Hi there South-West,
This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as a cache that **MAY** need some attention.
You may recall having received an automated email from Geocaching HQ which explained what you needed to do.
Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so I am having to take the next step and temporarily disable the cache - see here: [**Geocache Health Score.**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713)
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days so others know exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication kill this cache.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- **Place A Write Note Log:-** Reviewers are not mind readers, so without your note on the cache page telling them what the situation is, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and, when the listing is next checked, all will be fine for a little bit longer. But be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.
If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date), please ensure you visit this page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks so as to keep everyone up to speed with what is happening.
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another Geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned and processed accordingly.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD)

We walked out here today with geo kids and grandma to see two big ships, 1 coming in, one going out. But while I was searching for treasure geo grandma spotted the ship already docked and the one due to leave already disappeared: disappointed!
And no treasure find either.
We will come back tomorrow morning again for ships, as for the cache, I'll keep an eye on the activity and might wait for the next maintenance.
Thanks for placing a cache here South-West, great spot! Looking forward to finding it next time.

Pretty sure I know where I would have put the cache but hey, what does that matter???[?]

Hi there Cache Owner,
It looks like this cache needs your attention in some way please, as one or more seekers have indicated in their logs that there is an issue with the placement.
The Guidelines indicated that periodic visits to check on the cache, as well as prompt attention to any logs that indicate there is a problem, are part of the [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) It would seem you haven't checked on this cache recently, so I am temporarily Disabling the cache to stop it showing up on search listings..

This one needs to be checked. 5 of us scoured the area for quite some time with no luck.
There is the perfect spot for this cache that matches all the hints but I could not find the cache. Bummer.
DNF at 9:26 AM.
On our way to do a big cache with The Morris we stopped to check out the breakwall, passing a large number of muggle fishermen. Got to the end and started to search, but nothing could be found. Not a good omen when the first cache of the day is a DNF

Another dnf for me even with the photo clue. Hopefully one day I will get this sneaky cache
Still a DNF for me. It should be here but even with information from previous logs we couldn’t locate it. I previously logged a DNF 2 years ago and so it shall remain. Thanks for the hunt anyway
With lots of fisherman and some not so keen geo kids this was a dnf today. I would love to come back when we are here again one day to get this one
My father use to work in designing the Port of Portland Authority but was retired at the time of the incident. He doesn't recall it but he was a full-time carer of my mum at the time.
My gal suggested we drive up the Lee breakwater and once we got to the end I remembered there was a cache here. Cache located and logged. Thanks for your awesome cache!!

The hint seemed very clear, and there were no muggles so we could search without problems, but unfortunately couldn't find the cache anyway.
Nevertheless thanks for the interesting story in the listing!

Came back to have another look for this one. Last time had an impatient geograndkidling with us so gave up. This time we can't claim the find really. Fellow geocacher found it where Doc had looked previously twice. Never mind tftc
Found It................Find No#1600..................While down in the area today after buying some Roses from out the road we decided to get some out of the way caches. After pulling up the search started but there was more and more cars turning up to start fishing so the race was on and after what seemed like half an hour Mr H_3 came up with the goods, So with the log signed we continued on our journey. Thanks South-West for the cache.
**Found after the nearby St Arnaud lead up event**
Out and about with muggle father and a few other caching teams.

I didn't even get the chance to look before muggle hubby had his hands on it! A little fresh this morning, but I'm sure the rain was a welcoming sight to many of us! TFTC
This was our second find for the day. Thanks for the cool hide and yes we needed to get down lower then we did a little cold but a lot of fun.
Staying in Portland for a week and thought we’d take a walk down the breakwater after dinner. Arrived right on sunset (not that there was much of one) and found the cache straight away. All in good condition I might add.
TFTC and a nice after dinner walk
TFTC and a nice after dinner walk
We were enjoying our walk to GZ today, when we were stopped in our tracks. With about 600 metres to go, a pair of locked gates halted our progress !! Oh well, maybe next time we are down this way we'll have another crack. Thanks for the walk !!
On a bit of R & R in Portland, and looking around the town. My last visit here was 40 odd years ago, when I worked on the Aluminium Smelter, wiring all the accomodation units for MATV. After a slow drive to the end of the breakwater, we had an idea where to look but a Muggle was sitting on the rocks with her baby about 5 metres away! Hmmm the fake shoelace tying wasn't going to cut it, so we feigned some interest in the er...large pipe that disappeared into the sea. At last the muggle turned to look at the bulk carriers and we managed to snarf the cache, sign the log and replace in the blink of an eye! TFTC
As I failed at this last time I was in the area I thought I would give it another go today. Still no luck as the breakwater is closed due to roadworks
Found it just as the rain came All is good with the cache no muggles about in this weather only keen cachers like us on a road trip from Tassie TFTC
Searched for this cache in between muggle walkers and drivers, but with no luck . Will return tomorrow with fresh hope.
Straight off night shift we left for Portland for a few days, for some diving and caching with friends.. BettyBoo3747 did all the driving, I did all the snoozing. Came into the land of the living to do a few caches on the way.
It is certainly a long walk out along the breakwater! By the time we did it was dark. Luckily it was a nice quick find.
Thanks, Robmc.

We are in Portland for a few days with Robmc, BettyBoo and beckNmonts. After settling into our accommodation and eating a delicious barbecue tea we headed out for an evening perambulation. I think some of the party, including the smallest ones wondered why we hadn't actually driven out here instead of walking but it was a lovely evening.

#14180. Travelling from Melbourne to Portland and gathering up a few caches along the way. It was a trip that ended up taking 7 hours, what with roadworks and cache stops.
From our accommodation in Gawler Street this was an epic walk to the end of the jetty - reckon it must have been at least a 4km round trip and that is way too far for these old legs these days. It was dark by the time we got to GZ and there was a constant stream of cars driving to the end for their turnaround. Rob had the cache to hand in quick time and all names were added to the log and now for the long haul back home again.
Thanks South-West

I headed out to the jetty with a band of geocachers and two very beautiful girls (dogs). The cache was soon found, although dark set in just as we reached ground zero. It made for a nice walk, down in daylight and back up in darkness, with me, the sucker now carrying one of the dogs all the way back. TFTC South-West
Sorry there was an incident with the log and it blew out of my hands I’m so sorry!!! I have put a temporary one in there until it can be replaced!
Find #3088. Found @ 16:00 with j-bean.
We're on holiday in Portland and I was able to grab a cache or two. Out and about with j-bean and we decided to drive to the end of the breakwater to see what we could see (of the sea). We also found a cache while we were here, and spotted some seals looking to get an easy meal from the fishermen (and one attacking a cray-pot or something similar)
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache South-West

found it. Spent plenty of time pretending to be taking photos lol lots of muggles TFTC good spot
What a long drive out to the end of the breakwater. Mr Lost Wanderer read the description and had an aha moment and made a quick find. Thanks for the hide and the information about the fire.
I drove out here for a quick look before heading off to work but had no luck. Only one fisherman nearby but he was far enough away not to bother me. Maybe next time I'm in the area.
Found it, had to do this one at night as we knew there were going to be a few muggles around.
First night in portland of my 10 day holiday, extremely cold on the breakwall but a very nice hide thanks for the cache.
Spending a day in Portland on a road trip around the southern states. A very brisk wind blowing so we needed to find it quickly!! TFTC
Good find for geowife after a nice walk. Got some nice photos lookibg back on land. Not many muggles making for an easy Sunday arvo find.TFTC
Yay! Third time lucky. First time it had disappeared. Second time the breakwater was closed for works. Today it was open and the cache was back! Had a great time watching a ship being brought into the port by the tugboats. Awesome watching them push it around!
Could not get put there today as there seems to be some works going on there. Tyftc
scramping & I were in Portland today collecting a few caches...we had planned this day some time ago...the sun was shining this morning but by the time we reached GZ at this one we could see the weather beginning to change...
The breakwater was open today so managed to drive all the way to the end where there were no other cars parked there...
It took longer than it should have to find but after having a sit down I located it...
We saw a seal swimming around...very cool...

Great day caching with hevwalker, with the weather starting to turn from sun to heavy rain showers we were lucky to find the breakwater open for vehicles. It took longer than we thought and we were lucky there weren't too many muggles today. But with a good look we eventually had the tricky hide in hand, signed and returned. TFTC
Relaxing watching the boats, we decided to grab this one, was not where we thought it would be but alas we found it
Too many fisherpeople around. Will save this for a later date. I think we were right on top of it but so was someone fishing. I'll try again the next time I'm in town.
Tricky one, nicely done! The Missus wasn't sure we were allowed out here, but it was all OK but no access over the Weekend.

Just before heading home, we couldn't resist a walk around the wharf area to collect a couple more smiley tokens.
Apologies for the late logs, we are still catching up after an almost fatal computer meltdown.
Thanks South-West for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

The day after the event, we'd met up with Maccamob at a previous cache, and joined with them to locate this one. I was amazed that we could actually drive right to it. But it was no easy park and grab, Muggle Hubby did the honours locating this one. A very clever hide in its concealment.
Thanks for showing us another different aspect of life in Portland, from a totally unexpected vantage point.
Thanks for showing us another different aspect of life in Portland, from a totally unexpected vantage point.
Found by Mary & David, along with Cybergran V and Muggle Hubby, at 0910. We heard yesterday that this cache had gone, so didn't pursue it. Today we saw that it had been found a few times, so added it to our list for today. The drive out there brought back memories of a family holiday here some thirty years ago. Lots of muggle fishing along the way, but nobody near GZ. Torn between looking for it, watching the boats, the seagulls and the water views. Searched around for a minute or so before Muggle Hubby found it. Well hidden and hard to see. We were standing around after when a group of joggers came by and one called out "Did you find it?" Our thanks to South-West.
I was one of the 'ladies' or fellow cachers who made the find here when a group of roaming SA and VIC cachers came through the area. TFTC South-West.
Venturing over the border with Mogni and Aussie M&M to attend the 8 months to Mega event in Portland. Numerous other SA cachers had the same idea and we met up with them and a few Vics at the event and set out en masse to grab a few caches. [^] Don't be mistaken, this was not spontaneous. A group of us had been planning several of these cache attempts for months prior.
this is a very popular place to fish. Must be good fishing. But we were fishing for a different catch. Which the ladies soon located. Thanks South-West.

We enjoyed the drive out observing the fishermen trying their luck. Our luck was in in the second place we looked today. Thanks South-West, interesting information. Found with The Tritonz.
It was great to be able to ride the trike all the way to the end but it certainly felt very much like a game of chicken. As it was quite early there was only a few people at the end and so we had the place to ourselves to search. Feel was the way we found this one, I had already looked and saw "nothing", it was only after we had exhausted all other possibilities that we started from scratch and looked/felt a little harder and were rewarded with the cache container.
