Reperio 14:02Day 5 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Eden to Canberra, and it was another long but fantastic day of geocaching. As it had rained overnight, the bush land we had to walk through in the morning was quite wet, and so getting to some of the caches was made a little more tedious and difficult. Our goal for today was to complete the VB series, and then head towards Canberra later in the evening. Fortunately most of the caches we searched for were found, and there were certainly some fantastic containers along the way.Gratias Boeing737As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
A quick stop for a cache and coffee before heading into the misty mountains, TNLN thanks.

Day #4 [17-2] of 5 for my trip away. It’s sad leaving the beach because reality has just started calling me. I know I’m still on holidays until the 20th but it already calling. However, I’m not going to let that stop me from enjoy every moment I have left of it. I started the day by heading to the beach to see it one last time. I also went to the ‘Cranky Café’ and had a brekky wrap for breakfast. Next, it was time to head back to the motel, pack the car and head off to Canberra, which was today’s main mission. I will need to return to Merimbula, with the correct TOTT and hints to ones I DNF, so I can find the rest of them next time… yes of course, visiting the beach. I found many caches along the way, most of which were quick and easy find. A couple took a little longer to find because of either I was site seeing and/or because I couldn’t find the cache for quite some time. I arrived at my motel in Canberra at 4:30pm and just enjoyed rest in the room. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTC’s
P.S. Sorry, about the generic logs. I will endeavour to edit them at some point in the future for the extended story, FP’s and/or photos. This is when I have more time on my hands.

Quick find here and all in good condition. Found with Joolay on a drive to Bega. Thanks for another caching adventure Boeing737
I have to start the walk, but already grateful for taking me here, and someone it’s just so nice to find an easy cache - just what I needed! Thanks!
After spending a really interesting weekend in Bega and Tathra looking into what some of my early descendants got up to, time to head to Canberra to visit some of my own immediate family. So of course, had to pick out a couple caches along the way to break up the journey!
Ever since my first cemetery cache, which I felt was not respectfully placed, I’ve been concerned about how they might be positioned. But this cache, like all of the ones I’ve found since that first one have been very well positioned. With a very generous hint, the prize was quickly located.

Day 4 of my trip to Bermagui via the Snowoies. Camped at Tantangra Reservoir for a couple nights 4 trout caught looks like we got out just before the bad weather hits. Onward to Bermagui today.
Quick park and grab here. If I had more time I'd explore the nearby reserve.

Today was the second day of my trip to Nimitabel and Bemboka. I headed down Brown mountain for Bemboka and found my way to the riverside reserve to do the series of caches on the walk in this reserve. It is a great area, and it was full of wildlife. The long wet grass lead to very wet feet, but I made it all the way round and found each of the caches. I then headed home with a stop in Cooma and a few along the highway. A great weekend and lots of caches.
Thanks for the cache Boeing737

A quick park and grab before starting the river walk. Found with k8tybee and Nibletricecakes on the way home from our brief getaway in Merimbula. TFTC
The narrow opening on the cache can make it tricky to extract the log. Otherwise, cache and log are good. A nice view from the cemetery. TFTC Boeing737.
After setting up camp at the nearby camping ground/ sports ground we walked along the road to the cemetery to do this series of caches
This was the first one we found as we entered the cemetery, cache was located quickly and in good nick

With the Canberra Day Long Weekend upon us, the FFLL ladies and I usually take off towards SA or the likes for some caching, however with the unpredictability of COVID on the borders, we decided we would try for something a little closer to home. We decided that we would come down and have a crack at the VB trail around Eden and Merimbula. It was a great weekend away with both the FFLL ladies and it was nice to see the ocean and get some sun on our faces.
Collecting smileys along the way to the coast, this was our next en route. A nice quick find here, another lovely little cemetery to visit.
Thanks for the cache placement Boeing737 and thanks for the wonderful weekend away FFLL ladies Always enjoyable and always something to look forward to.

The Canberra day long weekend falls on the first weekend in March so we usually take this time to head out of town. So this year, the caching troupe of us and Rapidlywild decided to head to the Merimbula / Eden coastline to collect a few smiley's.
Our travels took us through this way, so we decided to stop and collect the caches that came across our path.
A quick find, thanks for the placement Boeing737.

A drive from Bega to Jindabyne today. Lots of country roads with great views and nice little towns. Also a cracker of a day with sun and blue skies.

The cache was out in the open with what we think is the camo besides it. Signed log and returned to what we’re hoping is it’s correct posistion. TFTC
A really nice break in our trip to Merimbula. Never been here before and it was a little gem. Caches were all in good condition and easily found. The stump was indeed full of some undesirable items but this in no way impeded our ability to sign the log and the warning is more than sufficient.
Geowife allegedly spotted two platypus (although I didn't see them myself) and insisted that we award you a FP on behalf of the series. TFTC B737 and for placing and maintaining this series.

Sunshine and an opportunity to go caching, what a great combination. After parking the caravan at the adjacent camp ground we were out finding caches. Got this one. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to Boeing737 for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
#16861. A big day travelling between Tumbarumba and Eden. We started early but it was a long, hot trip and it was good to finally arrive at our destinaton.
I do like a cemetery cache and I enjoy a wander through to look at the headstones and read some history. Because this was at the perimeter I didn't get a chance today, - we found, signed, and continued on our way.
Thanks Boeing737

Xmas in Eden with BettyBoo3747. We left Tumbarumba and headed along the Elliott Way.
A great drive over the mountains and down into Eden.
We only collected a few random caches on the way.
A nice quick stop at the gates, we will be back to do the trail when we have a bit more time.
Thanks, Robmc.

here’s a photo of little cacher. It was lying in the open grass, we might try and camouflage it a little bit more.
We are having a short break from the dry and dusty inland and spending some time watching waves and the magnificent whales. We have been to see the platypus at Bombala today - just wonderful! Thanks for adding to our enjoyment of this beautiful region and congratulations on your sensitive placement of the cache.
We are having a wonderful time on our short break on the coast. We have seen platypus at Bombala, whales at Merimbula and Eden and done a little geocaching on the way. Many thanks for the cache.
Nice little weekend away with fitzy_1965 catching up with friends in Merimbula.
After a chilly night and rather windy morning in Nimmitabel, we packed up camp and headed off for a day of caching before arriving in Merimbula for the night.
Next up was this cache before heading around the reserve nearby.

Heading down to Merimbula with minniek for some caching and to catch up with some good friends. After camping overnight at Nimmitabel we headed off this morning to continue our caching journey. This was a nice quick drive by find - now for the walk around the reserve !

Almost forgot to log this one, found on our way back home after a very happy few days caching in Merimbula, Silvereyes left before us, but who would know, we would catch up at a cache!! Easy find, tufts
Found by Mary and David at 16:15:00. Today we start for home after a great week in Queanbeyan at the Clear Waters Mega. A FP here even before Mary got out of the GeoPrado. She loves cemeteries for the symbolism of the headstone designs, and the social history in the epitaphs. No time to do the others around the Reserve, so we'll just have to come back another day. Some exquisite carvings - a perfect rose with a broken stem for a young woman, clasped hands, and shamrocks. The poor Barrett family, who lost a baby on 22 Feb 1903, and another child on 22 Feb 1906. A beautiful resting place. Our thanks to Boeing737.
Love a good Cemetery cache. Found with sjg66 on a quick trip overnight trip to coast. Stayed overnight at Gillards Beach near Tathra, which I can recommend to anyone heading this way.
Found quickly with assistance from the hint. After this one I tackled the series on the walk around the reserved. TFTC.

A caching mission! This time organised by KittyKatch to grab some new caches from Moruya to Broulee. Quite a few us joined the walk on a lovely Saturday . TikvaNZ joined me for the drive and we decided to grab a few more caches beforehand and afterwards. On the Sunday, we headed south and ended up doing a caching circuit, Moruya, Bega and then up the hill to Cooma and home again to Canberra. A fantastic trip planned!!
This cache: quick find! Nice way to start the walk!!

After a wonderful weekend camping, caving, swimming and hiking with outdoor adventure church in Wombeyan Caves, K8tybee and I headed off on our love heart coastal adventure so we could enjoy a couple of extra days away. Such a crazy trip with art shops and cheese factories, gardens, trailer pickups and pubs in 4 new counties, spanning beachs, bushland, farms and mountains. Definitely a trip to remember! Thanks to all who have kept these caches alive. We will be back again soon to collect some of the many we have had to leave behind this time around. Tftc

Did this one after doing the nearby nature reserve walk. I hadn't seen the cache on the GPS as the parking place was blocking the icon, but when I clicked on the nearest cache after the reserve walk, it pointed to here. So a quick find before heading back to the car and TFTC.
This was our first find in what was then supposed to involve the Bemboka River Reserve series... unfortunately, once we entered the reserve, our efforts were thwarted by a massive brown snake... being from Perth, and not up to speed on local snake deadliness levels, we decided to assume it was poisonous, and backtracked very quickly! At least we got ONE today, if not seven... TFTC
Today we came to town to explore the area. Who knew there was such a gorgeous bit of bushland hiding behind the cemetery. So here goes.. this one was a quick find. Thanks for sending us on this adventure.
The CBR_Grahams are off to the coast for a welcome holiday, but what better thing to do to break up the drive than to visit a really cool little town and soak up some of its history and great reserves.
We parked just outside the cemetery, it felt wrong taking the car inside even though the sign indicated it was possible. My girls spent a lot of time reading the head stones and reflecting on the extremely high infant mortality that was experienced more than a cerntury ago (though they didnt use those words).
The river reserve is a really beautiful place and a pleasant surprise to find, so glad I did my research before hand and chose Bemboka for our leg stretch as it turned out to be so much more than a leg stretch. Thank you for bring us here!
This was the first hide found, and we were off to a great start. The geokids had some agonising times deciding over swaps... they liked all the little marble/glass stuff. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

When Darksidedan suggested a 5 Event haul over the New Year’s Eve -Day period, the challenge was on and the idea hatched for a 7 Event haul instead. What a crazy world we live in. So with 2 co-drivers, Darksidedan and Joolay we set out from Canberra at 8:30 to travel to Bermagui for the CITO.
My humble apologies to ZimbaW for our untimely arrival and departure at that Event as we became distracted by all the caches in Nimmitabel and Bemboka. Some were very easy and quick to find but others caused more anxt as they took up what we later realised was precious time that we didn’t really have if we were to be back in Canberra for AngelG27’s bbq Event.
What fun it was to catch up with so many friends there – many of whom had travelled long distances . Great to see you Wazza9 and Nana Nel! After bidding them all farewell, we headed north, stopping along the way to fuel up - both the car and ourselves.
It wasn’t long before we were in Moss Vale ready for Throsbyonchurch’s event. We were, for a change, slightly early. We decided to grab 2 more traditional caches – Whytes Tailoring Department and Henderson where we encountered a juvenile fox who wasn’t very happy with our intrusion. At the event there was a good turn up of friendly faces and we had a chance to relax and chat here for the first time as our next commitment was only 15 minutes up the road.
So it was that we arrived in Bowral. We wanted to do the Earth cache, but numerous muggles made that impossible. We met up with the contingent of fellow cachers who had also travelled from Moss Vale but our numbers had now increased to include some from the coast. To our delight many of us were able to claim a multi here despite the muggles, thanks to a fair bit of help.
The 3 of us were starting to fade by now, but it’s not far on to Mittagong. Once in the town I decided that Alice, aka my car Nuivi, must have been rather weary too, as she wanted to keep taking us where there were no roads! We eventually found our way in to the GZ which was quite close to a Puzzle cache I had solved in preparation for this excursion. After signing its log we wandered across to our final event for the evening but our first of 2018. What a great time we had! After lighting up numerous sparklers to welcome in the New Year, we again had time to chat before heading off to our motel for a very welcome sleep.
Many thanks to all the COs for placing these caches which helped us to enjoy the most remarkable trip. And to my 2 co-drivers a huge thank you for all the fun, laughs and adventures along the way. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring!
Apologies for my generic log.

I was driving by on my way back from the coast and saw that there was a cache nearby, so pulled in off the road for a look. Initially I parked in the wrong spot but then drove down right beside gz and then saw a likely structure, thanks to the hint. A quick search and I soon had the cache in hand. Signed the log and replaced it all as found. TFTC
