Loving the camo on this one

05-Apr-21
Spotted the ugly as we were biking & clambered up to it. Started on the wrong side but worked my way towards it. Love the camo deserving of a fav point. Tftc

06-Mar-21
Spotted gz from a wee while off and zoned in, even though my gps said elsewhere. Cute four legged muggle appeared around the corner, so we had time to stop acting suspicious before its two legged muggle appeared. Thanks for these caches!

Great adventure out today with katbowersnz and child in tow. The mission was on!
This one the smallest of our crew found, nice and quickly and where we thought it might be. thanks!

#945 - Had the opportunity to go on a caching mission today with Taschynz.
Was in the likely spot but a little tricky to find, the 7yr old ending up finding this one. Great camo. TFTC.

08-Aug-20
Our quickest find in this series today but only because we had seen similar camo before. Very nicely done once again and such a perfect place for a cache. Thanks Macwatt.

17-May-20
Awsome!!! Another different find for the kids, trying to teach them and get them to look at things differently. Was a good lesson in types of cache for them. couldn’t sign the log as mum forgot the pen TYFTC

12-Jan-20
Loved this hide, had us head scratching as we scoured the area. While Little One and Mrs were hunting Mr, who was scouting a few meters away, soon had his hand in the air air signalling the find. We all finish today with a Macwatt find each. TFTc

02-Oct-19
Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching. This had me stuffed last walk through here. Maybe because when I was looking for it a dog had a leak all over it so I walked away.

15-Sep-19
Visiting Tauranga for the weekend. Headed out for another early morning ride to pick up some caches that I missed yesterday. Loved the bike ride and well concealed cache. TFTC

18-Aug-19

Out to try and put some DNF'd caches to bed and following the success on the last cache I strolled up to this one quite confidently. I was gobsmacked to put my hand on the cache within moments of arriving at GZ. Why hadn't I seen that last time??? Anyway, not to complain - Yah, another blue face turned yellow! TFTC

09-Jan-19
Continuing my bike ride along here, another awsome job on the camo, cheers

01-Jan-19
First cache for 2019 and I have to say that some may say ugly but I say beautiful.
There are so many possibilities for a cache here and this one didn't disappoint.
I signed the log as "FD" (not the full Flippaduck) as to save space on the log book.
I only have one more cache to do in
"This Valley" and it is the #1 of this series that I haven't found yet but am still keen to find it as well.
This one's another favorite for me as the cool construction and care of the environment around this cache location.

17-Oct-18
Replaced container and camo ...all good to go ...have fun

28-Apr-18
Climbed the area and almost slipped down reached out to grab something to hold onto and cut my hand open... The ever patient Bogan waited till I mopped up the blood.

28-Apr-18
We arrive at this one and spot the most likely place. Frogy one way Bogan the other. And got lucky. Another great camo job. Tftc

31-Dec-17
The tree has had a severe prune but the cache is still there.....I will keep a watch on proceedings and see what happens. Mean while happy caching

30-Dec-17
Big macrocarpa cut down so probably taken cache with it

13-Aug-17
First attempted this in 2016, which ended in an injury (getting cut in the back by a rogue sharp branch...) Came back today, on approach from the north we carefully monitored GPS and proceeded to search. This time the gorse took its toll.

After failing to find, went back over logs and discovered someone talking about making the find 10m away. So we broadened the search substantially... and came up with the (tiny) goods. At the GZ noticed my phone was unable to get very accurate (was +/- 10m)... so I think the overhead trees always mess things up. Another very clever craft here from Macwatt. Thanks.

A few things came together which meant I had an unexpected free day to go geocaching. The plan was to head up the coast starting a bit South from Pukehina and working my way up the coast before meeting up with Kiwis69 and 11HPG11 and focusing on a few caches around Tauranga. A fairly successful day was had with about 30 caches found, and only a couple of caches where we had to walk away from, so not really DNF's more like unable to search/extract. A big thanks to all the CO's of the caches which were found today.

This is where I meet up with K69 and 11HPG11. Logs signed from here on were as HK1.

Got lucky here as I found it in the first place I looked. It did help that it was replaced in such a way that the camo wasn't quite in full effect. Thanks for the well constructed hide.

23-Jul-17
In Papamoa/Tauranga today to collect some caches and boost some numbers. Teamed up with Kiwis69 and we had a wonderful coffee before a nice drive over the Kaimais. A great day to be out and about after all that rain, the sun was shining, not many muggles and some lovely company. Later on in the day we met up with HKCB who joined us for some finds. Signed logs as HK1 to save space.

I can relate to this cache name haha. Getting the hang of these hides now and finding this end a lot quicker than the other

23-Jul-17
Teamed up with 11hpg11 to find a few caches & grab a few solved puzzles, with HKCB joining us for part of the afternoon. Great company, really good caches & some lovely mid-winter sunshine made for a fab day out. Enjoyed our walk along here. Logs signed as HK1 to save space. Again, HKCB was onto this one fairly quickly, another great Macwatt cache, TFTC

24-Apr-17
Another good hide with good hint TFTC

25-Mar-17
Heading along the Westridge track this afternoon in the humidity and showers, we stopped by this landmark and soon located the cache. Well hidden with a clever camo. I now know what ^ means in your hints Smile

Cache is in good condition, TFTC.

25-Mar-17
An organised bike ride with SplattyNZ, brought us out to this trail of caches which I had not attempted yet. While Splatty was on the phone I had a good look around where I thought the hint brought me, but failed to find anything.

Then I left it for Splatty to have a turn and he got it quickly. Turns out I misinterpreted the hint. Doh!

Thanks for another clever hide.

PS> My 1800th find.

16-Mar-17
The second of our four for tonight. I Mr nzkites didn't really get the hint but Mrs explained it to me. Another quick find of a sneaky hide. TFTC

24-Feb-17
Another good hide in this nice little series.

11-Feb-17
11am - The Squirrel and I had another cacher on board with us today and goal today was to collect as many caches in the Tauranga area as we could, including an event latter this afternoon. SLTFTC

Nice cache! Interesting spot, TFTC

29-Jan-17
Great weather for a geocaching bike ride on this anniversary weekend. Good clue led to an easy find here. Great camo. Cache is all good. TFTC

28-Jan-17
Very cool. Love the camo. Tftc

14-Jan-17
Found with the assistance of the 'hint' - great hide & excellent camo, well done Big Grin .

08-Jan-17
Carried out co ord check all is fine GPS 1 oregon 700 was 1 meter accuracy ....the phone GPS was 2.0 mts .977 and .405 so all fine here ......the cache is in the correct place....maybe a closer look at the hint may help and save some frustration lol

06-Jan-17
Did one circuit till I reread the hint carefully, another circuit and had it located, very clever tftc.

05-Jan-17
This one sure had us beat as we spent ages looking. As we didnt want to end on a DNF, we kept looking and literally checking every item before coming up trumps.
All i can say is the hint is misleading and needs to be changed. Also, the coordinates appeared to be 11m out for us. After reading all the logs on the page, we noted that we needed to extend our search area and finally we located the goods. Very glad to tick this one off! TFTC!

P.S. Thanks very much for placing this series. We had a great time finding your caches today. We appreciate all the effort you put into the camo and the well thought out placement for all of your hides. We look forward to finding more of your caches another time Big GrinBig Grin

A post Christmas adventure with the dog...

We were in the mood for a walk today, and the Westridge Cycle Trail looked like a fairly decent prospect. We drove into Cambridge Road Park and calculated the distance from the carpark to the furthest cache - a 1.4 kilometre walk in the heat of the afternoon...

We found all of the Westridge Trail caches; some quickly, others not so much. There are some smart hides in this collection... It took a while to sort out the red herrings and false leads. We were concentrating at one level. But a shift in focus lead to a good find. We liked this one... TFTC.

28-Dec-16
Nice hide. bit higher than expected. you don't have to go near the electric fence. although not live on the day.

27-Dec-16
Telling Ronnie to look down the hole and I had it in my hand all the time. Tftc

26-Dec-16
2644 A well constructed cache. Eventually located it. Cache all good. Thanks.

24-Dec-16
Well. ...another sneaky little bugger! Great hide and it gets a favourite point TFTC

03-Dec-16
Thanks Jess ...You may want to recheck the hint Jess cheer's Macwatt

03-Dec-16
Wow mackwatt you sure know how to hide a cache. You may want to change your hint.. but a great hide thanks. Its a nice hot day.

06-Nov-16
Heading over this way for the GIFF Event at Papamoa so of course a couple of stops along the way seemed appropriate to meet the needs of that bloody DGSc Challenge that I am finally getting closer to having completed.
Parked at the appropriate location and then walked in while leaving Mrs Dragon to mind the car. NIce walk in and once at the cache it took only a moment to locate.
Great placement and thanks for the cache

26-Oct-16
Quick find, although I nearly missed the fact that I already had the cache in my hand. Great camoflague. I haven't seen this kind of container before. Also a great excuse to search out this neat little cycle track. Pity about the traffic noise though. TFTC.

17-Oct-16
After running here from last cache I was puffed so had to catch my breathe before starting the search. Didn't take me to long and No bark was displaced by me in this search must be getting use to your hides Mcwatt. Another well camouflaged cache another FP
TFTC

16-Oct-16
Out with mum and the dog. Enjoying the walk. Some cows nearby followed us along the fenceline as far as their paddock allowed. No bark was destroyed in our search. TFTC

16-Oct-16
148 Parked up on Westridge and walked in. Have seen parts of this trail from the toll road and keen to walk it so youngest son, geodog and I set about to find some caches along the way. Found this one nice and quickly, despite not finding an apparently easier one in the same series. This was a clever wee hide managed to spot it because of the angle I was standing. TFTC Macwatt enjoying this walk shame about the traffic noise though.

11-Oct-16
After being here just the other day I knew I'd be able to park at the gate of the last cache just off the highway which put this cache within 200m yay. We arrived at GZ and all started the search. It took far longer then it should have and I don't believe it'll be to long before this tree is completely stripped of bark Smile A neat little cache though that didn't take much poking and prodding. Cheers Macwatt TFTC

Moved onto this one after getting frustrated at previous cache. Depends on your version of ugly to me they are all beautiful and yes definitely strong. I actually had bit of trouble here and mainly because I read the hint. SmileSmile Rang the CO who said I didn't have my glasses on and read it wrong but checking now I was right. SmileSmile Moved back to GL and rose a bit and had the cache in hand - again another well crafted cache - the time and effort you put into these caches is appreciated. 26-Sep-16
I laid hands on it straight away but didn't realise it until I went back and looked a second time at what I had in my hand. Thanks for the cache. Great hide

15-Sep-16
Ugly all right - the weather that is. I had nothing to do with some of these hides so went to find them. This was cleverly camoed and certainly fitted in with it's host. Thanks for the placement Macwatt
