No hope in hell to get near this cache, fenced off and heavy security warnings re trespassers!
I did attempt to complete this cache but got stuck 100 metres away from the gz. Maybe this should be taken offline until it is accessible again.
Today I explored Auckland on foot and covered over 20 km.
I discovered a lot of beautiful places and could find a lot of cans.
Some of them I did not find.
It was a nice, long, sunny day and I want to thank all owners for this.
It was a great pleasure for me to cache here in Auckland.
Thank you and many greetings from Germany
from Pöni.

Easiest puzzle to solve and my first mystery cache in New Zealand. The difficult part was access to GZ. Glad I found it and I wasn’t deported...LOL. I saw my fellow cachers from last night’s event got it but mentioned the terrain was hard. I guess Saturday with no one working and the gate was open so off I went. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. The cache was in excellent condition. Now for breakfast at Pescado. Love Auckland. Visiting from Hawaii on my first trip here. Finally got a FAV Point and this one was so memorable. Fav awarded ️ Thanks funkymunkyzone. Nice seeing you again. Take care.
Fun find with SOB55 after having lunch at the nearby Fish Market. It took us a while to access GZ but made quick work of the cache once there. The route we took was closer to a 3.5 or 4 terrain. Thanks for the adventure, funkymunkyzone!

The gate was open and we strolled on in for a Sunday night cache grab! Plenty of fishermen about but none near GZ. Thanks for the puzzle and cool location. Think we just got lucky tonight.
Swung by and got this one today. Think they maybe reworking this area as there wasn't a fisherman about. See photo

This cache will be out of bounds for the next 3-4 weeks while construction is going on.

Thanks Jags - both times I had visited to check on this one, it was too busy to do so.
We were in town for a Sunday morning stroll, and detoured to find this one. At GZ there was a fisherman, so we waited for him to return to his car before diving in to located this one. We were with a previous finder, who confirmed the cache has in fact gone, so we replaced it with a magnetic mint tin.
No idea - stinks to high heaven . Can’t see it on any ledge or shelf - owner needs to check and to do a CITO !
We thought it was easy and being lucky with it being so empty. Searched everywhere near for 30 minutes and after exhausting every possible thought had to leave.
Unser letzter Tag in Neuseeland.
TFTC

On our 47th and unfortunately last day in New Zealand we stayed in Auckland. As we have a very late or rather early departure on the 14th we had a full day to spend. Weather looked great in the morning so we went for a walk and some caches in the lovely park. Later on we went to the harbour side and looked at the hustle and bustle there.
This was another mystery that made us sweat. But in the end we had the coords and could find the box. Had a little chat with a fisherman who wondered, that since two years people come to his spot!
We truly had a great time in New Zealand, saw so much more than what was written in the travel books and therefore a big thanks to all the cache owners from which we found caches. You showed us so many great places and provided so much information. TFTC and greetings from Switzerland

Was in the area with family from overseas. On previous visits there were always loads of people but as we drove past this time there was no one around! Jumped out the car for a really quick find, log signed, cache returned and we were back on our way.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
While visiting from Ohio on the *Viking Orion,* I was able to get out for a brief geobike ride around the waterfront. I had solved this one on the flight over (the only one like that I was able to actually get to this trip) and despite the presence of fishermuggles at GZ, I managed to make the find when nobody was looking.
We were not sure if we got the right coordinates but luckily we did. Our name is in the logbook now. Thanks a lot for this solvable mystery.

A day in Auckland for some business has always a bit of spare time to look for a cache (or two...)
Even me could solve that puzzle yay

If only all puzzles were like this one!
A few people around the GZ but they were minding their business and I minded mine.
I did go straight to the hint but that helped me get in and out again without arousing suspicions.
Thanks

Well we wanted a puzzle so this was it. Chaos in the city, no where to park, cops were everpresent but we managed to get this one.
In between work commitments, I managed to get out and find a few caches today. Nice one! Now that's a puzzle even I could solve... Out and about near GZ today so went to look for the cache. Had to be patient as it's a very muggly spot. Had to wait for a fisher muggle to move on before I could move in. All good once I got there. TFTC, Biggles.
Tftc for the nice wee hide found with abcdf4 was pouring down in huntly so went to aucks to get some more caches.
Got this one today second time here No muggles around this morning, and one more for our Hidden Creatives
Nice and easy - heaps of muggles so had to he careful but got it eventually! TFTC
Yes, I solved a mystery cache. It was easy, so what?
A fisherman was fishing right in this corner, as a I was standing there, just observing possible hiding spaces with my eyes, since I am very, very stealthy... The fisherman asked me what I was doing anyway, and he told me he was wondering about all these people standing exact in this corner staring and obviously looking for something. Some of them were even about to climb over the quay wall. I explained Geocaching and while I was reading the hint to him, HE found the cache. Nice encounter. TFTC

Its been a long day, but its still daylight, and of course there is always time for one more
With gorby, who tells me I have to do this puzzle, for my D/T grid (yeah nah!)
So here were, somewhere, anywhere, trying to be stealthy (had left my invisibility cloak at home). So many muggles, but decided this mission is a go, and gorby soon has the cache.
We walked for hours to find the cache, that we both now need a lie down. Thanks FMZ for the puzzle and the hide, my last find for the day

Out and about with rustynz today. We have walked 8 hours solid around Rangitoto and my legs are feeling it! We got off the ferry at about 4:45pm and I'm wobbling around, not sure if it's due to the ferry crossing or it's just me!
So we wandered across the road to Downtown Carpark, picked up rusty's car and I had suggested coming here for another look. Safety in numbers .. you know! As we arrived there were 3 or so people fishing, so rusty, being the professional cacher she is... started yakking to them while I did the dubious thing searching places I hadn't searched before.... aaahhh... there you are!! Why didn't I find it before, so obvious now. So discretely I took the cache away for signing while rusty was still engaging the fishermen. I replaced the cache as such, tapped her on the shoulder to let her know business was done, and off we went as happy little chappies! So glad to finally bag this one FMZ!

Took daughter back down to uni for the week and GAR cam with me so we could walk the dog and do a sport of caching. This was our first stop. One muggle there we explained what we were doing there as he asked. GAR located the cache container in a spot I should have thought to look but didn't. Thanks for placing FMZ.
We were lucky today as there were no fisher-muggles near GZ today so the coast was clear for a quick find. With this rare event I made the most of the quick find, sign and return. Thanks for the placement
Saturday morning. Another very early morning hunt for caches leading up to my 6000th. I came here 3 times in the dark this morning, people seem to just either fish here or sleep or not sleep, this corner is always busy. So finally, I tried to search but all to no avail, I see since it has been found so another day….
An easy solve, but not so easy at GZ. Even this late at night there were fishing muggles right at the spot, so didn't even bother stopping.
I had wandered this way a few months ago but there were too many fishermen around to search for the cache. We were in town tonight doing a bit of owl hunting and decided to drive down here on our way home to try our luck. The last fisherman was packing his car so we took a few photos till he left - the bridge was lit up red for ANZAC so worth taking photos of. Once the area was clear it was a nice quick find. Definitely an easy puzzle, thanks.
Found at 14:21
This "puzzle" confused me a bit at first because I thought it couldn't be that easy. In the area today and with no fisherman at gz today I was able to search in peace for a minute 'til I found the cache.
Thanks funkymunkyzone for the cache.

Shucks... no luck for us on this one today. We entertained some local fishermen, tho' and we all enjoyed a few giggles. So sad... We thought it would have been great to have this one as we live at N 49 W 97!
No giggles for the CO when visitors show muggles, including fishermen who don't care about our game, where the cache us and it then disappears. What seems like a laugh at the tine results in work for for the CO. If it is missing again I won't be replacing it.
Out today after-work with evilno9 to clean up some geocaches in town. Took a while to get it out but we got there in the end. TFTC
Looking for a cache to knock off today and with the sun out being close to the water made the most sense. Able to park nice and close here and made a quick find of the sneaky cache without any bother. Signed in and away again in no time - TFTC
Woohoo, a FMZ puzzle I can solve. Ryan was out and about in town today and picked this one up for the team. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache
I was working late again last night, so decided to make another visit here on my way home, around 3:30am.
Very pleased to find no fishermen, muggles, or anyone for that matter, near the GZ tonight, so quickly set to trying to locate the cache. I had to try and not look to awkward when the security guy drives past, but had parked my car right up in the corner where the local fishermen usually park giving me a bit of cover.
After some searching, and widening the area, I still kept coming back to the same spot.
Having noted some logs mentioning it can sometimes be hard to reach, I tried another angle. This change in perspective proved correct, and at the right view the cache was visually spotted, but it was still well beyond the reach of my fingertips. Frustratingly my attempts to dislodge with a longer ToTT only caused the cache to further retreat.
Taking a step back, and pondering how this seems to becoming more difficult than the D1 rating I wondered if a more lateral approach may work. After a wider search around the GZ I came across something that may help to test this theory further. Still a bit dubious with this method, I was delighted to discover that when applied using a well known physical constant, the cache was finally compelled from its hide. Once I'd signed the log I replaced in a more reachable position.
So happy to get a smile here after several visits past the GZ, gets a FP for a fun cache, cheers

I swung past here at just after 3am this morning, on my way back from work. Couldn't believe there were still two fishermen there, even at that time of the night. I will need to come back at a more sensible hour....
Hello from Canada. Your bus did not stop long enough to get this one but beautiful area!
Took us a little time to retrieve cache needed a special tool as it was a little out of reach. Signed log Bay Raiders
Philip.Perry, FapandGap, Squirrel nutcase and myself are up in Auckland for the event and a few caches .

11.50pm - On another mission to Auckland with Bruce, Hemi, Phillip and myself. Tonight we are logging as the Bay Raiders. We had several puzzles to collect and visit others so hopefully Night Challenge will be completed that we are working on. Idea was to meet in Hamilton and travel in one vehicle. We found our first night cache at 11.45pm and last one at 5am next morning, then it was back to Hamilton for an event cache. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, and Philip.Perry... We collectively signed the logs as Bay Raiders... Night caching.
Sunset: 5:23 PM
First cache: 11:45 PM
Last cache: 5:25 AM
Sunrise: 7:30
Mr Davidson had been planning this trip for a while, and it was a no-brainer to be on board. We had a very tight route plan organised, and a lot of different caches to hit to satisfy a variety of challenges we are currently working on... This 'gift' puzzle required a special tool to retrieve. An over zealous hand probably put it almost out of reach, but ingenuity won the day. TFTP and TFTC.

After the O Canada event, I hitchhiked with pazzabella and geocchi to get this one. It took a bit of effort to avoid the closed streets and the market before we arrived at GZ.
The three of us looked for a few minutes in the obvious places before we checked the less than obvious and found the cache. TFTC.

I've been trying to solve this puzzle since it's been released. Since I couldn't manage it, so I resorted to getting the answer off Agazo. I still don't get how he did it?
Taking an afternoon, after work, walk before I catch a homeward bound bus over the bridge. But not before I make a detour an attemp to sign off on this solved puzzle. It didn't take very long before the lightbulb moment happened with this puzzle. Anyway, after taking in the view at GZ I found the hide in the first spot I checked. Not sure I buy the D1 rating though; cache is not in plain sight. Still, nice spot, doable puzzle and a quick find; cheers for the puzzle cache placement!
While in the area today we came looking for this puzzle cache. Our first attempt failed as there was a fisherman right at GZ. We came back later in the evening for a second attempt when the area was free of muggles, had a good look / feel at what we thought was GZ (it fitted with the hint) but no joy for us tonight.
A rather fortuitous Trade Me purchase has brought us to Auckland, conveniently I've turned this into 2 days of caching as well
This was a DNF the last time we were here but after reading the logs it seemed like a good time to return as it was missing last time. The cache was found in the obvious spot after explaining geocaching to a completely uninterested nearby fisherman. We actually struggled a little to clear the cache of it's hidey home, lucky I was accompanied by my small fingered child. Cheers FMZ, TFTC.

After missing the FTF on this by a few minutes on my way to an errand on the shore, (met harisree on their way out) I put this in the solved pile (and boy, what a solve!) Was in the area in the wee hours of the morning with my brother adam_argent who's over from England. We were Pokémon hunting but found ourselves right next to this so popped out of the car and retrieved, signed and replaced. No fishermen at this time. Thanks for the bonus cache for the night!
No problems with the puzzle, but there was a fisher-muggle right at GZ blocking access. Could not get to it.
Edit: After reading previous logs it seems the fishermen know about the cache and are fine with it, so I could have just explained to then what I was doing. But I didn't dare do that at the time for fear of endangering the cache.

Just noticed that this has been replaced so popped down in the early hours before the sun came up and before any fishermen arrived for a quick PnG exactly where it should be. TFTC
Finally managed to find a time without fishing people parked right next to the cache. Found an entirely new cache in place with new log sheets, thanks for replacing it so quickly! TFTC, glad to finally make this one a smiley!
Bennett24's log reminded me to post this... yep, cache replaced.
PLEASE use stealth!!!

Lange gerätselt ... sehr nette Idee! Auf der Fahrt von Northland zum Lake Taupo hier kurz angehalten und diese Dose geloggt. Vielen Dank!
The puzzle was too complex and we couldn't even get a lead on it. We decided to test the given coords but no luck there either. On the up side - the city was preparing for some street racing I assume - I've never seen so many cars get towed! LOL. Also... joking... but not about the DNF
Came in to town on a rather blustery night tonight and spent a little while at GZ before spotting the obvious place for the cache to be. Thanks.
A lunch time stroll and thought of finding a cache, no co-ords but remembered this came up a week or so ago so rushed out of the office yup there was the cache. Damn forgot the pen so picture of signed log as proof.

Visiting for the day on Ovation is the seas. Beautiful day and lovely ship. TFTC. Great pictures from here.
Met the fishermen and found the cache on my lunchtime walk today. They were amused to meet another one of us, not giving anything away, and impressed that I found it reasonably quickly. I forgot my pen, but luckily my new friends lent me one. TFTC.
Cripes that was a hard puzzle. In the area today to make a nice quick find. Beautiful morning at GZ. TFTPC
Anyone out able to help me with this solve??? Been struggling with it for weeks now [?]
Argh took ages to solve this puzzle only to get to gz and people are fishing right at gz. No cache for us today.
The world's simplest puzzle, but not the easiest find, as GZ was muggle central today. Luckily for merlot58 and I everyone was too busy admiring and taking photos of the enormous beast parked up in the harbour (the huge cruise liner Ovation of the Seas) to pay us any attention when we extracted the cache, signed the log and returned it to it's hiding spot.
No problems with the puzzle but we picked the wrong day to come find it! GZ was manic with people who were using it as a vantage point to check out the world's biggest cruise ship. But in a way it was good as they were so busy looking at the Ovation of the Seas they didn't notice me pull the cache from it's hiding place.
Can't believe I failed at the worlds simplest puzzle; with people parked and fishing right next to it couldn't get anywhere near it. Next time.
Since I was in the area this looked like a nice place to take Albert the geohound for a walk and provide cover for a spot of geocaching. I'm not going to look a gift puzzle cache in the mouth so took my solved coordinates and walked down. Still just before 10am here so perhaps a little early for the fishermen, my brother says fishing is rubbish on really bright sunny days anyway, so perhaps that was it.
Looked in a couple of places and then spotted what looked to be a good place to hide a geocache. Sure enough that was it. How does one find a hiding spot like this? Years of practice I guess.
Signed the log and put back, muggles all at work still I guess so no problem. The vista is so good I lingered for a couple of minutes to take it in before Albert started to insist we move along, so move along we did. Thanks for creating this solvable puzzle and for bringing me to this spot. FP added, lovely start to my summer holiday.

Yeah, it's a super easy puzzle, but finding the right time to grab it is difficult! I've passed by a number of times since this was published, as this is right along one of my morning running routes, but the corner was always occupied. Even tried a few other times of day when I had the chance, but never saw it empty. Tonight, I was returning from work pretty late at night, so swung by to see if late night was the key. It was! Found the container in the 4th or 5th spot I checked. Nicely hidden. Thanks for the easy puzzle!
After hours working on this puzzle, I finally had my calculations right. Needing a walk after a beautiful dinner and cocktails nearby I headed down to gz. Was looking forward to meeting these legendary fishermen but all was quiet. Great puzzle.
Found on penultimate day of 3 week holiday from UK. Had fun conversation with a Maori fisherman. Found quite quickly. Tricky puzzle.
Thanks for placing.

Mr Coblet was having lunch nearby so decided to go for this one having proudly solved the clue a few days earlier. Upon arrival at GZ retrieval was looking problematic due to the presence of two fishermen who appeared to have settled in for the day but just as he was about to leave it for another time one of the fishermen said "Here comes another one".
An amusing discussion with the fishermen followed revealing that they had met some previous cachers and knew exactly where the cache was hidden, but weren't going to give it away, taking on the dual role of cache guardians and cheerleaders.
Mr Coblet began the search as the fishermen provided moral support but after searching for a few seconds a fisheries worker suddenly pulled up to see what was going on. But this was a well informed worker who knew all about Geocaching and seemed quite pleased to hear a cache was nearby. He then busied himself ensuring the fishermen were complying with the relevant rules and regulations while Mr Coblet made the find.
An unexpectedly enjoyable experience finding this one. Hopefully future finders will have the pleasure of meeting the fishermen. The cache is well looked after with them at GZ. Thanks for the placement.
