Thanks so much for this cacheI enjoyed finding such a large cache. I have enjoyed exploring the area through geocaching. Thanks.
Gotcha! Visited with NTM. A nice drive out here this afternoon. Thanks for the cache Cheers
Thanks to the CO for finding a way to keep this cache active despite hassles with the waypoints, We went to the final coordinates and located a large cache well hidden in a natural object. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Eden_teunis fpr the cache.
A nice quick drive by find. A favourite point for being the biggest cache I have seen. TFTC
Found it! If something looks suspicious your probably right and it will be worth a look!
Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
While staying at St George decided to attempt this multi eh traditional and when I put the coordinates in was a bit surprised that I needed to do a country run. Enjoyed the trip and the find and then had a bucket of water to celebrate with. Thanks for the cache
We have a bit of a history of making a dog's breakfast on multis. We somehow manage to mess things up on doing our sums for the final. Perhaps we need to go back to grade 4 arithmetic class! So we were thrilled so spot the adjustment on this multi.. though rather disappointed too as the initial task sounded like a bucket of fun. We were even more thrilled when we spotted the hide - always good to find a large container in the wild. Even some history there to soak up. So double thanks Eden!
With the stages destroyed, picked up the multi final and still managed to tour St George in the dark after a few ales and a full belly. First night out of Brissy heading west. Thanks Eden teunis for the multi.
After sightseeing around town this morning we headed out to do this cache before leaving. A nice drive as I saw a couple of old steam engines along the way. At GZ it was an easy find. That's a really nice place across the road.TFTC
On the way south, Genghicat and I decided to complete our St george cache set. Unfortunately, as stated this multi is no more, but the destination is still in good condition. We signed and grabbed a trackable there. Unfortunately, the trackable has not been activated by its dropper, so if it's owner is you, contact us. I'm amazed at the green out here. My last time through st george there wasn't a blade of grass. Tftc
bunadoorian and I decided to try and find this cache. It was a pity the first waypoint has been destroyed as we both enjoy a good field puzzle. We were both very surprised at the LARGE size of this cache. I loved the homestead nearby. TFTC and for bringing us here Eden teunis.
Grub62 and I were on our way through St George and thought that this multi cache would be interesting and it proved to be just that. A favourite point from me for the container size and placement. Thanks for the entertainment and TFTC.
33,603. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 31. Today we packed up, and grabbed the 3 remaining caches in St. George for me, then headed South down through Thallon to Lightning Ridge, where funnily enough I had no caches to get (except for the new Adventure Lab) and yet albida did - a rare turn of events. We still had 3 days and lots of caches to go on this trip. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as F65 and A33 as required. Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!
Wow, this was amazing. Not only the historical building across the street but also the cache. It's huge. You don't find them like this anymore. Thanks for the info inside that explained so the wpts and a bit of history.
This multi-cache evolved traditional cache was stopped at whilst driving from Morven to St George, and as I approached, there was plenty of sheep and lambs along the road. Once I arrived at GZ, I quickly found the good-sized cache appropriate for its hiding hole. It was just at the right angle to hide it from muggles travelling the nearby road. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Eden teunis for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, I was homeward bound from Morven to Brisbane, detouring through Mitchell, St George, Goondiwindi, Leyburn, and Toowoomba. It was great to add another couple of visited LGAs to my statistics: Balonne and Goondiwindi Regional. The premise for my initial southerly journey was oldie [Wild & Wonderful West](https://coord.info/GC119TJ), and then onwards to St George and its scenic river, followed by a visit to Beardmore Dam. I continued east to Goondiwindi, and enjoyed the Qld-NSW border town's history and sculptures. Finally, after visiting Leyburn and completing the [Leyburn Historical Tour](https://coord.info/GC809ZM), I headed along Rosenthal-Clifton Road for a few attractive D-T geocaches that included adventurous tree climbs and tree fishing retrievals.Adventure Labs completed: [Sights of Goondiwindi](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/173f0260-5088-4fac-b0ad-fd7cab4b14c0); and [Inglewood Lions Park](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/f4c1fbb7-37b4-4b65-a87e-e50a9396d4c2).
Found It!A nice drive out here and a quick find once at GZ. Always great to find such a big cache to!TFTC
JACS and I had hatched a plan a while back to book leave for a road trip out west and to attend the last QOGM. Today was the first big day Dalby to St George with me collecting a swag of oldies JACS spread has! Still managed a few for her and an awesome day in the truck together! Despite a long day on the road the road out to the final of this was quite gorgeous !
There was a very smelly dead kangaroo over the road from this cache this morning. I could still smell it from the cache GZ. I was pleased to get away from it! It certainly is a large large- biggest we’ve found in Queensland so far! The drive out to here was very interesting.

Love a large, love a PT!
Greyhams and I have been on a mission to see as much of Australia and visit as many of the LGA's as possible for some time now. This trip was Queensland, flying into Brisbane and a full 8 days on the road stopping for as many of the caches of interest we had time for as we passed through.
Leaving Brisbane northwest was our direction, as far west as we could go all the way to Birdsville. Of course, it is a Geocaching trip so it zigged and zagged as needed to cover the areas required. Yulaba, Charleville, Barcaldine, Ilfracombe, Longreach, Windorah, Birdsville, back to Windorah, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, St George, detour to Moonie for a FTF, Wyaga, Warick and the home run back into Brisbane for our flight home.
Love the driving as we left behind the trees and entered red earth and sparseness, always a surprise though passing through areas of yellow grassy plains, although generally open flat land in all directions was what greet us. Wildlife was in abundance and never have we seen so much. Emus dominated for 1000's of km, cattle as we passed through their grazing lands, but also pigs in numbers we didn't expect. Echidnas, goats, horses, a giant goanna, foxes, and birdlife that does well on the overnight roo casualties. Still no camels though, they have to be out there somewhere!
The country hospitality was a highlight, great friendly people, Queensland hotels full of history and character. They all were great but the Wellshot in Ilfracombe needs a huge shout out for being the stand out of this trip. Leaving the car at Windorah and flying into Birdsville not only saved a day of driving but the scenery flying low over the countryside was spectacular and memorable.
Also memorable was waking up on the second day with the best case of laryngitis I have ever experienced... no voice, none! To top it, it lasted the full trip only returning by the end, I'm not sure if I pity GreyHams for having to deal with me squeak in an attempt to talk and silenced, or he had the best trip ever!
The days were full, either full of km's or caches but never dull with so much to see or do. The caching grounds are rich thanks to the QOGM events, it's definitely a great location to hold them. Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that helped guide us as we travelled through Queensland on a great trip.

First find of the morning, very glad we came!

How to get all the counties, or councils, or "LGA's"?....... well, I have learned the hard way, albeit quickly, to do the "hardest" ones first!
We could have just driven from Canberra to Perth to get the amount of kilometres, but instead we thought we would push ourselves a bit harder, drive a bit further.....and do the south west corner of Queensland!!
It has to be said now....Queensland is a bloody large state. I mean ridiculously large! We drove east back to Brisbane for almost three full days! Yes, we stopped for a series of letterboxes, and all of the 'county' areas, and even a FTF, but it was ludicrous!
After our flight from Canberra, and collecting our rental, we head off west from Brisbane, on a mission to collect every LGA we could get.
Aquilus1 lost her voice after the first day, which made the rest of the trip much easier for me....I had to do all of the talking, and it helped I could argue both sides of every argument....and I always won!
Outback town hotels and pubs are so cool, and I love stopping at them. When I started caching I was wary as I only knew city pubs, which are very, very different.
I tried many a schnitty, and the odd steak, pizza or burger.... this truly was the outback pub tour of Queensland.
The Qantas museum was a special highlight, as I am a proper Qantas fanboy......I have done waaaay too many miles on the red roo!

Found after a great tour of the nearby homestead, the Anchorage. Enjoyed the scones and coffee, thanks for a couple of entertaining hours.
A nice quick find as we get to St George for our first night’s stop. A beautiful old place across the road. A quick find at GZ in good condition. Left 4 PTs. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here.
Ocw the Bebes. A nice drive out and we soon spotted the obvious spot. There is was with some info on the house opposite. Tftc

Staying in St George for a couple of days,
It’s a shame this one isn’t in its original form but I’m happy to have the smilie.
GZ was a coincidence, I was looking at that property on Realestate.com just this morning.

Heading west from Toowoomba's to St George to photograph the McIntyre 900 offroad race, also known as the Mac9 Big Race. This cache was part of my journey and was safely found, log signed and all returned as found. Thanks for the cache
We are on our way to the Rutherglen Mega from the Sunshine Coast. Today we are in St George. The last time we were here, it was a flying visit as I had broken my ankle at Thargamindah. No Caching that day!
I loved this cache. What a treasure St George has. Thanks for bringing us here. This is why we cache!

An excellent finish to this multi. Lovely homestead.
An excellent finish to this multi. Lovely homestead.
Heading off for a weekend road trip to St George for a conference with a group of friends from Brisbane, I took the opportunity to explore the local areas and grab some caches along the way of course!
It was a wonderful experience and I was able to see so much. Thanks for all the caches along the way, and I promise I'll be coming back to get the ones I didn't chance upon this trip.
After a weekend of friends and meeting new people, I grabbed a few more caches before I left St George for the long trip home. With a couple of friends grabbing lunch, I arranged to meet up with them in Miles for some caching along the long road home.
Thinking that this was slightly closer to where I had been than it was, I headed out. One thing I love about the country is when you see a 'no through road' sign and still have 12km to travel to the cache! As I entered the property I noticed I was being eyed by some large, freely roaming cows. We made an agreement that they would stay where they were and I would only be a few minutes, and all was good.
Approaching the GZ I quickly located the massive cache and looked inside. It took me a moment to comprehend the 'log book', enjoyed reading the associated information, and then headed back. On the road back I loved looking at the scenery and had the opportunity to have a quick chat to a land owner down the road. Thanks so much for this!

Wow, that's a big cache! Out and about after the Charleville QOGM finding some caches. We found your cache today 7 October 2022 10:55 am , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. TFTC Eden teunis
Day 3 of the lets go west to colour in trip with Eskies5, Caro and I was the day we started heading east again. Arriving at this stretch of caches we picked up a few in the hope we would be back in St George in time for a chill before the event. After a little R'n'R at the hotel we decided to head out and grab a couple of finds before arriving at the event. This was one. Great hide and TFTC Eden teunis
Having fun on our mission West of Ipswich... Eskies5, kestal and I having fun colouring in counties amongst our usual shenanigans. This whole area is a greener than expected, with wild flowers in bloom and a chorus of birds and critters (including flies and mozzies) for a soundtrack.
Head back East now, we stayed in town for the night finding a few caches before and after. This was one. I really like this town, it is looking fabulous with recent rains and being spring and all. Thanks for the cache, Eden teunis!
Day 3 of a Cunnamulla roadtrip with Carø and Kestal. Today was spent picking up the last of the caches we wanted to find around Cunnamulla before heading back to St George for the night. The country is putting on a show at the moment with all the wildflowers and greenery. We checked in and had a rest before heading back out for a couple more. TFTC Eden teunis.

It’s taken all day, but we’ve made it from Brisbane to St George… a detour via Goondiwindi, Boomi, Mungindi & Thallon will add a couple of Ks to the trip… we may have missed the first turn off to St George, and then I forgot to mention any of the others…
During the dinner, the decision was made to collect the remaining caches around town… night caching in the country…
Avoiding running bunnies, sleeping cows & one rogue Roo we found the very hard to miss GZ…

After dinner at the Cobb and Co tonight we thought we'd grab a couple of caches tonight so we can get on the road early in the morning.

Out for a trip in Outback Queensland.
The roads meander, we explore and enjoy
We arrived in town today any with the corrected coordinates we were able to find this ‘extra’ large geocaching container - absolutely stoked to see one this huge after all the nanos and micros hiding in the bush - Thank you
Definitely a favourite point for this geocache
5star rating
We are travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

After an overnight stop in Walgett and a few caches in Lightning Ridge, we were finally over the border and now in St George. Headed along the road here and soon arrived a GZ and had the cache in hand. Log was signed, log book returned and we were soon on our way.

#13548 - 1:30:00 PM; Day two of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. The plan for the day is to cache our way north Walgett on a round about route via Lightning Ridge, Hebel, Diranbandi, St George and Moonie on to Surat. Plenty of water lying around and flowing down the Balonne River. Luckily we avoided any road closures, unlike our previous foray north when we had an unanticipated night in Goondawindi, but that's a whole other story. No problems today as we collected caches along the way, including this one, which was found in good condition. All logs were signed L.L10n and Sdl or vice versa. Pity about the missing WP's but happy to collect this nice sized cache after a trip down the other side of the river. TFTC Eden teunis
This cache was the main reason we are driving to Townsville's Mega along this route. My calendar needed a multi on 1st April - no joke and there are very few in outback Queensland.
I admit to being disappointed that I missed out on the thrill of it being a multi still, but it was nothing compared to the jubilation of finding it.
What a fabulous historic house. Thanks for this great cache and the information.
Thanks Eden , I bet you and your family are disappointed the house will be sold. I have left a couple of pathtags hoping that you might be able to find them. Take FP for the great hide. I hope it can continue. SL

We had the opportunity to spend the night in St George on our way back from Cunnamulla after the recent event. Both sides of the river are beautiful, and we enjoyed exploring here very much. Signed with our team.

Our stay in Cunnamulla has come to an end, now its time to make our way home after such an enjoyable time had by all.
Our convoy of four cars headed to St George and stopped at all caches along the way. All were easy finds and in good condition. We signed the logs Something Catchy (domsky, Willis007, E_Smiley and Snickersallan)

Collected this multi whilst in St George heading from Cunnamulla to Goondiwindi.
Thanks Eden teunis for the cache.
Thanks Eden teunis for the cache.
& I are heading to QOGM in Cunnamulla for a long weekend and it’s late, we’re in the dark & we hit the GZ running! caching is great in the night time with a universe gazing down & a bright torch.
***COs- have got seriously behind on my logging from various trips by a few years. I'm haphazardly trying to catch up whenever I get an opportunity to sit down and log.To keep my stats in order, I'm logging your cache on the day I visited it even though it may be a few years ago. Apologies for the late log. *****************************************Had wanted to do this one for a while so after the event I went out here to find it. Made the find easily enough and signed my name and had a stickybeak at the impressive place across the road. What I didn't realise is that I had dropped my licence near the cache. I didn't find out until I got a phone call from the St George police to tell me that someone had found it and handed it in. As I was already in Cunnamulla by then I wasn't keen on doing a 600km round trip to retrieve it. A little brainstorming for a solution and it was sent to the police station in Cunnamulla where I picked it up. Thank you Queensland Police!??Thanks for the cache Eden Teunis, it's a pity it had to be changed but when I looked at the flood heights markers in the park in town I can understand why. I'm always amazed at the phenomenal amount of water that comes in a flood!??Leaving a favourite point here.??
Today was my first event cache and it was held in the beautiful town of St. George. Up early and excited, I headed over to grab the nearby multi and then back to the start of the event, waiting for cachers to turn up and they did, luckily. This multi was a nice large cache in a great little spot, thank you.
Now it is a drive into Cunnamulla to officially start my days of caching of the QOGM. Collecting caches along the road into Cunnamulla it was a beautiful drive in with a lot of greenery and then the red dirt started.
With a new stamper acquired for the QOGM event, I was excited to get my mark in as many caches as possible. We had some laughs along the way and started a game called name the carcass. Thank you for this trail and a good way to get out, stretch and break up the drive into town.

Would have been a good multi around here. Disappointed to hear the stages have been destroyed. Still a happy find nevertheless
On my way to Cunnamulla for QOGM. A shame the multi isn't working as is, but thank you for placing this here.
Heading west to Cunnamulla for the QOGM events, picking up a few caches along the way that appear on our route.
Nice to find a large multi, even better that the coords were provided!
Find #11650 @ 07:21
Thanks Eden teunis for giving us all reason to visit.

Sorry for the boiler plate logs, but I've found to many caches today to write separate logs for each cache.
Met echocage1 this morning at an event and we cached all the way to Cunnamulla together, for the QOGM.
Nice day, thankfully very little wind unlike yesterday.

Parked up to brake the journey on our way from the Sunshine Coast to Cunnamulla. A lovely drive along the river to GZ and a nice quick find. TFTC Eden teunis
Why is there an anchor all the way out on the plains? This one says it’s registered to a vessel from Krull.
A new road has been put in right past GZ and even has fresh roadkill. Thanks for the cache
Picking up some caches whilst on my way to attend QOGM 2021 Paroo at Cunnamulla.

TFTC. We are on the way to Cunnamulla for QOGM. Having left Thallon this morning St George was a good place to pull up to stretch legs and find a cache . We took the detour to locate this cache. A quick find. We did stop to admire the homestead nearby. Thanks for bringing us out here.
It was wherth the drive out. Found it .. like the house that is for sale, what a great history it has. Off to Cunnamulla meet tomorrow.
When we arrived at the posted coordinates, we were quite surprised when we read the description and perhaps a little sad that our tour of St George was to be cut short. Caching is often a good way to explore an area! So we punched in the final coordinates and headed off. It was out of the way, but a very interesting and we gather old structure.
With the cache found it was back to town for coffee and cake.
We move on tomorrow.
Today’s trip saw us travel from Roma to St George as we work our way to Cunnamulla from where we will launch our journey back to Victoria. We picked up a range of caches designed to. Real up the journey and had a mini tour of Surat. A short day travelling and some good sightseeing and caching.
Thank you to the local COs for developing and maintaining the caches to enhance our travels.
