An interesting location that gets you thinking of when this was in use. Cache was a nice straightforward find which is always good. Down the hill folk were on horses in the yards, cows and horses. After staying in Dululu overnight, we discussed options on directions, always so many choices, but the one was made to head towards Rockhampton via an earthcache and down the Bruce. Other options had more appeal, but left for a time when there was more of it. Listening to the radio that the section of road between Rockhampton and Gladstone was the most notorious for fatalities as we drove had us revaluation our option. Not from the report so much, but from the many near misses we saw while on it. Gladstone was a new discovery for me, having never visited. Big ships and tugboats, but a lovely day exporing about through caching.1770, with a name like that was a destination. Arriving very late afternoon with just enough light to see the pretty area, very popular and busy, but can see why. Black sands on the beach, a sunset and an AL to show us around. A short but nice visit then off till a cache stop found a good site to set ip camp overnight on the way to Bundaberg. Thanks for your cache that guided us about.
Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Next up to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Started the day at Dululu and then headed to Westwood for an Earth cache. Back to Rockhampton and then onwards to Gladstone. Finally out to 1770 for the EC and Ad Lab.A nice quick stop by.
Loved it, thank you.Got swooped a couple of times from the black and white aerial assault brigade.
Found by Mary and David at 13:20. A FP from Mary even before she got out of the GeoPrado. She loves cemeteries for the carved symbolism of the headstone designs and the stories in the epitaphs. Didn't have enough time to explore as she would have liked. Noticed a few unmarked graves, some vandalism, but many ornate wrought iron fences. Our thanks to Rainforest Cookie.
Attended QOGM and now heading east then south to Tweed Heads. Thanks to the COs for the placement of these cachers and showing us around the variety of regions.
While staying at Mt Hay we ventured out to find some local caches TFT C
Today while staying at Mt Hay Gemstone park we decided to pick up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Enjoyed exploring the area, cache and contents were in good condition and an interesting place to visit, the day was dry so no 4x4 needed.
Many thanks for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

It was raining. 30 m in the last track and 5WD needed to be engaged. I decided revese was the best option today.
A day of rambling around the countryside, maybe Gladstone and some ice cream is on the cards
Take 2.
Today is a lot drier than last time. The first gate is open saving a little time.
I jump out and let Buttons thro the next gate and we can see the cemetery ahead.
Does’t take long to find the cache and as I search for a spare spot come across our friends sig (MeAndDe)
Buttons takes a wander thro the plots and we’re off again.

We turned back just before getting to the cemetery gate. Black soil ahead and by the tracks left already we aren’t too interested in getting bogged. Maybe another day when it’s a bit drier.
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 115. Rockhampton Day 1. I headed south and west to reach a few caches today. I had my most effective time around Gracemere. I then visited the southern suburbs of Rockhampton, with a fun walk around the Botanic Gardens. I had to venture over the river for the last for the day to reach the number I was hoping for.
The access to this cache confused the tomtom, but following the signs in the end took me there. No cows to pester me and a nice cache to be found next to these resting pioneers.
Thanks for the cache Rainforest Cookie

TFTC. A short detour before we get to our overnight in Rockhampton. Travelling g back to Maryborough after the Townsville Mega. No issues with gates or finding the hide.
This was an interesting one to get to, but I really enjoyed visiting. Krcamber and I worked the gates together and now we are pros.
Thanks for the cache, Rainforest Cookie

On the way to Emerald with Swearah so we had to stop here on the way. With cows looking oddly at us, we made our way towards GZ. What a fantastic old resting place. Cache quickly located. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC!
What a quiet spot. We would have loved to see the bulbs in flower. I think they are rain lilies.

Creepy creepy creepy. Easy find. Watch out for cow poop. Bonus points if you figure out how to unhook the gate. Interesting that it stems back to the 1800s. K&K
On a GC roadtrip with Drennostar, Suzi1972 & her muggle husband.
Didnt expect to find such a well maintained cemetery out here. Thanks for bringing us out!
Had to ask Drennostar to retrieve the cache for me thanks to a surprise friend hanging out underneath it when I tried!

Found it with pippahicup and suzzi1972. What an interesting history walk around.
Another great find ! , 6th for today , also great lesson about country gates for the kids
Grey nomads travelling around Australia in our caravan. Held up a bit due to Covid19 and major knee surgery, so currently in Queensland only, but there are plenty of caches in our home state that we have not yet found.
Currently, we are farm sitting near Rockhampton for three months, so hoping to clear out Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gracemere, Gladstone and Mt Morgan!
It is Boxing Day today, so we decided to head up to Mt Morgan, even though the two trads there are unobtainable to us, and I am not a fan of multis on hot days. Great day for caching.
Quick find by MrD, but he could not open it so I did! Beautiful countryside here. Thanks for the detour off the highway Rainforest Cookie. Fave point awarded

Christmas Trip 2020 was a blast! 2 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs towing a camper trailer visiting lots of places in the Queensland Outback. Started Cooroy, staying in Dalby, Nindigully Pub, Charlotte Plains Station, Charleville, Roma, Emerald, Rockhampton and then Yandaran for Christmas before heading home. 4600 kilometers in two and a half weeks with lots of caches in between (well as many as I was allowed to).
All caches were found with ease and in good condition unless stated otherwise, thank you to all the cache owners for placing these caches, especially the ones in remote areas that were great to stop, stretch the legs, and get another smiley.
I've trained the kiddos well, geokid hops out, opens the gate, i drive through, she shuts the gate and hops up on my lap. Drive up, find the cache, sign and replace, hops back up on my lap, drive back to the gate, she hops out, opens the gate, i drive through, she locks the gate and hops back up in her seat.
A great day out. Thanks!

We found it!! Went through a few gates and worried we weren't supposed to be there. The cows were none to impressed either. But we continued and located the cache... But no pen again!! We have to get better at this. It did lead to some interesting conversations with the kids. So thanks!!
Our first geo on our first family holiday...its the geo sons 9th birthday today so we're off on an adventure to try our luck with the gem fields and see a few things on the way...this cemetry is very old and such a quiet out of the way off the beaten track place. Nice quick find.
The biosecurity tag on the gate made me nervous, but I csme in anyway.... it was where i guessed it would be
Here was another excuse to escape the utter madness of the highway for a while
How many drivers and the unfortunate people they take with them,
die on this stretch of road each year ?? [:o]
I counted fifty odd sad little memorials scattered along the roadsides between Gracemere and Dingo !!
So it was fitting that here I was headed for a lonely little cemetery
Lonelier than most !!
There were two 'gates' to pass through.
Maybe this geocache should have an "In field puzzle" attribute ??
As both gates are classic bits of improvisation
I gave up on with the second gate !!
I just crawled under it and strolled to the cemetery
At least the cache was an easy find
Fave dance time for a great location [^]
Definitely not a quick drive by from the highway

Out and about with The Drovers picking up some caches and this was one of them.
A short detour off the main road and we were soon at GZ for a quick find.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

Continuing my zigzag journey to QOGM, I detoured to this cache. Although the road was dry, I can understand why the COO has recommended not to travel on it in wet weather! I parked the geomobile off the road and strolled to GZ. There, I wandered around a bit, reading the history here, before heading over to find the cache and the log. TFTC
Doing a big loop from Bris to Mackay and back on an epic 2000km 2-day solo roadtrip, because Geocaching . Day 2: another early start, heading South from Waverley Creek rest area reaching Rockhampton before heading inland in a big loop via Eidsvold and Gayndah before reaching Gympie then back home in Brisbane late in the arvo.

OMG how did you ever find this place RC? That was some wrong turn! I wasn't sure about going through the closed gate, but the lure of a cache was too great. I figured if you put a cache there, it must be OK to go in. T4T $
Gotcha !!! A quick trip to get a calendar filler for my second time around. Interesting piece of history. Visited TBs and GCs... TFTC
Finally found how to get to the location. Don't you love these out of the way places, it reminds me of Outback Queensland except it's not as hot, the grounds a different colour and the vegetation is different. Cache all good.
A great little out of the way place. Interesting history - always interesting checking out old cemeteries.
A very interesting location. Good to see this old graveyard so well maintained. TFTC
Right here, right now. All good. Very interesting that the slightly offset grave is on a very familiar name. My wifes second name and maiden name. Photos taken to pass on to my mother in law to see if its a possible distant relative.

Mrs RoddyC and I are on our way to Barcaldine for a week, in the company of youngoldfella. On the way there are a few caches left from our previous trip and also a few new ones.
Short detour backwards to our westwards journey found us at the really old timers cemetery. Nice one.
Log signed and replaced. Found at 3.15pm on 22nd July 2017. TFTC, Rainforest Cookie.

I have the company of Mrs RoddyC and Mr RoddyC today as we are on our way to Barcaldine for a week. On the way there are a few caches left from our previous trip and also a few new ones. Short detour to the East to gather this done in. I drove past the turn off and had to come back.
It didn't take Mrs RoddyC long to spot this one. No Wasps.

On our way home now after being at the Alice Springs event, did not want to miss the opportunity to get a few caches along the way. This was one we targetted and found. Some very nice creative hides. Thanks to Rainforest Cookie for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
6337Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1615. The road into the cemetery is a little overgrown. Followed the track, let ourselves through the gate and arrived to start the search. Looks like there hasn't been much activity here for some time. SL Tnx Rainforest Cookie
TFTC. Never knew this little cemetery was here.
When visiting, make sure you follow the road all the way to the gate where you can see the cemetery. We went through the first gate we saw and ended up driving through private property and got a visit from them owner. He was nice enough but mightn't be too happy if he starts getting lots of visitors.

Great spot driven pass hundreds of times and never knew this was here thanks for the cache
Out and about with hancockT today, loved this one, a fave from me. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face even after we got stuck waiting for a coal train at the crossing ( we live beside the line in case people think I'm being a princess about that) it's such a long time since I've been down a track like this and done gate duty. I miss it, tho it used to drive me nuts ( but there were ten gates one way to get to the "go line" for work - then gates all day, then ten gates home). Biggest gem at the Gz is the grave not in alignment with the others, the plaque on that one is very very interesting, but so are many others and thinking about the lives they represent. Thanks for placing this one, all is well here.
Very peaceful watching the sun rise here this morning. Driving in wasn't a problem, and the dirt road was quite good for the most part. A lot of history here, and definitely a place I would never have known existed without your cache.
