With the forecast showing rain later in the day, we were looking for a spot that was:
- Just outside 5ks ️
- Cache ️
- Playground ️
- Short walk to other caches ️
So we started here, found the cache, checked in with the QR code and had a play on the playground before heading up Allison Court to the next cache.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Legomango9

TFTC One more on our lockdown streak. We still have plenty in our 5km range but lots are puzzles which we are new to. Some book time required.
Sad tree indeed! Beautiful corner, playground deserted on a Saturday afternoon in lockdown.
The playground was in use when I arrived. One adult was there, but as she was supervising three active youngsters and two dogs as well as knitting she paid me scant attention. I applied the hint with a bit of imagination. Tftc.
This was a speedy find in a lovely bushy area. I would describe the GZ hint rather differently though.
Eventually found the right tree but Xmas must be a sad time if your Xmas tree looks like this!
I visited the GZ in August 18, but didn't have the time for a proper search.
The trees at the GZ look a lot sadder than last year.
The cache was soon found.

Considering where we came in, this shouldn’t have taken us nearly as long as it did - we got there in the end though. TFTC
Finally found it. Geo dog was getting impatient. Thanks for bringing me here. I didn’t know the park existed TFTC
This one was a surprisingly quick find only because we came towards the cache from the right direction. Thanks for bringing us to this cute little park.
Great Scott that was harder than it needed to be. Guess it serves me right for getting over confident.
Thanks legomans for the adventure.

Headed out with Fleabag today for a few hours to start our mystery at the Museum campaign. So we headed out to an area where neither of us had found too many.
Ok found a footprint in this one. Quite exposed.
Thanks Legomango9 and Legomango's Dad for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

A cool morning but we had fresh clues to collect for the Caching Mystery Challenge. A quick find with geobuddy Spiffy- Thanks for the hide
Came past here for a park and grab, and although it was the wrong season for the hiding place to match the hint, I spotted it soon after. Thanks Legomangos
SORRY- I deleted all my logs in Cachly while trying to clean up the phone for an overseas trip.
This log is much less informative.

Arrived here and just couldn't locate what we were looking for, or thought we should be. We searched high and low and of course, everything was dripping wet. We weren't far off giving up when it was finally sighted. How did we not see that before? Doesn't matter how thorough you think you are, always pays to re-check. Thanks for the cache.

This took a while as the hint threw us off. Eventually Mrs Papi4506 spotted the hide.
Cheers Legomango9

A quick find when we were in the right area. This was the second cache where the GPS didn't want to settle, but the find was made. TFTC.
What's a non-sportsperson to do on grand final day but go cache hunting? Knew I was in the right spot for this but couldn't see it anywhere. Finally realised I was coming at it from the wrong perspective and had it in hand shortly after. TFTC.
Finally got the time to replace the muggled cache. Hanging on a tree 1 metre from the original tree
Branch it was hanging on has been snapped and looks like someone did it to take the cache. Will have to bring another over to replace it next time
We guess it's hanging up like a Christmas decoration in a tree!
Saw it shining brightly when eventually came back at the right side/angle.
Must admit the Christmas tree threw us off.

This one took me a while to find but I like being challenged. I took a closer look at where my geosenses were telling me all along, and that's when I spotted it.
Nicely hidden, thanks
Nicely hidden, thanks
This one was the hardest of this series for me today. The GPS had me just that bit far away today, but it was still well within normal satellite variation.
Out with au.fait, we stumbled around for a few minutes until the GPS settled, then spied the cache. Thanks Legomango9. Legomango's Dad
Here the phones were wandering around a bit and so were we until they settled
When the cache was soon spotted. TFTC Legomango

I haven't been to this part of Eltham before so it was nice to have a look around. At the GZ it was a quick find. TFTC.
With a few days off work and not too much caching happening over the past few weeks, I decided to head out for a half day caching. It was a cold, moist morning but great to be out in the sun when it came out. I was looking for a xmas tree but didn't see one so I went to work in finding the cache and spotted something from a distance. Bingo! Signed and replaced as found.

Sadly "life" seems to be interrupting my caching and these days I have to make a effort to find the time to even hunt out one cache...like today. I was heading up to St Helena and had 5 minutes to spare...just enough time for a quick detour and find...if I could pull it off. I spent a "frantic few minutes" wandering around a little park that I never knew existed chasing GZ...the iPhone is not the most stable or accurate GPS to use! Eventually, with the help of the Hint, narrowed my focus to one location...and bingo, there was the cache...all bright and shiny and easily seen.
Thanks Legomango9 and Legomango's Dad for an interesting...fortunately quick...distraction to the rest of my day.

We should have seen it a lot more quickly, We were scratching our heads for a while. TFTC
Parking across the gateway so we could be off the narrow road, I'd hope this would only be for a minute, but this cache took us a while to locate - lochb eventually spotted it
Out caching today with quiet1_au and GJMMelb. Again, I spotted the cache, and this time G retrieved it. TFTC
This cache had Lochb, Quiet1_au and i looking high and low before we read the hint. This narrowed down the hide type and L eventually saw the cache close to where I was standing. I retrieved the cache and logged. Thanks Legomango9

Went round in circles but eventually found it. It's a great playground a playground

Part of a caching run after a funeral for a friend.
I can't say I'm fond of this kind of hide; my usual discovery method involves a whack between the eyes.
Fortunately, the placement of this and the others of the series is such that the usual way is not an option. In the case of this second of these today, I arrived near GZ while movers were making a nearby delivery, and thought I'd be muggled... but they were out of sight when nice accurate coordinates yielded a quick find.
Thanks for the fun, Legomango9 and Legomango's Dad

On the way home from work via the circuitous route...
My phone ran just as I found this little sucker so it took me 5 minutes to retrieve, luckily the playground was quiet today...

Amazing how you can walk around and not see. Eventually found it. Log a bit wet and fragile -needs replacing so didnt sign. TFTC
Grabbing some caches with omegaman1971 today, while in this area. On this hot day it's nice for some quick caches.
Thanks Legomango9 for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

For some obscure reason I started 'Hanging Around' here. Took a few minutes to search the possible GZ area and find the cache. Gentle raining after a sharp thunder storm down-pour - the drain was running quite well. Thanks Legomango9.
Out with geokids for an afternoon of caching. They were over it by the time we arrived here (we'd only done 1!!) but were super excited as soon as they saw the playground. They wanted to play straight away but they knew better than to ignore the cache hunt. Thankfully CharliBear10 made the quick discovery. Once the log was signed and returned no sooner could I blink than they were on the playground. A great place to relax. The rain arrived as they were playing. Massive drops. That didn't deter them. However, by the time I had relinquished 5 mozzies of their right to eat me, I managed to drag them away. Sadly no more for us today.
After 4 DNF's to start my day, it so nice to have a nice easy one.
Thanks for cache Leomnango9
With the GPSr a little uncertain, we resorted to the hint but that actually took us further away. Going back to trusting the GPSr led us to the cache.
Found tonight with Trailstevo, doing a few drivebys because we ate too much roast dinner so walking, or waddling, was too difficult. TFTC
Love getting taken to these little back streets and finding new places....and caches TFTC
A nice quick find in a nice muggle free area.
Have never been down this street before, and there is even a nice little playground.

We made this our quickest and easiest find for the series and the cache was soon in hand after a short search, talk about a quiet little gem of a playground. No need to use it today as the kids were at school, thanks again Legomango9 for the cache.
After spending too much time unsuccessfully searching for another cache in Eltham I was hoping that this would be a quick find. At least I knew that I was looking for a bison. The overcast conditions caused my GPS to wander, and so did I until I took a good look at a satellite map and narrowed down my search. Another few minutes of gently tiptoeing through the grass and I spotted a hanging treasure.
Thank you Legomango9 for showing me another of your favourite places.

Out and about as (Themaccas) today with geobrother on the hunt around the eltham area. TFTC.
11/06/2016 20:20 After checking a few locations I took closer notice of the Terrain and soon found it. After the failure at the HAE#2 I was determined to make the find and after a few false starts it became clear. Luckily this is a way quieter GZ than its sibling, so I could search in relative peace. While in the area saw this cache close by, nice and easy pick up.
Thanks Legomango9

After our last DNF I was glad to pull up here and spot the cache as soon as I got out of the car. A really well hidden park that was just what the kids needed. TFTC Legomango and dad.
We felt like a walk so the car was parked at Edendale Farm and we set off for GZ. Reaching the park we looked for "tinsel" that was finally spotted at 16:50. TFTC. On to #2.
Yikes!! In all of the excitement of getting our first FTF just down the road, I completely forgot to log this one. After signing the other log - and knowing Kangadrew was on his way here - I knew there was no chance of scoring another FTF ... but, gave it a go anyway.
Pulled up on the side of the road next to two other hastily parked cars to find Kangadrew and atsmug smugly congratulating each other on their joint FTF. Despite their obvious anticipation at watching me look around for the cache while they sat back and watched with mirth - I resisted and chatted with them about some of the great caches and cachers out there instead. Really enjoyable catch-up fellas.
The CO and family then drove up, and while Kangadrew and atsmug launched into a new conversation, I quietly slipped off and found the this sneaky little tube in privacy. There are some things that shouldn't be done under prying eyes... sitting on the lavatory and collecting geocaches are just two that spring to mind.
Another great cache Legomango and Family... and 299 for Clint and Abby... now for 300!

I hoped that the weather meant that local cachers stay at home , but even though I was second to find it was good to catch up once again with FTF, Kangadrew , and 1/2 of the COs. Also great to meat a newer cache, Clint. Another catch up at the next FTF hunt to talk all things caching again. Thank for the new caches, I shall grab the other when the rain has gone
{FTF} 4:45pm
I had been down the street shopping when my phone pinged me with a list of some new caches. I always check to see whether they are close or not as we have a few local placers, and lo and behold there were 2 Hanging around in Eltham.
I quickly finished up my shopping (and forgot the wife's chocolate stash which I was meant to purchase; still not forgeven for that!) and I made it to the car within a few minutes.
It was a short drive to the second one, which I was a little cross about because I had thought of placing a cache just metres from that spot, but I got to the roundabout and saw a suspicious looking gentleman standing there with a long thin piece of paper in hand.
"So you got it then?" I postulated... "Sorry mate - you've missed it by two minutes!" was the all too smug reply. Well, there was still one in the offing so I retorted "Fine - I'll go get the other one then!"
And I kept driving.
A minute or so later I arrived at a deserted GZ and started my search.
The coords were OK, and after a couple of minutes, I spied the cache. I moved in for the kill...
And just as I laid my hands on the bullet, a familiar car screeched in behind mine and out jumped a quite excited Atsmug!
All in the fun you see, so I added his name to the scroll and put it back in place.
I made my way back to the cars and we started to chat.
Another vehicle approached and parked a short way away and Atsmug and I were approached by none other than HAE#2 FTFer Clint&Abbey. "Sorry mate - you've missed it by two minutes!" I chirped and much mirth was had.
We had a little more discussion about some other local caches who should come by but the CO himself!
I don't think there have been that many cars parked in that area, ever and we continued musing whilst the light drizzle kept on coming.
All too soon it was however time to leave - me to get my chocolateless shopping back to the geowife and everyone else to disperse. Thanks Legomango9 - I'll be back for #2 soon and looking forward to the next adventure you create.
