This was one of the caches I found during my time in Warrnambool.

cut my ankles on grass looking for it. did not expect it to be a black box! lots of fun
TFTC I have tried to do a bit more research since reading this sad story. As you say, alot of the history regarding these tragic events is lost or forgotten about over time.
RIP Margaret

A 5 day caching run, over the 2020/2021 New year period saw me leave on the Thursday the 31st of December and travel to the Brisbane Ranges, down to Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland, the up to Heywood, Dunkfield and Horsham, camping along the way. On the Saturday I met up with my caching partner, ilukaperi at the home of choocknchunk, where we spread the coronavirus around as much as we could. Enjoyed some 4wding around the Mt Cole area before making our way back home on the Monday.
This was my first day. Leaving home from Emerald, I travelled through the city and down towards Warrnambool. Grabbing some select caches along the way and nabbing some others just because. Had a great mix of caches today and at the end of the day found a campsite by a lake to see in the new year, quietly, by myself.
Initially I thought this was a strange place for a cache, but after finding it and reading, I get the whole point. Thanks for the cache, a sobering reminder.

Found with tassie expat while exploring this nice area. It's in good condition, wish I hadn't read the story of Maggie though. Tftc and the tribute.
This road turned out to be busy. frmen1 'posed' as photographer several times lol Sad story. tftc
Left Camperdown on my way to Portland to see the new Morris residence.
Picked up the odd cache on the way.
In Portland joined The Morris on deadly treadlies to do a couple of Adventure Labs.
I seem to be finding a few of the Little Angels series as I travel.
A quick park and grab, and read the story later.
Thanks, Robmc.

We are tour guides at J Ward/Ararat County Gaol and Henry Morgan's execution is one story we tell. Interesting to hear more of Margaret Nolan's life from this cache. Unfortunately inappropriate conditions and clothing prevented us from retrieving today. Will be back.
Well we took a trip out to visit this cache with a good result.
I was told about this cache by my Niece who lives in Geelong.
She is a decendant of the Morgan's and was doing some family research.
Cache dry at the moment.

We have now found a number of Little Angels caches - all have sad stories attached. Today accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. There was a little water in the container but the logbook was quite wet. Despite this the log was still signable. The logbook needs to be out in the sun for an hour or so - the consistent rain today was not the day. Thanks H_3 for the cache.
A slight detour on the way home from Warrnambool. Cache was found with some water inside. A sad story. Tftc
Heading homeward after spending the day in Warrnambool. We made a slight detour to find the cache. The poor family, I can’t begin to imagine what they went through and how they dealt with such a loss. Thanks for highlighting the story, albeit a very sad one, with your placement. Tftc
On a short holiday and on the way to Warrnambool. This cache provided a short diversion, not far off the highway. Soon in the correct area and gz ascertained, courtesy of a faint geopath. Quick find, soon signed and on to Warrnambool. Thanks for this one.
Found on my way home from the Camperdown event. A nice quick find and sad story.
Grabbed the TB

Cache intact and relatively dry. Thankyou for the reality check and tribute to Maggie. bmtc18
Thanks H_3 for another of this series. We read the description and again this is such a sad story. Senseless really.
We found the cache with exact coordinates and signed the log. No swaps made today. Cache in great shape.

I have a habit of noting on my phone that I found a cache, and then at the end of the day, writing and submitting a real log
Several months after finding this cache I find that I have missed a few.
I don't remember anything significant about this cache other than I dropped a tb here so I can't comment except to say something trite like 'tftc'.

Found with FUF009.
A 3 day weekend for both of us meant testing the new swags and caching in areas we both had loads of choice from.
Meeting at Panmure and sussing out where to camp was the 1st priority (Lake Ellingamite), then merged into 1 car and hit the trails.
We changed camping location to near Colac for the 2nd night, less bugs more wind.
We had a wonderful weekend with many interesting finds and locations. Thanks to all the cache owners.

Found with sharkiefan on a camping and caching long weekend in the South west area of Victoria.
We visited from Mortlake to Port Fairy to Colac to Timboon and everything in between, and finishing up in Ballarat on Monday evening for the Giff event.
Another little angel cache found.

Found the angel on Mother’s Day on our way home after spending time with our family. Thanks for this memory.
Perhaps i parked in exactly the right place?? Managed to find this easier than i think was intended. Haha
This is a Lonely spot for a memorial of a very sad story. I suppose it helped concentrate my mind on the sadness of the whole situation. It also highlights the truth that nasty things can happen in the country as well as the city. TFTC
What a sad story about Maggie. It’s great that you have created this tribute for her. I guess, at least people did pay for their crimes back then. Nice final location too. I liked the older castle like structure on the other side of the road. TFTC H_3
While on holidays in Warrnambool we headed out for a drive to check out the district.
A quick find here but what a sad story. Glad to be back in the car though as the flies were horrendous.tftc

**Out and about around en route to Warrnambool**...
*Grabbing a few smilies along the way*...
It was a cool but fine day as I headed south for Christmas.
A nice quick find too (always good).
Although a sad story, I love the idea for this series.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment H_3... Appreciate your efforts...

Stamped and returned as found...
Took: Nothing
Left: Pathtag and a favourite point.

What a tragic story. We cannot imagine how hard it is to lose a child in such a situation. SL TFTC
We were staying Port Fairy for a week to celebrate our 25th anniversary and find a cache in the last 4 LGA's for the Victorian LGA Polygon Challenge cache and reach our 5000th cache. Mission completed we are now on our way home to Melbourne.
Oh this is so tragic!! So tragic that I am going to share this on facebook - it is wonderful that you are keeping this little angel's memory alive by this cache
TFTC H_3 - I plan to read all your Little Angel Cache dedications and when we are next in the area we will also find the caches! - GJMMelb

These tragedies are not something I would ever know about but for your heart rending caches which bring them back to living memory again TFTC H-3
Very lonely drive from portland to melbeoue by yourself but geocsching makes the trip more enjoyable TFTC.
This is such a sad series reading the stories. Shame we have not evolved and today's news is just as horrifying. Good cache.
First Cache in 5 years, shame it was raining and windy. Took nothing, left a bunch of swaps. Happy Caching!!! Does this cache go under from time to time?
Found as we passed through the area, such a tragic story, and we can only imagine the heartbreak and devastation her family felt, something no family should ever have to go through, thanks for the cache
Found on our way home from Warrnambool. We decided to head towards Noorat/Glenormiston to check out some family history in the area and found ourselves passing by to we stopped to find the cache. Which is in great condition and easily found. TFTC H_3.
A family day road trip, we visited cheese world and brought a supply of cheeses and also had an icecream, we diverted to find this cache after reading the tragic story of Maggie, we were saddened to read how an innocence child lost her life to a cold and calculating person TFTC
Thanks for the cache. Out for a drive looking at volcanic cones. Very sad story.
Caching solo today as I headed home - the long way - from a weeks holiday in Port Fairy (hubby had the kids and caravan)! A nice quick find here. Many thanks!
Today we spent the bulk of the day underground investigating caves and Lava Tubes around Budj Bim National Park having a wow of a time. Now Ausfox; Neville_devil and I decided that it was time to head home to Geelong via Warrnambool for some Dinner and fuel. After Dinner and refueling we stopped for two last caches Panmure, this being the last for the day.
After reading the cache notes I was saddened by the story and as a father of eight I was angered [:(!] by how anyone could be so horrible to children. The only comforting thought is that they caught and punished the culprit.
Thank you H_3 for the history

After an awesome day caching in Mount Eccles National Park with Jacko83, Simsfamily, Nevile Devil and myself we headed for home with a few stops on the way.
This was the cache of an awesome day. This cache change the mood after reading the notes and a reminder of how cruel life can be.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache H_3

Suscoe was heading home after a beaut weekend of music at Port Fairy,
The skies had cleared by the time we got here.
Fog all gone now.
A quick find on this quiet road.
Another sad memory from the past to think about.

After a great weekend in Portland catching up with friends after the 8 months to the mega event and caching with SuperPop it was time to head home picking up a few caches along the way.
This is the first in this series that we have found and being parents we can't imagine what the family went through back in such a trusting era when kids could roam free.
The area near gz is quite overgrown with grass but the cache was located right where the GPSr was pointing and our name has now been added to the logbook, we must say the added touch on the cover of the logbook.
Thanks H_3 for the cache and the history.

Travelling home after a fascinating weekend in and around Portland, this is one of a number of spots where we pushed the "pause button" and successfully added a smiley token to our collection.
Apologies for the late logs, we are still catching up after an almost fatal computer meltdown.
Thanks H_3 for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

A quick and easy find on a long weekend geocaching road trip with Geoturtle37 and OzHockeyChic, as we head down to Portland for an event on Saturday. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Wow, what a sad story. I then spent some time reading old newspaper articles about the case. Turns out he'd allegedly murdered another little girl in Bridgewater some years before. The newspaper articles have some wonderful English prose describing the 'diabolical murder' by some 'fiend in human form'. They certainly don't write like they used to. My heart went out to the poor father who found his little girl in such a state. Thanks for the hide and the history lesson.
Another cache of this sad series we found this evening, I left my family in the car and made a quick find under torch light, the co-ord's were spot on (again) and the cache was logged after a short search. Thanks H 3 for the hide and sad story of this area.
