Heading home to Ballarat after a day in Geelong and decided to head this way. Parked across the road from GZ and over there, started the search. Took a minute, but when the right tree was checked, the cache was in hand. Nicely done....

Thanks for the cache McPhail family...fav point for the smile it gave me.

Tftc. Quick find

21-Sep-22
A quick trip to Bannockburn today to meet with Mr Dromaniax's parents. We all find Bannockburn a great halfway point between St Leonards and Ballarat.

We took Joey, our small geomobile, and had the geodogs, Teeny Treek, Mini Michi and Gypsy Girl with us. They love a road trip, no matter how short.

So after a picnic lunch in the glorious Spring sunshine, and the geodogs having a good run around, we wanted to grab a cache on the way home.

We really enjoy all the caches we have found in this series.

So we headed to find this one and tick another off the list.

We made a quick discovery at GZ .

Thank you for this cache McPhail family

Got a day out caching today and have explored around Bannockburn with the kids. There was another car parked next to this cache and I thought I would meet another cacher but there was no-one around, the first to find has left their reward on the tree. TFTC

After finishing up in the Bannockburn Bushland Reserve we finished the day on this one in fading winter light. For me it was almost a DNF as I was duped by the hint, but fortunately Jacko came to the rescue with a relatively quick find.
Thanks, McPhail family.
I'll need to return for the "eighth day" cache to finish the series - the *Eleven Days of Caching* just doesn't have the same ring to it Smile.

***

I first cached in Bannockburn in 2013, and last cached here in 2016 when getting a FTF on the "Twelve Days of Caching" series. Almost five years later now and I returned with Jacko and the boys to finish the series. It was an enjoyable afternoon driving and walking around the area. One cache was unavailable so I'll have to return for it. We ended the day with - coincidentally - 12 caches found and no DNFs.

15-May-21
Man, did the hint lead us astray! Searching, searching, hang on...what's that? Looks like a...what's this....ahh! Clever! Last cache for the day, sun going down, home for dinner now. Thanks for a great little afternoon around Bannockburn.

Found after a short search, cheers for the cache and the opportunity for some caching fun.

Another day out caching with My caching partner Omegaman1971, today we were joined by The Empire and Snap Happy to tackle a few caches, the Cluedo series being our main area for the day, lots of fun and laughter was had long the way.

This was one of the caches we did on our travels.

Thanks McPhail family for the cache.

Much better this week.
Didn’t take too long to find this well themed cache. Just what we expected.

#1834 - 11.30pm
Out on a very enjoyable road trip with Heymissjo, when we decided to have a final flirt with Unlove before calling it a night.
Our first attempt required a 600m hike, so we switched to this drive-by instead.
BAM!
Despite the dark, Heymissjo found it quicker than you could say, "It could be anywhere!".
We adorned the log with a couple of signatures and cleared out the Unlove.
Thanks to the McPhail Family for this quirky cache. I hope you guys recently enjoyed a very special Christmas and New Year.

Decided to grab some caches today.
This series was started a long time ago - so it must be time to turn the rest into smilies. Loved the idea and some of the containers were awesome. Keep up the great work.

Firstly, apologies for the lateness in logging.
Despite my tardiness, you can be assured I enjoyed each and every cache found and not found.
Apologies if this is a generic log, my memory is good, but not that good.

On this day I was out with Sorceysal and Tessie the geodog

Thanks McPhail fam, nicely themed

04-Nov-18
Out and about with Bogonghazy and geodog Tess for a days caching around the Bannockburn and Inverleigh area.

Last one in Bannockburn before we headed out of town. Thanks for placing this series McPhail family

Counting down as we approached, we managed to park right near GZ. This was a nice festive little hide, the first time I have seen one quite like this!

Thanks to McPhail family for placing this cache.

19-Oct-17
What a very different yet again hiding spot and another very well planned an implemented cache that is certainly very appropriate for the theme of this great series. Unfortunately this is our last cache find for today but we will return to see if we can find more in this series.
TFTC McPhail family - we have so enjoyed finding some of your very well made and different cache containers today - it was much appreciated - thank you!

Another one today that i couldnt reach with my wheelchair. Stayed in the car while my friend wandered over with my head torch to find it. Soon had it in hand to discover another plastic log that i struggled to write on. Managed a WH with the date and left it at that.

Nice camo, great series. Thanks McPhail family, found with vaja1 today.

24-Jun-17
Heading slowly back toward Ballarat after picking up a few mystery caches in Geelong with gemmasistema we decided to grab a few in the bannockburn area.
A well themed cache thanks but the parking was a little risky.

23-Jun-17
A geo road trip to Geelong with wozzle68 saw us stop and pick up a few caches around Bannockburn. Cute little cache here! Many thanks for the cache

16-May-17
We spotted this one from the road. Great decorations. A quick park and grab is always nice. TFTC

09-May-17
With pleasant weather, we decided to head to Bannockburn for a day of caching. Many thanks to the owners for placing and maintaining the caches.

09-May-17
Headed into town for a couple of hours of caching with Ketchthor. Didn't know much about the place until we arrived - it was good to pick up some local knowledge as well as the caches. There were quite a few roadworks going on - and some kind of Police road check in town, both of which prevented us accessing some of the cache locations. Never mind though, we still found a few. Thanks to everyone as usual. Your efforts really are appreciated.

13-Apr-17
Out of the afternoon and some caching.

Quick find

Team Autumn out for some school holiday entertainment. Quick stop for the last cache of the day. Had to get over a large puddle (4 time as I forget the pen) but did so without the feared muddy bum. TFTC

22-Mar-17
Cool, Found this cache while out with Suss Vulture. TFTC Cheers

"O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum, wie treu sind deine Blätter!"
Yes, this one does come from our home country, live and with real candles, which is fine in the northern winter but not too practical in the hot summer of Victoria.
The camo was quickly spotted and the log signed.

06-Mar-17
The last one in this series for us today - 11 finds and 1 DNF.

The hardest part of this one was waiting for a bit of a break in the surprising amount of traffic - as soon as one car was nearly past, another one would come from teh other direction! A quick grab/sign/replace once things calmed down a bit and we're done for the day.

Thanks McPhail family for this series.

jandaw's 529th find

14-Feb-17
I arrived here and took one look before consulting the hint, which was spot on.

11-Feb-17
The GeoKids no longer have ballet on Saturdays and so after six years we have our weekends back! Hooray! GeoHubby and I were keen to do some caching and I've been wanting to complete the Twelve Days of Caching series so we planned a small trip to Bannockburn. The GeoKids are tired and grumpy after the first two weeks back at school in this hot and humid weather, and were not exactly pleasant company - I'd say they increased the Difficulty on each cache by at least half a star. Fortunately GeoHubby and I are not prey to emotional blackmail (giving or receiving) and have a sense of humour and we managed to complete this excellent series and even enjoy it!

Our second last one! GeoKids are staying in the car so it was great that this was a quick park and grab!

Log signed and all replaced as found.

TFTC!

09-Feb-17
Last one for the day and soon had it in hand. Nicely themed yet again.
Thank you so much for all the pleasure you have given me on this a McPhail family day in Bannockburn.
Was tooted as I was returning the log. Not sure what that was about.
TFTC and the fun.

16-Jan-17
Our Christmas tree always looks over decorated, and then we have to slim it down (much like we need to do with ourselves - caching is helping!).

This cache was a cheeky hide. Will helped me extract the log. Very tricky!

Thanks for surprise!

16-Jan-17
Ok, So like true cachers poppet_93 and I could not resist just one more as we head for home.
We will be back to complete this series when the weather is not so hot.
Till then "Happy caching" one and all.

16-Jan-17
Way too hot to be out caching, this is mine and Lacinta's last cache for the day. Another joint find. We will be back at a later date to finish off this wonderful series. TFTC.

And the final scores....Me 6, Lacinta 5.

9th find for the day.

15-Jan-17
I managed 11 in this series as I do not possess the right technology to do your wherigo.
It has been a fun journey and now it is time to head back into town for a couple more finds before lunch

11-Jan-17
With the weather cooling a little I took the opportunity to work my way through this series with a great variety of hides and locations. The final cache for the series and I had to giggle after reading the hint. Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the awesome series McPhail Family

Monday Night Date Night part 6 (the last). I found the cache within seconds, but we tend to have a courtesy to step away and let the partner find it independently. SueHut could tell I'd found it by the suddenly casual stance and the determination to look in any direction other than that of the cache. I must have done a good job, because she then spent a few minutes looking where I was trying not to look, which in fact was *not* the direction of the cache. The more she looked, the more flustered she got (after all, this was meant to be "a quick park and grab"). In actuality, the whole time it was less than 50 cm from her face... except she looked in nearly every direction *except* directly at it! It was a serious struggle to keep from LOLing! Thanks heaps, McPhail Family! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and I wish you a most excellent 2017.

02-Jan-17
Not having found any in this series, I sent a message to Na'wal, asking if he was interested. It turned out to be perfect timing, as he had a free night. So once he finished work, I headed out to meet him in Bannockburn for the hunt !! We jumped into one vehicle and proceeded to search for all of the 12 days of Christmas. Yet another aptly themed hide. Signed the log and moved onto the next. TFTC McPhail family Smile

**Smile # *4409* / Traditional # *3352***

The stars aligned after the geo wife decided to spend a night with the geo kiddies and granny's hose so it created some free time for caching. Then I received a messaged from DAB if I was interested in the 12 days of Christmas series. LET's GO! So we teamed up once we were both in town and off we went. We were now back onto the Christmas series. Interesting location for a cache, not easy to park and a few cars about still tonight. Found quickly with a torch. Stamped and returned as found.

**Thanks for placing this trad and series McPhail family**
**Cache container and log in good condition**
**Took nothing, Left nothing**

Holiday time usually means, friends, food and fun! Today we headed north west from Geelong, where we found a smorgasboard of cleverly designed, well constructed and maintained caches. Thank you to all the CO's for satisfying our addiction today! It actually looked as if there had been a party around GZ - hope it wasn't geocachers!

Our thanks to McPhail family for placing this cache.

28-Dec-16
Suscoe headed out this afternoon to catch up with a few caches in the Bannockburn and beyond region.
With the rain falling steadily this morning we thought that a trip in the afternoon would be a good way to catch up with some local caches.
So after lunch and a few post Christmas jobs out of the way we decided to venture out.
When we left home it was 31 degrees. When we arrived at the first cache in Bannockburn it was 38 degrees, sunny and with a wind that was as strong as any wind should be.
Spotted this one pretending to be horizontal.
Best thing to do on a day like this one.
Not one swan a swimming anywhere near here today!

A favourite for this series, a big thank you to the McPhail family for the work put into this series.

Well done to you and we have enjoyed the trips to Bannockburn over the past week or so.
We cached by ourselves and with the great company of others. Thanks to everyone who we met and found caches with during the release of this series.

Time to head home and cool down now!!!!!!!!

20-Dec-16
I was on my way to work yesterday when this one was published so I had no chance to get there for the first to find Sad
Today I had and RDO so I was in Bannockburn for the eighth day first to find Smile so I thought I would take a bit of a detour on my way home to Lara and drop by this one.
Yep this is a nice easy park and grab just find the log book is the difficult part but not that hard.

Thank you McPhail family for an entertaining series. No Bannockburn is all smileys again Smile, until tomorrow

20-Dec-16
Found by Mary & David at 1640. Finished the series so far - until our next visit - and now we're heading to see our Geelong daughter and dinner together. We've had so much fun, entertainment and Christmas cheer already. Our thanks to McPhail family.

19-Dec-16
Pulled up close to GZ , then waited for the traffic to pass by before starting the search. Had no luck initially but then decided to look from a different perspective and found the themed cache cammo straight away.
Very appropriate indeed.
Thanks McPhail family for another xmas cache , we love the variety.

I was getting breakfast from the shop around the corner from work when this was released. I jumped in to the car a fly up the road to get there as fast as possible. At gz found Bushfire and Mooochie for another joint first to find. I to leave quickly and only got to work with minutes to spare

The early morning gathering was a little smaller this today but then it is a work day for some.
Neville was the surprise as he was on his way to work (North Geelong) when the alarm went off so he must have done some low flying!!!!
Once again great to see most of the mooochie family on site all bright eyed and bushy tailed.
This location surprised me because it is completely different to all the others but at least is is closer to home.
Seven down and that means only one thing that Christmas is just around the corner.
Cheers again to the McPhails for placing these different caches and I wonder what is in store!!!

JFTF bushfire, mooochie, neville_devil

The work alarm went off, we hadn't quite made it out of bed then the geo-alarm went off, YEP we're up now!! Now to get the geomonkey out of bed - this could be a challenge. Called to her a couple of times "the 7th day of Christmas is up!!" "The cache is out!" and she's up!!! Success! We made it to GZ to find bushfire on the trail already, then neville_devil joins us for yet another great Christmas find! TFTC McPhail family!
