Coincidentally, having just met the last loggers in Toka'anu, I was bemused/amused to come here and also report a DNF. I was worried I was a bit short, but having met the couple that make up civvnr, I know they have adequate height to have a good rummage at GZ! Definitely missing!

15-Jan-24
Solved this puzzle back home in the UK in preparation for today's visit, so was disappointed to arrive at GZ and find the cupboard was bare. Thanks for the hunt. T4tHunt NZAdventure2016,Civvnr&MissTreadlightly....(UK) Geocaching.com finds so far 11374

29-Sep-23
Easy fun puzzle and a quick find. TFTC!!

20-May-23
Back in Turangi after my Taupo excursion. A rather gloomy overcast afternoon. Wasn't going to let that stop me though. Had to dig deep here. TFTC

16-Apr-23
I had tried to solve this a couple of times and each time I misread the description. Slowing down a little I was able to refocus and get the right coordinates. Nice and close to home and nice to remove a blue question mark off my map. Thanks for the cache

10-Jan-23
Knowing I'd be in Turangi today I had solved this puzzle, so as it turned out to be an easy find while heading out for a bike ride around the area, TFTC

12-Dec-22
A Puzzle I could actually work out. Log paper is damp and fragile. Pleased to have found this as it keeps our streak going. Day 67 Thanks for the cache.

06-Nov-22
X marks the spot

08-Jul-22
Nicely solved and found!

08-Jul-22
Nice find In the rain with a wee trick that had us guessing

23-Jun-22
Solved this as soon as I knew I would be in Turangi for a couple of days. I'm on my way home now and although it isn't my anniversary it is Daddypig's birthday, and Turangi is the place where I found my first geocaches (with Maplerose).
A quick and easy find on this very cold morning.

11-Apr-22
#1928. Day 3 in Turangi for a well deserved post-Covid break with GB Leader. Last time we stayed there, 6 years ago, I was a brand new geocacher. Seems like yesterday!

Today we drove to Mt Ruapehu and enjoyed our first ride on the Sky Waka. So quiet! Great views. No caches in easy reach up there, but we picked up 7 caches from the Top of the Bruce down to SH47.

Then back to Turangi, and having solved this puzzle on 3/2/22, decided to grab it. Ridiculously easy find. But, oh dear, the log is unwritable. Put in a new one for you.

Tftc NZAdventure2016.

02-Apr-22
I see H has been to work and this one is ready to be turned into a smilie. The cache itself needs some new paper as the current paper is boarderline to soggy to log. Nice afternoon stroll, thanks.

05-Mar-22
Another quick find on the drive home. Sorry didn't have any paper with me to replace the log with. Nice and water logged!!!

23-Feb-22
#974 stayed in Turangi for the night and decided to give this one a go. The puzzle was solved fairly quickly, with some adjustments. Log wet. TFTC

30-Jan-22
Solved this one a while back. All quiet at GZ today but as previous I logs have said log is too wet to sign TFTC

18-Dec-21
Stayed in Turangi for the night on our way south. Spent the morning picking up some solved caches. GZ was very quiet when the geohound and I visited. The cache was a quick find, however, the log was wet and unable to be signed (see photo). Thanks for the puzzle and smiley.

Having solved this cache sometime ago, we found ourselves in the area after a CITO and decided that we would collect a couple of caches. This was a nice quick find. TFTC

25-Oct-21
Malinkaly made a quick find for this one and we did some CITO in the area around GZ. Solved easily enough prior to coming n out roadtrip.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, NZAdventure2016

I had fun solving this quick puzzle last night. A sneaky drive by later and I held the cache in my hands. Log is wet and should be replaced when possible. A zip lock bag around it wouldn't hurt either I think. Smile

*** Out on our MEGA Roadtrip with Wilbywarrior. Who says this can only happen when the MEGA is actually held?! Greetings from Dunedin, caching friends Smile

A nice quick find thanks. First for the day.

Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather most of today, well not wet and not windy! We were based around Turangi and mixed up the day with a bit af walking, biking and driving.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

21-Oct-21
With KR. Our wedding anniversary would be transportation?! As it was in July and we went to Wellington from Christchurch, I guess it worked out. So did the cache. Thanks.

12-Jul-21
On the way North and a solved puzzle cache, of course it's a target! All good and soon had my name added to the log.

Left Taihape later than I'd hoped thanks to a certain thing taking Extra time and I paid the penalty with a reduced itinerary. Caching still happened though.

The weekend is here and for a change I've got a four-dayer planned with a trip across from Taupo to Napier to have a couple of nights in Havelock North and local area, followed by a trip back across the Napier-Taihape Road to stay at our daughters for a day before watching the football on Monday and then Coming Home, he's coming home, capperz is coming home (football didn't as it turned out! Well done to Italy.
A few nice caches found, not huge numbers so quality rather than quantity. A few more of the PWGT caches as well as some others here and there, thanks to all COs.

24-May-21
Having DNF'd this last year there doesn't seem to have been any activity form the CO, so called by today to sign the temporary log that had been placed. As expected, it was pretty damp - but at least it was still there so I guess that counts as a find. TFTC.

27-Apr-21
Solved this mystery before heading south. Thanks to the previous cacher for putting a piece of paper in it. Unfortunately I don’t believe it will last too long as water has already damaged this new log. TFTC Smile

19-Apr-21
Did with Crystal Fairy.

18-Apr-21
Fourth cache of the trip north with Mycro Man and Ezratar. Solved the puzzle a while ago (working through all puzzles in the North Island). Found the container but absolutely nothing inside it. Left a sheet with our name on. Suggest owner check up on the cache. Thanks for the cache anyways. Lovely spot. Used to stay near here on trips to Rupehu a few years back..

06-Oct-20
This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

04-Oct-20
On my way back to Wellington after visiting Tauranga for the weekend and did a lap of Turangi to collect a few caches. Sadly there were more DNFs than Founds, but that's how it goes. Had this one solved before I left home, and arrived at a spot that looked perfect. Spent as long as needed to check and recheck the hide possibilities and found nothing. Once I was home I rechecked my calculations just to make sure I had the final location right, and I'm pretty sure I did. This one might need a check by the CO.

27-Aug-20
Empty container

13-Jul-20
Found the cache but nothing inside.

12-Jun-20
First geocache found with my sister while visiting my home town. She is downloading the app now hehehe

19-Jan-20
Awesome, the maths worked out. Solved this one ages ago and glad to finally get my hands on it. Cheers

A nice pleasant evening walk. Twi guys with two k8ds were riding mini 4 wheelers and they left just as I got close to gz so i got it TFTC.

31-Dec-19
Awesome puzzle. Easy find. Tftc

17-Dec-19
I liked this idea for a puzzle. I hadn't done any caching in Turangi for a few years so it was good to make a quick find here.

26-Jul-19
Heading through to Taupo stopped for this easy hide

04-Jun-19
Nice and quiet today. Happy Anniversary on the next anniversary!

31-May-19
Easy drive by. Tftc

05-May-19
Nothing wrong with a nice solvable puzzle and knowing we were going to Taupo I cast the net a bit further afield and solved this one on the off-chance. In the end we did come down here particularly to see the nearby letterbox hybrid cache in Turangi.

Got to GZ and found the cache - bit wet here but it has one of the plastic style logs so no drama signing in here. Replaced as found. Thanks for the cache.

Lovely park on a beautiful autumn morning.
Camped at RSA last night, on the road today.

I had done the puzzle before we arrived in Turangi and having done the Mosaic trails we soon arrived at GZ and had the cache in hand stamped and returned. TFTC

A quick stop for lunch while driving between Rotorua and Palmerston North. No problems locating the cache today. Thanks for the cache

Cache number 3747

31-Dec-18
Find number 4628. Spending a couple of day in Turangi trying to clear some caches. This one was a nice solve so thought I had better collect. Park was busy but not near where I was. Able to grab and return easily. Thank you for the placement.

28-Dec-18
On our 30th day in New Zealand we stayed around beautiful Lake Taupo. We did again some walks and were looking for some caches. Very interesting for us was also the busy happenings at the boat ramp, how quick it goes to put a boat into the water and take it out again. We sat there for quite a while just watching. We also visited some very interesting hot pools. And we looked of course again for some caches. We solved this puzzle back home and here it was a short stop and quick find.
TFTC and greetings from Switzerland

Unser Hochzeitstag ist der 1.9.1995. Diesel Rätsel wurde bereits zu Hause in der Schweiz gelöst. Nach so vielen Ehejahren hat man Zeit dafür... Das Finale hatten wir rasch geloggt. TFTC

21-Sep-18
We solved this puzzle at the Mega two years ago, but the cache was missing so we were unable to log a find. Finally we came back today and made a quick find. Nice to sign off this one at last. Thanks for the puzzle and cache!

Found this cache together with my family (Sibuk and Finn). For details see the log of Sibuk.

Thanks for the cache, Lupid

17-Jan-18
During our wonderful vacation in New Zealand Lupid, me, and our little geocaching apprentice managed to find some caches.

As we stayed a few days in Turangi I had a look at this mystery. I was a little astonished when I computed the coordinates, but today we checked and found the cache there without any problems Smile

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Germany, Sibuk

13-Jan-18
Find 8 of 15 on a super day of caching on the Alpine Crossing and then around Turangi.

Quick solve while taking a break between hiking and getting back out there. Made sense to start here with our around town caches. Quick find, all good.

TFTC NZAdventure2016!

10-Jan-18
Thank you for the cache! My son and I found it easily using the coordinates, log a little wet. Happy holidays.

02-Jan-18
First day of a road trip to Dunedin. Solved this a couple of weeks ago in preparation. Stopped for lunch in Turangi as Taupo was crazy. Hot walk and a quick find due to good co-ordinates. TFTC.

Thanks for a simple puzzle we could solve ahead of our NZ holiday, knowing we should have an opportunity to come and find it over our Christmas stay in Turangi. A quick find on a walk from the campsite today. SL. TFTC.

@ 11.15

Gcimpi solved this for me at home in Switzerland during I'm travelling through NZD. Thanks mate

Today I had to stop in Turangi because I had to prebook at the i-site. So I did this detour to grap this box.

Thanks for the cache says

New Zealand ... a dream for every traveling [8)]
A little more than 20 years ago I've been here, but since then much has changed Red Face and that's also good! Now I'm back here ... 1 week North Island and 2 weeks South Island ... cool [^] Of course, I want to visit a few caches. Especially dissolved puzzle caches, which I find particularly attractive Red Face Best thanks to all the owners !! Greetings from the Swiss "Kiwi" Wink

Schneller found... cool!
Das Rätsel war schnell "geknackt"...easy [^]

Besten Dank für den Mystery.

Nice quick puzzle & find. Happy anniversary & TFTC

28-Apr-17
out with Red Roaming as we continue our trip around New Zealand. RR managed to solve this one as we staying nearby. It was quickly found at GZ, still in a pool of water!! TFTC and the puzzle

28-Apr-17
Cache found easily swimming in its nest, but the waterproof log is coping! The cache icon was very close to our excellent BBH Hostel so it would be good to find it, but there was the solving element first! I'm not too good at solving puzzles but even I could see how to do it, but the website I found produced coords over a mile away (often the way when I attempt to solve!) so DD had another look and came up with far better coords, just one digit different! Many thanks

NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

First of a trio of finds for the afternoon with encouragement from a cache-mate that this would be easier than it appeared. He was not wrong about the location but the condition of GZ appears to be as it was at the time of last year's mega event here in Turangi. The cache was sitting in a pool of what I hope was just water. Last October, the observation was that it was possibly beer either straight from the bottle or biologically processed so I wasn't taking chances today.
Not only was the container wet, its contents were too. However, as the log is waterproof plastic paper, all I had to do was dry it enough to write on which I duly did and returned the cache to a spot that will hopefully remain just above the high tide mark. TFTC.

05-Feb-17
Day 5 of our visit to New Zealand. After yesterday's Alpine Crossing, we're moving a little more slowly this morning. Top tasks are laundry and finding a cache. Solved this puzzle at home in California last week and found it today. A bit wet inside but the log is in good shape.

TFTC!

07-Jan-17
Easy puzzle, but were it would be was filled with water, felt around but nothing there

29-Nov-16
The puzzle was easy but at the cache the most likely spot was filled with water and no cache was there to be found.

24-Oct-16
Apologies for time tiaken to log, had problems with the laptop that has GSAK not connecting to internet. (Windows 10 problem now sorted... for the time being)

In the area for the NZ Geocaching Adventure MEGA.
Had a great weekend exploring the area and finding caches.
First couple of days I thought I was going to be so busy finding the caches at Whakapupa, that i wasn't going to get time to find the nearest to camp in and around Turangi.
However managed to get an hour to nip out and explore the town. TFTC

24-Oct-16
Day 8 of our Mega Roadtrip. We were present for this puzzle solving session but was in no hurry to jump up straight away. We casually grabbed this after the Adventurefest event this morning. Surprisingly the large group of geocachers nearby paid us no attention [?] Thanks for the smilie Smile

24-Oct-16
We were at the puzzle solving seminar but didn't take the time to sit down and solve this one until later in the weekend. We called in to GZ on our way home after the Mega finished, but felt very conspicuous to anyone who might have been watching from the nearby houses. Despite having a good search through mucky water and wet leaves we're sorry to say we didn't locate the cache. Now we are kicking ourselves for not getting onto it sooner. We wouldn't be surprised if it's been muggled as reading previous logs shows there's been a huge amount of activity at GZ over the last few days which has drawn the neighbours attention more than once. SadSadSad
Anyway, thanks for the puzzle Cully and we enjoyed your sessions at the Mega!

24-Oct-16
We had been at the puzzle solving seminar on saturday when this puzzle was discussed. We solved it quickly enough but did not rush out to make the find.
This morning we had some time before an event, so called by to sign the paperwork. Thanks.

24-Oct-16
In town for the MEGA, and after breakfast and packing up this morning, we headed here to this park for the event.
After listening to the presentation, it was a quick stop to pick up this cache.
Cool idea for a puzzle.... I'm quite interested in anniversaries too, being reasonably newly married.... and I believe that Mr NewlynFam and I may have had some discussions on this topic, too!!!
TFTC!

Solved this one over breakfast and after the Adventurefest event, we went and made the find. A nice straightforward puzzle and a nice quick find at GZ, TFTPC! Big Grin

Last day of the Mega weekend and the nearby event cache was a perfect opportunity to grab this cache before we headed out of town. Nice simple puzzle as we had some pointers from the talk by Cully, thanks

Worked out the puzzle after the puzzle workshop. I must have missed some of your advice, but I found it anyway Smile TFTC

#2977. The last day of the mega event in Turangi. Its been a lot of fun but like all good things it has to come to an end. I had uploaded the last of the lab caches this morning and did a quick solve of this puzzle. So after breakfast I headed around here to find the cache. What a surprise to see it was placed at a spot we have stopped at numerous times for a picnic lunch when driving south and getting food from the nearby Turangi bakery. I also managed to muggle vamber signing the logbook as I pulled up here. The cache was quickly in hand although there is a pool of water in the nest at present. Signed the log book and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the puzzle.

I'm down in Turangi for the Mega Event this long weekend. I didn't get many caching opportunities due to commitments at the event, but after the conclusion of the event I got out this afternoon to do some caching around Turangi. A straightforward puzzle and quick cache find at GZ - although where the cache resides is fairly wet. TFTC!

In town for the 2016 Mega. Most logs done as "Team Seac" or as Uncle Sam.

Sorry for the generic cut and paste logs. But thank you for taking the time to place this cache.

I really enjoyed Cully Long's talk on puzzle caches at the Turangi weekend event. I had to get his new puzzle caches released for the event. I feel ready to take on puzzle caches now - and I was lucky enough to get the last book he had left and he signed it for me. Found with Jaeh68. TFTC.

We had quickly solved this puzzle the night before, as it seemed a shame to leave Mega HQ without having picked up these hides! No problems with the puzzle and hide. Thanks for the cache! Smile

I solved the puzzle the evening before and then had some time to kill before the Adventurefest Event, so what to do? What to do? TFTC.

Just stepped out of the event crowd to sing the log. Well, this mystery is easy as it is but if the posted coordinates will not be changed at all then this needs to be a D1 Big Grin

The time at the mega is over, and it is time to head north making my way towards the Bay of Plenty where I haven't been before as I don't have to fly home until next Saturday from Auckland. Made it to about 20 minutes south of Rotorua today caching along the way.

Found this while attending the event this morning, after some helpful pointers from others at the venue. Thanks NZAdventure2016.

Mum showed me how this particular puzzle worked & we looked up the information together & put the co-ordinates together. We collected this one when we went to the event
