Logs
Maintenance check: the log is too damp to write on again, and blackberry is springing up all around. It’s not in a great spot, so I think it’s time to archive it.
Talking the dog for a stroll. Log is a little wet can still write on it, but can rip easily
I am house-sitting for my sister's family. Well, dog-sitting, really. They arrived home last night so I am heading home ot Petone today. So today's cache should be one in Wellington. I looked at the map and decided would be a nice cycle.Headed out along the coast and up Haughton Bay Road.Haughton Bay Road is a big long uphill, a bit of a drog on a bicycle, Nothing for it but go get my head down get into plod mode and make my way up. At the top I pulled out the phone to get the didtance to the cache, so that I could use my cycle computer and discovered that the cache is not in hte park on the Island bay side of the hill as I thought, but 200m behind me! Turned around and made a quick find. Lots of cars in the car park. I wonder how come. Residents' parking?
Okay, now the hard question. Do 200m of uphill back to the saddle and continue the loop? or turn around and whizz down this side back the way I came?
Back the way I came it is! Thanks for the views!

A nice quick find thanks. There was a wee bit of blackberry there.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. The weather was wet cold and quite windy today, cruising around Wellington.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Log a bit damp. Going to replace with better cache. Removing fake log by FalscherFufi.
Found it through the thorns and bush! It was too wet to dry in the log book so wrote on a piece of paper to log my find. Tftc
Great views we drive past this cache often! Found this with KiwiTab, we accidentally wrote the date in the log book as the 10th but it was the 11th. Sorry about that.
Back in Wellington and some more lookout caches are on the agenda. Visited some spectacular locations today and the outlook from here was one of them. After the GPS initially directed me to an unlikely location and not seeing a cache in the nearest obvious location I spotted it a bit further along. But how do I get it? Duh, round the other side! Despite being magnetic the cache was not stuck to anything but I made it so when returning it. More lookouts next up! TFTC.
Beware of thorns! Careful extraction required! This makes 5 from 5 for my first Welly mission, made my way from the airport, across Lyall Bay, up the Houghton track to get this one! Now to head up and up!
It was very rainy which helpfully kept the mugglea away. Came from the right angle so wasn't too hard to get to.
This was a nice easy cache for a wet saturday!!! Cache had a personal swimming pool inside the container so tipped that out and have replaced upside down in the hopes no more water will get in! Tftc
As I tend to do, I came at this from the wrong angle and had to clamber... All good at GZ. TFTC.
Needed a cache today to deal to a dot day. This was it. I was out this way to visit the newly-opened fully-fenced dog park. Looked for this one afterwards, and found it with no trouble. #3441. TFTC.
Easy find with @peadub on a lazy Sunday afternoon at Sinclair Park. Difficulty is more like a 1 than a 2. Easy access, good coordinates, great view of Cook Strait. Watched a woman practicing her hammer throws at the park below. Very impressed! Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
A quick find after beating unsuccessfully around the bush on the day’s first cache.
Cook Strait is an absolute picture today!!

In town for a week to visit the family. I finally made it this far off the peninsula to make a grab here.
A neat view out towards Baring Head today.

First cache in awhile! Needed to get out for some fresh air and this was a perfect spot to watch the Strait and enjoy a still moment. TFTC. TB visited. Cache was slightly damp but log was dry.
Our daughter lives just around the corner from this one but we did not manage to grab this one until today. Thanks CO for the cache.
I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #689.
A quick park and grab - view great with the ferry chugging out of the harbour on a perfect blue sky day. Found cache in plain sight. Container wet inside and plastic bag needed sealing, but log was nice and dry. All good to go now. TFTC.

Today I did the Southern Walkway, starting at Island Bay and walking back to the city. Some caches were on my way, I could find the most with help of the hint. Good view. TFTC
Nice location after descending Mt Albert. Great condition.
Easy find (after the last gorse affected caches

Such a good day for caching I couldn't resist getting out to grab a few at lunch. I had noticed this one had recently been reactivated and was pleased to find a path tag coin here. I came down from Mt Albert and noticed the southern alps are very visible today. TFTC
As the original cache placement was very prone to excessive dampness, I have now replaced with a new container and placed it about two metres from the original site. Hopefully this will enable it to be less maintenance unfriendly. Cache description updated.
Thanks The Coddiwompler for your advice and patience.

Boomsh!
That's a soggy loggy. We tried to dry it out when visiting other caches near by. Not sure it helped much...

Thanks jerry_nz, the container is not really damaged, but the log keeps absorbing moisture! So, I will seek a better waterproof container, and in the meantime, disable it temporarily. It sure is a soggy loggy ... I will try to get time to sort it out shortly.
Had been before in the middle of the night and never came close. This time. Thanks
Me and my mate George found out while out for a walk
Great view
NB: Log book is very wet and needs to be replaced

I am unable to replace the log until August, so will disable this cache temporarily. Sorry about that!
Thanks! Log was damp, so I added another tiny one but don't fancy it's chances of staying dry!
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder. It was a hot hot day and we had a great view of a very cool looking Wellington Heads and Cook Strait. Nice one.
Cache was a straightforward find, coordinates spot on. All in order.
Log signed, then cache safely re-hidden, just as found.

A good view of the entrance to the harbour. Timed my visit perfectly with a big plane departing. Now all I need to come is back when a large crisis ship is entering or leaving the harbour. TFTC
#4357. I recall doing another cache in this park a year or so back. Again it was done at night. In fact I don't think I have ever seen this park in daylight. Took the wrong route to the cache and necessitated a hill climb which was rather slippery. The cache was soon found but the log paper has got damp. Still managed to sign the log. Replaced as found. The view tonight was city lights. Must come back in daylight some stage to see where I have been staggering around with a weak torch.
A quick find after taking a few minutes to enjoy the lovely view. So nice to have a clear, calm day after the last couple of weeks of weather chaos. TFTC!
There was a good number of cars in the car park but I couldn't see any sign of occupants. Satisfied that the coast appeared to be clear, I moved in for the search and was mildly surprised to discover the wee treasure immediately. This certainly is a good spot to see what is going on out in the Strait. TFTC, RogerW1nz.
Nice quick find here by Mister 7 !
The boys then had fun sliding down bank on the handy piece of cardboard !
Thanks Roger W1nz

It's amazing where you can get to when you run 5km from the office! A cool southerly today, but the sun was nice and warm when I got away from the shadows of the office blocks in town. Nice clear views from the park today. And it was great to have a nice dry log to sign - a bit unusual for this sort of container to let water in - maybe someone didn't screw it up quite tight enough when putting it back together. TFTC.
Great coords, walked right up to it. The few muggles around were all a good distance away. Awesome views, TFTC!
It makes a difference having the park to yourself as today was an instant find compared to the other week when there were some soccer playing muggles and a GPSr that led us a bit further away than it should have. TFTC
I tried looking for this the other day, but a muggle was lying on the grass only a couple of meters from gz, sheltered from the wind and enjoying the views. Today there were no such problems, and it was a very straight forward find.

#100!
Grabbed this on a run/walk tonight at sunset. Great views up here towards the east (I have views to the west from my place further down this ridge).

TFTC. A little damp so dried it out a little while enjoying the view and sun!
