It was time to get the bikes out again today so onto the back of the car they went as we headed off to the Majura Cycleway. We found a place to park then headed off in the reverse direction. We didn't realize that it was slightly uphill a lot of the way until we turned for the return journey home. Still a good decision as the ride back was easy and even allowed us to divert for a few other caches. There was a variety of hides to keep us guessing, and a couple of quite challenging ones. We awarded a few well deserved favourites. That finished it was off to the CBR Geoart series. These were a bit easier going as there was good space to pull well off the road.Another big day!Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Big Dad 57.**SKI Pair****

Yay. Mega week has finally arrived. Didnt get much caching done at the hometown Adelaides Leap Year Mega. The minute it was announced I booked my single room. Then, muggle husband decided he wanted to come. Mmm. We all know that means .. less caching, so targets had to be sought. But at least theres a vehicle. This cache is a target. Mostly challenges and virtuals (to meet another challenge of course). Target due to closeness to the airport. Killing time after being dropped off 4 hours early for my flightGotta love a smiley face on the map. Thankyou for placing and maintaining it.

Since we both struggle looking in certain angles a young chap who was watching came over and searched where we couldn't, leaving us to search where we could, he was more excited than us when we found it. Canberra you may have a new cacher in your team. Tnln sl tftc

In Canberra to attend the Capital Geo Bash mega event. I attended the Queanbeyan Mega event a couple of years ago which is when I did a lot of the touristy things. This trip was more focused on Geocaches. There has been an abundance of new high quality caches published since my last visit so more than enough to keep me busy. Muggle free GZ so I could search in peace. It didnt take too long before I spotted the fake. Thank you Big Dad 57, for placing C G & S - Garuda for the geocaching community.# # SmileSmile #14446 SmileSmile # #

Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.

Solved the CBR set before coming for the Mega, great to be back in my old stomping ground. Spent so much time out here when living here but wasn't caching back than. Never seen the carport so empty, couldn't have picked a better day to come grab these caches as it's a ghost town. Bellahappychappy required a tool to get log out to sign but was soon signing and replaced as found.Out with bellahappychappy, grannysmith1947 and CyberGran V. Nice easy park and grab, signed as CM!

We heard about a Mega in Canberra a year ago. Having never been to the big capital, we booked our accommodation and the planning began.Which caches shall we do? Wow they really love their mystery caches in ACT! Ok, we need to get our thinking caps on and solve some of these puzzles pronto. There were many heads put together to solve some of these and many headaches created along the way.We have made the trek from Adelaide to be here and appreciate the efforts of all those involved to make the Capital Geobash happen. Nice cache container, first one ive seen like this.

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Big Dad 57! Big day of caching with WACrew. We ended up at the event after exhaustion had set in. It was tough jumping between GPS, cachly and about 10 different labs. Theres something to be said for having all lab stages within close proximity. Thanks for your contribution to making today an excellent day. Much appreciated.

Embarking on a week long mega adventure in the ACT and its picturesque surrounds, I've teamed up with an enthusiastic West Aussie crew: I C Nothing, Meme28, geotrakka, and Burns345, with the occasional cameo from neva2old. As we traversed territory, I was enthralled by the rich variety of caches this new hunting ground presented, turning each discovery into a memorable experience. Our group engaged in friendly competition at each stop to be the one to claim the find and shared countless laughs along the way.Together, we marked our triumphs in the logs as WA5, and on the rare occasion WA6.Catching up on some logs that I missed earlier today. Thanks Big Dad 57 for placing C G & S - Garuda for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at on 27/3/2024.This is find number 8320 for me.

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Headed out for a big day in Canberra! Thought we would slip into town along the Majura cycleway then hit up some labs and trails in town. Well that plan was foiled by a late start and then the terrain and difficulty of finding the caches in long grass. took the best part of 4 hours for us to complete the cycleway trail, replacing logs as best we could. Wet feet and shoes, did not make this a comfortable journey.Once completed we tackled a couple of caches near the airport shops before heading to catch the light rail back towards Canberra Park in time to jump into the geocruiser for the Snapper Feast event.TFTC Big Dad 57 Cool

I didnt find it, but didnt mark it as such because I wasnt sure where to look. It was a dark and rainy night, and the closest that the GPS went to settling was in the middle of a road. I had a search of the nearest likely structure, but didnt find anything. Ill try another time.

05-Aug-23
We joined forces with Alansee, maccamob, McLookers, micaparamedic, moonb1, Muzza, Pprass and Rabbito to try our luck at a few Adventure Labs and any thing else that was close by.We have just found project gc log compare which worked out that we had missed logging a lot of a day's caching in Canberra that we are now trying to cath up with very late logging.Being so long ago we have forgotten most of the individual hides so we are using a generic log for these caches, apologies as we don't normally do this. This isn't to take anything away from the caches, either puzzles or hideas we can defintely say that we enjoyed each one that we found. Many thanks to all the CO's for the effort in hiding these cacahes for our enjoyment.

Oh nice one!
I’ve seen some garudas sculptures while in Cambodia they are an amazing concept
This cache took me 5 mins
I did it during high muggle traffic time, but sometimes it’s good to pretend being an instagramer taking selfies while using the camera to investigate further. No one cared
Thanks for the hide

Day #1 of 2 (4/12)
I was in Murrumbateman for the weekend for a camp and so I decided that afterwards I would head into Canberra for the Sunday night. Yes, there is a geocaching event today but will I make it? (To find out please read the log I posted on GC8T9V9). I ended up doing some caching around Fyshwick and Queanbeyan. Which included a very interesting AL. A few giggles were had while doing it. However, for the bonus, I needed to return later because of the big group of muggles that wouldn’t leave. Soon it was time for dinner and I had Hungry Jack’s.
Day #2 of 2 (5/12)
After a great night sleep, it was time to leave the motel and find some caches. After some umming and arring, I finally decided on finding the caches around Majura Park. Most of which were wherigo’s. I then headed over to the Belconnen mall for some shopping and lunch. Once I was fed, I headed over to Kaleen to find the next AL stage of, ‘Oh When The Saints…’ plus a few nearby trads. Next I headed over to Hall so I could find my daily Multi-cache. From there it was time to fill up the car and head home. This was the end of my weekend away.

I'm now on my way back to the car and stopped off at this one. Once at GZ, I sat down of a moment while some muggles passed by and then I started looking for the cache. I looked for about a minute and then I looked up looked around and noticed the sound of foot steps so I paused. Once they passed by I got searching again and then spotted something familiar. I gabbed it, signed it and before replacing it, I needed to wait once again for some muggles. Now it's finally replaced and ready for the finder. Now back to the car.

TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. Big Grin TFTC’s Big Grin
