I had spent the day hunting cache in the Brisbane Ranges and was driving past this one on the way home so dropped in for what was expected to be a quick find and move on! Well I couldn't find anything that even remotely resembled a cache - maybe just ca che blindness but I will watch this one and try again when I am next in the area!
I beared to find this. Cache was soaked but scribbled a mark. No koalas seen! Thanks abl973 and clear skies from TeamAstro. I stopped by this cache while making my way out to Steiglitz to complete a small geocaching series. I parked my vehicle very close to GZ,and upon exiting my car, began making my way to the cache. I had a very strong idea of where I expected this hide to be, and sure enough, I was right. I located the cache extremely quickly and took it back to my car to sign the logbook. Upon opening the cache, a small amount of water dripped out. The logbook was also very wet and my pen was unable to properly sign it. I ended up shortening my name to a barely recognisable 'PagC' (see attached image). This cache has definitely seen better days and is really in need of a check-up by the CO. TFTC
A quick find after today's sporting event, helped by the fact that we'd seen something similar to the GZ as we approached Anakie from a different angle. Cache and log look like they've been exposed to some wet weather, but still managed to open, sign and return. Thanks for the cache, abl273.
TFTC!! Container was a little worse for wear, and paper a little wet but still useable. Great hiding spot!
Jinky's birthday, and I'd plotted some caches up around the Brisbane Ranges. A prosciutto ficelle and pecan sticky bun from Born and Bread, along with coffees and we were set to go! This poor lad was in the open, so we replaced it a bit more subtlely. SL, TFTC
The Logbook was unusable wet. So I replaced it with a new one. Hope that's OK.
Thanks for the cache & greetings from Switzerland

Not the greatest day for a geocaching road trip but in between showers we managed a few finds.
No trouble with this one with a quick find to geoP.

I made my way onto the range for a bit of fun, and found it while hiking up the valley in search of the mythical paper clawed Velociraptor.
After a successful hunt, what better way to celebrate than with a bit of childish frivolity? So I knocked off all but one of the remaining Fun For Kids caches I hadn't yet found.
Which popped me out here, at the southern end.
A nice quick drive-by on the way home after a fun day out.
Thanks, abl973.

Found but difficult to open as it was rusted. Log a complete mess
Found with senior Ogston girl. Tftc

Heading home but couldn't resist checking this cache out. It's the name, so much nicer than Croc Country or Snake Country! Cache is pretty rusty and looks like the log has been damp at sometime. Didn't have any replacements with me today but maybe the next person will. TFTC
Thank you for the find Just a little note put the container upside down won’t fill up for water and a beautiful sign
After doing maintenance on my own cache nearby decided to try and find this one... my son soon had the cache in hand.. log book was wet but still able to sign it

I didn’t see any koalas here today but the nearby cache guardians sure were barking up a storm! They settled down after a little while and the cache was soon spotted. It’s amazing how it blends in so well. The view from here is pretty. The nearby garden has some cool stuff in it. I noticed it when I was signing the log. By the way, the magnet is super strong, or maybe it was just me! TFTC
Heading done to Geelong this morning for the 2 events that are on in the area today and then the 2 events near Ballarat tomorrow.
I left home nice and early to hopefully find a few caches in the morning on the way down.
Continuing along backroads that I have never travelled on before I made to the base of the Brisbane Ranges NP.
Now this is a place I must come back to but that is for another day.
Plenty of room to pull over off the road to look for this one.
Interesting facts about where the population originated from for the National Park.
One thing is that you have to watch out for the drop bears.
Soon located the cache and onto the next one.
Thanks abl973 TFTC.

Out for some exercise with Bogonghazy. Beautiful day. Thanks for placing the geocache.
Pulling up to GZ you know exactly where it's going to be!! TFTC. Logbook was all damp but it must be one of those fancy waterproof logs as it still easy to write on.
A quick find whilst passing by this afternoon. Kept my eye out for koalas but didn't spot any. TFTC

A cool Sunday afternoon was a great time to go and do some caching a little further from home. We found this cache nice and quickly. We had left the geodogs in the geomobile and were very lad we had as a greyhound came loping out and sniffing around the geomobile and the both of us. Our geodogs were going nuts inside the geomobile. We quickly signed the log and then jumped back in the geomobile and got out of Dodge. The log is pretty close to full and getting quite tattered, but otherwise in good condition. Thank you for this cache abl973.

Michael was on to this one quickly and we continued on our way.

With The ring of Swiss cheese coming down we could now catch up with our Metro Mates, so once again I teamed up with Omegaman1971 and headed to the Geelong area to do some of the many labs and several caches in the area. We had a great time exploring the area. Today We started in Geelong but got a little frustrated with suburban caching so we headed to the Brisbane Ranges to do the Fun for kids trail.
This was one of the caches we found today.
Thanks abl973 for the cache.

Found today while on our way to Daylesford , log is damp but writeable. No sign of koala here. Many thanks for the cache
Heading out to Fairy Park today and the boys were both still asleep.
That leaves me with a spare 10minutes to grab this cache.
never seen any Koala's out here, in Bris ranges or Anakie gorge.
I'm sure they are about.
At least they were present today at GZ.

Tftc quick find with all the dogs barking in the area. Log is damp but I still managed to sign it.
One day in frozen UK,
We drove to the drop off bay.
Took off high and came down in Australia.
With not much to bring
Bar a satisfied grin,
Less than 800 caches to my name
Then along came a virus
Which sat down beside us
And cancelled my home going plane.
We stuck to the rules
Stayed mostly indoors
But gradually sanity left us.
So with no real plans
But sanitized hands
We set off for a wood full of caches.
Of 1000 I never
Dreamed I would ever
Catch on this trip to down under
But I've stayed here so long
That it wouldn't be wrong
To think I could hit this great number.
Like this cache host, jolly strong magnet! Deployed a trade mark gummy bear. Tftc

27 May 2020,nice quick one on our way to finish off some at Stieglitz. Got some water plants from a farm, checked out a nursery...on a roll!
Driving home from a day in the gorge and grabbed this quick cache near the drop bears. Thanks for the hide
Catching up on some logging from the past few months. This one was a quick stop off along the way on a day's caching. Some council workers were nearby but otherwise engaged while I ducked in and made the find. Thanks for the cache abl973.
This caching day started off in a fine way, but the weather changed as time went by and the last few we ended up finding in the rain with ilook4geo.
This was a very quick and easy find as a driving muggle passed by very slowly, clearly wondering what was the attraction here.
Log was signed, all was put back and we were on our way again. Thank you to abl973 for this cache placement.

Found this cache after coming along with goingplaces2 for a morning's treasure hunt. We found what we wanted, signed each log and then replaced each one where it belonged. It was a good hunt for the day. TFTC.
Enjoying the sunshine on this stunning day after spending last few days in bed sick. A quick and easy find as I make my way towards 500 finds today. Tftc

Nearby doing maintenance in the Brisbane Ranges and saw this as we came down the hill to Staughton Vale. Good coords soon had us looking at the appropriate spot and it was duly found. Some ferocious magnet that one. Nice one. Thanks.
Lokking looking for Koalas but no luck. Found cache instead just as good. CIGC TNLN TFTC

16:00, August 5, 2018, #896, out with AliFS and OzHockeyChick doing a few in this area on our way home from doing the kids series just up the road. Nice quick park n grab, we literally just stopped looking for caches and look what we are next to haha. Thanks abl973. TFTC.

Out on this sunny day with BoatieTim and AliFS to do the nearby Fun for Kids series.
Grabbed this quick one on the way back. The barking dogs in the nearby property broke through the fence to come to see what we were up to. Just as well they were friendly.
Cheers abl973

We're out for an afternoon drive to see the sights and grab some caches, of course Thanks for bringing us here.
Very glad of this nice simple cache after some of my adventures earlier today TFTC alb1973
Most koalas we've seen have been up trees.
Although I did come across one on a round about in Wonga Park one day.
A nice quick find here with +Wife.

After completing the Legends series I made my way home through the Brisbane Ranges. It is indeed Koala Country around here - I've seen a koala just 2 metres away from me in this area.
Thanks abl973.
Thanks abl973.
The geo family had decided on going for a walk in the Brisbane Ranges this morning. We packed a small bag of things and off we went, taking a route we wouldn't normally, so we could detour for this cache. We were hopefully of seeing koalas today, but nothing spotted unfortunately. But we found this cache quickly with some pop up ones. Stamped and replaced as found.
**Thanks to abl973 for hiding this trad cache for us to find and enjoy**

A last minute road trip for the day to visit the Ozone wreck (so awesome!) nearby before we (Team Clarmensma - myself, GemmaSistema, neisha07, boo09, LukeSistema & AdamSistema) headed home via a few strategic detours.
A great day had at the beach and caching our way home.
This was a nice quick series that the kids enjoyed helping with - the adults didn't even leave the car for a few! TFTC

When I finished my Wednesday morning Motorcycle ride at Anakie today, I figured I might as well pick up the Fairy Park cache after not having an opportunity to look for it the one time I've been to Fairy Park. With this cache so close and on the way home I thought another quick park and grab would help with the stats.
The description helped me park close enough to minimise my walk to GZ, even though I was travelling in the opposite direction. Like Fairy Park I thought I had a good idea where the cache would be and unlike Fairy Park, I was right. A quick park and walk across the road and the cache was quickly retrieved.
The cache is in good condition.

First time caching in quite a while with the geokid who suggested it. What a better intro back than a trip out to anakie! Thank you
