No luck for me today. With no muggles around I thought I searched all areas well, but perhaps not well enough. Will have to try another time
Found it. Kids were so excited but didn't quite understand the secrecy of it all. We had a wonderful time walking here but unfortunately didn't have a pen so we took the photo as proof of our find!
DNF —
Couldn't find yesterday and searched for some time in the blazing heat.
Spot was dead on with the map, not just GPS but the stairs on the satellite map too, but this one got me stuck! Thanks for getting me out to this sight!

While out with my bushing club I made my excuse and came back to look for this one. a bit under pressure but got of the platform and check and could not find it. Next time?
My third day on this lovely island. Continuing to discover it via geocaching and having an interesting time as I go. The Forest or Forrest Cave duo were also on my target list but never a friend of caches on steps as they seem to elude me or be overrun with muggles. However the tide was right and the area muggle free so made for a relatively quick find TFTC BorisB&Natasha
Nice stroll with GeoFamily (HonkeyDonkey and ToTo) with the assistance of GeoFriend DonutHoles.
Decided to check out Forrest Caves and get a sneaky cache or 2 if I'm lucky. This time I was in the presence of my best mate Memorychip and his geokids. This cache was an easy find but it's a shame I had to pick up rubbish around it to access. Thanks for the cache!
Very many muggles. Had to catch our breath for quite some time waiting for a break in foot traffic. Good spot. Thank you
Still a bit of a newbie, have had a brief look on 3 different occasions whilst child wrangling and it still evades me
Finally dad finds one!
We forgot a pen. But what a great cache in a beautiful spot.

Back for another go at this trad cache after tagging the nearby caves earthcache. Glad we gave it a second go - good little hide! But we forgot the darn pen... again.
Another day-another caching run!
Since the COVID restrictions have eased in regional Victoria we have been trying to do a weekly run with caching mate Rebel Acts. This is our fourth outing, and unfortunately the drizzle looks set to make things a bit miserable. Our first 3 days were beautiful, mild and with a light breeze. We are living in hope that the skies clear and make it more comfortable, but this IS Victoria.
As in the past we will sign many of the caches RASP.
Mr SKI found this before the other two had started the climb down to the beach

With restrictions lifted in regional Vic I once again teamed up with SKI Pair armed with My mask and Sanitizer, Today we headed over the hills to Phillip Island where we had a great day exploring the Island, the weather was four seasons in one day, but that did not stop us. There were quite a few challenging and novel hides in the area. this is one of the caches we found today. I used to come here all the time as teen, there were no steps then and the slog over the dunes used to be a killer. With stuffed knees I was a little slow up the steps today and Mr Ski had this one in hand before we arrived.

With some muggle friends so didn't have the time to search long. Next time
Also - which left?

Having just completed hiking the Woolamai Circuit we came in search of this cache - we certainly made hard work of it as when we finally located the cache it was exactly where we had both searched before! Oh well, as leave we finally found it! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Ducked up between showers took some locating but got it finally. Love Forest Caves it’s my favorite spot in the whole Island. Stamped log thanks Borisb&Natasha for the cache.

*Smiley # 10017.*
*Cache find # 9972 + 45 Lab Caches.*
After spending a bit of time on Churchill Island at an event and finding a few caches, we then returned to the larger Island and then went on a quest to find some treasure.
I headed down to this one next where a quick find was made due to the excellent coordinates.
**Thanks to BorisB&Natasha for placing this cache.**

Found this on a bitterly cold day. Thank you BoorisB&Natasha for placing this cache.
I came here with t00thpaste. This was our final visit in Phillip Island and it was to the Forrest Caves. We went past the Moonah trees and got to this boardwalk. We looked up and down the boardwalk but could not find it. We looked up the hint. And still we couldn't find it. I found two golf balls. I found some rubbish under the boardwalk. But no cache. Oh well. We have had lots of fun finding your caches over the last couple of days. Thank you for making them available for us to find.
Out this morning, grabbing some caches before my family woke up. The last 2 days have been perfect weather but today I got very wet! On my way down to the earthcache I grabbed this quick find. Tftc!
We have come to Phillip Island for a couple of days and we are staying just down the road, this was our first stop of the day we have never seen the caves before and have come a bit too late as the tide was coming in. We will come back again tomorrow morning. Cache was found easy enough, signed and replaced. TFTC
One of our last for the day was a little sad but we were excited to see the caves huge fail high tide there was no way we were getting into there today, hopefully we can time it right tomorrow and hopefully get the earth cache done at the same time, cache was out a little so i rehide it so none the white paper can be seen by anyone. Thank you for bringing us to another great location.

Coming back from the Earth Cache, I took a seat and let the geo hubby handle this one. After about 10 minutes of searching, I grabbed my phone and found it immediately:)
Thanks BorisB&Natasha. Beautiful views.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha. Beautiful views.
Took a few minutes to find but eventually widened my search and found where the clue said it would be
What a beautiful view. Didn't go down to the caves. Found the cache easily enough.
This cache was picked up enroute to the Earthcache nearby that GJMMelb had already found, but thankfully this cache hadn't been and being a nice spot they didn't mind revisiting the Caves The hint meant I was able to quickly spot this one which was a plus as the muggles were out in force today with the weather being perfect for the beach and surf. TFTC
We decided we would find the Forrest Cave caches before lunch so continued on to here where the cache was quickly located. After this we headed out to the Earthcache as q1 hadn’t done it yet. This was my favourite time of the weekend walking along in the water to the caves. I got my beach fix and I was happy. Lol

A great walk along the beach with cousins and rock folicing. A quick find and off we went. Didn't have a pen to sign.

A few days on the island over the Christmas period and the opportunity to find a few caches what could be better. I stopped here briefly on the way down to the cave, but it was on the return trip that I unearthed the cache. I made sure to replace the cache exactly as I had found it. A favourite point from me location, location, location.

On holiday from NZ and heading back into town after a day out at Wonthaggi and decided to stop for a few caches along the way (as you do).
After visiting the forest caves we headed back this way to the car.
Had a good look around and used the hint but no luck for us today.

Looked where the hint said for good half hour doing plenty of digging just in case. Nothing for us today.
So glad to find this w the geopartner after a beautiful drenching at Forrest caves. The sky is the same colour as the sea- beautiful. Pristine beach, paired birds, divine! Thanks for the fun- great camo!!
Today was time to get out the geocycle and travel along one of the many routes in the area so today we found 23 traditionals with 8 DNFs it was not a great day but it was a good day for a ride but those DNFs bring the day as a whole down but thats caching (Cache Blindness) or they just werent there only the cache owner knows which is the case. The other option is the lack of GPS accuracy using Iphone as GPS wasn't preloaded before going for the ride.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for placing a cache in this wonderful location however even with that hint it illuded us on this occasion so another frowney fo us on this one.
Grand Cache count = 842 total consisting of 757 Traditionals, 24 Multi, 14 Mystery, 4 Earth, 2 Virtual, 6 Event, 2 Werigo and 2 Letterbox.

The family was headed for Forrest Caves and I was able to make the quick find, sign and return in between the foot traffic headed out at low tide.
Cheers BorisB&Natasha, thanks for the fun.
Cheers BorisB&Natasha, thanks for the fun.
With geogold4 geokid who spotted something that he thought was not the cache until it was extracted from its hiding place. Thanks B.B. and N for the cache. We had a lovely afternoon on this side of the island.
Found at 12:42 PM GAFF3..
Haven't we been here before for another cache? Yep - we remember now. A "Not drowning" multi that we did in 2008 - that's 9 years ago!
Lots of muggles so just had to look at the hint, which still made it a bit tricky to locate.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha.

We didn't have time to wander all the way up to Forest Caves, maybe another day, but the view from the GZ was great. There was a lot of people leaving the beach at the time we were looking, but we were able to fit on the stairs and look. It took a bit before we found the right spot and located the cache. Thanks, another great spot.

great place to discover. The natural clay was so much fun. The camouflage had us 'stumped' until we were ready to 'leave' then we ''branched' out and found it.
I have bever been to Forrest Caves despite driving past here on many occasions. This was worth the wait. We got here just before the tide was coming in with gusto, and had a lovely walk along the steps to the caves and back. We stopped to look for this cache on the way back to the car. My caching senses were off so I left my muggle partner to make the find (quickly as it would happen). Love a sneaky cache! TFTC!
Took a day off work today to join the Kids excursion to Phillip Island surfing. I arrived 3hrs early, as you do, and explored as many local beaches and short walks that I could. Some amazing beaches around here that I gave never been to before, and plenty of rocks which I love clambering around. Any off to assist with the surfing now, but maybe a few more sneaky cache later on this afternoon. TFTC
Finally getting around to logging all my finds, time has just gotten away, sorry for the delay. Found with Katnat2. My son is participating in a challenge (The Rotary Junior Community Award) with his school designed to get kids out and about and he choose to do geocaching as the sport component. tftc, really enjoyed the walk along the beach, next time we will visit at low tide.
Was recommended we find a Boris & Natasha cache on our travels today, happy to find one at the forest caves. Took a few minutes to make sure we were in the right spot and quickly found the hide but no cache... took a little moment to find it loose, signed it & put it back in its right spot. TFTC

*After a morning walk around Cape Woolamai, we set out to tidy up some unfound caches showing on our map before heading home on Friday*.
With the cache quickly in hand, of course it meant more time to spend watching the waves in their powerful action.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

More steps. A little care was required as there was a group of surfers standing on the steps a little below GZ. Fortunately we were able to wait until they departed. The search took some time but eventually we were able to find the cache and sign log. TFTC
Suscoe headed here on the way off the Island.
The boardwalk has been replaced since our last visit.
Impressive structure.
A few surfuggles we heading back to their cars.
The waves had been good a little earlier.
Thanks to BorisB&Natasha for an enjoyable walk on a beaut Autumn day.

I thought with everyone back and work and school back too, that it would be quiet on the Island today, but that was not to be. We decided to tackle the Treasure Island caches, but met up with dozens of surfies at the cache locations, but we still managed a few caches for the morning.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for this cache placement.

Getting sandblasted in the high winds while signing the log but got there! Great view!
Now that we're both fit again we are resuming our regular Wednesday caching trips. Today we're continuing with the Treasure Island series where we left off last week. Again the morning is dull & we were able to find this cache without hindrance.
Today was my monthly outing with Biggles Bear, this time joined by Kiwideb. We headed to Phillip Island to attack the new Treasure Island series. We didn't expect to finish (and we didn't), but did a couple of extra caches along the way. Used the clue to avoid being spotted by any muggles around.
My thanks to BorisB&Natasha for the cache.

09/01/2017 - 9.16 pm - No. 809 - 4th of 10 for the night for me - with Wal-len & Surefoot24 on our evening "let's get some new ones" trip that was vaguely organised at the evening event on 7th Jan. It was a work night for me so we started off after we were all free about 7pm. We all enjoyed the cooler than "damn hot" it had been a couple of days before! I did quiz Len on whether we were going to do gentle stuff instead of hard slog stuff, she assured me that we would be doing the gentle stuff. I guess stairs are "gentle" ??? Finding devices were still being good and directed us to where we needed to be.
We found, we signed, we returned it to it's home & then we sat with the sunset colour fading in the sky to watch the Shearwaters doing the air antics, they were probably just flying but there were a few about & I decided it was nice air antics. Thanks for the walk/drive/climb up & climb down to places I have never been. I even managed the bridge boardwalk in the nearly dark, not being able to see "down" worked & treat & let me go near the edge instead of staying in the middle. We even managed to hear the growl/cheep/whatever the noise was from under a bush or two to indicate a nesting site. Thanks for the cache.

Up the stairs. Down the stairs. Then Wal-len put her hand down and produced the cache! How lucky can we be? Then we sat and watched the Shearwaters. A perfect end to a great evening of caching with Wal-len and CB2014.
Found with Surefoot24 and Ceebee2013, the Bass Coasters struck. Sat and watched the Shearwaters flying in then walked back to the cars and headed home. TFTC

Found with tassie expat. Had to back-track a couple of times but most of the time was spent admiring the amazing view. Thanks for placing this cache.

My last find for the morning wasn't for the feint hearted, on the wrong side of the island in Westernport Bay, I made my way past Silverleaves before turning right and heading for land, the motor was humming and the tail wind helped the pace, as I hit land I was airborne (for anyone that has seen me, getting airborne is an impressive feat) the tinny sailed high as I held on tight, then the landing was a picture to behold, the down slope of the dunes at Forrest Caves, It slid to a halt next to the boardwalk, the bottom ripped out, outboard at right angles, this boat ain't going nowhere. I headed up the stairs and something grabbed my attention, yep there it is the final cache I came for with a bare log. What an adventure!!
THanks for the opportunity to find some FTF's. These got me over 100 FTF's.
