTC.

Cache 8913 on 20 Apr 2022.
Up in Townsville from CBR for the Mega with TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox and ZQX and many other CBR cachers! So many interesting caches to find while in the area, we will sadly not be able to get to all of them. Some puzzles were sorted beforehand and some were sorted on the run, some individually and some as a group. We had a caching plan before we arrived which helped frame our time, but as always, some caches we were driving past were too tempting to leave.
Today: catching our flights south this morning but a couple of hours still to grab a last few caches.
This cache: quick find thanks to the clear hint!
Thanks burgo78 for the cache and the fun!

We were out for a morning walk on The Strand and found another TSV cache but were embarrassingly unprepared. Thanks to the locals for the loan of a pen, we're in the log. Thanks burgo78.
Out and about collecting some caches in the city and along The Strand this afternoon with chamad.
This one was found reasonably quickly, the hint was helpful in such a busy area.

Nice walk along here while doing ALs, ECs, Puzzles and trads, great spot. Cache located quickly.
Up to Townsville with GreyHams, timed well with a Mega and Maze and a lot of quality caching in the area to keep anyone busy for longer than the time we had! Counties were our primary focus, up to Cardwell and south of Mackay... a side trip out towards charters, we covered some distance in the 5 days away but saw so much.
Day 1 saw us arrive late in the day after a stop off in cairns, out towards Charters was a lovely drive with its drier scenery before back into the mega to catch up with friends and a Trivia night.
Day 2 was our Mega and Maze day. Lots of great quality and fun ALs on site, friendly people and a visit from the Mega's Easter Bunny for my chocolate egg! Even managed a refreshing squirt from a hose on one AL much to the amusement of those watching!!! Loved the escape room experience and then off north towards Cardwell for a little caching through more iconic north Queensland scenery.
Day 3 saw us walking the length of the strand, lovely historic area, lots of caching and great scenery to enjoy. A good solid morning in the area before boarding the ferry to Palm island, after the warm walk of the morning it was great to sit in the cold aircon with lunch, a cold drink and relax out on the water.
The visit to Palm Island was a beautiful location and very pleased to have had the opportunity to experience it. A calm relaxed trip across was a far contrast to the busy and rough trip back. Into the waves led to a wild and stomach churning bounce of the ferry as it made its journey back to Townsville, yet up top in the open wind and spray it was a wild and fun time!
Day 4 saw us driving south of Mackay for a letterbox trail. More iconic Queensland scenery as we drove, love all the cane fields, lush green and huge mountain ranges. The letter box trail was worth the drive, a lovely area and well put together and we even passed other Canberra teams along the road! Mackay offered lovely beach scenery, a step back into my childhood and a little adventure... plan 'F' payed off as it often does. The little town of Calen came to our rescue were the people were friendly and and the facilities and hotel worthy of stopping.
Day 5 and our last, the journey back towards Townsville with a few stops as we cached along, the heat kicked up a notch but the cars aircon matched it well! Up to Castle Hill and then our time was done and back to the airport and the trip home... Many thanks to the CO's for your caches that led us on another very enjoyable trip.

While my companions admired the foam filled waterfall and skipped around the raised garden area singing 'ring a ring a rosey', I quickly found the cache, had it signed and was replacing it asking did you find it. Hard to get cheap help! Pleasant spot to hang around after a good lunch and drinks at one of the local venues, thanks burgo78 for the entertainment here.
Up from Tassie for the Mega and staying for a few more days. This cache was very close to our accommodation so we thought it would be rude not to leave our mark! Nice calming and relaxing area.

As part of the CacheQLD committee I am here working, caching, catching up with friends and generally having a fab time. Some awesome puzzles up this way and some tricky and adventurous hides! Awesome experience!
In Townsville with my daughter for the Mega. We are staying with and enjoying caching adventures with Earthbound Chief, beckNmonts and ahomburg.
I seemed to go in the opposite direction to the others, circling the area unnecessarily, in the process I think I dropped my cache name stamp around here. Went back later to see if I could find it but it was nowhere to be seen ??. Luckily the cache was found here though.
Thank you for the cache here burgo78 ??

Day 13 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
**Found with sebass19**
Another full day of caching, this time we focused around central Townsville itself, including the Strand, Castle Hill and Townsville South. We started the day off with the CITO at Rowes Bay, but only 30 minutes into the starting time the trees were already planted, so that was a shorter event than expected.
We cached into the darkness once more until we had done another "loop" of everything on the must-do list and ended up back near our accomodation!

Up from Western Victoria for the Mega, today we decided we would walk The Strand with micaparamedic on this lovely sunny day. What a lovely precinct! We took a few minutes to find this neat little hide but we didn't mind the spray from the water while we did. TFTC burgo78.
It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips and a wonderful Mega event. Managed to cache with loads of different people throughout the long weekend - such a fun way to cache! Have signed as SCG, X, Snag, Capital crunchers, NRC, Nibletricecakes, Minifigas, Minifig or some combination of the above! Thanks to everyone in the region for the top quality caching. Appreciate your efforts planting and maintaining these caches.
During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.
After a long day of activities, we decided to make one last visit to The Strand to take a visit to a couple of Adventure Lab Locations (knowing the water playground would be free of kids at this time of night). This was our final find of the day, as the day's activities had well and truely worn us out. After admiring the nearby waterfall, we had a hunt around where the coordinates wanted us, and soon found the cache in a logical spot. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as DWEG1 (Davidwazza and e.gregory1) to save space in the logbook. Thanks burgo78 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 8. Townsville Mega section Day 8. Mega Day 1. Easter has arrived and the town is quiet. There was a plan to try the Breaking bad walk today, but that fell apart due to some planning issues and a possibility the park was closed. What's more, it was hot. Instead Smitten Granny, Gliss!, Nibletricecakes and I toured around town doing Labs and interesting caches we had solved or had peaked our interest during planning. The evening was the welcome to Mega event alongside some amazing gadget caches, followed by some impromptu night caching with Cosmonaut97.

With great excitement we headed to Townville for the for the first FNQ Mega - we were very curious to see how much it had changed since we lived there pre-caching.
Today we had a slower start to the day and I spent it wandering along the Strand doing the AdLabs and the occasional cache in the company of Mrs Crackers and Alansee
I spotted several people looking for this one during our stay here - fortunately this was a pretty quick find today.
Thanks for contributing to the fun burgo78

Found while in Townsville to attend the Mega event.
I travelled up from Adelaide, taking a week or so so get here, meeting up with FeatherWaite to do some caching around the Cunnamulla area then continuing on to Barcaldine and Charters Towers.
While in Townsville I teamed up with Budgietas, Stainless-steel-rat and Gooseandegg on some days, including a day on Magnetic Island, and with Davidwazza at other times. When caching with Davidwazza, logbooks were signed DWEG1.
All in all it was a great week or so in Townsville, with plenty of great caches found.

A phone call to alansee and The Morris soon put paid to that idea and she joined them for a few hours very pleasurable caching before she returned to the computer and the accounts that needed to be processed.
We were making are way down the strand from the Jezzanine barracks picking up ad labs and any others that popped up on screen. We managed a nearby park and took a short stroll towards gz which had us scratching our heads for awhile.
There were a few muggles around but eventually The Morris were able to come up with the goods and we added our names to the log before returning everything as we found.
Thanks Burgo78 but once more for the cache,

Finally able to grab this one with Walterhellmut. We were here last year, actually found it but didn't know it was a geocache back then being amateurs. Good to put a smiley face to this cache. Here in Townsville for the Mega.
After spending yesterday out on the Island, the target today was as many ALs as possible with a few others thrown in for good luck. So it was that Nibletricecakes Albida33 , GLISS! and I set off to become conquering heroes. All caches were found to be in excellent condition so were signed as NAGS or some such combination.
These caches were extraordinary in their variety and creativity. Huge thanks to all COS for the incredible effort that has gone into the creation and placement of both the ALs and caches.

The lap around here was very...very...very long.
Looked short on the map, thats for sure.
Sorry, I will endeavour to regress and write a decent log on most caches.

Ye gods. Some wizards are visiting from Krull. They’ve brought with them some of their local wildlife to show off. Who knew turtles could grow that big.
After completing the nearby lab, we made a quick find here. Thanks for the cache
So excited to be attending my second MEGA and to fly
to a destination for fun! And return to the tropics in an equally long time
Great to meet new faces and to spend caching time with some familiar cachers as well.Find #5435
A few days ahead to explore this beautiful hot city. So much caching on offer, and apologies for the generic log.
And so it goes, just happy to pick up caches such as this one. Thanks to burgo78 for putting out and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment!

The last cache of Day One.
I had started two adventure labs in the area, but I’m stuck on the wording of one answer, and the other is heading offshore. I’ve cut my losses with this trad nearby.
A quick and easy find with hardly anyone around at 10pm, The pen I’ve been using all day decided to die at this point, but if you look closely, you can make out the pen’s last gasp right under Isopeda’s name.

Just arrived in Townsville for the Mega and made a beeline for a burgo78 cache as my first cache for this trip.
It's kinda special as today marks the day that my streak equals my longest slump - 578 days! Given the program for the next couple of days, I will easily surpass that number.
