After the GCLOGAN Friday event it was a short drive to arrive close to the starting point for this mystery. Information was collected and calculations made which put me in the lake. A PAF was sent out and a rework still had me in the lake. Eventually the correct GZ was calculated and the sneaky hide was ultimately found. The log was signed before returning everything as found. We were at a nearby cache and grabbed this one while we were neraby TFTC

Out at a nearby event. Then we headed this way to do a werigo , stopped here to gather some information. And manage to complete this puzzle at the same time. This has been on our to-do list for a long time.

Found a proper puzzle with this. A real mystery. Nice engaging storyline. Some ambiguity in the narrative. In the end a good where is it.What a beautiful lake you have brought us to. Olaf might even visit sometime. Thanks for the cache and

Thanks for the placement and smiley. We spent a pleasant hour or so at Dennis Lake pondering our possible error. Thanks to the last cacher it occured to me there are 360 degrees in a circle and then the cache was found.

Needed to recheck answers to this one before logging. It seems I made the same mistake as a few others before me with regards to the rounding. Well, not so much the rounding but the "decading". With a 2 digit number instead of one, the numbers then matched the answer for a well-hidden cache's coordinates. I must say a rushed effort with the end time for the day looming, I didn't really take enough time to appreciate this beautiful gem of a lake I didn't know about. I need to remember that it isn't always just about the caches, but often also the places.

A last minute discussion sees me travelling over to the southside to meet up with two of the triple turmoil's. We had a plan to grab some target caches that we both did not have around springwood, slacks creek and daisy hill areas. It was good day and some great caches. It was also good for me as I got another cache for a challenge I have been working on, just one more now. It was an early start and nice and cool, however as the day went on it did get up the on the temp scale. This was my next cache and a nice grab. We got into solving the puzzle and had a set of numbers that looked good. We went back to the boards and found an error and recalculated and had a new set of numbers, in the opposite direction this time. A search around and eventually we found a very well concealed cache. It was only after some helps to check if it was still there I will add. We signed the log and returned the cache as found. I was happy with the find and we continued on to the next one in the area. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide, yes a difficult well challenging find..

Out for the day with nikid1 to start getting points for the souvenir. We opted for the parking with the east walk & were soon at the posted coords & enjoyed the view whilst finding some answers. I got the same answers as nikid1s previous attempt so not sure where we went wrong but luckily her PAF sent us in the right direction & even provided a hint which was very welcome as this is a tricky hide! Thanks for the fun multi in a lovely location RoddyC

GC6X985 Revisiting Lake Dennis - Parks & Recreation Series

Out for a morning of caching with KerriMG.
I have been here before with the family with no luck. Used a PAF to check my answers but I had made a mistake somewhere along the line.
Admired the view then went hunting.
After a bit of searching KerriMG made the find on the third one.

Lots of magpie geese about today doing lots of honking.

Thanks for bringing us here. It’s lovely.

After spending the morning at a fashion parade in my friend's retirement village nearby, I have been meaning to get this cache for ages.
Parked at the top of the hill and made my way down to the info board. Have never been here before and surprised at this lake.
Read all the info and gathered the numbers only to find my GZ was in the water.
Reworked my numbers but still no better. Made a PAF to a previous finder who set me straight. I didn't quite understand the wording for one of the numbers.
With a new GZ, I searched and searched but still no cache.
After about 20mins resorted to my PAF again who gave me directions on where to look.
Still took me 10mins to finally find this nasty cache.
Water has entered the container, so dried it out as best I could and returned all as found.
Spent more than an hour here...

A fav point for the sneaky hide.

A free day off work so have tee’d up Peppa to do some random caching on the south side.

We didn’t really have a plan but there was a list, that list has gone out the window now. This cache was unfound by the both of us, Peppa has been here once before but was unsuccessful.

We crunched the numbers and got similar to what he had before. I would like to say that I proposed a different count for one of the numbers but was shut down. It wasn’t until we reached out for help that we worked out our mistake (insert ‘I told you so’) and got a better set of coords. It still took a while searching before Peppa finally lates eyes in the sneaky hide. It was a bit water logged but we could make our mark.

Out for a day of adventure with Davinells… and this is our final cache before I had to leave for “work”

There’s a list… but I’m not sure either of us know the point of the list…

I’ve actually been here once before… but my ability to “round” is below an acceptable level, and therefore I was nowhere near the cache…

Even with Davinells, my poor rounding skills saw us closer to the water than where we were supposed to be…

A PAF to the super Brainstrust and our (my) error was pointed out to me… oohhhhhh….

Don’t tell anyone, we also discovered another Cachly Superpower… who knew it could do that!

A new GZ, and another 15 minutes and we finally spotted the container… after emptying out the water, we made our mark and returned everything as found…. Tftc…

Sneaky indeed… happy to show this cache some love today…

Found it! Very sneaky indeed, I didn’t expect that hide at all. TFTC!

Last time we visited this location, we had collected all the numbers but couldn’t find nothing at GZ. We did message the CO, but I think there was a lot of council work going on at the time in the area, and that the hide had disappeared.
Returning this time after some months, the work is complete, however we took time to recheck our answers with the plaque nearby.
They matched up, and so without numbers in the GPS, we began our search.
Suffice to say… it’s a sneaky hide!
The area is very beautiful, and many of the houses across the wayerway have such a great outlook.
We have added our name to the log sheet.
Thanks RoddyC,
Domsky

Out and about collecting smilies to gain some elevation to help "Reach the Peak" for this month in the new souvenir series.

Returned to nab this one after it was identified as missing on my last visit. Thanks for replacing. Beautiful peaceful spot just after sunrise.

Find #11327 @ 06:24
Thanks RoddyC for giving us a reason to visit.

After a somewhat successful bike ride in the Daisy Hill forest, I stopped here on my return, had to stretch my legs and rest my eyes on the shiny mirror that is this dam.
I corrected my mistake from last visit and arrived at a likely spot.
Understood the hint but could still not find the well-hidden cache.
In the end I got some help to locate it.

Thank you RoddyC for this one

There are pegs for future works around GZ, hopefully the cache will be safe.

Out with Brislions, finding a few caches. Last cache for the day was this one. At GZ, we searched and searched without luck. A PAF was made and the cache was quickly located. TFTC

We had lots of fun today a few paf for information and help to find. Thank you for the help that was given.

We're happy to finally lay this one to rest.
After the CO kindly pointed out the mistake in our calculations, we came back for another try. However, no luck

I happened to speak to the owner at a recent event and he gave me a clue as to what to look for.
Armed with the knowledge that our co-ords were right and a good idea of what look for we arrived early and to our joy we found the cache... Exactly where we had focused our search last time... It is well hidden! After our victory dance, we signed log and carefully replaced cache where found.
Thanks RoddyC, for both the cache and the help given. A favourite point for sure

Solved (at least, I think) but couldn't find the cache. Will be back to try again another day. TFTH!

Over from NZ to hopefully catch some warmer ( and drier..?? ) weather. Our accommodation is in the Daisy Hill area, and this handy puzzle looked not too daunting, so headed off on Friday to look for this one.

Very surprised at the size of the lake that pops into view as you walk down the path. Driving in the area, it just seems to be continuous streets and houses, but then you find gems like this. That's what I love so much about caching - it takes you to neat places you would never otherwise see.

Made my way to GZ and read the interesting info on the sign to gather the data I needed. From there the calculated final seemed to make sense, so off I went to look. Found something that told me it was the second one, but despite a thorough search there and surrounding, I couldn't locate any micro cache. With it starting to get dark, I called off the search, knowing that I would probably see the CO at his Saturday flash mob event and could maybe get a hint. Once I described to him where I had looked, the only hint I got, along with a cheeky knowing smile, was that I was lucky not to have burnt fingers..!!

Headed back there today in beautiful weather and re-evaluated GZ, where a different option for the second one hint was spotted, and sure enough, on closer inspection, there was the sneaky little hide. Sometimes it's easy to get fixated on what you think you are looking for, but the hide is actually something quite different. I think I've only found a couple like this in my caching career to date. A fave from me for the beautiful location and the neat cache hide. TFTC

Out with joojoo57 for a few hours today.

Having a previous finder in tow made this an easy visit for me. It's very sneakily tucked away. And I was surprised at how large the lake was. TFTC, RoddyC.

I checked this cache out last week but the answers I got did not give me a good location.

After discussion with a previous finder I found where I had mis-calculated and today i headed back for another look.

A torch was need for the search as the sun had gone down,

Clad that I had the information from the friend as I am sure I wouldn't have found it without the help.

TFTC RoddyC I was pleased to see another cache in this location as I enjoyed the visit for the previous cache.

Just to clarify, no question on this page has been updated - it remains as it was originally. Just don't miss the point!

Woohoo. *FTF*

Thanks for the prize RoddyC.

My name along with E:) and Imbunda's was drawn out to claim this as a first to find prize. Big Grin

We galloped off and soon found the information we wanted. In out rush however, we failed to pay attention to details and missed the point. [B)]

If you don't see the point you will never find this one. With poor phone signal hampering our distress call we searched on the wrong area for a while. SadRed Face[:o)]

With no success we checked our numbers and came up with some possible variations. Mr RoddyC has updated the question to eliminated that issue. It still will no help if you are not seeing the point here. Wink

Finally we had just enough phone signal to call for help. Red Face Redirected several hundred metres and we were off searching again.

Very quick find once we were in the right spot. Big Grin

"FTF" along with teamdfl and E:). Attended a nearby event "Signal visits the Koalas" and the 3 of us were lucky to have our names drawn out to find this cache.
Off we went in search of the prize teamdf was being the calculator while E:) and I were giving the vital info we needed to solve this mystery but all 3 of us missed the point completely and made hard work of and easy find. We were way off course and had to phone for clarification of our calculations.
The question has now been updated to eliminate other people missing the point. It was a fun experience for us even thought we were way off and took a lot longer to find.
All 3 of us signed the log and replaced cache as found. TFTC

At the Event today and decided to do this cache. Arrived at GZ and started looking around, but we had to be careful as there were muggles walking past. Finally found. What a great area for a cache. TFTC

01-Jul-17
Heading home from the nearby event and we just had time to collect the information and do our conversions. That was the easier part - the finding of the cache was a challenge. Thanks RoddyC.

After attending the nearby Signal Visits the Koalas Event we did a detour to find this one. On arrival we were greeted by such beautiful scenery and after working out the sums we headed to GZ. Well all I can say is that this was a simple but very clever hide and was pleased to have had a few friends with me in the search party otherwise I don't think I would of found it.
Thanks RoddyC for the great hide and a favorite point from me, TFTC Smile

So lucky to have my name in the barrel again for the **FTF**!
I have no idea how to convert meters and degrees to minutes and seconds so I just went along for the ride! ha ha..
Our first final was leading us to a tree in the middle of someone's property so we recalculated our answer. Lucky Imbunda took a photo of the info board. We kept on referring to the hint, just couldn't figure out what the second one meant.
Eventually we got the right final and with Imbunda's sharp eyes found the sneaky cache!
TFTC RoddyC! Green Heart aka FP for this one! Smile

(btw, have you fixed the question for w yet?)

Darn! 5 days late I've just noticed that I still have this blue question mark on my map. I checked the cache page and see that I have all the workings out in my Personal Cache Notes but I've not logged the cache. I must have been called away to do something else in the middle of the logging process. So I have the benefit of appreciating the beauty of the location again and I re-remember this location today as I'm logging. I enjoyed the puzzle as it certainly makes you learn of the progress and process of establishing the original property and lake and dam here. It is a fascinating read and leaves you in awe of the hard work the early settlers had in developing this country. The solving was easy peasy compared to the finding. A very sneaky and evil hide here that I think we were very lucky to find. [xxI]. Thanks RoddyC's (I think)!
