Logs
We continued today our tour of Queensland and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to benbenvarey for the generation of this nice cache Udders Below (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. On the edge of internet connection, but we were still able to find it, thanks!
Quick park and grab here. Easy to access. Container needs replacing, but seems to be keeping log safe and dry for now. *The generic bit for this trip*We are on our way north for warmer weather. From Victoria to Cooktown, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
I am in Roma to visit my sister for the week-end and to do some geocaching together. We started our (very early) morning up at Carnarvon Duffer and then headed South to Roma finding caches along the way ... and hiding 1 or 2 as well. This cache is in a poor state and desperately needs a new container. It is NOT a large anyway. It looks like the CO no longer plays the game. A small systema is what is needed. Thanks for the cache.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT. TFTC. Nice to find this one today as it had been washed away last time.Container is quite brittle.
I love squeezing every last second out of public holidays which usually combine with RDO's at work. So, with a 4 day long weekend in the offing , a few weeks ago I reviewed my adventure wish list and decided that a solo hike Carnarvon Gorge and specifically Battleship Spur would fit the bill.Viko Cz subsequently messaged me to say he was back in Australia for business for a few weeks and had some weekends free for a geocaching adventure, and was also keen to visit Carnarvon. Today, after a late-ish start (too late for the 4.30 am dawn service anyway), we set about cleaning up the balance of the local Roma caches, before grabbing some breakfast and heading north to Carnarvon. This seemed like a good spot to stop, stretch the legs and grab a cache. There were lots of galahs carrying on in the nearby trees. A nice quick find here. Many thanksbenbenvareyLest we forget.#7,851
#5704 [08:47] long weekend ahead, lucky coincidence allowed me to join crookedpete to his carnarvon trip. day two - couple of caches found between roma and our main destination, including this one. thanks for that, it's always nice to stop, stretch legs and claim smiley
33,558. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 28. Today was a pretty long day. Firstly we did our best to clean out Emerald, then we visited Lake Maraboon, then continued south picking up caches (including the marvellous golden oldie Minerva) until we arrived into Roma. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as F65 and A33 as required. Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!
Found the origional cache and the throwdown left by previous cacher, removed same and put cache back to coincide with the hint also put log in plastic bag. Slowly working our way to Dalby after attending Qogm 2023 for cmca National rally. Did your Udders Below today. 28 September 2023 2:18 pm Tyfc benbenvarey total caches now 6666 .
On our way to Longreach for QOGM 2023. Stopped and found this cache. Signed log. TFTC
Hint and container size don't make sense. Otherwise a Quick find with SJG66 as we head North in search of caches and warmer weather. TFTC
The waterproof container unfortunately did it's job too well; it kept the water INSIDE. Emptied the water out and tried to write in the log but was only able to leave an impression. Didn't have time to dry everything out so left the container propped up on its side, lid back on, but hopefully will drain somewhat. TFTC
This extended/long weekend across Anzac Day, it was an outback adventure to Charleville and Carnarvon Gorge. Departing Thursday afternoon, I stopped in Roma before continuing west through Mitchell and Morven and completing various puzzles and power trails. I then caught up with a small group to hike Carnarvon Gorge on Sunday and Monday, and then after having a final night in Roma, returned on Monday.
Today, after spending the night in Carnarvon Gorge at Big Bend, we were up early to walk up to Battleship Spur, and then hiked out to arrive back at our cars just after 13:00 hr. Boowinda Gorge was a definite highlight as we walked and ascended. It was then a short stop at Rock Pool to dip our feet, before driving north to Roma for the night.
After visiting this location back on 22/12/2022 and assisting with this geocache replacement, I was puzzled to see it with a recent DNF. It certainly seemed missing, so I thought I'd do the CO once again a favour and return back, whilst highlighting to the rest of the group of my intention.
I arrived to find Davinells and karicka searching around, and I was just about to mention that we should place the cache a little away from the grid, I spotted the container on the ground a short distance away. Sure enough, it was my replacement container, but strangely, the logbook was missing. I suspect the cache hide may be compromised, so we placed the cache about 13 m away under a small cluster of trees, with coordinates at S 26° 16.710' E 148° 44.038'. The cache is a small sistema container with logbook once again. Thanks benbenvarey - let's hope it lasts this time!

On the way back from Carnarvon Gorge, Peppa, Davinells, Karicka, Davidwazza, and I stopped here for a look. We spotted the container 20-30m away without a log. We added a log and hid it in a nearby clump of trees. Thanks for the fun benbenvarey
After overnighting in Carnarvon for two nights the entire group is heading back to Roma…
There was some confusion over whether the container was here or not… The latest replacement was spotted some distance away… empty, but definitely the latest replacement…
A new log book was added and it was left at the base of a small group of trees to the left of the cattle grid…
Thanks benbenvarey

After an overnight hike in Carnarvon gorge with Peppa, Beardman75, karicka and Davidwazza we pulled in here to have a look for this cache.
While searching amongst the cattle grid we noticed the replacement cache over in the dirt. The cache was empty so added a new log and placed the cache in a small clump of trees south-east of the cattle grid.

No cache there anymore. Checked against the photo plus everywhere else including down stream in the gully.
After reading all the DNFs I thought we could skip this one but geohusband said let’s look anyway. Definitely not there or accessible to GZ with a barbed fence. Don’t waste your time.
Sadly I can not get to the area right now to check the cache and people have not found it recently :/
Sadly no luck for us today. Will have to try again next time.

It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips. After an amazing drive up Canberra - Narromine - Cunnamulla - Blackall - Winton - Charters Towers - Townsville. We had a blast at the main event. Now it is time for the trip home - with the plan being chances to explore Bowen, Rockhampton, Emerald, Roma, Lightning Ridge and Dubbo. Will see if the April rains and flooding detour us! Thanks to everyone in the region for the top quality caching. Appreciate your efforts.

I was heading north from Roma and decided to stop off to find this cache. I searched and searched without luck. When I had phone service again, I made a PAF. It was confirmed that I was looking in the right place. As this is a D1 cache, I think a CO check is needed here.
Had a good look where I believe it should’ve been, couldn’t see it. May have been buried. Will look again next time I go pass.
Stopping in Roma for a couple of nights and decided to clear up a few caches in the area. Coords were spot on for me and a lovely big cache made for an easy find. TFTC benbenvarey
It's been a while since we've seen a large cache so we just HAD to stop for this one enroute to QOGM. TFTC
A short walk from where we parked and then a straight forward find. We think this is the biggest cache we have found since we left home in April. Great work.
On the road again today, continuing the long drive back to our home in Gippsland, we’ll over 1500 kms from here. A free over night stop at the Virgin Rocks and then this morning we are back on the road, heading to Roma. Very pleased to be able to stop and grab a few caches on our way. We appreciate the efforts of all the local CO’s in placing and mai tai ing theses caches. A sterling effort, especially for those that are so far from any towns. Thank you, without your efforts we would have nothing to find.

A long road trip to Emerald from Brisbane for 2 little turmoils, but they did really well. We were here for the geoart and anything else that we found along the way from Brisbane to Gladstone to Emerald, to Chinchilla and home. This was day 7 of lengthy days caching and driving. This cache was found on our trip from Emerald to Roma. Very large. Largest we have seen. Took the Mustang Car trackable that I know was put here by Mallln. About 5 mins after we left, he messaged me to ask if the trackable was still in the cache. I said, "Not now!" and sent a photo of a happy little boy in the back seat.
Day 2 of our western trip to catch up with some maintenance in Barcaldine and plant caches in Cunnamulla before the planned QOGM in September. With the delay in escaping from Brisbane.
On the road again after a refreshing night in Roma.
1st one for the day. Great to pick up a large cache to make a nice quick find.

# 2353 - Travelling from Brissie to probably Cooktown and back we try to pick up a few caches.
Oh, I do love huge containers! I retrieved it while under scrutiny of the cows, but they were happy I put it back in place!
I discovered the trackable, but left it there for others to take it. Most containers are so small nowadays...

Wow - that was a biggie!. Traceable is still there. The horse was following us up the road, he’s beautiful TFTC
At long last we have been able to come back to Roma and get out on the road to Emerald gathering the caches along the way. The last time we were here the roads were all closed. TFTC
Quick find late this afternoon travelling from Charters Towers to Miles. Always good to see a large cache, thanks benbenvarey.
This was a nice spot to stop on the way to Carnarvon Gorge. No one about, so a quick find. Considering the size of the thing, it would be kinda hard to miss it. .
This is a great cache! A large container, no prickles, a horse came to say hello - we signed the log book and continued on our way to Carnarvon Gorge. TFTC
Found with my Muggle Mum who was lucky to make her fist find. She is getting used to these geocaching adventures I take her on. We are happy little vegemites! TFTC Have a happy new year!!!

Christmas Trip 2020 was a blast! 2 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs towing a camper trailer visiting lots of places in the Queensland Outback. Started Cooroy, staying in Dalby, Nindigully Pub, Charlotte Plains Station, Charleville, Roma, Emerald, Rockhampton and then Yandaran for Christmas before heading home. 4600 kilometers in two and a half weeks with lots of caches in between (well as many as I was allowed to).
All caches were found with ease and in good condition unless stated otherwise, thank you to all the cache owners for placing these caches, especially the ones in remote areas that were great to stop, stretch the legs, and get another smiley.
Thanks for the cache **benbenvarey**

Driving from Roma to Carnarvon Gorge for the second day of our road trip! This was our first cache of the day ️ Thanks for placing.
I am one step closer with a large container challenge. Thanks for this one. All is good here
Phone died and we tried to remember to turn left. Spent ages in the road but when we found the right road it was easy. Took a geocoin and left a trackable.
5 years ago today we found one like this in Texas - called a Texas Nano! What a great fun cache and a good excuse to break up our drive.
I was milking as many cache finds as I could from the local herd today
This stop produced udder amazement.

This one of the coolest Geocache’s we’ve found! A good one for children. Did a swap.
Heading West to escape some of the COVID craziness going on in Brisbane at the moment. An early start was made to fit in a long day of driving to Emerald via Roma, with plenty of caching along the way. Nice big safe container. Took the 2 TBs and dropped 2 geocoins

What a lovely huge cache container and it contains fantastic swag, thank you for a wonderful cache with plenty of turn around for our geovehicle. Every thing is good with the cache. We left 2 x TB's and T 1 x TB's.
Found today on my Vic to Townsville in 3 days bolt. I was a bit ahead of schedule with my overnight arranged for Injune, so I had enough time to make the slight diversion and grab this one.
Great to see a large cache
Left a few plastic surfers and a lego IRB, a long way from the nearest surf beach

The Rats and mini rats have just returned from an amazing 6-week adventure to Cape York. Along the way we had time to stop and grab a big handful of caches, some of our finds were in the remotest parts of Australia. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing your cache, you've all contributed to us having a great holiday. Apologises for the generic log.
