Coming back from the Chalwell Galeries Walk, we grabbed this on the way to the car. TFTC!
The one good thing about the drizzling rain and fog, it kept the tourists away. We had this beautiful area all to ourselves, as we meandered our way to GZ.Thank you Jamin Appleford for highlighting this lovely location for us.
#6486.We visited Bright this past weekend and took one day to explore a bit of Mount Buffalo. We did not have enough time to see everything we wanted or attempt all the caches we wanted to, but we did stop at what we thought were a few highlights. This really is a special spot and it would be awesome to camp here. The views over the lake were spectacular today. The cache was quickly found and in good condition. TFTC!
SL at 13:00pm after a spot of lunch at the lake. Actually a pretty nice day. Cool and not raining. Bit of sun and rain. TFTC.
Found with nissan65 . Started our walk from Mackies lookout up to the chalet. Beautiful day for it stopped at the lake for lunch on out way to walk up to the horn.Nice quick find. Thanks for your contribution to geo caching
Thank you. Lovely walk, exactly where it should be! Sorry, no pen, so the kids couldn't sign!
Quiet meander after tea admiring the lake in that beautiful post-sunset light. However a quick detour seemed called for (between groups of kids which meant it actually wasn't that quiet!!), soon had the target in hand, signed, returned and back on the track without young, loud muggles being any the wiser
First cache of our trip to Bright, stunning spot for lunch and a nice walk afterwards. Definitely need some stealth to find it. TFTC!
Heading to Mt Buffalo today with LittleBoss2. This was a quick find once again. Great coords, thanks JA
Heading the the Mount Buffalo area today with Bogonghazy. Quick find. Thanks for placing the geocache beautiful view
Checking out Lake Catani for the first time today - lovely peaceful place, popular on a beautiful sunny day like today
We are back up in the North East to visit family and enjoyed a trip out to Mt Buffalo while we are here.
It was quite hot and also really busy as to be expected for School Holidays.
Thanks for placing the cache for us to find here.

Today was my day up Mount Buffalo. It rained on and off so everything was wet while searching for the caches. I made the approach the hard way, but returned via the path once the cache was found.
My thanks for the cache, Jamin Appleford.

While spending a few days in Myrtleford, we decided to head out to Mount Buffalo today to take the kids exploring and find a few caches along the way.
This was a fantastic spot, which in all the times I’ve been up to Mount Buffalo, had yet to really come and explore. After finding the cache, we wandered further along the trail until we found a place to sit by the water, and watched as many families played around. One particular guy came up to us and started a bit of a chat, in which we arrived at what we were doing here, in which he became hugely interested in geocaching. So much so that we took him back to the cache location to show him what it was about, and he was fascinated. Hopefully there’s another cacher born!

You may have heard this one before but... We didn't have a pen.
We're one of the lucky ones NOT in lock down and in Bright for a holiday we've had planned for Months! Today's day trip was Mt Buffalo. After a quick stop for our chains that we definitely didn't need, we made our way to the Gorge.
A few photos and a quick(ish) walk to the lake we thought we'd check for caches. The first for the year and probably longer than that. The muggle kid we had with us was practically standing on the cache when hubby said "that doesn't belong there".
Sure enough the cache was found. We have photographic evidence if you need it.
You're very lucky to live in such a beautiful spot. We're very glad we made the walk to the lake and not just drove. Such a better way to see the views.
Another find by the McPhail Family. ...TFTC

Staying in Myrtleford for a few days and today we're on a side trip up onto Mt Buffalo, We've not been here for 30 years or more. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Stopped for lunch at the lake, great rest area and building.
Of course l went the hard way for the building and ended up finding the prize 3 meters from a track , easy walk back
**Thanks for placing this cache Jamin Appleford**

Quick find, using stealth amongst the swimming muggles around walking and swimming. TFTC
Camping & enjoying dinner by the lake with a fire in the fireplace. Tranquil in this pre Christmas season. Coords good for this find. TFTC

Walked over to the lake, it's not camping season yet so I guess this is the quiet period! The quiet time between the snow melting & the population making it's way up the mtn.
found it very nice spot thanks for bringing us here found with geo kids and goat girl 44
Lake Catani wasn't on the plans for the day but we headed here to see what the camp grounds were like. After checking them out we did the Lakeside Loop and I stopped to look for this cache on the way through. No troubles finding the nicely hidden cache. TFTC
Without a proper GPSr I was struggling today. Also didn't want to do anything risky as I was by myself. Thank goodness for this cache! At least I got one traditional up here!
On our travels from Brisbane down to Mount Buffalo we searched and found som Geocaches. Thanks to all owners for the Caches.
Plenty of tourists and campers enjoying the plateau today. Came up on a wee mission and made my way here. Nice quick find TFTC
Wow. Tough to find it. GPS all over the place but geokids and I very happy to be find and be here enjoying mt Buffalo.
What a beautiful area. Stopped by after our walk up tothe top of the Horn.
After a thorough search we found this cache in good condition. Had some muggle friends join the hunt. Then our party walked the lakeside track. Followed by a birthday dinner in Bright. A great day was had by all. Thanks Jamin Appleford for btingjng us here.

As mentioned by HappyFeet 1, Buffalo and district, we had a lot of fun on a Power Trail series as well as other caches. Yes! Shame a series was archived, but I/We thank all CO's for placement/s.
With the weather hotting up and a nearby serieds calling to be found, it was time to hit the road with OZREG and grab a few down in the is area before heading for the hills. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the trip. We had some fun and laughs along the way.
Stopped in to take a look at the camping area and since there were no muggle about, decided to make this quick find before setting up camp for the night ourselves. An easy enough find was made once at GZ. Will be back for a swim tomorrow.
Thanks Jamin Appleford for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Day 2 of the Gunks/Trailstevo weekend trek. Started up Buffalo. Quick find.TFTC
Day 2 of 3 of our little adventure in Bright. Started the day with the 5km Park run, followed by a breakfast roll in the bakery. Quick trip back to the cabin, quick change, more Equipment and off we set to explore some of mount buffalo and surrounds. Lots of shortish walks with the longes being 5km run, plus plenty of rock scrambling. Legs are totally stuffed now, and into Burgerville we went to smash a burger down which felt sooooo good, yummo! Thanks for the CO’s for today’s adventure.
Set up camp and then wandered down to this one. I suspect thus will be typical of the weekend - so many hiding spots but persistence paid off - TFTC
Muggle visiting from Wauchope for a few days. Lets go up the Buckland and find a few caches, She is into bird watching, which is a bit like caching.
Last time we were here in August, there was too much snow for a search. This time, we found it a bit damp after the snow, but signable. Thanks Jamin

Nice quiet lake with a few muggles having lunch. Fancy having a lake right up on top of a mountain. The water was a bit cold today, but we would like to come back to this lake in the summer and have a swim. Thanks for putting a cache up here. Took a bit to find with all the rocks and trees, but we did in the end. SL. TFTC. Left a few swaps and took the TB, which we will move on next week. Cheers.
I needed a cache outing and so begged dalerious to come out for the day!
OK so I didn't really twist his arm all that hard before he jumped up and said 'yes'
We had a brilliant day travelling far and wide and made 35 finds and only 2 DNFs which made for a great day
Finally I've found all bar 1 of the Spirit of Salts caches after finding my 1st one of the series in April 2015 at Whitfield when I came across to Vic and did the High Voltage series [^]
Oh and there were 2 FTFs found today as well and the stunning views and the fun of snow caching in the dark made the day a day that will long live in my memory [^] ... and that's saying something as my memory is screwed!
We found the 1st cache at 11.11am and the last cache at 6.46am... the following day! [^]
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

This was cache number two on a big day of bouldering fun and secret caching business.
I was solo at this point as the CO had gone off to look for eggs, so I took the nice short stroll around the lake with the late afternoon sun giving everything an orange glow. There were even a fair few people out having a canoe on the lake, wouldn't want to fall in as it isn't that warm at this time of year....
The cache took me a little while to find, but I eventually did and signed my life away in the log book.
Cheers

Quick find with TheClazzas youngest while Mr & MrsClazza set up camp. They were taking forever!!! Tftc.
Soo pleased we have made a weekend of this. The facilities here are fantastic! Enjoyed a kayak on the lake and the dingoes howling throughout the night were amazing .
Not impressed by the fox that stole our twin pack of mint slice biccies off our camp table though!!!

Apart from a hit and run on the Underground cache, it has been a while since BettyBoo3747 and I have driven up to the Mt Buffalo Plateau. A few new ones on the way up was just the incentive we needed. A lovely day for views, and it was nice to stop on the way up and admire them all (usually race straight up!)
In all the times I have come up to the Plateau, I have never stayed in this campground.
It was interesting to drive in and have a look around. We must bring the canoe back up here next summer.
A nice walk around to GZ (although, I think we took the long way around!)
An older couple were fishing off the pier - it looked very relaxing.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14229. Having spied some new caches published last week that happened to be on the road to Mt Buffalo and that seemed to be doable by ordinary caching folk, Robmc and I decided to make a day of it and head to the Buffalo. Another glorious Autumn day up here in the North East and all was right with the world as we enjoyed a great day collecting 14 caches with no DNF's. A nice start with 7 FTF's was a bonus indeed - we even found them after they had been published! Double Bonus!
Having enjoyed some lunch near the chalet and watched some school kids have some abseiling instruction we headed out here to the lake. I am still amazed that once upon a time people used to actually ice-skate on here when we had colder weather. Not any more!
We drove from one parking area to another and then discovered GZ was pretty much in the middle of both. A nice hide and well-concealed here. Left some of my litte Envelopes as SWAG, one of my Phryne Mirror Pathtags and also dropped in a tiny webcam geocoin.
Thanks Jamin Appleford

What a wonderful weekend in the Vic High Country, as Jacko, Timmo and I headed north-east to meet up with fellow adventurers for some crazy geocaching expeditions. Mt Feathertop and Mt Buffalo were our main target areas, and the adventures included technical tree climbs, camping, overnight hikes, serious elevation changes, cave swims, underground rivers, and a whole lot of fun!
After spending the night along the Buckland Valley we made our way back up to Mt Buffalo.
Pristine facilities for visitors and campers here.
I've put this on my list of recommended camping spots.

What an absolutely beautiful spot up here.
There was one thing nearly as impressive as the lake: The BBQ area.
Pristine kitchens, clean, sparkling BBQ area. Fresh clean toilets. I almost marvelled as the cleanliness here as opposed to the Crystal Lake Friday 13th location here.
Really glad we swung by here - awesome. Thanks JaminAppleford for taking us here.

Well after a DNF on a much higher terrain cache that I heard about a few hours later it was simply just above me.. Myself & ahomburg headed over to this cache. Basically at this point I was pretty much worn out from the hike across the Razor back to Feather Top and back down to Harrietville, the legs and hips were just feeling a bit too tight for a fun comfortable rock scramble over larger boulders this afternoon. Getting old sucks...
Well once at GZ we had to wait out some young muggles, who sure did take their time. Didn't matter thou as a pod cast by 2 American comedians bitching about how terrible Trump was made the time fly by. Well the cache was finally found and log signed. With such a nice day we checked out the lake nearby and the water was quite refreshing too. Great spot for a cache, thanks for bringing me here.

After grabbing lunch in Bright, Dave and I left all the cave hunters at Underworld and we headed up the hill. Feeling a little tires, we decided a cool off a little in the lake and find a cache while we were at it. Just our luck, we had 2 muggle kids playing on the rocks at GZ. Waited them out by listening to a podcast and soon enough, GZ was available and the well hidden container was found.
Many thanks to Jamin Appleford for the cache. TNLN.

We have been up to Mt. Buffalo heaps of times but never to this camp ground, and as with the rest of the mountain what a great spot this is. After spending 2 hours on a nearby cache and it being close to 40 degrees the only thing we needed was something to swim in.
We did have some problems though with my Oregon having us searching in what seemed like the wrong place. I then pulled out my phone only for it to direct me some 20 meters away. Cache was found quickly after the device changed and log signed.

We have been slowly making our way from Queensland down to Victoria to attend the Alexandra Mega Event and finding a few caches along the way. We decided to stay for a few days in Dinner Plains but ending up taking some time to explore a little further afield at Mt Buffalo We went for a few short walks and checked out some places for future reference should we be lucky enough to find ourselves out this way again
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the logbook, we continued on our way
Thank you Jamin Appleford for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

While camping at Lake Catani, we decided we should find a couple of caches before it got too dark. Quick find. TFTC
We were camped at the Lake Catani campground for the Anzac long weekend, and this one was just a short walk away. Very pleasant spot and I enjoyed the sounds of children playing by the lakeside not too far away. Not much in the way of contents, so I left a couple of coins - one foreign, and one an old Australian copper coin. Hope someone likes to collect interesting money (but not too much actual value!!)
After a little hunting around we found this one! Feels good after 3 DNF's, and what a glorious view over Lake Catani. TFTC
A great place for a relaxing weekend or just a day visit. But if you love to keep moving there is lots of walking tracks to explore.
