Found with MINZ on a warm windless midnight and a nice spot to have a cuppa. Tftc
On a geocaching jaunt this fine Waitangi Day afternoon to pick up the caches along the Clutha Valley-Clutha River-Rongahere Roads route - never been to Beaumont via this way before - ended up missing a few due to complete mobile coverage dropout crippling the app, so will be back this way another day. Enjoyed the walk and scenery. Scoped out a number of nice fishing spots for another day as a bonus. Took a little searching but paying attention to the hint had cache in hand quickly enough. Tftc.
Gps took me straight to the hide and from an angle which made it easy to spot. Cache all good. No spiders today. Thanks for the cache, Natalie247#5385 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
No luck. But considering there's evidence that the river had been at least waist high????
Well driven past so many times, so it was great to spot and nab it at last. - Thanks Bitsprayer
A nice quick find after a nice wander from the car. Luckily the terrain is different to what the map indicated. thanks.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. A day spent collecting smileys around and about Balclutha. It rained a wee bit about lunchtime, but it was a glorious day for caching!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Missed the red marker but GZ caught my eye. That's the beauty of 2 people in that if he goes here I'll go there. Sometimes it works. Lived in Alex/ Clyde for nearly 7 years and never came here. Tftc
I do not know why I did not get this cache the last time when I found it's neighbour. Tftc
This one took a bit of looking but got there in the end by Mr p&vee plus managed to bring back some firewood.
No luck here today got to GZ and checked hint thoroughly checked all trees in the surrounding area, some have hollowed out recently can see the insides of freshly fallen out chunks on ground (especially the most likely culprit to hide the cache in) fingers crossed I’m just cache blind will add it to the recheck one day list
*Found on a nice day going from cache to cache with woolwood9.*
We soon had the container located. SL: **tm/ww NZ**
Thanks for putting this out for us to visit!
Nice walk along to this one!

I couldn't Knot get this one, as its another Wonder that I needed. One more Wonder to go on my journey south, I think.
A trip up to Central picking up a few caches on the way. A nice walk along the track and a good run for the pup, took a bit of looking but found thanks to the hint, not sure the marker is still there. Cache all good tftc Nat
I spent a bit of time seaching for this one i found the hint object and worked my way backwards to score the smiley nice camo tftc natalie247
I thought I had to go way over there. But no so ended up going past it 200 meters before realised. Back at GZ and the hunt was on to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers
Thursday 12 November. Its exploring the Clutha River today to Beaumont and back down to Lawrence. Lets get moving Toby.
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

As the country enters a 4 week lockdown, it is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces by avoiding them (this includes cache containers).... to remove temptation, I am disabling this cache. Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Seem to be following the same cachers around, I looked and spotted web prints TFTC
I liked the map showing me walking on water
Never found the trail marker but got the cache.

Headed out today to pick off a bunch of caches alongside the mighty Clutha, as part of a last-minute effort to grab the final souvenir for the Museum challenge. It took a little while to find this one - not reading the hint initially hurt. A little perseverance later and I had the tricky little thing in hand - an easier one than I made it, for sure. Cheers!
Passing by this cache as I headed to Alex to go to some maintenance on discovering gold, then the plan was to go back home via clydevale to check on some of those caches on the trail.
All good here.

Found with my brother just as we were about to leave. My pen didn't want to work to well on the paper so it was hard to sign.

Recent floods in area, in particular the River Clutha means this cache could be in poor condition or missing. I am unsure if can make it before Christmas to check on it. Please do not do a throw down... but emptying water or adding in new paper would be rewarded with good karma thoughts from this CO.
This took longer than it should have, probably because we focused too much on the red thing, eventually found it once we widened the search. An interesting spot here, kind of creepy on an overcast day but potentially lovely on a summers day! TFTC
Looked for a while here, had to broaden our hunt and then dakotacats found it. TFTC
Nice and quiet with a babbling brook (actually a largish river, with eddies on the edge)
A wee search to find - tftc

This revisit was certainly going the way of my previous one with numerous trees been circled, search area getting further and further away from GZ, steam starting to issue from the ears etc, refocusing on GZ when suddenly there it was, right in front of my nose, well not actually, but down at waist level. Everything fitted with the hint and GPSr was quite happy with the distance. Despite the steam issuing from my ears a more enjoyable cache than the general park and grabs.
Missed finding this one months ago. WP was easily spotted and a surer walkdown on another sheep track soon seen what I missed before. Maybe the flooding had shifted a branch over to obscure the hide. Cache was a little muddy so maybe the level had reached this high. Wiped some of the silt off and SL the log. An extra log slip got popped in the cache before returning. TFTC
I had the day off today so decided to head out and get some photographs of the local area. Also thought it would be a good chance to hit some caches again. I have been meaning to grab this one for some time now but never seemed to get the chance. With all of the recent flooding, I was a little worried this one may have gone but as I was passing any way decided to give it a go. Also the last couple of log's had been DNF which had me a little concerned. The area showed signs of the raised river but I found the cache quite quickly. Inside it was nice and dry and the log book still had plenty of room for recording. Im glad this one has made it. Thanks for the effort of placing and maintaining it. The Roaming Haywards.
My readings took me well past the marker so I searched from there back towards the marker. No luck so I went back to GZ and had a look around. The track is impossible to make out as there have been a lot of sheep here since the flood and everything is more muddy than the photo the previous logger has put up. There are indications in places that flooding may have reached waist height.
I believe this cache is ok following heavy rainfall over last 48 hrs, however roads in the area have been affected. A state of Emergency is still in place - for upto date info on roads go to www.dunedin.govt.nz/road-conditions
A large portion of my caches have been in affected area and I am currently through work/voluenteering have to focus on other post flooding activities.
As I expect it will be at least 1 week until I can do effective maintenance runs to check and replace caches I apologise now if you were hoping to claim this for a dot day/Mary Hyde gold and it is not in its expected state.
I would be grateful for any comments on what needs to be done and help empty water and provide dry logs.

A quick easy find, although we didn't notice the track until we neared the cache, and still haven't seen the marker. TFTC
A clever hide here, it took a few minutes but eventually found it. TFTC [^]
Such a sneaky con to pounce on. Great camo. Walked down the GZ with the rising waters encroaching on the trail in places. Still not sure if the Clutha is tidal here?? It had been quite full and discoloured all the way to Beaumont after the rains. Found the hint marker eventually in the failing light after super day bagging over 50 caches for the day. Whoopee!! such a long haul around the district. Rivers tunnels bridges railwaylines stations trees churches info shelters cycletrails punts forests ironworks etc. Discounted the other object as a red herring and found the sneaky hide and SL. More time spent unscrewing the lid and the seal snagged in the thread screwing it shut too quickly. Slow down count to ten and do it again. Hide should be safe from rising water levels. TFTC
Heading back to Dunedin so another Geodetour is in order to get the remaining caches along the River. Nice wee walk and cache located on 2nd tree searched. TFTC
Out for a day hunting down the caches along the Clutha with Kiwigeoswami. Only one fisherman at this popular spot so we weren't disturbed in our search. We enjoyed the walk along the track. Cache soon found and log signed.
I hadn't been down into this area before. What a pleasant place for a walk. Is this where Blackhead Quarries extract river gravel for the concrete plant a few kms along the road? Took a bit to find. Nice little hole that fits the container perfectly. TFTC
(FTF) #85 @2325. Found with Sirbennis. A quick walk to this one and a lucky find and we were off to the rest of them. TFTC
