Oh dear! Yet another DNF. I don’t think it’s because of the jetlag, it’s just that there is no obvious fallen tree here and I suspect not everybody has logged a DNF.
Where to start - no extant fallen trees and after scrabbling around various clumps of rotted old branches we decided it wasn’t worth missing our bus for.
Haven't been this way for a long time. Always a pleasant walk around the parks and the weather is improving. Took a bit of finding as signal easily lost.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Auckland Geocaching Meetup (signed as Auckland Meetup) event day and conveniently the last opportunity to get the mystery at the museum caches. Struggled to find to fallen one, more like bits of one, but soon had it in hand, GPS spot on. TFTC
We were in the park today with the "Meetups" group for an epic adventure around the park. Signed logs as "Meetups". Climbed the hill from the beach carpark and we are well on our way around the park. Covered 13km today. Took a while to find and think we have tried this previously several times, but hadn't logged the DNF lol. Great to find it and get a smiley here. SL. TFTC.
Hop skip and a jump and found this one. We were stopped by a park ranger and was told there is open traps in the area and to be careful TFTC

What a cool little area! 7 of 12 today for me and the junior dispatchers. tnlnsl, tftc!
#6667. I am up in Auckland for several days and today decided to check some areas north of the Harbour Bridge including this regional park. I had uploaded a bunch of caches onto my GPS this morning but there must have been a glitch as none of them were showing up when I arrived here. So used the phone and an app to find the nearest cache. I still prefer to find caches by GPS rather than by phone so uploaded the cache coordinates and headed into the scrub. Meandered around for a bit, crossing the drainage channel and suddenly noticed an area worth closer inspection. Yes there was the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here Team Welsh.

Our first geocaching expedition in New Zealand, while visiting from UK. What a lovely place and wonderful weather. Quick find once we were on the correct path
A beautiful day, some free day, no better way to spend it than walking around a lovely reserve. TB+ T4tc
Great to see so much work done to help our venerable species here. Lots of traps laid and luckily quite a few good caches laid too tftc
Little jump and then an easy find. Made for a really fun day at the park. Thank you for the fun!
Auckland Day 3: Shakespear Park and some miscellanies.
One more day before heading off to the next destination, so decided that today will be the day I go for a little exploration of the Hibiscus Coast, particularly Shakespear Regional Park. The park was as scenic and nice as advertised and had a decent number of caches for the taking. All good fun, before heading over to Orewa for a late lunch and back to Auckland to prepare for tomorrow’s trip.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Last cache in the park. This one was relatively fast once I spotted the hint object. Nice little spot I must say, but, my, there really are a lot of traps here. TFTC!

Taking a walk along the heritage trail this afternoon and collecting as many of the caches as we can.Took a slight wonder off the track and quickly spotted this find.Lots of Pokeno about today.
Lots of fun had......someone should add a golf pencil for people like me that forgot a pen to sign in!!
Decided that I had some (alot) of spare time on my hands and I should get out and about. So headed up here to find the local caches in the park.
The film canister has transformed into a different style of container.
Made this a drive by as I had a good walk ahead of me
Many thanks

Nice cache. 5 years old daughter found it while I read the hint Swap some goodies. Rookie mistake: no pen with me. Thanks and greetings from Finland.
Nice secluded hideaway so you don’t have to be discreet while searching. Easy find, cache in good condition. TFTF!
Last find of the day for the Glee Team (liketips and TheMexiKiwi) and as we headed back towards the car we made the ever so slight detour to find this one. Was hoping we weren't going to find ourselves on the wrong side of the fence, but that wasn't an issue and the cache was soon found.
Left a few more to come back and pick up another time, but a great day out regardless and worth the trip again sometime. TFTC

#10 of the day! Quite an easy find...hid a little better since it was out in the open. TFTC
We took the detour track by the Yellow cache, across the paddock taking the short detour to the Pill box. This is where we found the mud! so what was dry boots, are now very much wet boots. Whilst it saved us some time and distance to the road, and the loop back to the car, this short section was wet and muddy sadly.
Walking along, we take the detour, and its little rebel who again found the cache, making the leap before I could
Log signed, and we are on our way. Thanks Team Welsh for the hide.

After finding 'No Pine Here' I thought this was further down the same dirt track. However the GPS lead us all the way back to the main car park and had us walking back up the road. This added a good hour onto our day !! Old man not happy but he kept a smile on his face !! Once at GZ it was a quick find (1st by the old man). TFTC
I parked my car up right close to GZ. It was very hot today and I couldn't wait to get under tree cover for some little relief. I'm using only my cell for directions, the GPS died yesterday in Whangamata in a misadventure involving kayaks. But never-the-less I saw the cache from 10 feet away, it hadn't been properly recovered. So that helped me to find it. I used some more natural camo to help disguise it. Thanks TW for the cache. I'll soon be getting out my e-bike to get to other caches.
We pulled over near GZ and were pleasantly surprised by this nice little hidden piece of bush.
We spied the hiding spot and made the find as traffic passed on the road nearby unaware of what we were up to. We did take extra care in leaving GZ however so as to not look like two dodgy people emerging from the bushes and waited until there were no prying eyes to judge us on what we might have been up to.
Thanks Team Welsh for this and all your hides in the area, we had a great day exploring this beautiful place and enjoyed finding your caches.
We still have a couple more to find so will be back sometime soon. TFTC.

This is my second day in New Zealand. The contrast from the less than favorable cache conditions in Bergen, Norway with minus 5C and snow to the conditions here in Auckland area is huge.
shendseth arranged a cache trip to the Shakespear park to show us the New Zealand nature and some caches. We logged som ECs (always a priority), one letterbox and some mysteries on our trip.
Thank you for making this vacation a bit more interesting with this cache

Out and about for some caching fun on this overcast day. I haven't actually driven on this section of road so decided to see where it went. Stopped for this cache along the way. Parked up and popped into the bush. Followed the GPSr and soon had the goods in hand. Cheers for the cache placement!
Our second family outing to Shakspear Park, this time with replacement batteries for the GPS. Again a wonderful walk for the family. We went over the lookout and down to the camp/beach area, after which I geocached my way up to get the car .
Great! Thanks for all the caches, and the walk!
("We will be back", it turned out - a bit of logging lag here)

#9751. We enjoyed visiting Shakespear Regional Park in Army Bay, Whangaparaoa today. A good walking around. Quite a few other walkers were on the trails today as well. Fortunately, GZ itself was all quiet when we visited. Quick find slightly off road. The cache was a bit bigger than a 35 mm film canister, and was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to this site, and …

Made plans earlier in the week with Merlot58 and Aiden29 to go to Shakespear Park. A great day with all caches in good condition and no DNFs for us. We were happy to step under the trees for a bit of shade on this hot Summer day. Didn't take long for Merlot to find this one.
Merlot58, Jag50 and I made plans to head out to Shakespear Park today. This was a beautiful walk through the bush passing a few muggles enjoying the nice weather. Once out of the shade of the bush, it was hot and muggy. There was a few hint locations but we found the cache eventually.
Merlot58, Jag50 and I made plans to head out to Shakespear Park today to pick up all the caches. Our penultimate cache here, while the others searched another spot, I found the cache where I was looking
Yay, another one for this trip. Hard convincing our 3yr old to leave the dog eraser as we had nothing to swap!
NQF here after finding the way in. Left TB for onward travels. Awarding a favourite point here for the Heritage walk caches. Long way to come back for the missing one! TFTC and greetings from the UK
I went out for a wander around Shakespear Regional Park this beautiful afternoon, taking in the great views and finding a few geocaches that I hadn't previously found. I took a friend with me who whilst interested in Geocaching, hasn't actually signed up yet! I gave her the GPS and stood back to encourage her to try find most of the caches. Quickly spotted this one after dashing into the bushes. TFTC!
It was a hot day today which made the road walk back to our car over the hill at the beach not so pleasant. This cache was a welcome much needed break. Spotted the cache on approach so covered it better on departure. TFTC
Quick and easy find, though the film canister container was actually swapped out with a different type of container when we found it. TFTC
After some morning errands on the north shore I decided to enjoy some sunrays in Shakespeare Park. Quick find after finding an entry to the geocache. TFTC
A really nice short walk in this lovely park! I enjoyed all the little caches along the way with a stunning view at the top!

Another trip out and we chose this area for a walk. A great one it was too though we didn't seek all the caches we did find several though had a couple of DNFs.
We had a great walk round and in the open the views were great and then into the wooded area - a completely different world.
Quick find once we worked out how to get in there

Out and about today picking up caches in the sunshine. Somehow missed this one last time we were up here. Nice hide. Thanks Team Welsh.
Decided to come back today and collect some of the recent additions since I was last here. This was an easy find as I was wandering down the road, cheers
This was our last geocache today in Shakespear Park - debated whether to walk down the road or the fenceside trail. Probably the trail was better as we would have been away from the cars but in the end we got to the right spot. The GPSr was pretty jumpy but in the end geowife actually spotted it pretty easily. Saw that another geocacher is in the park today as they had signed the log before us - perhaps they were walking the other way. Thanks for the cache here and for all of the series through here, we had a nice day.
Being Mother's Day I, of course, wanted to spend it caching I had been to Shakespeare Regional Park before but plenty more caches have recently popped up. The weather was perfect for late autumn which made for a very enjoyable day. This was cache 15 of 15. The last cache for the day and spotted fairly quickly once the fallen one had been located. The cache was sticking out a bit so I tried to cover it up a bit better, TFTC!
Parked at the start of the Multi at the beach and on foot from there for the rest of the time. Q E F here, just off road, as promised. Nice camo!
After the decent trail this morning along Route 66, where I got my kicks, this afternoon I headed over this way to stretch the legs and get some fresh air nd sunshine. Walked for around 3 hours and cleared the majority of the caches out this way, very enjoyable to do, thanks.
Just under 4 hours total to do the series, caching on my own and driving, navigating, glasses on and off all the time, not too bad an effort and great views along the route.
A few years ago I had an operation on my feet and was laid up in bed for a long time, too long. Being a geocacher I re-invested this time in solving a few puzzles here and there to while away the time. Among those puzzles were the Route 66 series which I hoped to one day find if I was ever in the area, with wheels and with time to spare. This weekend is that time and I vowed to improve my current May 13th total of 2 finds on this date to better. When I've finished logging it will be a nice round 100-day!
Managed to get on the road nice and early after breakfast and increased my Rosmar finds from a paltry previous 4 to a healthy 70-plus!
I know Green Day are playing the city this weekend but today was my own version of a Green day; converting green boxes (and blue puzzles) to positive smiley faces of joy and success.
I was even done by 4pm after a trip after lunch out to Shakespeare Park out Whangaparoa way and a pleasant stroll around on this wonderful sunny day. I used the hints (where they were provided) to help me with a good rate of success today. There were quite a few quarry trucks around for the first hour or so and I feared a dangerous day but after I passed the quarry I never saw another one, phew! Apologies (in advance) for the cut and paste logs but hard to remember all stories on a power trail. Even saw a Route 66 plaque on the fence at one GZ. Gotta go out and make another big day out tomorrow as well, yay.
Oh and today was landmark reaching day too, with my finds total going past a mighty 7000 finds, thanks to all CO s who helped achieve this especially rosmar T F T Ps and Cs

I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
I have parked my mobile home up in Shakespear Regional Park yesterday with the intention of participating in my personal challenge as there are a number of newish caches on the Penisula and its environs. Tody the target is eleven. So it is off for a nice walk around the park.
Cheers for the cache.

Had to hunt to find a permanent fallen one but clever hide. Had to watch out for lots of cars driving past. Didn't sign as pen got wet
This was a nice hide, and following a DNF on the previous cache, this was all the more sweet. Thanks!
Nice private little spot to do the business.
Very tranquil, lots of birdsong and cicadas.
