An interesting wander around the old distillery collecting information. Retired to the cafe where I refreshed myself while calculating the coordinates, Explored the museum before heading to the final location TFTC ArnupFamily

Out for a BBQ lunch with family for Mother's Day we found ourselves in the historic town of Inglewood. We grabbed some info for some multis and found the 3 trads in the town.
We wandered the distillery gathering the clues from the cool artefacts and made a logical set of coordinates. With the distillery being closed we were able to make a muggle free find.
Thanks ArnupFamily for highlighting this interesting location.

After a great night sleep at camp last night in Lockwood, I woke up early for a big day of caching through the Bendigo region, Bridgewater, Serpentine, Prairie and Echuca. A great day out, lots of finds, only 2 DNFs.

Gathered the interesting clues and calculated my gz. Took me quite a while to find though, but can’t believe I must have kept missing the obvious hide. Got there in the end.

Interesting lesson for us as the museum was closed. TFTC

15-Nov-20
Well there was plenty to see even though it had been closed for a while... love me a good lesson.

Nice quick find. All the questions had easy to find answers which is nice. The lady in the information centre was unaware of the cache (I dropped in to see her as I was the only person here today and didn’t want to look suspicious) TFTC

The place was closed today but that meant no one interrupted me. I enjoyed looking around and soon had the answers and then the cache. TFTC ArnupFamily.

After spending a fantastic weekend away in St Arnaud for the Melbourne mega event, it was time to head back home to Newcastle, with a few select cache stops along the way.

What an awesome little place this is! I arrived here earlier than expected, so the place was still closed, but that made for a peaceful uninterrupted walk around all the structures. Once the numbers were collected, I strolled over to GZ where the cache was spotted nicely hidden.

Gratias ArnupFamily

The constant was my travel companion for the entire trip, - Anymules. but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades Cool

Another day of caching our way back over to St. Arnaud from Bendigo. We took a very slow and circuitous route finding numerous caches along the way. Surprised Look like an interesting place to visit but we were pressed for time so it was quickly gather the info, make the find and on our way. Smile Deserved a longer visit. Razz

Thanks for this most interesting Multi. Muggle Hubby and I didn’t even know this place existed. It was so interesting to look around.
After we’d calculated the coordinates it was a pleasant short walk to the cache.
Following that we had a drink at the cafe.
A great place to stretch our legs on our trip home from Adelaide.
All round a very enjoyable trip here, earning you another favourite point, well done!

We arrived and took the walk around the equipment gathering information as we explored. After collecting what we needed we popped inside to chat as suggested and found that Bridgett no longer works there and that the new people have no idea about the cache, well they do now. SL TFTC

Well, what a wonderful stop and a neat multi.
We spent time with Bridgette in the cafe and is now aware of the game.

I had collected the information required on an earlier visit through here and today was able to complete the task. we thought we'd grab a bite to eat but today was not the day for that it seemed. found the cache and the home of hundreds of small beetles! a quick flick along the grass to free the cache of the hangers on and then it was down to the business of signing the logsheet and replacing their home until the next major disturbance comes along.. thanks to the ArnupFamily for the history and the cache placement.

Suscoe decided to have a day out to the north west of Bendigo and then to return and take on some Bendigo caches too.
It was a sunny day early one but clouds rolled in in the afternoon and kept things cool today.
Just ideal weather for caching really.
We had a great time exploring places we had never been, revisiting some roads we have been down, seeing sheep and cows and lots of grain paddocks as well as a gigantic hay storage place.
Thanks to the ArnupFamily for creating this multi.
A delightful walk around the gardens and to see the new little train ride being built on the town side.
All good at GZ.

Bendigo to Wedderburn, retracing a few tracks from the past.
This one ticked all the multi boxes for us - fascinating location, interesting questions, very rewarding hide and as a bonus - coffee and an informative and lengthy chat with Murray, who played an integral part in establishing the museum. Definitely a FP from us.

Thanks ArnupFamily for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Find No. 1796. found at 9.20am.

On a caching expedition in our geoute with geodog Penny on board. Our aim is to find 25 + finds so that we can get 100 finds for the month.

Lucky there was no-one around this morning so Penny came walking around with us.

A good multi that showed you around the site with all the different things there were to be seen. We enjoyed doing it and are giving it a Fav Point.

The annual Wedderburn Weekend run by The Old Blokes and a few friends. Always a fantastic weekend and very creative caches.

The return trip home and a quick stop in Inglewood for this short multi. Clues gathered quickly between very short showers then a quick find at GZ.

Thank you, ArnupFamily, for this cache.

A follow up day to the Day in Wedderburn. We started this cold and windy day with a warming breakfast at the Old Blokes place. Then a few caches in town, and a couple in Inglewood on the way home.
I have driven past and seen the chimney several times, but didn't realise that a lot of other artifacts were here as well.
An interesting multi showing off the various parts.
Thanks, Robmc.

19/02/2017 - 8.36am - No. 867 - 5th of 7 finds for the day - with Surefoot24 & Darren on the return leg of a Geocaching weekend to attend the weekends 9 month to event event & find others while in the area Cool.

Sadly our weekend away geocaching has come to an end & we had to head home but we left early so we could do a little finding on the way. I have travelled past this location for more years than I care to remember & finally got a chance to stop & have a look at things & as it happens do a bit of caching too. [8)] Big GrinSmile We did a wander to find answers & to look at bits & pieces. Camera liked it too Big Grin Info Centre keeper arrived while we were collecting the last couple of bits of info so we had a brief chat before we did the necessary workings out. We headed off in the direction finder indicated & there it was. The resident spider was a sneaky thing. I thought I saw movement when I made the find & gave the holder a turn or two to make sure there was nothing bitey on it. Looked good, until I noticed I was actually touching the leg of the sneaky blighter. So I quickly removed my touching devices & tried to move the container & encourage lots of legs off. Hahaha it just kept going to the away side at each turn [:/]. It took a tap in the container by Surefoot24 the encourage it to remove itself. Signed, sealed & returned to it's home. Wink Thanks for the cache. Smile

Find #1316 for me and my 44th multi-cache find for this month (yes, this was the month I chose to complete the monthly multi-cache challenge, but why stop at 31?). Today I decided to target the four multi-caches in Inglewood. This was a fantastic location that I would never have known was there. After gathering most of the clues outside I thought I should enter the Museum and buy a hot chocolate. I asked the girl working there about the hall of fame plaque which I hadn't been able to spot, and she led me right to it. Naturally she knew about the cache and the information required so we had a good chat about that while I drank my hot chocolate. After working out the final coordinates I made a quick find at GZ. A large black spider had also made its home there so I removed it and its nasty looking web so hopefully the next person won't be bothered by it if they find it within the next few weeks at least. Thanks for bringing me to this great little museum ArnupFamily, and thanks for placing a multi-cache here for me to add to my tally today!

We found this cache today at 11:45am as number 6 of 11 on our Boxing Day Melbourne to Renmark Run. We weren't originally going to detour in for this cache but it looked interesting so we wandered around getting the info and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks from D, HA, H & A B-A.

Geofamily trip to Victoria... Cool! Cool
Mrs Moneydork, Moneydork, sushilord and I left Friday morning for a 4 day jaunt over the border to find a cache or two Cool
Two nights in Wangaratta and then a night in Bendigo left me with 10 DNFs Sad and 205 cache finds Smile one of which was a FTF SurprisedSmile
Day 4 was travelling from Bendigo to Berri then home and with 2 Sad DNFs and 21 Smile finds, it was another good day Cool

Finally we were travelling through while the distillery was open Cool
Mrs Moneydork got to spend time inside while the men and I gathered the required information while enjoying a wander through the interesting artefacts [^]
Cache was a quick find too however it all meant that I didn't get to see inside the building... maybe one day Smile

The geofamily are off on another trip to Mexico. Fun, sore backsides (for some) and Dad getting the geomobile stuck and breaking his bike, TWICE were the highlights of the trip. One of the running jokes for the trip was 'If it's 2.5T it's laying on the ground, if it's 2.5D it's under that pile of rocks or in the open, if it's listed as large we are looking for an eclipse tin' which came about due to a number of early finds. The lasting memory from this trip will be the grass seeds!!!

A great multi worth a fav point for getting us to look at the old workings. The lady in the shop was very enthusiastic about the cache being hidden here. ( I think she was happier about geomum spending lots of geodad's money in the shop.)

Thanks for bringing us here ArnupFamily.

Don't know where I went wrong here but couldn't find anything at the co-ordinates I got from the answers, used up too much time to go back and redo.
A checksum would be helpful.
Staff member came out and asked if I was ok, but was busy with other visitors.

Find # 3352 @ 1219 H

After all the Domestic chores were done, it was time to go for a drive and a cache grab or more.
Well this place was a eye opener. After the first walk around and getting all the numbers for GZ. I was heading back around again having a decent look at all the History here.
A great area, and an interesting history lesson too.

We enjoyed our walk around this area, a place that we used to frequent many years ago. Pity the place was closed. About 20 years ago we used to come to this place and fill our flagons with unrefined euchy oil at $20 a bottle. It was much better than the refined stuff. It made great woolmix as well.
Thanks for bringing us back here ArnupFamily

We had a tiny issue at this one, with me not actually reading the E question properly, but once we had that issue sorted, we quickly found the cache. We picked this cache up at 4:29pm.

ahomburg and I were headed to St. Arnaud for the 3 months to the Surf Coast Event. We started out bright and early and cached until midnight, but which point, I was pretty broken. We had a great day!! Not heaps of caches, but all for the cause of our GeosportZ claims. I completed 7 events for the day, and ahomburg a few more.

Thanks for the cache ArnupFamily.

Find #7920**

Today I set out on a massive mission to get as many GeosportZ points in the GCA Olympics Challenge as possible as well as attending (Hosting) the Geocaching Melbourne 3 Months to the Mega event in St Arnaud and driving the ~300k's back home. Luckily I was joined by one of my Co-Hosts in LouiseAnn to make the day more fun Razz The weather was looking OK until we mentioned it and then we got some rain, but not so much that we couldnt go caching Big Grin

The Museum had just closed, but it didn't really matter, took us way too long to work out the numbers for this relatively simple multi.

On an outing as part of The Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants, we set out for the souvenir of the day. Nice hide, but wish we knew there was a cafe here before we bought our coffees. Nice spot on a sunny Sunday.

Out with the Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants today to find a souvenir And this is the one chosen to meet the requirement. A very interesting spot and not a bad a cache for a multi. (I really hate multis). TFTC ArnupFamily.

The Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants united to collect a multi to nab for the souvenir available for this weekend and headed North from Bendigo to the closest unfound ones. We also collected some others along the way.

This was the first of our multis and we managed to find the information okay but not the cache. Eventually we widened our search a located the neat hide.

Called in here on the way out to Wedderburn. Had a loverly chat with the staff member then headed around collecting the needed information. An interesting place which the various locations highlight. Once all the info was collected, GZ was calculated and it was off for a quick find. Thanks Arnup Family for the lesson in eucalyptus distilling.

Found by Roma and Max.
What a great place for a geocache.
We thoroughly enjoyed our journey around the distilling plant collecting the necessary numbers although we had to make an educated guess for "F" as that clue had not been added to the page yet when we were on site!
However our receiver took us to within 2 metres of your very well camo'ed container
Thank you for the very appropriate gift which we will place with a similar item obtained some years ago from another heritage listed euclyptus distillery at Neilborough which belonged to Roma's cousins and while it was still in full production.
Cheers,
from Romax.
