I was on my way to oick something up out of town on sat and remembered I needed a cache so stopped for this quick png.I've had a busy few days with the sudden passing of a friend so just got to logging it.Thanks for the cache- dry and in good order
Having solved a bunch of mysteries over the past couple of months, including the night before finding them. A spontaneous trip down was made by Kiwi Does Stuff and team Reschedule to collect some Canterbury caches. We have headed out to set ourselves a personal best for a days caching. The perfect caching wagon (a rental car) has been acquired allowing us to go anywhere with ease. All of the caches have made for an enjoyable weekend to remember and resulted in a solid and best days caching.Apologies for the generic log, all caches signed are a mixture of Res, Resch & Reschedule - a big thanks to the CO for creating, placing and maintaining all of their caches. TFTC!
Having solved a few Mystery caches in the area, a last minute decision was made along with Reschedule to fly to Christchurch for Queens birthday weekend.A last minute rush at home before flying to solve some more mysterys, but that still wasnt enough, so after finally arriving at 11pm, out with the laptops to solve a few more.Saturday morning we set out with a goal, to set a new personal best. Having seen what numbers others did in the area, that shouldnt be too hard. We had some targets in mind, Eclipse, Skelly, Smurfs along with any traditionals and other random mystery caches we come across. We aquired the best vehicle for the job, a rental car! Overall we thorouhly enjoyed it, but we did not quite complete it all, so we will be back. TFTC and thanks for giving us an excuse to head for Christchurch!
I had to bring our caravan to Christchurch for its annual service at the dealer to keep the warranty valid, so while that was happening, I decided to fill in my time with some geocaching. I was actually in the area targeting puzzle caches on a Friday to qualify for a challenge cache in Dunedin, the venue for this years Mega. The ones I was targeting were the Spell Month Series, but this one was on my route, so I pulled over for a QEF PnG.TFTC G&7M
Another trad to pick up in the area as we make our way around solved puzzles. tftc#7242
Such a hot day with temp in the 30's. Had been shopping in the air conditioned mall and had just enough energy to do a cache on the way home. Easy find with the cache in a cool little hidey hole. TFTC
Came by here and located the nicely placed cache. I never went to the Turangi mega, I was working nightshifts from memory.
TFTC gracie7 + Mum, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #4186

Found on our drive home from walking at the West Melton horse area with the geomutts. Gorgeous day.
I came to Christchurch with my muggle wife, While she attended Wool Fest, I got a full day to go caching.
Quick stop, but I still had to check two places TFTC.

I've been in the Garden City with Itchyfeet2020 and NZ_B for the weekend, and what a weekend it has been! Cumulatively we had targeted so many personal challenges, individual caches we wanted to get, 'things' we wanted to do etc, that teaming up with these two caching troopers has been one of the best things I've done in ages. We've achieved so much in our short time here that my mind (and body) is still reeling. I'm sure the enormity will still be sinking in for many days to come.
After our mammoth efforts yesterday of finding 236 caches in 1 day (16 hours to be precise) we had decided that today would be a far more restful day, with only challenging ourselves to finding 12 Cache Types in a day. Little did we know at this stage what kind of day we would end up having lol.
Having just had a bit of a disappointing time failing to find a nearby cache, we were very happy to be able to find this one. A quick find at the good co-ords, the logbook was signed as T.I.N.T (for Team Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, and TwigNZ) before everything was replaced exactly as found.
Thank you for setting this cache up. This is my TRAD cache for my 12 types in 1 day.

NZ_B and TwigNZ and I have come to Christchurch to complete a number of shared and individual challenges. Today - day 3 is types and individual caches needed for a whole range of reasons. We were passing here today and couldn't help but stop. All caches signed as T.I.N.T for Team Itchyfeet2020 NZ_B and TwigNZ. TFTC
Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip.
Of course there were many other puzzles solved as well. We certainly made a great dent in my solved puzzle list but I'll still have enough for another trip.
This was our big day where we planned to get as many as possible. Sadly we fell just short of our diamond badge as we lost track of out exact find numbers.
The weather was fine but long wet grass from overnight rain made a wet start to the day. I eally enjoyed my day and want to thank all the CO's who contributed by placing caches out this way.
Congrats on your teams win in the Mega quiz of 2016. I'm not really a quiz person as I'm not interested in trivia. Glad this was a quick'n'park and grab. Thanks for the cache

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei on Wednesday avo. Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list.
Today looked like being the best weather for our trip, despite a heavy thunderstorm overnight. We had a Big Day Out planned, with a perhaps optimistic target of finding 300 caches in one day. Working together well as a team, with a driver, a navigator and a jumper, we made good progress, but in the end, the bigger distances between caches, that we hadn't anticipated, meant we ended the day a bit short.
A fun day though certainly, and sincere thanks to the GeoArt & Trail CO's, and others, for placing and then maintaining such large numbers of caches so well. A testament to your dedication to Geocaching was the very low number of DNF's during the day. Apologies for the mostly generic logs, but be assured your efforts were truly appreciated.
Couldn't go past a Trad between puzzles. Nice quick find in the end I did think.

Northland's Team Gold (0B80B8, Liz Crew, DaffyNZ) are in Christchurch for a few days collecting all our solved puzzles and other cache types as we drive past. This is our "Big Day Out" to collect as many caches as we can in a day. Sorry for the generic logs. Thanks for placing the cache. We are loving every cache we locate that adds to our tally for the day.

We were on a mission to tidy up the Smurfs, and then start on other geoart, but always time to stop and grab a trad or two!

Hi there gracie7 + Mum. We found some time for a visitto the quarry park here today after quite a late start. We're now in our 3rd week of 5 in this visit and absolutely loving the quality of NZ caches. We found this cache at around 11:58:00 AM - TN, LN, SL. Thanks to gracie7 + Mum for this cache - our find 9751 and the 1st of 19 finds for the day.
FieldNotes: The cache and log were both found in good condition.

This was one of those opportunity type of cache where I just happened to be passing and had a spare few minutes to make a quick find. Thanks gracie7 + Mum. Your cache is in good condition.
21 October 2021 09:06. Found with GSEL as we headed over to the West Coast. No problems here, TFTC.
#10,018. Day 2 of the extended Labour Weekend geocaching road trip. I flew down with geocaching buddy Infoferret yesterday with a target list of geotour caches, adventure labs, puzzle finals, a few virtuals and a hike to get the DGSC final. We can't resist stopping to pick up a few traditionals on the way to boost the overall numbers. The Adventure Labs claimed during the week down south have thrown my overall numbers into chaos. Maybe the souvenir 10,000 find will pop up today rather than on Bank's Peninsula. Who knows when. IF was keen to find this one so we stopped and she soon had the cache in hand. Signed the logbook, replaced and on our way again. Thanks gracie7 + Mum for hiding it here.
Yep, we looked at the wrong end. Two other people have already found this cache today. Quick find.
After our last DNF I was excited to get this one but Mr Grub had to retrieve as I'm a chicken. Thanks for the hide

I hope that the missing Turangi quiz winners have been found by now.
Cache was a quick find and the hint, as ambiguous it is was surprisingly precise.
Kia ora! Paldies!

Having finished the Month Spelling Challenge series we needed a few more caches to find before the rental camper was due so this one was the next in line......
No issues with the find, could have been in either end.......

A quick find today as we head back to West Melton after a few caches. Knew where this one had to be as soon as we pulled up! TFTC
Heading home from setting up an AED at Orana Park the route home took me passed this one...well passed a couple actually so thought I'll get this one. Parking up the car at the other end was safest and the find was quick. All well and good

We enjoyed finding this cache. The little ones enjoyed looking at the contents. TFTC!
Mum had Lion meetings all day Saturday in Hanmer Springs then we spent Sunday around Rangiora doing maintenance checks and abit of caching. Because today is Westland Anniversary day we headed home via ChCh to do some lab adventures first and then some maintenance on the way out of town. We planned on stopping at all of our Spelling Challenges and this cache is on the way. Gotta love bridge barriers for keeping logbooks so dry. All good here. We just gave the book a new bag as the other the was ripped. Happy Caching Coincidentally today was also the 6th anniversary of placing this cache!
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located!*

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some before-hand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
We thought that end... A huge thank you to all the cache owners and their helpers for placing and maintaining these hides. Thanks gracie7 + Mum and TFTC.
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
First cache on our chch to west coast cache weekend with the incredible Che22 hehe
Interesting, I spend two weeks a year in Turangi fly fishing. Easy find as I have done bridging the gap series. TFTC
First find for the day on a day of Geocaching. Hoping to make 24 in 24hrs, this is no.1 Was a quick and easy find, well, after first diving in the trees, as you do.
Day 2 in Christchurch for the long weekend with the crew from Dunedin and South land. On the list for the day of find to find. Found with KJR, Natalie247, CJ-Curry and Hevic. TFTC ?
With no Mega in sight for the weekend, a bunch of Otago and Southland cachers invaded Christchurch this weekend. Today I cached with Hevic, Gadget169, K.J.R, and natalie247 to blitz our way through a bunch of caches in and around western Christchurch. Apologies for the C&P logs but I'll never catch up otherwise!
I'll freely admit to not paying much attention during this one as I was busy trying to solve puzzles. When I did pay attention, however, the find was fairly straightforward. Cheers!

A quick find in first place we looked.
2016 was our first year of caching, heard about the Turangi event at the time, but decided it was took far... Went to Oamaru the following year, wanted to but didnt go to Wellington in 2018.
Christchurch for a non-Mega Labour weekend was fun, hopefully we can get to Auckland next year for our first official Mega.

We are part of a group of cachers from Invercargill who have come up to raid the largely untapped Canterbury region. We had a huge and successful day today, finding this cache was one of our reasons for being so tired. TFTC
We stopped on the way home to drop off a TB that has already been West and found another one in the cache, so we took that one with us instead. All good here we just added a new bag as the present one was ripped. Happy Caching
Out caching to freshen my breath this morning.
Stopped here on my way back to the airport to make the find.
Dropped off a TB.
