Going to archive this one and open up the area for a new cache. Thanks to all the finders over the years. Up the Pride!
Looked hard but couldn’t find anything I might go back to check again on a warmer day when I have more time
Suspect it’s missing so will need to come check and bring a replacement cache just in case…
Grasses flattened around this area. Hopefully cache survived, and just hidden from my hunting
*** Retrospectively logging finds now Lock-down has spoiled my plan for improving finds to become 10+ find days. ***
This was an early morning find by torchlight on a road that was surprisingly busy for 0620 in the morning. The wee tub was located cowering in the scrubby surrounds.
When I first started working over on the North Shore, initially for 3 months, then out to 6 months, I identified this target-rich environment as being what would enable me to upgrade my finds per day from single-figure find days (there were about 20 days of 5 or more). I went out over a range of dates and physically made the find, signed the log, and noted the date on my personal note. These were reserved for finds when required, or back-dated finds if not 'required'. I'd been tracking well and improved all days desired until this week when Lock-down meant the end of finding caches and thus the 5-day on 20 Aug will be missed, as will a few others coming up, I suspect.

There was cricket on nearby but GZ was far enough away to make the grab, sign in & carry on. Thanks
My 8 year old reached deep to find it. Need an adult to watch for cars. Fun one thanks!
We have time for just a few more before finally heading home. I went in to search somewhere where I really didn't think the cache would be and there it was. Sirprise, surprise. TFTC # 16,164
On a geocaching expedition from Nelson. Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
Arrived at GZ after a search the cache was sighed with inss.
Thank you for the cache
Thank you for the cache
Mrs SoBad was caching for the long weekend as part of a group from Nelson. She was going to be the first to be dropped off in the CBD so we checked timing and had time for just a few more caches we hoped. This was the first and a quick find meant we did have time. Log signed as INSS as we did for this trip.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Out today getting a little sun and some exercise in, so naturally there had to be a little geocaching too. This cache was not far from a cache I had come to find to redeem a previous dnf, so naturally I had find this one too.
Upon arriving at GZ there were a couple of places that made sense, but a quick glance told me I had to expand my search I spotted a likely area and quickly made a retrieve. Fortunately this is a quiet area so I could hear approaching cars easily, meaning I could make the replace unnoticed. Thanks for the cache #1052

Very easy find but luckily no cars were coming as It would've looked really weird! TFTC
Since I was in the area tonight, thought I might find just one more, and this one got me a couple of Wonders of the World souvenirs too. TFTC
Took a little while for GPS to settle then applied some logic. All gd here. Watch young ones if they are helping.
I wasn't expecting the cache to be around that tree but I followed the GPS and it brought us right to it. TFTC
Great find!! Is as the clue says base of the tree that’s where your treasure awaits but isn’t as obvious as you would think
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Another good find on a busy day hunting caches around Devonport.*

Not my first attempt at this one. Finally found it. It’s a little dangerous in a busy day. Tftc

Muggles galore meant it was hard to have a proper look for this one. I did have a couple of looks in what I thought were the most likely spots but came up empty handed.
A little surprised at the tree this was hidden at the base of... found with my girls on our school holiday day in Devonport. After some discussion on the merits of Keys vs Frogs, we swapped one TB for another. Thanks!
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. It was time to search the Devonport area today.
The last time I was at the GZ there were road works going on. Luckily today only the lawnmower men were in action across the road.
Cheers for the cache.

Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Interesting history! A bit obvious and not easy to be discrete but got it in the end. Dropped TB. TFTC
There was no one around, found in the second place I looked thanks BigRed1978

Our only DNF today. We spent ages inspecting all the hint objects in about a 30m radius. Its eluded us today.
Located on a very busy Good Friday so tricky to avoid being seen! But good to find.
Nice hiding spot was a lot easier to avoid being found looking at night. There was a fruit burst inside that had melted so I removed that and replaced it. Insides bit wet tried to dry it off
On a walk to Mt. Victoria, Cheltenham Beach & North Head. Once we had found correct hint item, it was easy. Tftc.
hint kinda gives it away so if you don’t want it too obvious don’t look at it
I'll let michaelteacher get the credit for retrieving this one, he even got poked in the eye getting to it! Cache is all good here, tftc
I almost lost an eye getting this one. No joking. Those plants are sharp! Didn't take too long to find though (but we were fixated on the wrong item for a few moments).
This one had us walking around in circles! Eventually found it, but not after a nice bee sting on the foot! Nevermind, a smiley is a smiley, tftc!
