A nice easy find on a sunny day. I bet the properties here dont come cheap. The cache has no lid but the log is dry. TFTH
Walked towards area ..pinpointed corner on the map. Super quick hands on it luckily as it was very dark.. log signed by torchlight Mrs Stik-a-crane - Having an extended weekend retreat away at a friend's house indulging in my crafting hobby, surrounded by lovely friends and too much food. Out for an evening walk with kakesnz getting her step count up and myself exercising off too much food consumption.
In Whitianga with friends and Mrs Stik-a-crane & I went for a walk with some fresh air & finding caches the prime motivation. With one find already this evening we carried on walking & made another quick find. No viewing the waterway canals though as it was dark. TFTC
It's school holidays so I don't have work. That's why I can cache any day of this week. We are using all 2 weeks and a couple days more on this Coromandel trip.
Found and signed this cache last week but forgot to log in here. Lots happening round this area building wise. TFC
Dull day weather-wise, so good for picking up a few caches whilst were holidaying in the Whitianga area. Thanks to the hint the cache was a quick find. #7046. TFTC.
On our journey through New Zealand today a trip from Whitianga to Orewa. Of course we seek some peace and quiet at a few geocaches. Fortunately, they are also here. Thank you very much to CO for laying this cache. With warm geocache greetings from the Netherlands
Staying at the local NZMCA park in our Motorhome. Walked over to grab this one, had to bring it back to grab Nmyy tweezers to retrieve the log.
Cheers

Camped in town for the night at the fabulous NZMCA camp. Had some spare time this visit to grab a few local caches.
No problem with the find for this one TFTC.

Seeing as I stayed overnight at the NZMCA park nearby, I wandered over this morning with a nice new piece of log paper to replace the full log. Nice easy find here, before heading off, cheers
So my daughter has finished high school, done the graduation and all. She did not want to go to schoolies, so we decided to spend a week in New Zealand.
Cache 19 for the trip.
So up early to grab a few caches in Whitianga before we move on, and to then grab some breakfast.
The cache has a missing lid I think. Was very wet and could not sign. Took a photo as proof of my visit and returned it to its spot.

We were staying at the NZMCA park by here, so I wandered out for a walk.
Too many many muggles when I went past so I grabbed it on the way back.
It's an interesting development alright!
Thanks for setting this up
The log book is full

Collected this cache on our way out of Whitianga heading home. Quick found while looking at the boats moored nearby.
Staying in Whitianga for a long weekend and doing some caches while we are here. Thanks to the cache owner for placing this cache.
Resorted to the hint as muggles very close. Mrs 3 Mr 0 so far for the day.

After leaving coromandel and heading to whitianga thought why not get a couple of cache and go to the supermarket and head for home. With xsaveya and watcache.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up in Whitianga for the next few days … thought it would be rude to not to check out a nearby cache … we are literally parked about 50m away from it … this one was an easy find, completed the log & replaced it … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,793 for us.
Last find for the evening and ready to get home and have a cuppa. A nice find, lid of cache broken unfortunately but log still intact. TFTC
Couldn't get the full picture of the project here in the dark tonight but we could still hear all the partying going on in town from here. TFTC # 18,366
Out for another morning bike ride to find more G2 caches. More BIG boats. We did have a laugh with all the motor homes camped out overlooking the high priced houses. Not ideal when you’ve paid a couple of mill or more. TFTC
I had a few hours to myself this afternoon without the family so wondered off to clear out the caches in Whitianga. I was hoping for a relaxing drive and cache and it was! With majority G-2 caches, it was sure it was going to be a difficult afternoon. Thank goodness it wasn't as the sun was out in full force. Perhaps G-2 was feeling merciful at Whitianga!
Quick find. TFTC

Staying very close by. I wondered what the round pink thing was bobbing up and down. A closer look...it was a lady swimming with a pink swim cap on! A Quick find. TFTC
Quickly found here and stopped to enjoy the view as a muggle appeared while we were signing the logbook. Once the cost was clear the cache was returned to its hiding spot.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, G_2

Fun place to stand and watch the world grow uniform around tamed water ways. The cache reminded me of a little fishy. Very sweet.

Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
Taking partner on her birthday surprise after covid canceled it in August. Just one more sleep nice easy find.
Cheers, Cympull.

Staying in Whitianga for a few days. Parked up at the motor camp that’s only 100m away. Enjoying all the waterways and a quick find
here. Thanks.
here. Thanks.
What an absolute cutie! Haven’t seen a cache like this before. Lovely placement. Thanks for the information on the developments. I’m from Hamilton up for some bereavement leave unfortunately but this cache was so cute it made me happy. Thanks for the info, seems this little pocket of heaven will be expanding to all sort of sizes
#9691. I have been at a conference in Thames for the past 2 days. Its now Queens Birthday Monday and I have a chance to pick up a few caches around the Coromandel, especially the TMGT caches. Problem is the rain has arrived and its quite heavy at times. Overall however I managed to find quite a few caches in the gaps between the rain showers. Couldn't stop to do this on the way into Whitianga as we had a ***** (you add your favourite word) pressed hard up on my bumper as we drove down this road. I hate highly aggressive drivers. Stopped on the way out to pick it up. My muggle friend raced back and made a quick find of the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks G-2 for hiding it here.
Coromandel day exploration with evilC. Not something we expected here, interesting! TFTC!!
We are away for 10 days touring around and collecting caches as we go along
We came over from Coromandle to Fitty as it was raining over the other side and as we were staying at the campervan park by the canels it was time to get out on my bike and do some caching
This one was about 40 M from our camper van

Day 3 of my week long road trip of geocaching, camping and seeing a few bands. Today I'm hanging out in Whitianga, seeing the sites and doing some goecaches. For the first time I am using the cachetur.no website and app to plan out my caching, and it's proving to be a handy wee tool.
Found as described, although no longer a mint tin. TFTC

Great view of the waterways. Got this one tagged. Cheers. Zara is parked at the NZMCA park which backs onto one of these canals. Missed seeing the expansion projest. bummer.
Day 8 - Christmas Day - Friday 25 December - Whitianga - Its the 'There N Back' series on the radar for today, with a few stragglers around Whitianga still to scoop up.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

Intersting what G-2 says in that this project may run out to the 2030s. That would explain why I see there is so much map updating that needs doing. Will get that sorted in a week or so, when I have most of this logging donw (It is January 12 as I write this up)
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Mr 10 found this while we admired the canel. Bit windy today. Blew away the cobwebs
I stayed in Whitianga, but went over to Cook's Beach today to redeem some DNFs from our Christmas trip in 2017.
On my way out, I had top stop and find a few caches to get warmed up. TFTC.

Out and about for a few days for a bit of a road trip around the Coromandel area. Day Two of my road trip. I started my travels in Thames and ended my day in Whitianga. I parked across the road and along a bit then walked back to GZ. Found as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.
Unexpected long weekend! Off to Coromandel then...I like the hint? Nice and handy... TFTC
Quick find on a very breezy day. This will be glorious when finished. Oh to have the money to buy a spot. Replaced as found. Thanks.
Out today in the area grabbing a few caches.
Nice easy find here.
On to the next.
Greetings from the UK.

Getting some exercise on the bach bike and made a quick find by feel here. Passed a grumpy older couple on bikes going the other way as I left. Didn’t smile or even reply as I greeted them with a cheery smile and “hi!”. Misery gutses! Thanks for the cache smiley though!
Even more windy here....don't drop the log!! Interesting to see that the canal finishes right here and there is a lot of new housing popping up across the road. Thanks
We pulled in here for a quick find, having come to Whitianga primarily to grab the Geo Tour caches on offer. Thanks for the hide G-2.
After being to the Tuia Matauranga roadshow I was off to locate and sign off a few of the local caches.
Continued my walk and decided to tie my shoelace. Had to do it twice.
Cheers for the cache.

Quit park and grab. Crossed road to see what was going on and saw just how much work went into the creation of the camels. TFTC
Find number 5809. Middle of winter and only light traffic in the area. I was able to enjoy the view as I signed the cache. Thank you for the placement.
Found on my trip north enjoying the caches. Better weather today so need to catch up on caches that I missed yesterday because of the rain
Amazing houses and projects going on here. Must be the celebratory project completion party to a massive house design tonight. Maybe 100 people gathered at the mansion across the water. Amazing!
Early morning Caching Mission to see what was up the Coromandal Peninsula, and working our way back from Whitianga down to Whangamata. This way we would leave enough caches to make the cache run worth it, hitting it from the south which would make it an easier day next time.Today I was in the company of HKCB, (logs were generally signed HKCD) and we soon set in putting the world to rights, discussed may sports and enjoyed good music, caches along with fantastic sunshine.Managed a total of 63 caches and only 3DNF's so all in all a pretty good outcome. We set out from home, departing at 3am with a long drive, and big day ahead of us. The good thing at this time is that there are very few other cars to worry about on the winding roads. We eventually made it back home by 4.30pm.
Starting to head out of town now, its still dark and another quick find before heading south for a few more caches.
A big thank you to all the cache owners for their diligence in maintaining these caches for the likes of us to enjoy.

While we were here we thought this was my 12000th cache but we had miscounted by a few. Nice easy find here. TFTC!!!

Thanks for bringing me here

On the homeward journey today via a maintenance run on the 309, with a few cache finds thrown in. Nice to to see this area well developed now. Nice hide. SL. TFTC.
Parked right next to this one - and some dude on a bike had to go around our car - oh well

On a big mission to get a pile of caches so I can land my 7000th cache on either Mnt Ruapehu or Mnt Ngauruhoe on the 16th March! Hoping, weather permitting, that rustynz can join me for her 5000th cache as well on the same day. A bit of planning going into this I can tell ya!
I was minding my own business when I passed by this canal, (oh here we go again, I'm never going to be able see a canal in the same way ever again)....lol! OK, let's call it a waterway for now. I parked up as I realised there was a cache here and walked back to view the area. If you want to make homes worth a huge amount more than they're worth... throw in a waterway so the wealthy can not only drive to their homes but sail to them as well!
The cache was far more simpler to deal with, but I nearly dropped it in the water. That would have been fun!!

Found after owner replaced it. As we were staying at NZMCA Park next door, we located and logged a find before we left town. Thanks for replacing the missing cache.
May have gone awol.... No sign of anything at all on Bridge, either side, either end. Checked them all just in case.
