A nice quick find. Great parking. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are off on a cruise around the south of the South. Great to be away. The day was back to normal, fine and sunny. So good, we decided to head up to Lake Mahinarangi for some "Fishing"Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
During my visit in New Zealand I decided to go on a morning tour to find an old cache I could use in my Jasmer. After that was found I also found a few caches on my way back to Dunedin. This was one of them. TFTC. My find no. 8.208. The cache is dry and in good condition.
How many times I have I driven past since this was placed? Too many times to count and each time I say 'there is a cache there' and each time we have either been going somewhere or coming home from a tramping trip and not able to stop. Well today we put that right by taking a five minute break to pull over, admire the view and find the cache. Many thanks for placing Hall-way
Nice to have a decent-sized area to pull over into. TFTC, my 31st today. Time to go home now.
It was my last Stop of the day, also my last stop for the trip, although not planned.
Had been a big day caching from Waipiata, planned to stay somewhere around here in my tent, but my bed in Invercargill was calling me.
24 caches today, and 87 (I think) this year.
And yes, I did stop for a pee stop.

On a roadie with Kiscardi getting some caches within a week of publication. This was a bonus. Thanks
My co- pilot today assured me there would be toilets out this way, so no need to look in Outram.
Hum, maybe if you are a male that is fine but not so for me especially with male company close by.
Anyways we disscovered that "need to stop" does not mean toilet stop. In fact we even drove past and had to do a u turn to make the stop at all.
Quick find of the cache and continued onto middlemarch for the needed "need to stop"
Thanks Hallway for placing a cache out here.

Needed to go and do some maintenance on Lomond Waltz in Naseby so decided to have bit of a raod trip and actully find a few caches (which we haven't done for a while). Just some easy park and grabs to get back into it. TFTC (14 for the day)
Ftfc. Parked up and had dinner in the camper here. Very noisy cows came to inspect us!
November is a busy month in most people's lives, second only to December I suspect. Teachers are very busy at this time as we begin assessing and writing school reports.
This probably explains why we have so many dot days in November and December! So the mission this year is to beat the COVID blues and the report writing mania by taking time out to fill dot days in the evenings.
Not much of a view tonight as the weather has closed in but we needed the cache to complete our dot day challenge for the month of November. Goodbye Spring. Hello Summer.

Have driven past here numerous times thinking I should stop and look for this one, one day. Well today is that day. Quickly found. Thanks!
Out for a day exploring with friends, this was our first find for the day. Quick find with Flamingo4850. TFTC.
Found with Hevic on a long weekend trip through Central and Northern Otago. Hevic had found one cache in the rain, this time it was my turn. I was spotted by a lot of muggles, but thankfully they were all four-legged and wearing wool coats. Admittedly I did feel a bit sheepish finding the cache while being watched a lot (heh). Cheers!
I came out this way today to tackle U.N.C.L.E.'S "Office" series - this cache was on the way back to Dundein and with good parking.
Thanks for this cache, Hall-way.

Yay unearthed this one, much easier to search in daylight.

Cache in place. Just pulling out when a truck and trailer unit stopped behind me. Luckily the log had been attended to. Tftc
My visiting Dunedin and spending a day geocaching in areas of my childhood and student days is looking like becoming an annual event. I was with gdkja and they already had this cache but stopped for me. Log quite damp but still able to sign. Tftc
On our way home from a trip around the block with 1sophie1 and P&Vee, found it would be great for a stop. Good find
I decided to visit Lake Mahinerangi and its environs todays and signing off the odd cache or three.
I didn't need to stop but I did for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.

Looked there. Missed it. Looked again and found it. Sadly a bit damp but still able to write on the log
Ive driven past here hundreds of times and never noticed this spot. We had to do a u-turn as we shot right past it the first time. A quick first find for the day and then back on the road heading inland. Log is damp but we still managed to write our names on it. TFTC
#17096. Good to be back on a sealed road again. Good parking here and a quick find. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 8 of our extended Easter break, today we are travelling from Clyde to Dunedin via Lake Mahinerangi on a beautiful Anzac day.
Great parking area off the main highway and a quick find as we slowly make our way to Dunedin. TFTC.

Today we found Need to stop. (Otago) on our travels.
We emptied the water out of the cache and signed the damp log, gave everything a shake and put it all back together.
Thanks Hall-way for being part of our geocaching fun.

We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
While in Dunedin we were mostly searching for the old caches that fill a gap on our date placed grid and some Challenge caches that fill a gap on our D/T grid.
This was on the way to one of our targeted caches and I wanted to stop and have lunch before we got to Sutton Salt Lake. This was the perfect place, far enough off the road with fantastic views and a cache as well.
Thank you for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley

Last time I looked for this one it was under a considerable pile of dirt. Much easier today. TFTC

At last, a free weekend before the onset of chaos. An early morning phone call...'are you able to take xyz up north to a customer?''
There was no excuse not to, quickly chucked clothes on dragged her outta bed raced into work, got parts, and on the road before 8am.
As we drove, the voice from the passenger seat, piped up and said ' look at all these, aren't we going near here?'
Oooh Goody!! Now it's a fun work trip, might be a long day!!!
A quick park and grab as we headed for home

WhTs not to love about a caching trip combined with downsouthinv having to deliver parts for work.
Any excuse is a good one, and time to head off the main road into the wilderness to find us some caches.

Came up here not long ago but ran out of time to get the rest so back today to finish the area off. This was a nice quick find. TFTC
We failed to find this cache in its old location two years ago, but today it was a quick easy find. The log was damp, but usable. TFTC
Headed out late morning before the rain arrived. Beautiful road and scenery. Dragged H and friend along for the ride. Cache a little damp but able to sign. Last one for the day. Home to do chores. Thanks.
Out and about for a Sunday drive with BCD. Nice quick find here today and glad to turn a frown upside down. TFTC
Down in dunnas for the weekend "caching up" with kjr.

I had a couple of house untill my flight was departing so I decided to go out and do some more Geocaches in my rental car. I found most of them and many of these were nice boxes and fairly hidden.
Logbook is a bit wet. Quickly found it!
Thanks for hiding!

Quick stop. Log book wet needs attention, didn't have anything to repair with sorry.
Called here on the way towards Dunedin this afternoon. A quick find here - signed log, TFTC.
Needed to stop, luckily no one else was stopping as well. Found the wet one and SL. Thanks for replacing the cache mate.
Returned to the stopping place and found the pot after a look over my shoulder at where?? the old cache would've been under all the overburden. Waltzed over to the spot I had searched last year thinking that a cache might've been moved there earlier, and found the new replacement and it was a little wet. SL on the dampish book and after wrapping the book in tissue, changed the bags and returned to cache and hide. Thanks for leading me up here again but gladly not returning back this way for a good long time.
A quick cache and dash whilst passing. Tipped water it of the cache and the log book is damp. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “Round the World in 80 Days” trip to celebrate retirement. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Greetings from England, TFTC.
Nice warm wet day, for a bit of caching in a area I have not been to for a few years.many Thanks Bitsprayer
Nice easy park and grab for the last cache of the day
Now hope to get to Dunedin without running out of gas lol
Thanks

Stopped by today and GZ covered with truck loads of clay etc. Cache needs repaired or archived.
I echo the concerns of two previous logs. I was a bit behind the others, waiting for my Garmin to settle. Walked towards GZ when I stumbled on something and found (by feel) that it was probably the hint object. Presumably cache was placed when grass was shorter, now the grass is long and probably permanently wet in winter. I wonder why container was placed where it was when there are other spots nearby which would probably have remained grass free and dry.
I won't put in a 'Needs Maintenance' request, but this one does need a look.
TNLN.

Not very pleasant poking around in the wet long grass. but with two others to help it didn't take too long. The best time to hunt for this cache would be after winter when the grass has been knocked back and before the spring growth get too vigorous. At least the concrete keeps it dry.
Stopped on the way back from a Queen's Birthday stroll up Deep Creek. Went to GZ and could see nothing at all of interest. So we all started trampling to see what might be under the long wet grass. First find some plastic drain coil, second find by KC a lump of hint object. All done while a man shovelled gravel in the layby not far away. Wonder why this wasn't placed somewhere where we could get it with dry feet?
Stopped here for a quick search but the long grass was soaking wet today so gave it away. But the GZ is undisturbed so suspect its hidden in there somewhere amongst the long grass.
Doc stepped on this one tyftc
Wekas should be right level to find this one. Dry grass today

We searched for while in the long wet grass, but failed to spot the hint object, which we assume has become hidden by the said long wet grass.
I drove past here twice last week on the way back from Macraes. I was too tired and just wanted to get home I think. I've got it now though. Thanks.
Found on 25/09/2016.

Nearly missed this one because the phone wasn't cooperating, but got things sorted out just in time to stop and pick it up.

Quick find and a great view. Found with Lollipop Cat and SpyDude13. Kia ora for the cache.
FTF. This was the second cache published in the past week for which I didn't receive an alert. Makes you wonder why you bother being a premium member. Maybe others didn't receive an alert either and that could be the reason the FTF wasn't snaffled for a few days? Or was it the recent road conditions that kept people at home? A bit of frost on the sides of the road this morning but, with care, the road was fine from Outram up to the cache. A nice quick sanity break from work. TFTC.
