This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

The first 100m to the cache has been mown but after that the long (and wet) grass made it unpleasant (see the previous log notes). The cache contents are indeed in a sorry state. Anyway thanks for the cache.

we missed this last time we were here having a few hours to kill today I was able to head off and pick up some caches over here that are still to be found, this one was first on the list, weather was overcast with little wind, last time we were over here we thought we could get to this via the park, but then spotted the parking coords, ok this seems to be simple enough follow the track.. all going well until we are faced with a very over grown "track"?? not sure if its meant to be this over grown, with so many prickles and long grass it was slow going as I wasnt sure where I was putting my feet, a little surprised it hasn't been maintained to the level of most doc areas. finally found the cache, the bag has either had mice nibble away or its falling apart log book wet but still able to be signed for now. thanks for the placement, but really needs some love on the track and the cache

We headed this way towards Wanganui just before lunch to get some long awaited caches this one was on the list to do today. I think the grass has grown a lot since I last went by this way. No track here to speak off. its all over grown by grass. We finally made it to ground zero not a long walk just tiring battering through the grass and lifting and placing the feet correctly. Signed the log and placed back where it was found. now to battle our way back to the car. We were going to get this cache on Doc week but we ended up Taupo way and got Doc caches along the way was a great weekend and fun to do. Thank you for placing a cache for us to get a smilie.

Saved this cache to do with one of the grandies, MasterN. So off we went today to hunt his one done. As he was soon overgrown by the long grass it was a ride on Poppa's shoulders, the best part of the walk for MasterN. Made our way to GZ where MasterN soon spotted the cache.

Signed the log and left as found, although noted the pet rock has gone. MasterN back onto Poppa's shoulders for the walk out. Both ways, we were squawked at by the Parries from their great vantage point on the big dead tree. Also heard a Tui in the distance.

Suggest if you are tackling this cache, gumboots are a must and although it had not rained for a while, the grass was wet and is quite tall so you will get wet up to your knees.

Thanks for the placement DOCWhanganui, pleased to see these happening on DOC land and hope there will be more in time. I am looking forward to doing the two on the Atene Walkway, but may have to wait until summer gets here proper.

Found it with B Family! Would definitely never have been to this side of Gordon's bush if it weren't for this cache. Thought the marshy wetland was cool and so did the kiddos. Thanks for the cache DOC!

Went and took the the kids for a walk around Gordon's Bush for Father's Day. How convenient there is an unloved cache here for me nice and easy find for the kids even if the grass in some areas was taller than the daughter. Thanks DOC for the placement and the smiley.

The temptation of some hut passes was too great so we dashed off to Gordon's bush still in our farm clothes. Just after we arrived Adventure Collectors pulled in too, & we teamed up to go in search of the cache.
We followed the track around for a while in search of a track heading in the right direction, but nothing seemed to do the job, & we were just going in circles. It was then that we realized we needed to enter from the no. 3 line side. We didn't know that this was part of the bush, although I'm not sure how you'd get into the actual bush part from here anyway!
A nice straight forward find once in the right area.
A bit of panic when Mr Rattll couldn't find his phone, but it turned out he'd left it at home - Doh!
Thanks to Adventure Collectors for adding to the fun of the hunt....., & letting us have the hut passes.
We've visited this park numerous times when looking for caches & harriers have a run starting here, so a jog around the track was a nice way to warm up.
Left a pet rock - a kiwi. Thanks for another DOC cache, the joint {FTF}, & the hut passes

I was about to head out for the day when this new cache popped up so after getting the details loaded into my gps I headed across town to hunt down a ftf (haven't had one of those for a while). As I headed into the carpark rattl were jumping out of their car also ready for the hunt. After walking in circles it was decided a different approach was needed and our new approach led us straight to the cache. A quick find once at GZ.

Maybe a waypoint could be added to let other cachers know that parking at the main carpark isn't the right place to be but rather parking on the no 3 line near a white bridge is better suited as a starting point.

Thanks rattl for the company as we hunted down this cache. I had a lot of fun.

I've only visited Gordons Bush when hunting down a cache but isn't that the point of caching, to get you out and about collecting adventures.
