I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi yorkshirekiwi83This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
Pretty obvious spot, nothing from quick look. Had offered to replace for CO but he’s planning on archiving the lot.
I looked everywhere and for good 1/2 hr.
Worst DNF I ever had. Followed hint and still no go.

A quick find right where I suspected (having read the clue as a storm was looming and the light was fading)
I had a look at getting this cache on my previous visit to this location but I deemed it to be too muggly. That meant a cache just down the road was my highest elevation find so I was keen to improve on that today if I could. It was fairly quiet when we visited and I was able to quickly find the cache. The logsheet wasn't in great shape and could do with being replaced.
What a great name for a road!
What a great name for a road!
Today we had hiked to the crater rim. On the way back, we rewarded ourselves with a few caches.

Decided to check out Whakapapa even though the SkyWaka was closed. Signed the log. TFTC!
Climbed Mt. Ruapehu today and of course tried some caches. Found this one on our way back to the carpark. Tftc!
After we climed the dome from Mount Ruapehu we found the Cache on the way to the carpark.
Found this before heading up the Sky Waka, was out in the open so I tucked it back in. Log book was slightly damp and I think nearly full.
lovely sunny day to explore the alpine plants and flowers.. quite a few people arriving to use the sky waka
Perfect spot for our 1000th find on a perfect day of the year to celebrate too
Passing on the way to the Top of the Bruce for a ride in the Sky Waka. Great views today. Nice and quiet today, not many muggles around. Thanks for hiding yorkshirekiwi83.
Finally after a few years we had a solid chance to find it without being spotted on Christmas Day 2023.
Checked in in the campground and had time.
The weather is very good today so I did some caches more.
Thanks.

So sad to see this place has gone into receivership. An amazing location with some fantastic geology! TFTC!
Me and my friends went to find this Chace and we almost gave up. It was raining heavily and we were all soaked but we found it by crawling about 5 meters under the deck. We singed it and put it back in a slightly closer spot but still out of sight from people walking by
Couldn’t sign it as a. Didn’t have a pen, and b. It was frozen in ice! I’ve put it back in it’s spot, hopefully it will thaw out and I can sign it tomorrow!
Stay safe!

Came up here for the day to ride the SkyWaka and have lunch up the top. On the way back down we had a quick look for this one. We couldnt easily see it, and started attracting attention from muggles, so gave away the search. It is probably there but we just couldn't easily see it. Thanks anyway.
#1921. Day 3 in Turangi for a well deserved post-Covid break with GB Leader. Last time we stayed here, 6 years ago, I was a brand new geocacher. Seems like yesterday!
Today we drove to Mt Ruapehu and enjoyed our first ride on the Sky Waka. So quiet! Great views. No caches in easy reach up there, but we picked up 7 caches from the Top of the Bruce down to SH47. This was the first. Nice easy find. Not a muggle to be seen at this time of the year. They are all going up the Sky Waka!
Tftc yorkshirekiwi83.

Quick find while staying at the Chateau after completing the Tongariro Northern Circuit. Tftc.
Found! Just in time before the weather kicked in. Left the pen in the car so photo as evidence.
We decided to head up the Sky Waka for our morning coffee. We collected this one on our way back to the car.
After a short hike at Taranaki Fall, we went up the mountain to visit the sky field. Very few people around. It was a straight forward find, while little cacher finished his meal seating by GZ. The log was a bit wet.
Awesome to see Whakapapa village. Looking forward to coming back in winter with the kids. Thanks
Wet log book. Tried to dry it in the sun for a while but worried it would blow away : )
Final qualifying cache for the "reach for the sky" challenge (or whatever it's called)
Found on a road trip around the central North Island, targeting Geotour caches. More when I get home. TFTC

A weekend trip was planned awhile ago to venture up to national park with watcache and xsaveya and hopefully up the mountain to have a play in the snow. Having such a fun weekend and caching as well tops the weekend.

Had alot of rain up here last few days and today. Snow was in plenty. Cache located in between all the muggles but very damp as last cacher also noted.
Hi very good hiding spot for you for a minute thought that the thing that was in was a torch very good hiding spot. Log book is a bit damp
Came here to do the sky waka today and took the opportunity to find this cache. Beautiful day for it. TFTC
Having not visited the Top'o'the'Bruce for several years I was totally surprised at the changes! As the Sky Waka was closed due to inclement weather we decided to circumnavigate the mountains vis the Desert Road arriving in Whakapapa Village in the early afternoon. As we made our way up, stopping to do a couple of walks and grab a couple of caches, the clouds began lifting and we got glorious views of Mt Ruapehu with an early dusting of snow. Better yet, when we got to the top of the Meads Wall walk Mt Ngauruhoe was on full display. A lovely afternoon to visit after a rather wet start. TFTC
After almost giving up on searching for this one I extended my search radius as I do before I admit defeat and luckily I did as I found it around the corner from the Tesla charging station tucked under the edge of the building.
Hasn’t been found since last year so I’m not sure what the other geocachers have found?
Anyway I have put back underneath the ramp at the lowest part of ramp.
Thanks for the adventure

Nice quick find whilst in the area collecting these caches before they disappear.

I was hoping that it would clear up as the morning progressed, but it seems to be the opposite, and can hardly see two metres in front of me due to the fog. Just makes it all the more interesting. TFTC
On a wee roadie round the central North Island...We'd been stymied by bad weather on the way north, so pleased to see blue skies on our way home. After a much anticipated ride on the Sky Waka, I turned my attention to leaving my mark in the area. Thankful for bumping into a geocacher from days gone by... without his longer arms, not sure I could have done this alone TFTC
Found on a gorgeous summer day’s caching with JIZTMaGiC. Took a bit of a search but got there! TFTC!
Staying at Turangi camp, bought back memories of the great fun MEGA time here a few years ago and decided to travel the Sky Waka, a great day ad no snow, never seen the mountain without snow before. It was a bit cold for us northerners but the views were worth it. Unfortunately despite having the freedom to have a really good look here (not too many muggles) we couldnt find it.
So, the parallel universe saga continues... The last entry in the one I found in from almost a year ago... I had to reach/clamber quite a bit in, so I have no idea where the other container would be... TFTC!!
lovely lunch at the pinnacles restaurant at the top of the sky waka. definitely worth the cost. no luck with finding the cache though
Up in Whakapapa with Vistra on a day trip from Rotorua. A quick walk by and grab on the way to the Skywaka. TFTC
Found after a mean day skiing. Got last chair so not many muggles around. TFTC
Quick find TfTC, my son has been asking to see snow for 9 years. So we grabbed a cache and a snowball fight
On our way back from the big mountain we were looking for a few caches. Thanks for this one. Scary landscape!

Found with AF BEE, 6ftzpr&1/2zip, and ondago while on a geocaching vacation. Thanks for placing this cache.
After completing the crossing yesterday we were after some nice relaxing activities to fill the morning before I headed back to Wellington. We went up the gondola for lunch (which was evacuated due to fire alarm!) We found this one once we had descended back down.
I fell in love with the national park yesterday as I planed a.short day trip south of Taupo before heading back north.... so much for the plan. I changed my mind quickly as I laid my eyes on Mt Ruapehu that cast a spell over me (so to speak).
Well, today I am on my way to Ohakune where I'll spend the following two nights. Of course, I had to stop, taking the Whakapapa lift on the top. It was worth the time and money.
I. Was. Speachless. Embracing. The. Powerful. Moment.
If course, this cache couldn't hide very long as I was on my mission to the top.

Today we visited Tongariro National Park. Cause we have problems with the knee or ankle, we could not walk or hike. So we rode the gondola. On the way we stopped at the caches: Virtual Reward - A Kiwi Legend (National Park, GC7B6DF), Tongariro National Park (Central Plateau, GC6KB3M) and Bruce Road 2-4 (GC6KF47, GC6KF4D and GC6KF4K). All cans were quickly found with the precise hints.
Many thanks to the owners for laying and maintaining.

Found after my husband and I had been up the mountain in the Sky Waka and walked up to the ridge! It took a few moments to wait for all the muggles to leave. TFTC
Found after taking the gondola up for a lovely beer on a beautiful summer day.

From Auckland, our next stop at the North Island was the Tongariro National Park. Not only the beautiful - so different - landscape made us visiting it. Also our love the Lord of the Rings movies. So our first exciting view, of course, was the "Mt. Doom". But after all, we decided to visiting "Mordor".
Unfortunately my partner cannot do this walk from the Chateau, so we hired a transfer shuttle up the Iwakau village, using the Bruce Road, of course. The first look was for this cache. It was still early in the morning, so we had no troubles with that many tourists. The hint lead us directly to the hide, so the found could be done relatively quick.
After that, I got a little bit injured by the dumbness of myself. I overestimated the solid rocks, struggled and let some of my blood in Mordor - well, how many people can say this? Don't worry, was not really bad.
We had a look a the fields behind the village and had much fun the reproduce the Gollum scene at Mead's Wall.
This cache now marks my personal record for the highest located found ever. Of course, there a some higher located ones in that region but we were not willing to pay $100 dollars for the gondolas. One hundred dollars! For getting up there (five minutes) and down (another five minutes). Heavy!
Thank you so much for the cache and for showing the area!
