Took a few minutes to spot this one and to avoid getting wet feet. Eventually spied the cache, quick sign and return. TFTC
As just been to the beach, I was in shorts and thongs and didn't feel like walking through long grass to get to GZ. Not even sure where it would be "hanging" as fence line is just full of raspberry bushes.
#385Stopped off at one of these on the trail on our way to see the sights around George Town. TFTC!
Today Im heading into George Town to get some documents signed and then to the local post office to get some stamps, but as usual, Im taking the long way round. Being such a beautiful sunny day, its perfect for a country drive to take in the scenery and of course, find a few caches along the way.I didnt find all the caches in this series but I did enjoy reading about these Notable Tasmanians. Why does it seem everything green out here is out to get ya?? TFTC GrumbligrotKeep smiling
Looked for ages started of looking in the left side of the road near shrubs and fence then read the clue and started looking in the right side of the road where there is a tree looked for a solid 20 minutes but no luck not sure if still there or we just could t find on to the next one anyways
This was a quick find and the added bonus was 2 small aircraft taking to th sky. TFTC
We tackled this little series of caches today.
It was a bit hit & miss for us with finds on the ones towards the end.
All good finding this one.

I thought I would do a few of this series this afternoon. I was surprised how busy the road was and after one not pleasant interaction from a farmer who was convinced I was here to steal sheep, I gave it away. The bison here had been torched by the burn off. Gave it a fresh log but needs a new o ring on the bison.
Thanks for the series
Thanks for the series
This cache has survived a burnoff along the fence line.Logbook quite seared Cannot sign.I regret not taking a photo.
Away for a few days so doing some of the back roads and weaving our way around, picking up some more of the hides, which we haven't got previously.
It was a slightly windy day but we were making the most of it. We had a lovely day taking in some beach and river views and finding some great hide. Had a few DNF's but was very happy to pick up some unloved finds.
This was a sneaky little hide but happy to finally get our name in the log book.
Thanks Grumbligrot for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Must have had our caching eyes on for this one as it was a reasonably quick find for us. TFTC
#12688 - 10:14:00 AM; Jumped through all of the hoops and made it to Tasmania for a couple of weeks of R&R with family. Decided on a mission to George Town this morning to tackle the NT Trail, thinking it would be a straight forward run along a quiet country road. WRONG! Managed to locate just over half the caches in the series (5 of 9), including this one. Had to have a good look before finding this one, but got there in the end. TFTC Grumbligrot
Finally we have made it to Tasmania from the mainland. Hoping to cache along the way over our 2 week holiday. Although a little grey it’s not cold so we will be able to see a few things and do some walks
So happy to be here and looking forward to what we will find.

Had a muggle of a different sort watching me find this one. I hope he doesn't tell. Thanks for cache number 2 in the series.
Clever spot, I found the log book on the ground thankfully in good condition. Back in its correct spot, thank you.
Great little cache although the log was found on the ground but it has been put back
I think I was getting into the groove with this second find along the NT Trail, as usual a little bit of a search but then found and logged. TFTC.
After an impromptu overnight stay in Georgetown, we were eager to collect this power trail. With only 20 caches before the big 400 and also keen to complete the milestones for memory lane challenge.
This cache was in good condition. We stopped to say good moo-rning to the locals. Thanks for the cache.

This was one of many we found today after the covid19 frictions had been lifted. We where on the way to the beach to Capture the sunset.
this one took a bit but we had to move a lot of grass out of the way to find this one. also we had an onlooker with a long face so we went and had a chat

Coming back from the new earth cache we realised we would be coming right by this series so eyes off a few of more difficult ones to try without getting too far behind our schedule. We soon got into the groove of the hides as we worked our way along. We completed the signing duties and re hid. Good to see a little bit of a trail along here. TFTC.
Found thank you for placing and maintaining the cache. My father served in the navy and knew Teddy Sheehan.
I have returned to the area today as the eldest son coaches football.
Why not grab a cache or two.

Tassie Trip Day 211 - This was a great day to take on a the little trail whilst it was not too busy in the area the trail was soon completed and then it was off to the beach for a couple more and a great walk along the shore with the rest of the team staying in the Geo Vehicle and moving it to the other end of the area. I had an error in the head today that saw me use the wrong date all day it should be the 18 apr 19 but my pen wrote 17 apr 19 sorry but the electronic log is correct.
Arrived at the GZ and began a search and after a quick check of the hint the cache was soon in hand and the log signed and returned to the place it was found.
Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache for us to find along this trail.

Our final day enjoying Tassie, starting in Georgetown. We have loved the variety of coastal and inland scenery and walking tracks. Lots of smoke ahead towards town. Thanks for the cache.
Found it took a bit longer my phone wouldn't settle geo hubby was onto it though a new log required shortly
Thanks for the cache Grumbligrot. Visiting the George Town / Low Head area with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP for a couple of days. Thanks for this little series! The GeoGSP and I walked between some of the caches in this series to stretch our legs, whilst RLD4963 moved the geomobile. Another quick find, cheers!
Out and about with Lil Rafa to get caches for the Hidden Creatures series, all the way to Low Head, we found, signed and replaced the cache, completing the find. TFTC TNLN log dry, cool nights but nice days. easy fin with clues.
Travelling around the north picking up new caches since our last visit. This run has been fun on a glorious sunny morning. TFTC a fav point given
Day fourteen of our holiday in Tassie. Bettyboo3747 and I are staying at Low Head.
Time to get the deadly treadlies out, and short ride to the lighthouse before breakfast (and five caches)
A ride south collecting caches along the foreshore, then after lunch, some caches around George Town while the washing was on.
I had heard of the Collins Class submarine, but didn't know where the name came from, a very interesting history.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14425. Day 14 of our 3 week holiday in Tasmania. Robmc and I are still staying at Low Head so with dry weather forecast for a while we headed out on the bicycles to pick up a few caches around the area before going in to George Town for another caching run this afternoon (whilst our clothes were happy at the laundrette for an hour or so).
A worthy inclusion. So many brave men gave their lives. RIP.
Thanks Grumbligrot

It was a little difficult to spot this small container at a first however we soon spotted it. We also spotted a small Jabiru J-120 doing touch and goes on the nearby airstrip. TFTC
Our last day of caching around the area and we had a few caches we wanted to get before heading back to Hobart! This just happened to be on the way so we thought we would pay a visit. Teddy was difficult to find. First the car GPS said one side and then the hand held said the other side and the iPhone decided to play up!! We got there in the end but took far too long to find!

Though the great cache notes fill in a bit more of Teddy's story [^]

And as a bonus,
I've found out where the airport is

Came out to go for a swim at Low head today and thought I’d do some caching. This trail is a nice and easy drive by one! Really enjoyed it TFTC
Hi there Grumbligrot.
We found your cache **"NT Trail 2 - Edward Sheean"** at 9:42:00 AM today. (This brings our total find count to 18626).
We are currently staying at East Beach Caravan Park with family, so our geocaching this week will be more of a hit-n-miss effort between relaxing, eating, drinking and socialising. Today was a fine opportunity to attempt the "Notable Tasmanian" series. A very little known fact about a not so notable Tasmanian is that Bill Stuart (Ian's dad) was Princess Mary's maths teacher.
We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes on our journey today & had an absolutely wonderful drive. Our count for the day was 10 finds (& 1 DNF's).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A quick search at GZ and we soon had the cache signed and re-hidden and onto the next. Thanks Grumbligrot for providing this cache and the trail to a beautiful beach.
Back home after being in Tassie for a holiday, now the daunting task of logging all our finds, sorting through the scraps of paper with notes on them.
Had a few days of sunshine, a lot of days of rain, ended up with just over 105 finds all up on this trip, and visited many tourist spots in the north of Tassie.
found this cache after a quiet night in Lowhead
thanks to Grumbligrot for this cache series
sorry for duplicate logs

After a quick find at #1 we took a little longer searching here. So many spots for "Unatvat"! Needless to say, even though this is a fairly quiet road on a Monday, the odd passing car caused us to perform our "just had to stop & get out to admire the view of, um, this paddock" rituals at several stops, this being one. TFTC
Hanging around is exactly what we felt like we were doing cache blind finally found tftc
Spot on coords led to the find. Enjoying the trail...tftc grumbilgrot....cheers ST.
Out and about in George Town today to collect lots of caches published since our last visit and this was one we found. A good spot to place a trail. TFTC
After a great event by Grumbligrot it was only correct that we run off and find a few more of the CO's caches.
This little series a simple matter of stopping the car jumping out and after a short search we were adding our names to the log before jumping back in the car and rushing off to the next.
Thanks for the cache.

If I remember correctly this was sneaky. Still we were eagle eyed this afternoon and good coordinates led us directly to it. Thanks for another good cache.
Teddy Sheehan's story is truly inspiring so it is good to have a cache named in his honour. This one was quickly found on the opposite side to that which was searched first. Thanks.
Another quick find on this trail, loving the information supplied about each of the notables. TFTC
Bitterly cold winds sweeping across the plain. Thankfully had the cache to hand after a quick search. Back to the warmth of the car and onto the next one.. thanks..!!
Quick trip into Georgetown this afternoon, 5 new caches to find and has been a while since I've had a chance to get out here. Pretty quiet area apart from a muggle flying around in his light aircraft probably wondering what i was doing. Made a quick find.
Thanks for the cache

Today we targeted this series and braved the rain and wind. Accurate co-ordinates led to an easy find. Thanks for showcasing these notable Tasmanians.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
We didn't see that this series of caches had been published until early this evening. With the adverse weather forecast we dismissed any possibility of looking for the caches this evening. However, the wind dropped and the rain stopped and we had a mad moment - we would leave home at about 22:00 and go to George Town. Apart from a couple of short periods of heavy rain, the driving conditions were reasonable and we got to the road on which the Notable Tasmanian caches were hidden at about 23:40. We managed to find two before midnight, two after midnight (continuing our streak into the 5th of June, day 92) but could not find the fifth one as the rain and wind returned.
Teddy Sheean was a very brave young man who gave his life to protect others. The injustice of Teddy not being awarded a VC is beyond belief, but RAN and RAAF personnel were never considered despite their heroism. Despite accurate coordinates, it took a short hunt before this cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. As there were no other entries in the logbook, we will claim {FTF} at 23:56. Reassembling the cache container took the most time as it was hard to manipulate in the confined space in which it was hidden. Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache and the series.
