Apart from coming up to Shakespear to claim a mystery cache for a dot day, I wanted also to hopefully finish all the caches left for me in this reserve. This cache is the only one I couldn't cycle to, it had stairs! That's very inconsiderate of the C.O, she could have ironed those out for me before I came here. The little waterfall had some water today, but I bet after a storm, that little bridge would be swamped and the stream unable to be crossed. So I left the bike at the base of the stairs and walked to GZ from there. It was obvious where the cache would be but it was uncovered, but not visible to passers by though. So I sat and signed in, been here before apparently, according to my info on google earth, it was 18-7-14, but can't remember the visit. Thanks for the excuse to be here today TW. Now back down the track, get the bike and move along.
Lovely walk on such a sunny day as plenty of shade! QEF by mum in the obvious place. Watch your step indeed! SL TFTC
We were on a "quiet" walk with the kids through the bush, trying to spot something other than kereru/kukupa and piwakawaka, and came across a place where we might trip, especially given that we were looking up not down. When we did look down, guess what we found. Signed by us and beansproutnz. Tftc(A kereru was in the tree above us)
I was out for a walk with FriwiNZ and decided to do some caches, this was one of them. FriwiNZ found this one because I did not read the hint (stupid right!). TFTC
As we found the cache a couple with 2 very little kids passed us and nobody tripped passing the obstacle. TFTC
A fine day for a hike around Shakespear. My first find for the year, and only one of two caches I still need to find out here. Tftc
After a day on Tiritiri we had fish and chips for dinner and then while the rest of the family lounged in front of the TV I headed back to Shakespear RP to finish the AdLab and collect a few more of the caches on the walk.Looped back to the car via the waterfall gully - still plenty of light left. No interesting birds but got this cache - my question at GZ was which right?TFTC Team Welsh
Today we made a nice walk around the park during our nice holiday in New Zealand. Sometimes stopped for searching a geocache. This was one of them. Thanks for placing the cache in this very nice area,Greetings from team Camperfietser
The Swiss cacher family with Spiess, J_walk, MsSophie and Drayah visited also New Zealand and this cache. TFTC!

First of the day and found after a bit of muggle management. Neat spot and well hidden. TFTC
1958. 12:07 pm. A quick find on a much quieter trail - at least it was when I made the find and returned the cache. A minute or so later the trail was busy all the way to the carpark. Are all Auckland parks this busy on a Monday? TFT(mindful step)C.
Mrs McArgister booked the whānau a weekend away in Arkles Bay so when the weather was too windy to just hang out on the beach we decided to head to Shakespear. My first time here and I enjoyed the small part we explored. I’d love to come back and wander more extensively. The waterfall track was our highlight today and we continued on as far as this cache to get a bonus smilie. Quick find and cache in good condition. Thanks for the mindful cache!
Found thanks for the cache. Visiting with 3 sailing friends . Nice spot. Cheers 0/
I had leave from work today since I was meant to be somewhere else, but when that didn't end up working out, I realised how long it's been since I actually spent a day going exploring somewhere new. So I did that today! And it was a perfect day. The weather was beautiful, none of my six buses were cancelled, I found nineteen caches and six Ad Lab stages, saw so many birds, got some exercise (16.5 km of walking) and fresh air, just had a fantastic time.
After two DNFs this was the first cache I actually found today. I loved the waterfall on the way here! Minded my step, looked around, read the hint, then found the cache, nice and easy. Thank you for placing it here!

Hmm, hint depends on which way you are walking, but an instant find. What a lovely bush valley - the waterfall isn't on the map so was a surprise. No trad there... so must be a puzzle final near the falls?
I headed out to Shakespeare Regional Park this afternoon for a, nearly, three hour hike. I parked up in a shady spot at the bottom of the hill, nearish the beach, and took the track straight up the hill, over farmland, to the lookout. I then made my way west along the main ridge before taking the Kanuka Track, after finding "follow the yellow marked trail", down and around into Waterfall Gully and along the trail to this GZ. The GPSr was slow to adjust under the tree cover, but the cache title meant I knew when I was in the right spot, even if the GPSr was displaying 48m yet to go. A clear hint meant I was able to execute a quick find here, before the next group of walkers came by. Now to keep following this trail around to "xmas in the park". Cheers for the cache placement!
Slept not far from here at the free campground and started this morning that nice walk.
Ths start was not so good but than it was OK. Had some good views and very close contact with the sheep's.
Thanks.

We could find the cache after a short search without being discovered from muggles. Thanks for showing us this great place for the plants and animals! We really loved it and enjoyed our hike a lot.
Initially, we did not plan to visit Shakespear Park at all. We didn't even know it existed! But as most of the tracks through Waitakere Regional Park were still closed, we completely changed our plans. And it was a good decision as we enjoyed especially the part of the park where this cache is hidden.
We were able to find it quickly without muggles around.

Exploring my new neighborhood as I am enjoying Shakespeare park. Couldn’t leave all caches alone.
There are some nice new steps here now which should reduce the tripping over issue
Thanks the gps had me past it initially, but it was obvious where it should be with the hint. Then it settled nicely once at gz.
Thanks for putting this here

Found it, but didn't bring a pen to sign log. Lovely sound of water, searched around wrong tree first, then read the hint.
Found whilst out with mum keylev and a group of Team SEAC. Had lots of fun today.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
So today a crowd of 14 Team SEAC members encompassing 10 different caching names travelled north to the park and attempted all caches in the park. Logs were signed SEAC to save space. The weather today was perfect. Another nice quick find with so many people looking.
Team SEAC organised a cache finding outing to Shakespear Park and this was a quick find with a good hint. Still following SEAC. TFTC

Headed up this way today after one of our group suggested (for the fourth attempt) to take a walk around the park....as we had camped up here a few times before, we jumped at the opportunity, plus it was an opportunity of catching up with the group after being locked down by Covid-19.....parked nearby, and headed into the park.
Many places to search here, but with many eyes, the finds was made.....
Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space.

Team SEAC was out in force today with a mission to knock off the caches to be found in Shakespear Park at the end of Whangaparaoa. This had been on the cards for quite a while now but had always been thwarted by either COVID or bad weather. Today was our fourth attempt at getting the crew together and claiming this area.
Whilst enjoying this part of the Heritage Trail, we came across this cache. We looked around and soon spotted the item that the hint might be referring to. A quick examination of said object and the object that we desired to find was indeed found. (Log signed as Team SEAC to preserve log space)

A visit to this park was originally planned for June 2020 but the weather thwarted that event, it was rescheduled for Aug 2020 but then lockdown and restrictions meant we were not allowed to gather or cache, it was planned again for Jan 2021 but only a couple of the crew were available but many wanted to do it so we said we would find a better time. Today was that day, finally!!
They say good things come to those who wait and boy was this worth it....great weather, views, caches and of course the company!
My GPS was pointing a little too far along the path but there really was only one place the cache could have been with a the cache name saying what it does.
Thanks for the cache.

The Team SEAC group were hitting Shakespeare Regional Park. We had attempted this 3 times previous but were thwarted with COVID lockdowns and bad weather. NEITHER were an issue today as we were greeted with an amazing day and a LARGE proportion of the Team SEAC members turning out. The kids were in full force with B4Dawn diligently pushing B4Dawn VERY Mini cacher ALL the way around the park in a buggy type pram! All logs signed Team SEAC to save log Paper.

A nice quick find thanks. A well protected root!
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around Whangapararoa, Plan B. Plan A was to drive the Ara-Weiti Road, but is only accessible for residents as East Coast Road is CLOSED over that junction.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

What a lovely walk. Would be even better if it was 5 degrees cooler Our 11 and 9 year old thoroughly enjoyed this reserve. 11 year old found this one. Great hint. Thank you! On to the next one!
217. Great name as the trees make the GPS a little inaccurate. Lovely walk on a hot day. Happy new year!
Nice simple find while out for a winter's walk. There was a hitch hiker on the cache but hey!

My GPSr wouldn't make up its mind, so I just used the hint to get to the right place. There were quite a few people coming by, so I had to explain myself a few times. TFTC.

People coming up behind us but a super quick find by my sister (@WildTulip) just before they turned the corner behind us and then trying to look natural as we loitered to sign and replace the cache while they passed. Told them to "mind your step"(!) as they had a toddler with them. Replaced and then onwards... Thanks for placing Team Welsh!
Another great cache in Shakespeare park
Have enjoyed doing the caches in Auckland it has been a lot of fun

As often happens we were hypothesising about why we might need to ming our step and what we might find. We got our answer as we approached. TFTC # 16,106
On a geocaching expedition from Nelson. Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
Sadly there was not much water in the waterfall today - which was not really surprising as even in Nelson we have been aware of the need for more water in Auckland. No problem with the log which was signed as INSS for the group of 4.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Fantastic walk along the boardwalk and enjoying the great wildlife Cache little soggy.
Back in the country and area after 8 years!
Decided to take a walk in the area again and grab some caches.

I'm with some of my crew and taking my Grandson in his pushchair on this trail which was interesting in places. This was definitely one spot we had to lift the chair over. I did enjoy the bush walk but we didn't do the full loop. We decided to turn back at the uphill, grassy, farmland which looked very hot and not very pushchair friendly.
An obvious hint led to a fast find so that was great. I had to quickly sign and replace it before a group of kids arrived who were clearly on a school holiday program. Thanks for the caches along this trail

Find number 6577. Decided to do a couple of days caching in the area. With an emphasis to try to clear the Dalmatians. After parking up in Riverhead and riding the bicycle from there. I only got a few done before the batteries on my GPS went flat and when I lost phone coverage I had to change plans. In the end I ended up with 29 caches today and spent the night at Murawai. Day 2 was. Murawai, Dalmations and then onto Orewa for the night. Another 50 caches done.
Day 3 was Shakespeare and Stillwater. 29 More caches before heading home to Hamilton. Enjoyed the walk along this trail. Some amazing trees and stream pools to look at. I did not stumble on finding this one. Thank you for the placement.

Very useful hint made this a speedy find! What a lovely trail through the bush. TFTC
Located on a walk through the track with kiwitrecker1 and the youngest cacher. Glad for the shade, pretty warm today! TFTC
We were in the park today with the "Meetups" group for an epic adventure around the park. Signed logs as "Meetups". Climbed the hill from the beach carpark and we are well on our way around the park. Covered 13km today. Enjoyed the bush walk through here. Quick find. SL. TFTC.
Auckland Geocaching Meetup (signed as Auckland Meetup) event day and conveniently the last opportunity to get the mystery at the museum caches. GPS had me 10m+ further down the path, but used the hint and soon had it hand. TFTC
Went out for a walk around Shakespear Regional Park with a friend today and took the opportunity to grab a few caches in the area, while watching all the cute new born lambs. Took a walk up the waterfall track and made quick find of both caches up here. TFTC!
We were sent off to get this one while sisso2 set the stage for a photo - all was good and an easy find BUT we had to go back to the waterfall to get the scribing implement. Extra walking isn't a problem.
No room left on this log sheet either, needs replacement. We managed to squeeze our name on the very top!
Log book very full. Signed as HJS. Lots & wood pigeons. Never seen so many! TFTC
This was another quick find. Another my name I had to squish my name into. This is a really nice area. Surprise how much bush we have walked through so far. Tftc
