Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest. Smile

Neither a ladder or good balance just a giant leap of faith! Big Grin
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Tftc, having driven up and down here quite a few times while in the area. Today was the day to collect the caches before we head north tomorrow.
Quick find, did crack a smile

02-May-21
We were heading north for a CITO event and also a celebration event at Gympie but with car problems as we neared the CITO the decision was made that after the event we would turn around and head back to Caboolture. Drat drat and double drat.
We decided to use the old Bruce Highway and pickup what caches we passed as we did not wish to put undue pressure on the car.
Fortunately hubby has the height so there was no need for a TOTT at this cache. SL TFTC

I made my taller geodaughter walk with me to gz where she had no trouble at all accessing the cache. All signed and returned and off home for us now. Tftc Jones.gang & SPIKE Big Grin

10-Jul-20
The worker mentioned by the previous finder had gone home apparently, so no trouble meandering to GZ, and spotting the cache container. Now how do I get hold of it? No good standing on my dignity - I don't have any. Or getting on my high horse - I don't have a horse, even a low one. No Ladder either - perhaps if I was wearing stockings? No there too. But standing on tip-toes I could just reach, so soon had it in hand, and retrieved the log sheet to sign. Replacement was easy. TFTC jones.gang

23-Jun-20
While traveling to Gympie with my geodog Scruffy, we just had to stop and find a few caches along the way...
Part 2 of this worker ... well here he was working on the coastal side of the overpass.
Having a workers shirt on myself, Scruff and I 'inspected' the cement slabs of the structure.
The worker soon took no notice of us and went back to his work.
Within seconds, I was up, had the cache in hand, stamped, put back and we were back in the car.
"Come on Scruff, off to the next." Big Grin

All Good .. TFTC .. Smile

Heading up to Gympie for a work course, and managed to leave early enough to fit in a few previously unfound caches along the way. This was able to be reached with a good stretch and 2 feet still on the ground.

Log signed at 10:56 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie **Jones.gang & SPlKE**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

I stopped by this cache. A quick look and i headed back to the geomobile for a small ToTT. With the assistance of the small ToTT, access to the cache was much easier. I was soon adding my name to the log. I returned the cache to its spot and the small Tott to the goemobile, then continued my journey south. TFTC

22-May-19
Today we had a lovely tour as we headed on the way south with ilook4geo. We saw water and island views, pine forests and logging of the trees, as well as eucalypt forest and little quiet out of the way hamlets.
We had a really good day, with no DNF caches to record and each log was duly signed, with each cache being returned to its proper place before we moved on. This was an interesting series of caches along the old highway.
Thank you to Jones.gang & SPIKE for placing this cache and adding to the caching game.

I have driven past this cache many times but for one reason or another I have not stopped to look for the cache. Today, I had a bit of spare time so I called in to have a look.

The bridge caused the GPS to jump a little but when I determined that I was roughly in the right spot, I was able to step back and spot the cache.

I was making my way up to Gympie for a meeting and decided to pick up a few more of this series. It was also a chance to break up the drive that seemed to be throwing every weather event on the planet at me. Brilliant sunshine intermittently spread with showers that were occasionally broken up by more showers

I’m not sure where this road goes but there was a car parked on top of the hill. I didn’t know if it was a prospector waiting to peg their claim, or a serial killer waiting for some dumb cacher to be looking in the wrong direction. Dang, I’m just the right kind of dumb! tftc

This one we were almost unable to return as we are not on the tall side. It's not so easy trying to jump upwards on a narrow ledge!

31-Dec-17
Thirty years ago, New Years Eve was the highlight of the calendar - usually involving the beach, sunburn, a big party, hopefully some midnight smooching with a cute girl before seeing the sunrise on New Years day. How times have changed. Bromance wives were collectively glad to see the back of us (no midnight smooching tonight), so we set upon another road trip collecting caches north west of Brisbane.

When we arrived here, Swellerfungus took a short walk to do his own impersonation of the UK leaving the EU. Being the shortest of the Bromance, collecting this cache clearly was SeffnJarah's responsibility. Clever use of some gadgets had the job done.

Many thanks Jones.gang

Pete

31-Dec-17
No red carpet parties rubbing shoulders with A listers. No sipping champagne in a ski chalet in the French Alps. Not even a couple of sparklers and a get together with relations you can't stand. Such is the stunted social life of the Bromance on New Years Eve. So instead Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and Seffnjarah decided to pack up the Zoomin' Shroom and head up to Widgee for a day of caching and a night of camping in 5 hollow-star luxury.

Heading off from Brisbane at 6.30am this was the first stop on our journey. Unfortunately my Spiderman pyjamas were at home being washed. Luckily I was packing a useful tool I had intended on using at a CITO tomorrow and it came in vitally handy in retrieving this cache. Getting it back into position was not so easy and a walking pole was enlisted to assist in completing the task. TFTC

31-Dec-17
Time for another Bromance Road Trip. Somehow we managed to all get the leave pass from family duties to get away for some New Years Eve Caching. We might as well join up with the event at Widgee, and enoy some of that wonderful hospitality from those North of Brisbane.

This one was picked up on the way to the event. It was nice to reminsce about all thetrips we had made up and down this highway. Thanks for the cache. May have been signed as the Bromance for Swellerfungus, Seffnjarah and CrookedPete.

I certainly did not have a ladder, and my balance is not the best. Surprised

The GPSr could not decide which side to be on, and naturally I opted for the wrong one. With no luck I made the journey to the other side.

Not really that difficult and my balance could just cope with this. Big Grin

We had just bought a new car and thought we would give it a run up here finding this series. We loved that thought had been given to making sure that we had a proper place to pull of the road to look for these caches. We spotted this hide from across the road. We had come prepared with a ladder in the car but we didn't need it in the end. TNLNSL TFTC

Mr Just a Trifle was out for another day of caching with ViKoCZ to pick up a few target caches to help with various challenges Surprised The first cache for the day was Serenity on the Mountain, and depending on how it went, that would determine how many other caches would be found for the day Wink We were lucky for the rain to have had held off until after that cache was completed, but in reality, there were only just a few short sprinkles while we were driving down the highway Razz

Thank you Jones.gang for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Cool

Have been eyeing off The Old Bruce series since they were published a few months ago. Driving back to Townsville from Brisbane, I decided today was a great day to take a slight detour and try to locate these caches.

Log signed. Took nothing and left nothing. Cache container and log in great condition.

Finding this cache has now given me a total find count of 1557.

Thanks for the cache hide **Jones.gang**. Smile

Had to go back out into the sunshine to get a reading on the GPS, walked over and spotted it quite easily. Now for the difficult task of retrieving it - fortunately we always use hiking sticks (not that we do any hiking but they keep us upright) so were able to use them to get the cache and return it once we had signed the log. Deserves a favourite point for the fun it gave us. TFTC Jones.gang Smile
