We hunted high, we hunted low but cant find the cache anywhere. Well hav e to come back another time for another hunt. Hopefully more hints are posted by other cachers.
Looked all around for at least ten minutes, maybe our eyes are deteriorating with the daylight
GPS was bang on! Uni Holidays which means geocaching! Wanted to get all the caches on this path! TFTC!
We found what we assumed was the likely cache hiding spot and a couple of extra looks we soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC.After spending the morning with some friends I meet up with Lis's Crew and spent the afternoon caching in/around Mission Bay and surrounding areas. What a great way to spend a sunny summers day.
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Todays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and mostly Saint John's. I did say there was a good Fish and Chip shop for dinner in Mission Bay. It turned out to be Saint Helliers. Oops! No wonder I had trouble spotting it in Mission Bay, lol.A bit of a scramble into the bush here. Glad Yvette spotted it. Now to head back to our car via #1 in the series. Thanks for the variety of hides along this cycleway
A part of Auckland I haven't been to for quite some time. I enjoyed a stroll along the walkway this afternoon. TFTC
Found it! Need to start carrying a pen on my runs apparently! Wil sign off next time.
Skipped #3 as people were nearby tending to horses. Feared for my chances with this one as the clue indicated my nemesis hide-style and there were so many possibilities, but after following the compass, I looked up and it was right in front of me! Thankfully this one’s not too leafy! Thanks for the dingle-dangle cache!
Had sometime on our hands this weekend with EyespyBen after a Wet week Great Big walkway
Nice easy find thanks
Nice easy find thanks
Over this way filling in time whilst E1R-0T was at a master class with the NZSO, and decided to take the bikes along this trail....parked at the begining...or the end.... and made the find.....
TFTC.
TFTC.
Second one on the trail today, will have to look at doing the rest another day. Thanks CO for the cache.
Glad to find this one as I am usually very bad at finding hanging caches! Helps that it is not camoed. Tftc . Nice walk on this sunny spring day.
I really enjoyed Sunday stroll here and collecting well placed hides.
GPS bang on! Can be sneaky ....

Had some extra time before an appointment for work. Why not pass some time searching the area. Quick Find. TFTC
After experiencing success at number three I climbed further up the trail to find number two. Initially I searched the wrong spot. Then a few more after that. The GPSr eventually lead me to the correct GZ. Maybe I should have paid attention earlier? Still took a few moments to spy the little fella. Hardest find for me in this series. Cheers for the cache placement!
Got the bike out for these - harder going back as it was uphill, no rain, managed to avoid showers today. All the caches were fun to find, many thanks.

Got caught up admiring the interesting fruit of a tree near GZ. Enjoying this series, TFTC!!
Always takes a while to spot this kind of cache. Once we’d established we had the right place it was a matter of calmly looking. Eventually geohubby found it. Tftc
Needed seven caches this afternoon to “see out the year”. This was one of them, all in this neck of the woods. Found this one very quickly. #2187. TFTC.
Lunch time outing to collect the last of the GI2TD caches. Sun shining and I had the path all too myself. Not another soul about. GPS took some time to settle around gz but once sorted it was a quick find which was surprising as we normally struggle with this style of hide. Daily cache sorted - TFTC
I doubled back to grab this after walking along here for another cache. Took a while to tune the eyes in.
Found after a quick search and waiting for the GPS to stabilise. Will need a new log soon but in great condition. Tftc.
I had a quick look for this but decided to come back to it on my way back from GI2TD. I came back with more inspiration and made a lucky quick find second time round. Tftc
Walking the GI2TD walkway this afternoon collecting a few more caches to boost today's tally. Wandered over to GZ and spotted the cache after a brief hunt. Thanks.
GPS playing a few tricks here, but soon narrowed search area down and had cache in hand pretty quickly...cheers V.
I'm back in Auckland again, for one of my regular visits. On these occasions, Friday mornings usually finds me sitting with a coffee and my laptop, thinking about where I might drive to today to do a bit of caching.
Well no sooner than I'd powered the laptop up, I find an interesting post asking for help with a joint effort to grab a cache at Bastion Point. As it turns out, I'm not very far away from GZ so I jump in the car and zoom off to make the search. That was a the start of a bit of a mini-hunt for me this morning, as having found that one, and being in a part of Auckland I hadn't previously visited as a Geocacher, I wonder what other ones were around here?
This mini series of caches was on my way back to base, so it was an easy park up courtesy of Countdown supermarkets and then a walk along the pathway to the various GZ's.
This was a relatively straightforward find, courtesy of a good Hint and using the "if I was placing this, where would I put it?" method. The container and logbook were in fine condition, so it was a quick sign and then everything was replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Cats&Dragons and myself have been eyeing up the "Choose your hard" series for a few months now, and we were both on the same wavelength that many eyes are going to make this much easier. So we put out the call and HPG, Kyb3r and Alpenmilch80 joined in for the fun. The general plan for the day was to focus on the "Choose your hard" series then grab a few harder caches in the area.
Found while hunting for dots.
A big thanks to all the CO's for the placements, we signed all of the logs as HOAC.

Out on a dot hunt with Cats&dragons, HKCB, Kyb3r and Alpenmilch80. Signed logs as HOAC to save room.
This was a nice little trail that we were close to so decided to stop and grab some other finds while out on our hunt.
A bit of a hunt before this one was found but with this many eyes it wasn't long before the cache was found

After my work meetings were done for the day, I returned to this walkway and found a few more caches. That was a bit tricky as it wasn't where I thought it would be on first approach. Checked the hint and my GPS and managed to spot it after a close inspection. TFTC, Biggles.
Nice one... couldn’t see the wood for the trees. As soon as we stoped looking we found it no pencil so didn’t sign the log
This was our second find, took a few minutes to spot.

Had been looking forward to today all week with another goal in mind to try to grab a few Auckland based caches that "obviously" needed collecting (as it would just be right). So at 4am I met up with RWIMF for a good days caching and an over ambitious plan (Home by 3.30pm). We signed most of these with "RWCD" or some such variation there of.
So today I managed a grand total of 54 finds (only 3DNF's) and plenty of conversation. All I can say for the days activity in Auckland was that traffic was all good till just before 10am and absymal for the rest of the time until we started heading for home so that I could still get some chores done for the day.
We moved the car to be close to the end of the line and walked back. This is one impressive cycle track and a LOT of earthworks and engineering has gone into creating it, Only in Auckland I say. This one took longer than it should have but got their eventually. Now its time to start heading back and towards that need for cafine. The cache was in great condition all Good.
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

I'd received a message from cats & dragons asking if I wanted to do a mission. I'd said sure at the time, but could I have a rain check as I was overseas at the time. I arrived back in the country on Monday, and so the adventure was planned for the following Saturday. I said I'd be happy to start early, as long as it was my early not his - so we negotiated a 4pm pick up
Caching in Auckland in the early hours of a Saturday? Quite easy, but things slowed down drastically when the traffic really got started about 10am - which is about when we got to this cache.
We hid in the bushes while a mum and son muggle cycled past. the boy was having a few issues with gear selection. Admittedly I was having a few issues with gear selection walking back up the hill to get my promised coffee.

Wow, such a beautiful winters day, I just had to collect the kids and the dog and do these dog friendly caches. The kids now have their own caching profiles so are super ready to add to their numbers thesquatch143 and CadJam.
CadJam ran on ahead in order to have the first advantage of looking and found it in quick time, replacing it I had to look quite hard even knowing it was there, thanks for the hide gernita. Starting to notice a little more rubbish lying around.

Out with WildTulip and thesquatch143 and the dog to pick up the caches along this walkway. Thanks for the hide gernita.
Out having a stroll this afternoon and picking up some caches along the way.enjoying your variety of caches and seeing the different wildlife.this one was a bit trickier for us but we got there in the end.
Was on the pathway this morning in the pre-dawn darkness and after a wee scramble, made the find. TFTC
Not as tiny as other logs would have us believe. Was well hidden but found it quickly.
Loving the variety of caches along this cycle way, and the horses and pukekos around. This was wasn't too hard. Previous logs and gps were very helpful! Tftc
I was up in Auckland for a conference, and I decided that I have had enough sitting for the day, so went to find some caches before dinner! Thanks to the rain that was coming and going, there was a beautiful rainbow! TFTC!!!
Today I approached finding this one after parking the car up on Saint John's Road, instead of walking in from the Countdown end. It was a nice sunny day, and there were heaps of people out walking along the cycle way. It dawned on me at this point that as of yet I haven't actually seen anyone cycle on this cycle way, but rather I have seen heaps of people out walking on it. Anyway, after enjoying a nice stroll down the hill I found GZ quite easily. And I also found the cache quite quickly as well. So after signing the log, I was on my way back to the office again - nice. Thank you once again gernita for this series.
Trying to salvage an otherwise unsuccessful day.
Beautiful weather to be on this new path.
