DNFWell May has come around once again, that means off on a camping trip chasing Yellow Faces . Lucky enough to find many but have encountered a couple Blue Faces .Either way the experience has been rewarding due to the Geocache locations and the beautiful Autumn days in the low 20s.Many thanks go out to all the COs and the maintenance crews around the remote and country regions that make travelling more enjoyable.Sadly this one today, we just can't find it, hope it isn't cache blindness!
This CO has not logged in since 13 Oct 21, maybe the CO is no longer active to maintain this cache. There could be a local that could inherit this hide!
Amazingly, the temperature was half that of yesterday - 21C today , enabling us to look for a few extra caches that we wouldn't have bothered with the day before: so much long grass down here, most more than a metre high and right up to the bitumen .Always nice when a cache comes with its own parking area, and we needed it here [^].Looked around for aeons, but couldn't spot anything cache-like, even after widening the search area .Another one for the DNF list .Thanks anyway Kip59.
Still can't find it gave checked a lot but the grass is so long and just can't locate it.
On a 'non beach weather' day we headed out from our holiday base of Robe and challenged ourselves to get as many 'park and grabs' as we could manage before the kids got bored. My aim was 10 and we managed 21 between us which made for a fabulous morning. Each member of our family of 4 had a task - timekeeper for Mr. 11 (Each find needed to be under 5 minutes or it counts as a dnf - we only got one), driver - an important task not to get frustrated with the navigator when we overshoot the mark or drive too fast on the main roads, the navigator/planner (me) and the side-kick - bringer if positivity, enthusiasm, energy and determination), miss 9.
This one was exposed, we hope we put it back where it belongs, or as close to as possible.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC kip59

Post geoventure caching with Sebastbat, Jack, and Froghoppin, along the journey home.
Found a bunch of caches, including two here, The old a little worn, and a brand new throw down next to it!
Thanks you for putting this cache out on the SE SA geomap kip59
---
All the Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Found at 15:55 during a fantastic extended weekend away with Shonkylogic and Southern Cross Caching. We had grand plans to complete swathes of powertrails and solved puzzles, but the weather slowed us down a bit. Even so, it was a lot of fun, and we passed my goal - to get my 9000th find
Friday, day 1, had us driving and caching from morning in Adelaide until the 6pm event in Millicent.
Day 2 focussed on the fishing series, wine bottle, and numerous other caches in that vicinity.
Day 3 was our slowest, due to the worse weather, but still a lot of fun.
Day four, after doing SFE series and nearby caches, plus those we passed, I arrived home at about 8pm, after finding my 9000th cache along the way.
Great to catch up with many of the usual faces, some others we hadn't seen for a long time, and a few new faces too.
Thanks for the hides

Apologies for the generic log.
Uni and Medusa, Southern Cross Caching, and I ... shonkylogic spent the October Long Weekend in 2021 attending the Easter 2020 Mega Event at Millicent.
Along the way we stopped to find as many caches as we could - because we somehow convinced our better halves not to accompany us. Or perhaps it was because they really don't like caching as much as us.
We came well equipeed in the Pahero, with not one, not two but THREE TOTTs to help us. Even that wasn't sufficient for all the hides, sometimes you just don't have the right tool for the job.
We enjoyed meeting up with old friends, in these days of Covid is really is very special to be able to hold an event like this.
Thanks kip59 for placing and maintaining the cache

Our time in the South East is drawing to a close now so today we headed north grabbing those caches towards Kingston which we hadn’t already found and then enjoyed a bit of four wheel driving in Mt Scott Conservation Park to grab another cache and a Trig Point.

Found during a camping trip to the Coorong and the Southeast areas with brisal5 and I in one vehicle, and e.gregory and friend in the other. We travelled around the Narrung Peninsula and down the Coorong where we spent the first night camped out at Tea Tree Crossing. Enjoyed some challenging driving and eventful cache finds, wandering bush tracks and strenuous sand dune climbs in very scenic areas. The second night saw us camp out in Little Dip before meandering the country roads in search of an assortment of Traditional, Earth, Multi and Puzzle caches further down the coast before heading back home via Lucindale, Padthaway and Keith. Thanks for the cache kip59!
Back down to Mount Gambier with Mogni. She wanted to do mainteneance on some of her caches. We took the inland road down there and stopped at every cache i hadn't found and cleaned up some of the newly published caches for her. We even got a unexpected joint ftf on the way.
Day 172 (Tuesday 18th) of our trip. Caching along the way. Left Millicent today. A total of 12 for the day and 3013 for the trip. TFTC
Found It!
A bit of an unusual cache container but it didn't take me too long to spot it!

I cant make it for the Mega so have come down for a few days to clear a bit if the map. TFTC
Easily found this one but the ants were at large and have taken over, I was unable to stamp the log due to the extent. Cache needs urgent fixing
A big weekend away down to the south east of the state, the major focus was to par take in the 100mile (160km) cycle classic around mount gambier on the Saturday. Along he way as always there and back I collected a few caches (near 100 on my round trip)
Thanks for the cache and its placement.

Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. With the exception if the logbook, the cache and contents were in good condition. The logbook was full. So we left an additional logbook as an interim measure. Thanks kip59 for the cache and the series.
Today was our final day in the south-east, as I did a few sinkhole and cave dives, and then geocached for the afternoon and upon my return to Adelaide. I geocached around Tantanoola checking out the town and tiger, before heading back and geocaching around Millicent, stopping at a few of the Commurra Bus series on the way through to Kingston S.E., and then making a brief stop in Meningie.
On the highway back to Kingston SE, I had enough mood in me to do a few of this series, just to clear them from future travels. This cache was a great hide actually, and appreciated how it blended in with its surroundings. The logbook is full however, and needs replacing. Thanks kip59.

Here on the corner,
I stopped where the bus would have
And a short stroll around revealed something odd [:o]
Well it had to be a cache didn't it ??
Turns out it was
But I haven't seen a container like that before !!
Where did it come from ??
Looks like part of a skool bus !!

From our base in Millicent, in the very good company of fellow Victorians Suscoe, we enjoyed the scenery and the history lessons, of a day along the coast including Robe and Cape Jaffa.
Quick kids get on! A FP left for this cleverly designed sneaky hide.
Thanks 'kip59' for showing us the bus run.

What a brilliant day Suscoe had today out and about with our good friends Phetlern.
Sunshine, some light drizzle here and there, some fog, a gentle breeze, sheep, cows, horses, foxes, seabirds and loads of wonderful countryside including coastal scenery and pastoral lands greeted us as we travelled from Millicent to Cape Jaffa and back again.
We enjoyed our day out and we found lots of caches.
Thanks to kip59 for this hide, we were enjoying the cache pages and remembering school days.

ROAD TRIP! Well a short one. Heading down to Mount Gambier. Direct way has very few caches that I haven't found. So take the scenic route and grab some caches along the way. [^]
Woo hoo a mini power trail. Although I was starting to run a little behind I decided I could grab a few of these.
This one was a great hide. It blended in beautifully and I checked a few other places before discovering the cache. I think it was so clever I am leaving it a FP. [;)[

As we came along the highway we picked up the bus stop series. As a child I went to school by bus leaving at 7.30am arriving at school at 9am, so I spent many hours travelling this way.
The later section was sand hills, salt pans & lakes, a totally different landscape.

This was an interesting hide. Mark walked past it but Mary saw it after looking in other spots TFTC.
Day Three of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I toured from Robe up to Kingston SE, and looped back around the Commurra Bus Run to Robe (and greasies for tea!).
A lot of caches in Kingston SE need a lot of TLC.
Seven children! No wonder they needed a bus!
A very familiar container for this one.
Thanks, Robmc.

#11586. Day 3 of our holiday and today Robmc and I left windy Robe and headed for windy Kingston S.E. and surrounds. On leaving town after lunch we headed out for some more outlying caches and to do the Commurra Bus Run series on the way back to Robe.
Rob had wandered too far away but I soon spied something we had seen yesterday. A neat hide this, I like it.
Thanks kip59

We moved to Adelaide from Naracoorte in September last year and this is our first trip back. How exciting as there are around 100 new caches to find. Prior to leaving we had exhausted most caches within 80kms of home.
So we set off this morning to tick off a few before heading to the Taste Festival back in Naracoorte. We decided to do the school run series which we really enjoyed as there were a variety of different containers and good hides. TFTC and series.

During our one month journey in Australia, Primile and I stayed here in this beautiful Robe before we went to Adelaide. We enjoyed the Christmas Eve here with sunshine and beautiful weather, completely different to Austria`s cold weather We had walks on the beach and a did a longer drive in the surrounding areas. Therefore we did the Commurra Bus Run and we had a lot of fun TFTCs to kip59 and many greetings from Austria
Out with hevwalker & CPWanderer to complete the Commurra Bus & Furner series.

Found on a return visit to the Furner / Haverleigh area with clare007 and hevwalker!! We found most of them reasonably easily including one we had DNFed on the last visit (a snake had limited our search!) It was the perfect weather to be out and about… we had brought lunch with us and had it near the Furner oval while the locals were playing cricket. Thankyou for the hides in this area!!
Doing a South East run this weekend with CPwanderer & clare007. It was perfect weather to be outdoors...

Now this was a good spot for a cache, we didn't have to worry about farmers thinking we were up to no good at their gate.
The traffic scooting along the highway is still busy too.
