Found with richlink during our annual caravan geocaching trip. No problems here, a nice quick one as the sun was going down.. Thanks for the cache
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 7 - Jamestown to Whyalla via Caltowie , Melrose, Wilmington and Pt Augusta. I spent the morning doing a caching lap of Jamestown, including a previous DNF. Then I was on the road. I managed to stop regularly and in each of the small towns I passed though to do some of the caches along the way. As I went further west it began to warm up. I was very cold In Jamestown last night. I did some Labs in Melrose and in Whyalla before getting set up for the night and going on a short tour around town. I have driven down this old road a few times and know how bumpy it is, but I decided to give it a go, even with the van on. I just went slowly. There seemed to be quite a lot of other road users as well, so I had to stop a few times. This cache at GZ was nice and large as advised, but seemed to be a bit off from where all the trails lead to.Thanks for the cache LB46511.26 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Cache In Trash Out A#310**Albida**
Ocw the Bebes as we stay in nearby Spear Creek. Had to pick this up on our way through. Easy find. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Pulled up for this one on the way back to Spear Creek after a trip in to town. Surprised to see the unloved days here, a great sized cache. Tftc
My 2nd day of my trip heading to and around the Eyre Peninsular. Today I left from Applia and ended up in Iron Knob for the night. This cache would be find number 20 of 34 for the day and find Number 28 in total for this trip away.
Loving these large caches even I can find them with no help.

Trip to Port Augusta for Veterans Golf and time to grab a few caches on the way. As well as some more on the return trip back home. Good find TFTC
This is a wonderful cache container, I was up along the way to do a bit of maintenance on one of mine up the road and in the area to catch up with a fellow geocacher from WA. I have encountered a couple of blind snakes in my travels but wouldn't have thought they'd be in this area, anyway tftc.
Quick trip from our campsite at catninga station. Great views of the wind generators. Thanks.
Out doing my 2 favourite things with geodog Tonka and geosister H423L

On the ninth day of Christmas... went caching with Froghoppin.
Just one Frog, 'cos 9 frogs a leapin' wouldn't fit in the car
Off we went to the north today, and found a few things, great views, adventurous tracks, wild animals, and of course... your cache!
I've been blind drunk, but never a blind snake
Did find one in our pool last year. Turns out he wasn't a good swimmer.
A surprisingly busy road out here. And a nice big cache - could fit several snakes in that!
Our thanks to LíB for placing this cache on the SA geomap

Hunting around every day finding and signing using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Quite a lot of that actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
---
Please do stay as safe as possible when caching.
Keep a lookout for bogs, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now our borders are open - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Much appreciation of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Spears Creek Rd is an interesting short cut from Port Augusta to Horrocks Pass, and there are some good caches along the way! It’s a single lane width bitumen road and I would have said don’t try it with a caravan, then I see there is a caravan park half way along it!
I love Animal Facts, and love a large, so definite stop here. Thanks for an off-the-main-road cache LíB. No snakes of any variety sighted today.

Heading to the geo event in Wilmington so a bit of caching along the way. Rough bit of bitumen to get here, but nice gulf views. Quick find. Tftc
A detour along this odd bit of road. Cache was easily found
Today I started off in Peterborough and caches my way around the back roads in the northern area before finishing of the day with a bit of caching with Davidwazza near Wilmington and his event before making the drive home. A total of 89 caches for the day.

8109 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1220. We have missed some of your AF hides but will return to complete at a future time. Having been privy to seeing blind snakes we just had to do this one. SL Tnx 3lG
We have been travelling since January when we left Geelong and travelled up the centre to Alice then Darwin. We crossed the border into WA at the start of May and completed the Gibbs river road which has been one of the highlights so far
From Broome we travelled to cape leveque to find the best beach ever
From Broome we have then zig zagged from coast to inland to make sure we saw as much as we could
We are travelling along at our own pace and so will cache and see as much of the area as we can
Honestly it’s thank to caching that we get to see so much
TFTC
We have decided to stop in port Augusta for a few days as it seems to always be a place we drive straight through on our way back and forth up and down the centre
Great cache, easily found

We did a couple of caches in Stirling North before heading towards Wilmington. Our GPS sent us this way so had a quick check and found this cache listed. Thought we had finished the Animal Facts but I guess not, I wonder if another one will pop up somewhere on our trip back east.
We travelled along this funny, bumpy road one other time and grabbed the caches available along it then.
Whilst at the cache two other vehicles passed, reckon they wondered why I was where I was!!!!
Not the hide type we found in the others we did in this series but another of the CO's great big buckets. That was a relief after lots of micros and mint tins found around Port Augusta.
Blind Snakes sound interesting. Any snake that is non venomous is a good snake.
Thanks.

Off on our holidays, traveling from Adelaide to Nullarbor, Broken Hill, Mildura and the Mallee Region.
Chasing a few caches on the way, this was one of the caches we found.
Taking a few TB's along the route and placing a Pathtag or two as we discover the Yellow Smiley Faces!
The question is, did we find it worthy of a favorite point?
We thank the CO for bringing us to this place in lovely Australia.

Mrs Gizmo escaped for a two day caching trip to Port Augusta with Dr Owl and CPwanderer.
Day 2 had us making a few finds before breakfast and a few more before lunch. Then we made our way home, caching along the way.
Quick find of a good sized cache. This drive home sure is taking a long time.

As I continued my journey towards Alice Springs for The Red Centre event, I met up with DOC-WHO along the way today, and managed to stop by just a few caches to Port Augusta where we planned to stay the night. Fortunately we didn't see any kind of snake on our travels, but found this one safe and sound.

Found by Mary & David at 1130. Well hello once again. Thought we had said goodbye yesterday, but here we are at another of your caches. You do get around! Incredible views here of the mountains and the water. Until next time ... Our thanks to 3LG.
Hi there 3LG.
We found your cache **"Animal Facts : Blind Snakes"** at 10:47:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 15908).
We cached between Port Augusta and Wilmington today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 11 caches with 0 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
###Thanks for placing a large cache here. It is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches (without swaps) is increasing. While nanos and eclipse tins sometimes have their place in an urban environment these, along with 200ml Sistemas, seem to be the norm these days even out in more remote areas. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache here.###
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.
