We really hate leaving a DNF but we just can't see this one. We have just come down the hill and we have not been here before so we're unsure of the tide speed so are not wanting to hang around to long incase we get caught by the tide with the little legs with us. We will be back to try and turn this yellow. TFTC

11-May-24
very much hard to find

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and the nephew and niece… After running a few errands, we decided it was time for a bit of cache hunting. We had a small window of time to kill - about three hours - and knew exactly where to go… Duder Regional Park.

This one proved to be quite tricky. We climbed around, on and over ground zone taking care to look into all of the little nooks and spaces. After several minutes, it didn’t look very promising. We found a bit of wood lying on the ground and picked it up for inspection. While examining closely, we spotted an unusual object on the periphery… Thanks stevecoxnz and TFTC.

28-Sep-22
A nice day for a walk in Duders, and the tide is out so we took the track on the south coast out to the point and returned along the beach. 10 Finds and 1 DNF.
One of us located this one pretty quickly - lucky he started the search in the right place. Felt a bit sorry for that cow! TFTC

05-May-22
Couldn't locate

20-Apr-22
This could have been extremely tricky and time consuming, but I've learned to pay attention to details and a previous log gave me a push and help me narrow down the possible hiding spots. It was quick once I realised that - but had I not, I'd probably still be there. Nice container Smile

19-Mar-22
On my way to 1000!

Lucky quick spot here! Tftc

19-Mar-22

Awesome

13-Sep-20
Out and about today with some of the Team Seac crew trying to tidy up some of the green dots in Duders today.

As we walked towards this one I thought what sort of item we would be looking for but the others told me this phrase meant something else that I was not aware of. Turns out I was right though Smile.

Thanks for the cache.

13-Sep-20
Out with some of the Team SEAC team today.

01-Apr-20
Due to the covid 19 situation I will be disabling all my caches until we no longer have to self isolate. Anyone logging one after this date will have the log deleted. Stay safe.

18-Feb-20
Didn't figure out what I should be looking for until the next cache along. As I had limited searching time (tide coming in and a long way to go still) I missed this one.

10-Dec-19
What a fabulous tre with so many roots. June vegetation is choking all the holes and even knowing there was a tell-tale sign to see we couldn’t find either the ca or what it was attached to. Thanks for bringing us here.

10-Dec-19
Shame on us - we had to give up, although not without an intensive search. Never mind - on to the next!

09-Nov-19

02-Jun-19
All good here. Cool cache. On a road trip with part of Team BOP which includes myself, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan. To save room we have signed BoP and I am logging using the Cachly app Ctemplate so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers

02-Jun-19
Found with part of teambop Tnxpro and McJandals log signed teambop. Come up from BOP to Duders for the day.

02-Jun-19
Another impromptu trip for TeamBOP,. Only 3 of us today consisting of myself, Davidsonclan and McJandals.
Have been meaning to get up here for a while now, so glad to have finally visited this wonderful park.
This one took us a little longer than the others but got the clever cache. Quick pregnancy test to reveal the log. Rooted indeed.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Tftc.

02-Jun-19
Visiting Duders Regional Park for an afternoon walk with a bit of geocaching on the side. Looks like we are following in Team BOP's footsteps. This one took us a while but as we knew it had already been found today there was no chance of us giving up. Evetually Kiwi noticed something from above and directed Scotty to its location for retrieval. All good. Fav point given for the fun cache and location. Smile

23-Feb-19
Dammit, even climbed the tree to look there, found a fantail but no cache. . Next time.

23-Dec-18
This was udderly well hidden.

18-Nov-18
After failing to get the dolphin cache we were even more determined to find the cow.Struggled at first as the gps took us to the wrong place but there was only one other area to search with a hint like that and after reading a previous log which gave us an extra clue to exactly what we were looking for it wasnt much longer before we made our find.great cache container.

17-Oct-18
Holy cow! Mooo! TFTC!

22-Sep-18
Out with the Auckland Meet Up Group today going around the coastal part of this park. Good company, good chat.

It really is a nice walk around here isnt it

I had few DNFs in Duder Regional Park and today was good time to change them to a yellow smile with Meetup Group! Last time when I was here cache was missing. Thanks for replacement. Nice one. TFTC

22-Sep-18
Out at Duder Regional Park with a group from Meetups to cache the area. Great to have great company on our walk around the park. It was helpful to have 7 pairs of eyes to make our finds. Signed as Meetups to save space on the logs. No problems here. SL. TFTC.

22-Sep-18
Headed out this way to join up with The Auckland Geocachers Meetup group to cache at Duder's Reserve.

There were many hiding spots for this one, but we eventually hunted it down. Signed as Meetup to save on space.

22-Sep-18
Out for a walk around Duders at low tide with the Auckland Geocaching Meetup Group. Logs signed AKMU or Meetup Group. Took quite a bit of searching to locate this one, but eventually given away by the nylon fishing line. Stopped here for a bite to eat, after our 14th cache of the walk.

20-Sep-18
Nearly missed that one. All intact

09-Sep-18
Took a few minutes to spot this one which we initially missed on the first look. After trying quite a few other places we were thinking about giving up I looked around one more corner and spotted the cache. All good here. TFTC

06-Jul-18
Had a friend staying with us and wanted to introduce her to geocaching, while also seeing the sights of Auckland. Duders is such a beautiful park, and the weather turned it on today. I don't know how on earth we missed it the first time around as it was a reasonably quick find. Forgot a pen this time around so took a photo of the log which I can provide to the CO if needed

17-Jun-18
Quick find, thanks

09-Jun-18
Cool little hiding place!

09-Jun-18
Found even though GPS was directing us to somewhere else - went to obvious spot where hint was taking us

19-May-18
Ha ha ....nice and easy ...enjoyed your animals series here today thanks Steve....
All good...in place!
On to the next...

26-Mar-18
Find number 3848. My mission today was collect points for the Planetary Pursuit challenge. I had 255 and needed 230 and then attend an event tonight to reach the final. I left Hamilton at 4.30 am heading to Duders Regional Park. I got the first cache at 6.30 am and by 3.00 am I had achieved the necessary. A total of 33 caches found and 9 not found. (Well not extensively looked for) The weather was great and I had a good walk around the park. Some lovely views and some great caches. Then it was a sleep in the car for a couple of hours before heading in for the night event. Some fish n chips at GZ while I watched the sunset. Then after the event it was home to Hamilton by 10.30 pm.
I soon spotted the cache. Once again a smile. Especially when I saw where to log was. Signed and returned. Then it was time to moove on to the next one. Cache all good. Thank you for the placement.

26-Mar-18
full log later

11-Mar-18
Fast find of the wee cowabunga. Just where I expected it to be.

28-Feb-18

28-Jan-18
No luck here, but I see it has since been replaced.

28-Jan-18
As per CO's note no longer here

11-Jan-18
The recent storm took it's toll on some of my caches..........this was one of them. Will replace soon.

09-Dec-17
DNF searched in few places but no joy here.

Came at low tide along the beach. Found it immediately. Pew. I was lucky (these big trees seem to have roots everywhere and thousands o f them). Tftc

06-Aug-17
Loved the cow! Hahaha

08-May-17
The goal for today is cleaning out "again" Duder Park with a pre-stop at the Clevedon Farmers Market for some Deutsche Brezel's and coffee. Yessss, Cowabunga!!! Enjoyed a cloudy, but great day out in the park with Evilno9 and TheMexican. TFTC

07-May-17
Spotted a mysterious someone as we were searching here who seemed to know what we were up to but provided no additional info - no bother though as we made a reasonably quick find here to continue along the coast before the tide came in. TFTC

25-Apr-17
This elusive cow got the better of us on our last attempt but once we saw the CO had been to check on her and confirmed she was still there the urge to return was too strong to ignore. So after drinking a glass of milk for good luck we headed out determined to turn our DNF into a smiley.
There were a couple of fisherman very close to GZ but fortunately they were too busy catching fish to notice us cow wranglers lurking nearby.
An initial look left us empty handed but during a second more methodical search we suddenly spotted her.
How did we not see her last time?? We would have done a victory dance had it not been for the close proximity of the fishermen so a high five and a quiet moo had to suffice.
Due to the position of the log it was extracted subtly to maintain the cows dignity and returned with the same level of care.
Thanks stevecoxnz for a great hide and for going to the trouble of checking on the cache to give us the motivation for a second attempt.

22-Apr-17
Went to check on cache today. A nice long walk to place my hand on it straight away. Mind you .....I know where it should be so I have a distinct advantage. Maybe bring a torch to help look into the root system Smile

16-Apr-17
We had a good look for this one but it eluded us this time around. Even tried to PAF who had retrieved it before but still no luck. Next time.

11-Feb-17
The cow was being stubborn today and didn't want to be found. We checked many nooks and crannies but couldn't spot her. But we love this area so are pleased to have a reason to come back another day.

06-Feb-17
Mr P's turn to find the cache - he was surprised when he made the find. It was fabulous walking on the sea shore. T4tc

04-Feb-17
Log to follow

28-Jan-17
Camping the weekend with Vamber at Omana Campsite and set off to do as many of the caches at Duder Regional Park today. This took forever!! We must have gone round the tree several times, each. Just about given up when I checked the first place and stuck my hand in a bit further and there it was, phew. logged as KKKT, thanks for the cache

28-Jan-17
We were out camping with KirsTim for the long weekend, staying at Omana Regional Park. Today we had set off to find many of the caches at Duder Regional Park. Gosh, this one took us such a long time to find! We were searching all over and all around the tree, and of course, it was where many of us searched a few times over and over, we just needed to dig in a bit deeper. Glad to have knocked this one off. Signed the log as KKKT, respective of each of our first names, in order to save log space. Thanks for the cache!

25-Jan-17
No luck for us today, kids tired after their efforts so Mum abandoned the search rather than be her usual persistent self as not in the mood for a mega meltdown. Will be back as still plenty in the park for us to find.

17-Jan-17
MrNZT still needed his cache of the day so suggested a nice walk out to Duders to claim one of the unfound caches out in the park. Was a lovely evening for it so we set off with this cache in mind, allowing for MrsNZT's dodgy knee. the Tide was on the way back in but we had plenty of time to rock hope around a couple of bays and passed a family who were camping nearby. Got to GZ and started searching in the likely places, MrNZT finally made the find as he wasn't going to DNF after the walk to get here! signed the log and then started to head back. as we got closer tot he car park we realised we were cutting it a bit fine for the gate closure but luckily we passed through the gate at 8:55pm, plenty of time to spare for the 9pm closure!!! phew!!

Our adventures didn't stop there as we also helped a young couple jump start their car on the way back around the coast and finally had a late dinner when we got home. Thanks for the adventure, fav point for a great night!

11-Jan-17
Always enjoyed the TMNT, not to mention their cool hideout. Didn't take long for this cache to be revealed, cowabunga dude !

26-Dec-16
Great cache hide took a bit of searching then finally felt something....think it moo'ed at me even, tftc gets a fav from me

22-Dec-16
GPS seemed to jump around sporadically but we concentrated our search in the most obvious location the hint was referring to. Without having much luck we were beginning to doubt we were in the right place. All that was needed was a little more patience and we got lucky, obviously didnt look/feel hard enough in some of those hard to reach places as the cache is most certainly there. Pohutukawa tree is in full flower and looked stunning against the aqua blue water of the fast approaching tide. TFTC! Big Grin

30-Oct-16
Good excuse for another walk along this beautiful coastline - hopefully next time.

22-Oct-16
I actually climbed the tree as part of trying to find the cache, and the first and the second pass didn't work. Finally after a snack, I went back to searching and made the discovery.

24-Sep-16
This cache gave us a bit of grief. Looked here & there, looked harder, and eventually TF did the honours. We had all been so close but had just needed to look harder. Glad to earn the smiley. TFTC Big Grin

24-Sep-16
Out and about with Trout-fly and avoyager to clean up the Duder caches since our last visit. Managed to locate them all and a great day to be out before the bad weather came in. All logs signed TF, TW, AV or TW, TF, AV or AV, TW, TF or something like that. Many thanks for all the caches we found today. This one took the longest, we all looked where the cache was found but obviously not hard enough. TF got there in the end.

24-Sep-16
Out and about with AV and TW to finish off what we started some months ago, which was to find all the Duders caches. Started early, so had no worries with the weather and had a pleasant stroll around the park collecting caches. Logs signed mostly with initials TF, AV & TW. Took a lot longer here that it ought to have. Thanks.

10-Sep-16
Bugger another DNF today, but now reading past logs I feel I was in the right spot. A definate repeat visit coming up
