There is now nothing in the lidless tube. Its empty. Needs owner attention. TFTC
There is no lid and was unable to grab the log out of the log photo is with this post
Today Im heading into George Town to get some documents signed and then to the local post office to get some stamps, but as usual, Im taking the long way round. Being such a beautiful sunny day, its perfect for a country drive to take in the scenery and of course, find a few caches along the way.I didnt find all the caches in this series but I did enjoy reading about these Notable Tasmanians. With my TOTT that I keep on my phone case, I was able to extract a damp log from its hiding place and sign my name.TFTC GrumbligrotKeep smiling
Found it but no lid nor log so requires maintenance but excellent hiding spot and would be amazing if everything was there
I did not find Mary. Perhaps later I saw that this must have been a clever subtle hide. Did find the stump but that's all. Will look better if there is a next time...
Found this cache in a great hiding spot!!
However it needs maintenance. The cache doesn’t have a lid and the logbook is wet. I couldn’t get it out to sign either. TFTC

#12689 - 10:28:00 AM; Jumped through all of the hoops and made it to Tasmania for a couple of weeks of R&R with family. Decided on a mission to George Town this morning to tackle the NT Trail, thinking it would be a straight forward run along a quiet country road. WRONG! Managed to locate just over half the caches in the series (5 of 9), including this one. Hunted all over the obvious hiding place before spotting the cache and returning to the geomobile to get the ToTT needed to extract the log for signing. TFTC Grumbligrot
Had to use a local screwdriver (stick) to retrieve log as I didn’t have my tweezers lol. Tftc
Finally we have made it to Tasmania from the mainland. Hoping to cache along the way over our 2 week holiday. Although a little grey it’s not cold so we will be able to see a few things and do some walks
So happy to be here and looking forward to what we will find.
TFTC a really good hide

This is a ripper. There seemed to be an obvious hiding spot - plus an obvious second choice. It wasn't until I approached the actual hide from the right angle that it became clear. Favourite for me. TFTC
I thought I was on a winning steak until I got to this cache location along the NT Trail, I looked and I looked and then I looked some more, I am not sure how long I looked for but it was a fair bit of time and then I decided that I would have to give up and try again another day. AND THEN I SAW IT! What a sneaky cache and what a great hide, the caches I hate the most are the ones I love the most! TFTC.
After an impromptu overnight stay in Georgetown, we were eager to collect this power trail. With only 20 caches before the big 400 and also keen to complete the milestones for memory lane challenge.
This cache was in good condition. A sneaky hide, luckily we had TOTT with us for retrieving. Thanks for the cache.

This was one of many we found today after the covid19 frictions had been lifted. We where on the way to the beach to Capture the sunset.
We love this very cheeky ( don’t give up ) it’s worth the find but it is smaller than we expected you will need tweezers.

Going through our Tasmanian trip and came across this omission. Apologies for not logging at the time. Thanks for placing and maintaining the trail. Kutgw
Today before our departuree to the west we did first this trail.
We worked from #9 to #1.[^]
At the end we found them all.
Most of them in 10 seconds, some after minutes

Coming back from the new earth cache we realised we would be coming right by this series so eyes off a few of more difficult ones to try without getting too far behind our schedule. We soon got into the groove of the hides as we worked our way along. We completed the signing duties and re hid. Good to see a little bit of a trail along here. TFTC.
This cache took longer to locate than expected. Searched in vain and as a previous cacher said as they turned to leave it was spotted. We had the same experience, very happy to add our name to the log. Giving this a favourite, thanks.
OMG Looked in and everywhere else. I give up so I turned to go back to the car and OMG why did I not see it TNLN TFTC
I'm having so much fun. Tftc. Couldn't sign log as didn't have anything to remove it. Fav point.
Another sneaky one that took a few minutes to find.

Tassie Trip Day 211 - This was a great day to take on a the little trail whilst it was not too busy in the area the trail was soon completed and then it was off to the beach for a couple more and a great walk along the shore with the rest of the team staying in the Geo Vehicle and moving it to the other end of the area. I had an error in the head today that saw me use the wrong date all day it should be the 18 apr 19 but my pen wrote 17 apr 19 sorry but the electronic log is correct.
Arrived at the GZ and collected the prize it was nice area and a great spot for another in the line of caches we collected.
Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache for us to find along this trail.

Thank you for the cache. Maggie the great GeoWestie caching with Carer. did cache with Angus88. Good one
Thanks for the cache Grumbligrot. Visiting the George Town / Low Head area with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP for a couple of days. Thanks for this little series! The GeoGSP and I walked between some of the caches in this series to stretch our legs, whilst RLD4963 moved the geomobile. This is a very sneaky and clever hide, took us a little while but got there in the end. A favourite from me. Cheers!
Out and about with Lil Rafa to get caches for the Hidden Creatures series, all the way to Low Head, we found, signed and replaced the cache, completing the find. TFTC TNLN log dry, cool nights but nice days. sneaky little one here.
Travelling around the north picking up new caches since our last visit. This was a sneaky one and found by Mrs after Mr. totally overlooked it. TFTC a fav point given
#14427. Day 14 of our 3 week holiday in Tasmania. Robmc and I are still staying at Low Head so with dry weather forecast for a while we headed out on the bicycles to pick up a few caches around the area before going in to George Town for another caching run this afternoon (whilst our clothes were happy at the laundrette for an hour or so).
Definitely a NT is Mary. A good hide here too.
Thanks Grumbligrot

Day fourteen of our holiday in Tassie. Bettyboo3747 and I are staying at Low Head.
Time to get the deadly treadlies out, and short ride to the lighthouse before breakfast (and five caches)
A ride south collecting caches along the foreshore, then after lunch, some caches around George Town while the washing was on.
I would have to have been mostly dead not see all the media guff about Mary!
This series started off so well with larger containers, but seems to have shrunk to only bisons!
Thanks, Robmc.

This cache proved to be a bit of a challenge and had looked at options nearby but initially missed where this was hidden. Eventually re-checked some spots and noticed something out of place. We were soon able to sign log. TFTC
Our last day of caching around the area and we had a few caches we wanted to get before heading back to Hobart! This just happened to be on the way so we thought we would pay a visit. Our daughter lives next door to Mary’s Aunt and Uncle. Mary was quite difficult to see and very cleverly done! Still not enjoying getting in and out of the car!!

Hi there Grumbligrot.
We found your cache **"NT Trail 4 - Mary, Crown Princess if Denmark"** at 10:54:00 AM today. (This brings our total find count to 18633).
We are currently staying at East Beach Caravan Park with family, so our geocaching this week will be more of a hit-n-miss effort between relaxing, eating, drinking and socialising. Today was a fine opportunity to attempt the "Notable Tasmanian" series. A very little known fact about a not so notable Tasmanian is that Ian's dad was Princess Mary's maths teacher. (Despite having a mathematics professor as a father, dad was known to mention that she wasn't a promising student).
We DNF'd this one on our initial run, but returned here for a second look on our way back to camp. Of course the cache is always in the last place you look - a very sneaky cache!!
We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes on our journey today & had an absolutely wonderful drive. Our count for the day was 10 finds (& 1 DNF's).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A quick search at GZ and we soon had the cache signed and re-hidden and onto the next. Thanks Grumbligrot for providing this cache and the trail to a beautiful beach.
Back home after being in Tassie for a holiday, now the daunting task of logging all our finds, sorting through the scraps of paper with notes on them.
Had a few days of sunshine, a lot of days of rain, ended up with just over 105 finds all up on this trip, and visited many tourist spots in the north of Tassie.
found this cache after a quiet night in Lowhead
thanks to Grumbligrot for this cache series
sorry for duplicate logs

Found it but couldn't sign log as its pushed to far back to retrieve. Left our mark on another piece of paper TFTC
Mrs Tardis can claim an affiliation with the princess when she was "just Mary" as she attended the same high school, though some years apart. Good parking for the Tardis here but woah, that's one sneaky hide! Just when you think, "oh, it'll be there of course". Nope!
Looked all around before spotting the sneaky hide even though coords spot in. Tftc grumbilgrot...cheers ST.
Out and about in George Town today to collect lots of caches published since our last visit and this was one we found. A good spot to place a trail. A sneaky hide as you think it should be somewhere else. TFTC
After a great event by Grumbligrot it was only correct that we run off and find a few more of the CO's caches.
This little series a simple matter of stopping the car jumping out and after a short search we were adding our names to the log before jumping back in the car and rushing off to the next.
Thanks for the cache.

You had us fooled for a minute here. We thought we had the wrong place but a proper look soon revealed another sneaky hide. A favourite point for this hide, and Mary wasn't a bad chock either. TFTC
Quick find after the obvious spot was empty. As others have before, I pushed the log in too far trying to remove it, but luckily had the TOTT in the car. Ran out of time to go any further down the trail, but had fun getting this far - tft series, information & of course, the caches! Will (hopefully) be back to finish. BYO extraction tool!
There are so many famous Tasmanians that I can see this great little series growing and growing.
The placement of this one was very sneaky and in trying to get the log sheet out I actually pushed it in further which made it even trickier!!
A tiny twig eventually snagged it and fortunately replacing it was a cinch.
Thanks.

Second attempt at this one for a nice easy find, not sure how I missed it first time around. Bit of a challenge to extract the log, got there in the end.. excellent.. thanks..!!
Another find in our effort to get the numbers to make a couple of claims in the geosports challenge, tricky but got it. TFTC
Quick trip into Georgetown this afternoon, 5 new caches to find and has been a while since I've had a chance to get out here. Pretty quiet area apart from a muggle flying around in his light aircraft probably wondering what i was doing. wandered toward the GZ looking at where I though it could be, but no luck, then i turned around and there it was, nicely hidden.
Thanks for the cache

Hi Grumbligrot
800 kilometres for 28 cache finds; 7 on day one of the trip and 21 on the second: just 1 GA cache, the rest were GCs - during the trip I logged my 3000th GC find.
Places visited on day 1: Campbell Town, Trevallyn, Legana, Exeter, Supply River, Deviot, Beaconsfield and George Town.
Day 2: Bell Buoy, George Town, Lefroy, Beechford, Young, Swan Point and Launceston.
This cache was the third on day two and the second find of the NT Trail.
Made a quick find.
The cache was Sainted and the log signed at 0745hrs.
Once the paper work was completed I sat on a structure and recited "*Mary, Mary Quite Contrary*" and "*Mary Had A Little Lamb*" in the Princess' honour - if you don't believe that, you're a **Grumbligrot**.
TFTC and cheers

Ewe found it.on a very boggy afternoon managed to find 4 of 5 of this series. Plus 2 leeches
Today we targeted this series and braved the rain and wind. Accurate co-ordinates led to an easy find. Thanks for showcasing these notable Tasmanians.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We didn't see that this series of caches had been published until early this evening. With the adverse weather forecast we dismissed any possibility of looking for the caches this evening. However, the wind dropped and the rain stopped and we had a mad moment - we would leave home at about 22:00 and go to George Town. Apart from a couple of short periods of heavy rain, the driving conditions were reasonable and we got to the road on which the Notable Tasmanian caches were hidden at about 23:40. We managed to find two before midnight, two after midnight (continuing our streak into the 5th of June, day 92) but could not find the fifth one as the rain and wind returned.
How many little girls dream of becoming a princess? Nearly all. It is unlikely that Mary would have been an exception. The transition from real estate sales to Princess was a dream come true. Despite accurate coordinates it took a couple of minutes before this cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. As there were no other entries in the logbook, we will claim {FTF} at 00:12 on 5th June. Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache and the series
