Logs

06-Sep-18
As there is now an extra 'No Tresspass' sign listing is being archived and locked from further logs. (The original 'Water Catchment' sign does not, by itself, prohibit access.)

02-Sep-18
As per previous logs this area is out of bounds and is a water catchment area.

Cameras and no entry signs make it fairly clear that we should t enter.

31-Aug-18
I was going to check this one out while on the way back to the caravan park today but the entrance off Learmouth Street has very clear signs about this being in a drinking water catchment protection area. We choose not to ignore them as others have done.

Thanks anyway Tonno87.

Embarking on a 17 day holiday to complete the Wool Wagon and Kingsford Smith Mail Run Pathways with a brief stop at Coral Bay in between Big Grin A total of 4278km in the end
We tried to do the Pathways a few years back but one of the rivers along the way was too high to cross so we didn't do it, now finally we are on our way

After spending a few days in Exmouth with what we were hoping would be nice weather again today it's not great. Our last day here so grabbing this cache and then time to hit the supermarket to stock up.
Mr dimor grabbed this one as I didn't want to look in case there were spiders, he said there wasn't

TFTC Smile

All caches replaced as found

Was a nice walk and an excellent view

26-Jul-18
Unfortunately we picked an overcast, hazy day to look for this one so we didn’t get the full effect of the view. We’re sure on the right day it would be fantastic.
We saw the signs and decided to pay attention to the one that said 4WD only! A quick find thanks to the clue.

We didn't care about the no trespassing sign and drove right up to the cache.
It is a beautiful view on to the city of Exmouth.

Thank you for the cache.

Today I tried a second time to get to the cache location. I started at S 21° 55.466 E 114° 06.950, where there were no signs restricting the access. I hiked a few hundred meters until I reached S 21° 55.669 E 114° 06.679, still about 200 meters to GZ. There another No Entry sign made me turn around, as I didn't want to get into any trouble with local authorities.

If there is any unrestricted path to the cache location it would be helpful to add a starting point to the cache listing. Thanks!

12-Jul-18
The "no entry" signs deterred us from getting closer to this cache.

03-Jul-18
Didn't want to risk the No Entry signs and cameras!

10644 and 1st of 2 found today.

Have the morning to kill before heading back to the airport so took a bit of a wander around town. Was in the obvious spot but still took me a while to find it.

Thank you for placing the cache Tonno87 and the range.

Luckily there were no spiders today!

23-Jun-18
I agree with the view!! The best on sundown for me. I was a little afraid of spiders and nearly missed this one for that reason

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 30. My time over in Exmouth and on the Ningaloo reef I started the drive south, heading towards Carnarvon. I ended up on a coastal strip north of Carnarvon called Red bluff, a very remote area.

Bright and early before there were too many people about I headed up here on foot. That was only the beginning. Finding the blighter was the next issue. With a bit of patience I was happy to locate it in the end.

Thanks.

Grabbed this on an early morning pre-dawn walk with no moon up. It was way too dark to see Exmouth or the surrounds, but the view of the stars and Milky Way was amazing! We even saw a satellite go past and a few meteorites!! We found the cache fairly quickly, even in the dark. Thanks!!

27-Apr-18
We walked up to the GZ before the sunrise. The morning stars were amazing to see. Didn't really get to see the view of the city and the coastline. Thanks for the cache!

Easy find but was nervous about the No Entry signs.

The obvious way in clearly states authorised access only and no trespassing. My driver didn't want to risk a fine so this one went begging. I'd be interested to know if there is an alternate access.

02-Jul-17
A leg stretch for the whole family. Had to accidentally on purpose ignore the trespassing signs. Took a minute to work out how to get at the cache but all was good in the end. TFTC!

On a quick work trip to Exmouth. Would like to say it was a quick find but it took me a little while, trying various angles and approaches, to get my hands on this one. TFTC Smile

17-Apr-17
Wasn't sure whether there was another way into this one as the sigh suggested I should not have proceeded off the main road... But, as I was on a mission and I figured it would be short, I quickly darted up and nabbed the cache from a likely spot... [^]

Name swiftly in the log and container returned, I reappeared back in legal territory and continued on my way... Big Grin

Cheers Tonno87.

Day three of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!

Today we travelled from Carnarvon to Exmouth via lake McLeod, quobba blowholes, past the Tropic of Capricorn, Coral Bay, and Cape Range national park.

We got up early again today, well earlier than planned, must be the heat and picked up our first cache overlooking the Gascoyne river, after stopping for a nice happy snap at the big banana!

Continuing long great northern highway we ventured to the quobba blow holes, and further down the track go wanaus02 cache and the hmas sydney memorial.

After driving back to the main road and continued for what seemed like an eternity before landing in coral bay where we went cave hopping and picked up a t4.5cache just a few meters from schools of fish and pristine untouched waters!!

Back on the road we passed through the Tropic of Capricorn collecting the ZH cache there and the obligatory photograph for the album, before continuing on towards Exmouth.

Further down the track we ventured into cape range national park tackling a number of simply awesome team red roo caches which highlighted the rugged inland caves, rocks and gorges and their near polar opposite of the crystal clear water. Loved the virtual cache here, and awarded many a favourite.

We continued into town after doing the huge loop around picking up a few caches in town including a couple of archived caches which are still in place and proudly claiming FTF on the only puzzle cache for some 500 kilometres.

A huge days caching collecting a couple of archived caches, a FTF, a virtual and couple more
LGAs. Thanks to the local COs

What did that sign say that we passed? Great view! TFTC

12-Jan-17
I contacted Tonno87 and he said there are other dirt tracks into the cache you could use. It appears to be only the main entrance that has keep out signs.

11-Jan-17
Signs say keep out. Not sure how to get the cache without breaking the law...

A quick find today (with the aid of mirrors) otherwise it may have been a DNF - I don't like spiders or webs or putting my hand into places they seem to frequent. In this case there were none about so the retrieval was quick. SL. Thanks to Tonno87 for the cache (and the view from the lighthouse is better).

25-Jul-16

Sitting down to dinner after arriving in Exmouth and completing the required work, I popped open the Geo app and what's this, new caches have been published since my last trip Big Grin.

Stuffing the remaining chicken palmy down my neck I was soon on my way to this cache.
Turning off and up the track, hmm was that a do not enter sign I passed on the way to GZ, no couldn't be!!

Hopping out I soon sussed out the correct thing to search and soon had the prize to hand. opening the log book I was surprised to see only two signatures, but hang on isn't there 4 claims online.....hmm, one and only rule guys, sign the log to claim your find!

Adding my own signature I turned around to admire the view which is still good even at night night, then off to the next one.

Thanks Tonno87 Smile
