Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and Im taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford, Ilfracombe, the puzzle trail loop and the great tea last night with The Tritonz and Roaming Howie. Its finally Muster day Yahand after a great breakfast and then the fun drive up to Muttaburra it was time to find a few caches before the lunch event.I was up here last year and it is great to find the rest of the caches that I missed last time.We came in from the West then left briefly from the East and came back in again. Thanks RoddyC TFTC.
Today is going to be another big and long day with a bunch of caches to grab on the way to the event in Muttaburra. Then grab a few around Muttaburra township, before heading back to town for more caches and then another event. Oh today also starts with a breakfast event at the showgrounds. The breakfast was good and the fruit platter was a very nice add on. While loading the info into the phone it was great to sit around and chat on peoples thoughts for the day. With the team gathered it was then off to make a mark on some log books. We signed the logs as Misfits and saw a nice variety of caches, with size and terrain not an issue. We all worked well as a team and it was a good practice run for the main event in a couple of days. Thanks for the placements and the time in putting this all together.
Its ON, its Muster Day.We teamed up with JACS Team, Gcoven and Chamad for an action packed day. With papers in hand we made a mad dash around Muttaburra and the surrounding area grabbing a variety of caches along the way. What a crazy day! Thanks for bringing us here.#4032 - TFTC

Something special or unusual goes here:Found. The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 15 : Muttaburra Muster Day. Today was all about team work. dghoffy joined muff1 and myself to make up the team for the muster today. DMB didn't just roll off the tongue as a team name so we considered that we all came from different States to form the team so Team Name of Three States was adopted and just 3S inserted in the logs for brevity! We managed to find all the caches we attempted today as we had fun making our way to Muttaburra for lunch and then back again to Longreach. we then headed over to Ilfracombe to grab a few more caches waiting for the sun to set to attempt the night cache. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks RoddyC for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
A lesson in the perils of trusting other geocachers! On arrival, we saw two other cachers searching a nearby object. I left my GPS in the car and joined them, only to find our search fruitless. Not too long later, another team pulled up behind us, GPSrs in hand, and walked straight to the geocache, asking if this was what we were looking for. Shamefacedly, we joined them, signed the log and replaced it safely. I should never leave my phone in the car! Found while visiting Longreach Shire during QOGM 2023. TFTC, RoddyC. =^.^=

Today our group attended the breakfast event, then headed up to Muttaburra and back collecting many caches including quite a few as yet unpublished ones. Day 19. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip. Its muster day! Time to see what this thing is all about. A day of laughter with good friends while grabbing some caches and exploring Muttaburra.A nice quick find. Thanks RoddyC for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? Great Northern escape 2022 Day 143. Barcaldine Day 2. Today's trip was to Muttabu5rra. It is over 150km so I headed off early. It was a nice drive and there was plenty of caching to do around town and along the nearby river. I ran into Domsky at a key point of the day, it is great to meet up with people in the wild. It was a long hot day, but I enjoyed myself and came home to Barcaldine in time to cook dinner and flop into bed before going out again tomorrow.
Having reached town, I started at this end and worked my way along. The sprinklers were on, but that did not stop me getting to the cache today.
Thanks for the cache RoddyC

This cache was not far from where we were staying at the excellent Muttaburra caravan park, so I nipped over the road and found it. Good spot for a cache
