Logs
despite searching hard, could not find it. Indeed frustrating when you read in previous logs that it should be easy to find
DNF: Either the gps is off or the cache has been discovered after what looks like a lot of landscaping(?) done recently, not too sure.
Disappointed we couldnt find it particularly as previous people had logged it as an easy find
Found whilst cycling around this lovely lake. Recovered better as was in sight - tftc
Thanks for your amazing cache Tufty. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
All dry here
Cheers, Cympull.

We're camping nearby so brought the bikes over to the lakes for a ride. A quick find. It was in the open so have hidden a little better. Tftc
Another easy find. Thanks for taking us down to this lovely beach. Sry, no Pen.
A nice quick find as we walked the loop track on this beautiful day.
This was a particularly nice section of the track with pine forest on one side, the lake on the other and a pleasant breeze to keep us cool. Such a beautiful place to visit.
We noticed a number of large pits alongside the track and wondered what they were. Possibly related to the removal of trees or maybe some sort of subsidence. They could even be traps but, if so, we don't want to know what they were designed to catch.
We made sure to stay clear just in case they were designed to catch geocachers.
We also saw a nice little group of mushrooms.
TFTC.

Nearly went past this one as we thought it would have been on the lower track. Once we came back we had an easy find. Cache is all good. TFTC
This is a beautiful quiet part of the lake, with all the muggles at both of the ends. I did see one boat and one kayak at various beach points, but otherwise its been quiet.
Thanks for putting this here

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked at the NZMCA site in Dargaville for the next few days … we will now spend time exploring the wider area … headed up to the Kai Iwi Lakes for a wander around … this was an easy find, log completed & replaced … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #3,043 for us.
Nice stroll around the lake amongst the Manuka trees for shade. Click clack another sistema.
Berrydehamster and me are travelling in New Zealand for three weeks. We cross the country from north to south and back again by campervan, see a lot, do a lot, visit lots of places and meet a lot of people. It’s nice to be here and we have a great time.
As both of us are geocachers, we find a lot of caches on our travels. This is one of the caches we found. Thanks for your cache, Tufty, that helped give us a wonderful time here.

NLBokkie and I are going on holiday to New Zealand for 3 weeks. In Auckland we rent a camper. We start on the North island and driving to the south to make the crossing to the South island. Here we make a round and then take the boat back to the North Island. A long trip, but a very beautiful one! We do and see a lot on our way.........…
In addition to being a tourist, we are also going to cache along the way. The virtuals and earth caches are often on tourism places. If we have a long day of traveling, we stop for some caches.
It were great weeks!

Set off early this morning for a well earned caching trip with my buddy and navigator at my side to get as many of these new caches that I could find. The day dawned bright and sunny so we set off to the wop wops in the trusty geo mobile. A lovely lakeside stroll to collect a cache or 8. Dropped three TBs. TFTC.
I missed seeing this cache on my first pass of the tree. After checking out some other trees ny buddy soon came back to this obvious tree and spotted it straight away. I hope the new little kowhai will take off. Our ones at home didn't seem to do well with wet feet. Thanks for another cache along this great track
Another stretch of road hiked, and now this cache indicates it's time to walk on the shoreline again. But first to find the cache. A nice easy one here with the hint, although the cache is nicely tucked away out of sight. TFTC
Out on a nice walk around Lake Taharoa. All caches found fairly quickly. Tftc.

I was able to locate this Cache after Wakeboarding on the Lake and eating Lunch at the nearby Beach.
After setting up our tent, we went for a walk to stretch our legs. We didn't see much blue arrows, which is why we took the wrong way twice, and had to walk back to the correct way. However we managed to find alle the caches mostly without problems. Thanks for this beautifull walk!
After setting up camp we used the beautiful weather for a stroll around the lake.
All Caches could be found without problems and all of them were in fine condition. However, we did not see too many blue signs and took two wrong turns which led to some backtracking.
Thank you for this Cache!

Out for a ride around the lake with Kiwiterm and the 3 wee bucks. Definitely time for a swim! TFTC
We arrived at the campsite yesterday and before leaving this morning we had to go out and enjoy the sun and the beautifull surroundings of lake Taharoa, so we went for the trail of caches along the lakeside.
We started with number 1 and ended with number 7.
The blue arrow track is completely blocked between number 4 and 5 and after several attempts to find a way through, we decided to go back along the main Lake Taharoa track and enter the blue arrow track again from the other side and that went well.
We found all 7 and we took a coin from the last one.
This was a nice start of the day and we enjoyed this track very much.

TFTC, was staying at the nearby campsite and decided to knock off as many caches as I could whilst here! All in good condition and an enjoyable bike ride then run around the lake!
Continuing around the lake. Not stopping for all the caches. Saving some for next visit. Glad to have chosen this to find as scn left a pathtag! NIPO TFTC
Another lovely find while enjoying a bike ride around the lake with two 6 year olds .
Grabbed the cache & then just had to go jump in the lake to cool off! Ahhhh, so refreshing!!! TFTC
Visiting the lakes today on a very hot day, hoping to find all the caches here. Eighth on the list was this one. Again, no problems here. TFTC
In the area for the day with Trout-fly and we were circumnavigating the lake. Parked at the entrance to the campground on the main road and followed the trail around the lake and managed to find them all. Took 3 hours on foot with caching/rest stops. Nice quick find here and always a pleasure to find your caches. Thanks
Camping overnight at this lovely location and took the chance to ride around Lake Taharoa and collect this trail. A most enjoyable ride and all the caches in the FTBA trail were found without problems thanks to good coordinates and good hints. Thanks Tufty, it was a great MTB ride.
5th find as we work our way around the lake, enjoying nature and the tranquility. TFTC
Found it with Ninalila.
After the Waipoua Forest we stopped by those lakes to enjoy the sun and for a walk.
we decided to walk along the lake in order to find some boxes.
We just need to reach the coordinates, have a look around and the cache is found
We signed the logbook with our team name : lekiprokos
thank you for the cache and the discovery

Nice walk with fefe.adrien along Kai Iwi lakes. Blue lakes in the middle of sand dunes, such a beautiful landscape !
We signed on the logbook with our team name : Lekiprokos.
We searched further at the beginning, but coordinates are perfect so easy find.

Another simple find, our fourth in this series on our Ruby Wedding Anniversary as we walked around Lake Taharoa. A slight deviaton from our path was required to get to this one, as per the cache name, and then we had a discussion about whether we could take a short cut back to the main track. I think we retraced our steps to the track though before carrying on around the circuit.
Thanks for another nice cache Tufty.

(1945)Had a family outing to Kai iwi lakes and couldn't resist picking up these new caches. Absolutely beautiful Winter day for a walk around the lake. My GPS was a little off with this one putting me a good 8m further along the track. Headed back to the corner as the clue had indicated and found the caches little hiding spot. Another empty log, so nice to collect another FTF. TFTC
