Found after a quick search. Unfortunately, the area has been felled and it unlikely the cache will survive. So, have relocated it near the metal gate, in the rocks. GZ is now S 35 18.232 E 148 56.148. TFTC
A quick find on a lovely walk and in an area we didn’t know existed. TFTC
A nice easy find, was a little worried the path was gone but happy to see it was still there. TFTC
Making the most of a warm winters day to tackle a few of the Uriarra caches.
This is the House of Wombats and they are not happy with this strange looking thing so had thrown it out in the open!
Grateful thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining so many great caches that continue to entertain me on my caching journey.

This one was also a nice straightforward find. Got some of my confidence back now...
Did the whole of this series today. The story is with #1. TFTC
Found this one quickly since it had fallen over and its uncamouflaged base is bright white. I left it so it is less visible.

After several weeks cooped up 'working from home', I needed to get out and get caching. I ask Aquilus1 if she is available, and sure enough she is. Trying to find a days caching that we both want to target, especially while Namadji is closed, was a little difficult, but we settled on Uriarra where Aquilus1 was missing about half the caches, and I was missing all but one.
So, which ones to target? We decided on ALL. OF. THEM. At least that was easy.
So we started with the 'west' loop first, which included a dirty great big hill, part way down and then back again. Very pleased to also pick up three puzzles long solved.
On our return to the car, no having suffered enough punishment yet, we then went and did the 'east' loop. It involved more down and then up.... but at least it was a long, sort of relaxing (if we ignored the ankle/feeat/leg pain) descent back to the car.
All caches found, though some took longer than others. Sorry for the generic log, we did quite a few!

After my early morning FTF hike in the area I was happy for this trail to entertain me on the way out. I was surprised about the level of entertainment. With 2 DNFs this series keept me on my feet. Some easy finds and others way harder then the typical D1.5 setting.
This first one for me (as I was going backwards) was the easiest of the lot. A large container lying under the obvious tree.
Thank you louandlily for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

G'Day My Fellow Geocacher,
How are you doing on this fine day? I’m DARKSIDEDAN aka Daniel from Canberra, Australia and I have had the pleasure of finding your Geocache during my travels as a Geocacher. This cache was an easy find. I signed the logbook either Darksidedan or Darkside or DSD.
Your cache was found in good condition with plenty of room in the logbook
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big than you for placing your geocache and for maintaining it for the Geocaching Community. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 5600 finds plus 340 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.
**********************************************************************
I have included with my Found It log an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.
Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocachers to write logs with an average length of more than one hundred words per log. As of the 14th August 2019 my average Found It log is 125 words per log. I would like to get all my logs up to more than 200 words per log but I will have to wait and see how I go. Currently I am just trying to get my average up by finding and logging as many geocaches as I can. My apologies to anyone who finds my lengthy logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain the highest level with this challenge. After more than 5,800 geocaches (which includes all cache finds up and including this cache, I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated.

I continued on from the Back of the Cotter trail, trying to tick off trail caches for the purpose of picking up gems for the museum challenge. Alas only 3/10 of the 1st trail were gems

A CBC trip round and about Cotter Dam specifically to invite muggles to find caches for me . TFTC.
This one, my fifth today, was only a little way past #5. It seemed silly not to finish the series. Of course, silly me didn't know there is a seventh one currently disabled that I'll have to come back for. Never mind, I've enjoyed the walk. This one was sitting in the open, on its side. I reckon the pigs have been at it, chasing mushrooms and generally tearing up the soil. I put it in the closest pine tree to GZ which was not covered with thorny bushes, in the tree. Thanks for the series.
Out early on a clearing Sunday morning to finish off the Back of Cotter trail, complete the Village People trail and to summit Mt McDonald, collecting as many caches located along the way.
A few muggles out walking their dogs, the usual hoards of kangaroos and the odd horse grazing away. Some good hides, one I’ll just have to return to find and another that looked to be looooooong gone. Fine views on the way up Mt McDonald back down to the dam and beyond, as well as across to the South from the summit. With limited time for today’s adventure had to leave a few caches closer to the water for next time. Headed then directly down to Brindabella Road for the quick(er than back the way I came) hike back to the geomobile.
Thanks to all the CO’s for placing AND maintaining their hides. Apologies for the generic log, any specific, important or casual observations added at the end. I will be back, sooner rather than later. TNLNSL TFTC

Found at 11:46 AM GAFF1 in the company of noikmeister and DogboyOz .
Set up our caravan at the Hagan's and then we quickly worked out a tour to do on our bikes. A two hour route was worked out which ended up taking 2.5 hours.
Thanks louandlily

On my way to the trigs around Cotter Dam and Uriarra. These caches were a bonus for the day. Enjoyed this short series. Tftc. Fave point for the series. I had an awesome day here!
I've been meaning to do this trail for a while. Today while in the area, I grabbed the caches before heading home. All found OK except for the last.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Last week I found back to cotter scenic 1 on the way to mt gingera but due to time constraints that was all i could do. I had to come back as this area is an absolute goldmine and very scenic so here I am. TheSkype accompanied me plus 2 regular muggles and we had a great walk picking up the cotter scenic trail and village people. About 12km. Tftc .
There is a recurring theme in this series - it is best suited to short people!

I decided to go for a nice walk and grab a few caches around Uriarra. 6th find for the day, I arrived at GZ and soon had CIH. Lots of blackberries in the area, some dead, some alive, but the thorns are just as sharp. TFTC.
A great and long and hot day of caching in Canberra together with J+J.AU. We have been all over Canberra today to knock off a few suburbs and ger the numbers up for the upcoming mega event. Was gettkng quite hot in tbe afternoon, but that didn't hold us back. Thanks dor putting out all those great caches.

We had planned to do some caches in Canberra and the outer, We’re grabbing some caches in Urialla as well with Wilbert67. The day has really warmed up. TFTC
Having set myself a new challenge, I decided to head to Uriarra and see if I could complete both Pts out there. I thought I was being rather ambitious as it meant I would have to walk each track twice - there and back in order to return to my car. I am rather stubborn, so once I have an idea in my head I tend to push through to achieve my goal, whether my feet are saying no more! no more! or not.
I especially enjoyed the views at the end of the Back of the Cotter scenic trail series even though a few of the caches along the way had given me some grief which I overcame and the track is very exposed - no shade at all, and I became very hot, and probably sunburnt. Once back at the car I had lunch then set out for the The Village People track.
I had some difficulty finding the best place to park so that I was as close to the start of the series as possible - my feet were already complaining, but once there it was plain sailing - or walking, till I eventually reached #7. The caches in this series were a mixed bag - all different sizes and containers which I much prefer as they keep you guessing. There was also a mixture in possible hiding places - all good again, and a mixture in degree of difficulty - not so good as they didn't always reflect the true picture. Some with clues and others without - again a good mix up which made the geosense work a little harder. By the time I reached #7 it had started to sprinkle and the sky was quite dark, however it seemed to disperse and I returned to my car without getting too wet.
I really feel for you with the battle against blackberries - I have the same problem along the HMAS series. Good luck with keeping some of them clear. All caches were found to be in good condition. All logs were either stamped or signed as SG which is what I often use in small logs to save space. TN but left some Pts sometimes.
Many thanks to louandlily for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment. A great effort.
Decided to come out to Uriarra for an afternoon caching walk I targetted these two trails specifically because they had 4 "Large" cache sizes amongst them which I need towards a challenge cache!
It was a great walk in an area I have never visited before!
Thanks for bringing me out here and for creating this trail! Theres so much room out here for more caches! Sorry for the generic logs

With ALL7. Found this great easy track finding those caches. Pine fragrances in air. However, the damn blackberry scrubs and sprout growths were really annoying. I got some scratch cuts in my legs and hand and some minor damages in my pants. Thick pants and knee-length boots and tough gloves would be a good idea! TFTC

The plan today was with dty73 to head out and see about some of the caches in the area, but it was getting quite late by the time we could make it. Decided not to let that us stop us so with torches and warm clothes it was just on dark when we arrived but the trails made for easy walking and didn't seem to cold.
Definitely no cutting through with all the blackberries. Easy walk along the tracks though and lots of frogs heard noisy nearby. Thanks for the cache louandlily.

Out for an evening of caching with Aquilus1. Torches in hand we set off around 6pm and finished by around 7pm. Another quick find, now we know our gps takes about 10mtrs to catch up. Tftc!!!
Time for a cuppa and sustenance in this vicinity. Dog walker seemed surprised to see us there! TFTC
A sunny autumn day and what better to do than some caching. Easy trails for walking and covering the ground quickly, and some lovely mountain scenery. What a pity we hadn't planned this better and brought some lunch and a thermos! Thanks louandlily.
Today we decided to head out and find the Back of Cotter and Village People series. We had to leave The Woofer at home, so we were a bit sad to be wandering the trails without our little sidekick! Some lovely views and a few very friendly horses made this a memorable day of caching. Found 22 of 22, took about 3.5 hours, left something in every cache that we were able to, and added to our eraser collection.
A quick and easy find.

Caching has not been priority of ours for the past few months, as life threw us few a challenges. So today FFLL No 1 decided to head out with Rapidlywild for a trail run. FFLL No 2 stayed behind to care for the geopup. The weather was lovely and cool, just made for the nice stroll along the tracks collecting the smilies, lovely views across the cotter dam in parts, it was great to see a new area of the ACT which we hadn't been to in a long while. Thanks Rapidlywild for another fun filled adventure.
After finishing the other trail it was time to get our groove on with the village people trail, no singing was had though...a quick grab, apologies for the generic log. We really did enjoy the trail, thanks for the placements, one we will recommend for a nice way to spend a couple of hours. TFTC

It has been quite sometime since a decent caching haul, 2017 has been rather quiet on the caching front for both myself and FurfacesLL. Seeing the planned cooler weather for today, we decided to dust off the legs and go for a wander, summer isnt a favourite for either of us. So off we went to do the 2 trails around Uriarra and whatever else comes up. Apologies in advanced for generic logs however please do not let that impact on the fact that we had a great day out wandering and felt pretty good after racking up 25 finds for the day.
Took the wrong approach initially as we didnt spot the trail.... um nope dont think going through the pine plantation is going to get us to the cache. Back out to the main trail, down a little further, oh theres a gate haha how about we go that way? Nice easy find once at GZ
Thanks for the cache louandlily [^]

After finishing the Back of the Cotter Scenic Trail series, it made sense to do this one (in reverse order) as part of a return journey. I enjoyed this series - a nice variety of containers and hides and a few little challenges in among them.

Both of us took an easier day today so decided to go for the wander up the track collecting the caches in this series as we went.
Really enjoyed the variety of the caches and placements and the views along the way were just spectacular!

The geobro (goldfinger777) and I were in the mood for a bit of a geowander so after scoping out the map, we decided we'd come out and give this trail a go.
After completing the series nearby, we decided to continue on with this one. Parked at the gate then found a saggy section of fence about 20m to the left which is easier to get over. From there it was an easy wander collecting the caches. Mostly easy finds and good sizes too!
Enjoyed the walk around this section of forest

Today we explored Camberra and surrounds using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. We enjoyed this series finding caches high and low and some took longer than they should have but enjoyed the walk around and the history.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

11699. Found during a wonderful wander around the area today.
I decided to do the two walks around the Uriarra Village this afternoon on my own - coz I could (lol). After finishing the Back of Cotter series I headed around and parked off the road, jumped the gate, and started this series. No probs with the find. Signed the log, Returned the cache, and headed off to the next cache.
Thanks again louandlily !!

Hadnt updated my GSAK database with the new coords so I was hunting around the wrong spot for a while. After making the find in logical place, noted the logs reflected updated coords.
Another one which was a quick find on a beautiful almost Spring day. There was quite a bit of mud around here, and we were glad to be caching before the blackberries re-grow in the Spring. There are SO many around here. Something about blackberries and pine trees I think?!
Log signed and one more left in the series.
Thanks louandlily,

#4772 - 12:50; I've had a trip out this way on the 'to do' list for a while and with a beautiful winter's day happening, decided today would be as good a time as any to head out here for a few caches. I was joined by Sol de lune, who came along for the ride/walk as he had already logged the caches on my list for today. I remember this series being published, but haven't been out this way since. Parked across the road from the access gate and headed along the track. Looking at earlier logs, it seems I had the benefit of updated coords, as this was a quick find today with no blackberry problems either TFTC louandlily
Sunday 17 June 2016 - another glorious winter's day in the mid teens with a brilliant blue sky after a minus 1 start and then fog setting in until late morning. This mid morning fog made for a misty crisp bike ride, and then a very warm 5km/2hr walk in the 'bush'. Found 9 caches of which a favourite point goes to the Mt McDonald cache as these lure me up, up and up to improve my fitness and provide a feast for the eyes with all the good views. All quick and easy finds. Thx p2p. TFTC.
#1660 In this series, I was able to find caches 1 to 6. It seems 7 had beat me. 2 took the longest to find, 5 was about 8 metres out, 4 was the trickiest. TFBMH louandlily.

Well it was chilly overnight (-5C) , so no early starts today. I've been eyeing off the Village People series since it was published & decided to day was the day given the limited time I had. So just before lunch & headed down to Uriarra via Uriarra Rd to grab a couple of caches along the way. It was grey, cold but mercifully still.

After finding some caches around the southern side of Cotter I drove over to here to knock off this series. TFTCs.
S 35° 18.216 E 148° 56.145
After stepping through blackberries at GZ (see photograph) and failing to find a cache, I went off to the next cache. I even tried the caps on the top of the fence posts near the gate, but they didn't budge.
I had another search on my return, but then giving it some more thought (and following the theme) walked over to the nearest accessible pine tree and made the find.
I now see the coordinates have been changed. I got S 35° 18.216 E 148° 56.145, which I prefer after comparing the two on Google maps.

Arrived at GZ and.....just looked at it. In there.....nah, surely not? But of course I did look, however after doing that for about 15 seconds thought something had to be wrong. No logs on my GPS, so get the phone out to have a look at the previous log. Ok, 15 metres out maybe....lets expand the search.
Cache was found after walking the arc, and yep close to 15 metres from the posted co-ords. No problems though, done that once or twice myself....so just signed the log, took a GPS reading and replaced the cache.
Thanks LandL......just FYI, my GPS reading has the cache at S35 18.218 E148 56.147...you might just need to check it.

This one took a while. I think the coordinates are about 15m out... Still not as long as #5 though.
Chooo ooo [FTF] on a dark and cold night! Was just starting to settle in for the evening when a new cache got published down in Namadgi. Nah, too cold, too many kangaroos – someone else can have it… A little while later, another one was published a little closer, on the north side… I was umming, but only for a few seconds. It was a first time hider, might be issues with it/hard to find… But then, all of a sudden these 7 got published! OK – that does it, I’m off!
Drove there slowly due to kangaroos, but not too slow, as I thought there may be others on the way! Arrived at a parking spot, and could see no other cars, so it was looking good. Started off with number 2, as it was the closest. Then #1, and then sort of in order after that. Some were quite difficult in the dark, and I almost DNFd two of them, but came back in the end and found them! Certainly tricky at night. I was not familiar with these tracks, so ended out zigzagging all over the place! Had to be careful of wombat holes.
The stars were fantastic out tonight, as it was a very clear night. This also meant that the temperature was dropping quickly! However, I didn’t notice until I finished the last one, and headed back to the car at about 10.45pm. All of a sudden it was very cold -3°, and the fog was setting in! Certainly crossing that last fence was much harder on the way back – the post covered in ice.
An ultra-slow drive home, due to even more kangaroos. Thanks for the fun louandlily!
