Decided to do some walks and find caches around, on this pretty windy day. Found this one with no much trouble. All is well here. TFTC.
Third sttempt cant believe i missd it before. Great walk on a beatutiful day tftc
Thanks for the cache, spectacular afternoon from Lyttleton to Cavendish, Pleasant and down to Opawa
Came down the hill today to find this in the mist. Met a very agile 3 legged dog on my way down, with his owner. Cache is in excellent condition. Many thanks, TwoSharpe.

Came up despite the dampness today, and was rewarded with the scenic mist coming over the ridge and down the valley. So quiet I could hear the conversation from up at the gondola. Took a bit of scrabbling to locate the right nook but we got there. Tftc!
Found while on a dog walk. A new cacher made their first find all on their own here!
Today was TMGT day, so after founding a few caches by car, we went up Bridle Path. The goal was go around crater rim and then back to Lyttleton. Given our friends were not as fit as we were, and we were all wet, we decided to go down using Major Hornbrook. Kids stopped on the way to look for a cache, we pointed it to them, and they were thrilled by the container and all the cool things inside. Everything was dry and in good condition. Thanks for the cache!
Great selection of things to swap and decorated container made it way more exciting for my daughter to find than some plain ol’ peanut butter jars. Thanks!
Out for a morning walk and had enough time to venture to this one. It was a lovely day and the track wasn’t to wet. The cache was a quick find and in good condition. TFTH
Out today picking up a few caches on a loop track. Great views and loved the peace of this walk, even if it was a bit of a puff!! Cache all safe and dry. Thanks for the very interesting history. TFTH
We visited Lyttelton and make a small hiking trip around. We found this nice cache on our way.

On our second day in NZ we made a ride with the Gondola to the summit, made a long walk to Lyttelton and back to the top. Very nice. Tftc
#17357. We parked up on the summit road at the car park at the top of this track, and decided to head down to this cache for the first find of the day, Track was in pretty good condition, with just a few muddy spots. The guard rocks were quickly spotted once at GZ. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on the first day of spring, and what a lovely day it was for a walk in the hills. We both needed 6 finds today to reach our 26 daily target, and 6 unfound caches in the area brought us here.
We parked at the top, and there was plenty of parking available in the morning, but it was chockablock by the time we returned about 4 hours later (we travel at my speed - super slow). As always, SW lead the charge and found the cache while I was still about 50m away. Track was in pretty good condition for this time of year.
Enjoyed reading the cache page write up about history of the area and Major Hornbrook - thanks for that and TFTC.

Had to find only using name and location because didn't have service! Found it though. Tftc from
Quick trip up to the top and back with a couple of caches to find on the way. TFTC
A very quick and easy find if you are coming from the right direction. There were signs warning of blastings and track closures, but thankfully they must have been taking the weekend off. Nice to finally get a few of these old but close caches ticked off. Thanks.
Heaps of track maintenance has been done but there is now a film of slippery mud on the surface. Made things interesting coming back down.
Marshall’s Geelong found this cache today on our NZ Adventure!
Such a great view from here. The track is very wet though!
Greetings from Australia!

Mrs Rincewind was off to Zumba in Diamond Harbour tonight so my mission was to drop her at the boat then find a cache (three). I decided on a loop up Chalmers Track to Major Hornbrook Track and down that one to the road and back to the car. Chalmers Track beyond tge old quarry is now a stream in places and chest high grass and fennel in others. I'm not actually sure council is maintaining it.
In the end I did the loop with time to spare so I'm typing this at Fat Tony's Bar & Swill with a beer handy.
This one was an easy find in the obvious spot. Phew! All good inside.

Due to some reasons I had to stay for 6 days in Christchurch. In the end I was happy for this opportunity, started to like the city and had a lot of time for searching some caches.
Thank you to all the owner for hiding. Had a lot of fun! Sorry for the standard log, but I can't remember them in Detail.
Wish you all the best.

Whilst I was in Lyttelton to gather data for the Lyttelton to Ferrymead Rail multicache I thought I'd also make attacks on the 3 trads that were up the hill behind the town. This was the second cache found on the Major's track. I had thought of continuing all the way to the Gondola building, but it was fortunately brief and so I made my way back down the hill, Thanks for the cache TS.

Beautiful weather, and so many caches to find out port hills way, so what better way to spend a Saturday than getting a whole bunch of them?
So we headed out for a family walk to do a bit of a loop around, and find a whole bunch of caches. Me, Hubby & baby, + mum & my brother.
We ended up getting 9 caches, which really wasn't a bad effort at all! I was impressed that we got so many!
Number two.
TFTC!!

Out for a nice walk with the whanau and a few caches along the way. I don't think I have ever made it to this path before, and I loved it!! TFTC!!

Finding the first cache on our way from Lyttelton we were thinking that it may be too muddy to reach this one but turned out that the muddiness actually ended soon after the first one and it was quite a smooth sailing further up the hill.
Twilight crept up on us but the cache was not too hard to find. Guarded by one medium-sized rock rather than multiple small ones though.

Found with my 3 year old boy on a walk down to Lyttelton from the gondola. Track was just as muddy as the sign warned us! Tom was keen though. Now back via bus. Pretty much the same as the Wangler trip I guess. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
We were in the area yesterday and the wee cachelet was keen to come back. We decided to park up and ride the gondola up and walk down to Lyttelton. The wee cachelet was keen and I was keen for him to walk the whole way. It was fun and a bit soggy in patches. The wee cachelet did really well and ended up walking 3.5km. I didn't carry him as he was filthy after finding the last cache in the bog. We got to Lytteltona and had an ice cream and then caught the bus back to the vehicle.
Quick find as I set the little cachelet on task.
Thanks for the cache TwoSharpe.

Out for an adventure with Nosynel to collect a cache or two. Was a bit boggy so we took our time. Had a great afternoon on a crisp winters day. Cache quickly found. Cheers for the smile.
BBear44 and I went for a geocache inspired walk in the Lyttleton area this afternoon. We didn't realise this was a turn off point for a round trip. This was the second of two geocaches today.

Thanks. TwoSharpe for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 4850 for me.

Great to be out hiking and geocaching at the same time. Great little find and interesting boy swaps. My 4 year old grandson really enjoyed finding and opening this cache.TFTC
Found with TipsyTrout on a great walk in the hills. We walked up the Hornbrook track from the bottom and came back down the Chalmers Track. I was very impressed at Mr 4, not a single complaint on the walk and he loved all the cool swaps in the cache. Great spot for a cache, awesome views, thanks for placing it and for bringing us here!
I decided to keep on going up the hill from the previous cache, a bit more of a slog. Now need to hurry back down the hill to get ready for night shift. It feels great to finally be getting more and more caches off my "too lazy" list. TFTC (3455)
We decided to walk down from the top for this one but, after the fires on the hills last night, we weren't too sure if all the roads would be closed. However they were not so we parked at the top and headed downwards. A nice easy find. Not so the walk back up! Tftc
Walked up from Lyttelton. Love these kind of walks but ready for the rest while we signed the log. TFTC.
Up to the next cache on the walk, and a nice spot to sit and sign the log. Thanks for getting me out and about
Another nice day for a wee bit of caching around Christchurch.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Quick find, sadly geodog rolled in a dead rabbit while I was signing. Yuck! tftc
A quick find after checking my cache in the old quarry. As the cache container was empty I filled it up with small toys.
Awesome location. Took our trackable, awesome to see it again. We shall place it somewhere fun.
Found at about 9pm. Cold, frost settling and a bit slippery muddy coming up! Having ftf Glycosamine figured that I may as well continue up to this Cache. Spooked a few possums along the way...funny furry things....
Found the Cache easy enough. Surprised to find no signatures in it though given that there is an online ftf....oh well....*shrug*...no pen on them maybe?
Great night views over Lyttleton. A fun slip slide back down the track....all good though. Cheers.
