As I had the day free I decided to pick up the few unfound caches I had in Ambury Park. With the tides right I got no muddy feet and made a nice quick find

I liked this cache a lot because it seemed to be in the middle of the sea. I got the nz tides app, and found out that in one hour it would be low tide. So, we got ready and walked down to the beach from our lodging. Wow! Breathtaking views, and cool lava rocks in the water. Loved every bit of this hunt. Tftc!

Yay !!!!
Thanks for placing this New Years Cache FMZ !
Had an adventurous walk over...as I tried taking a shortcut over the mud , across an inlet !
My feet disappeared up above my ankles...and my sandals got sucked off !
Anyway...lucky the tide was right and it was a quick find ...
Hope this year will be good !!!

After finishing work in the city early I headed for home, got changed and then went for a walk around the newish caches in Ambury Park. I didn't realise this was a tidal cache but lucky for me the tide was out far enough that no more than the soles of my shoes got wet or dirty. Zero'd in on the cache OK. Can certainly understand the cache sentiments. TFTC, Biggles.

Tide was still in on arrival but I didnt want to bypass this so off went the shoes and into the water I paddled. Water was just over my knees so not too bad. GZ found quick enough but nearby oyster catchers didnt like my presence as they must of been nesting nearby.TFTC

We were on My Eden watching the Sky Tower Fireworks when this was published, was out this way today doing a Bike/Cache trip, this was our last as the rain was getting closer. Thanks for placement.

Mountain biked to within about 10 m of the cache, the sheep prints were quite handy for determining the muddy patches and avoiding them.

Gorgeous spot!

Actually, 2017 is already much better than 2016!
We took a nice walk around the park, and since the tides were right, we stopped to get this one. There was a noisy bird not too far away from GZ, so I took a few seconds to make sure I wasn't disturbing its nest. TFTC.

Rabbits and birds were quite scary

What better way to start 2017 than with a 2017 cache. Out with Okayness and we were next after Davidson clan (we could see footprints!)

LOL found it but after kiwiscot and Gorby

After working night shift on NY's eve made a last second decision to give this a go on the way home. Had already determined that the tides were good and was soon jogging down to the foreshore after parking up at Ambury Farm. Took note of a warning sign and put a fence in between me and the boss. Hopped the final fence, ditched the footwear and made my over to the cache. Surprisingly not as muddy as I was anticipating. Quick find and pleasantly pleased to see a blank log sheet and our 1st (FTF) of 2017. Great little spot and an enjoyable place to visit. Spied a very recognisable figure in in the distance as I was walking back across to dry land. Wished Gorby a Happy New Year before heading back home for a sleep. Cheers everyone and may 2017 be a great year for you all.

Now the adventure continues FMZ....
Ok, I had *some* sleep while hovering around Northland for a FTF that I got at 2:04am. That really refreshed me then a coffee then I was about to head out to Maraetai for 2 possible FTF's. Along the motorway I got notification that they had been picked up by the C.O's father stevecox.... anyway, I came here instead, checked the low tide times... all good. Parked up and wandered the 500m or so almost to GZ. I never saw any bull in the paddock I was walking in! kiwiscot19 might have seen a sign, but there was none the way I came! I never saw him (the bull) but got to the corner of the paddock and was about to try and jump the fence that had an electric wire attached. Then I spotted someone returning from where I thought GZ was. I didn't recognise the fella, but soon did: it was kiwiscot19 and sure enough, he beat me to the ftf by just a few minutes. Oh dear, that's how it goes. he tells me that he was working in this area last night, hence a quick find by him this morning. So we chatted and so I carried on to GZ regardless, a little dejected I had missed the ftf but still though, this an awesome place to be, early hours of this morning! Stunning scenery. Thanks Chris for the hide, a nice little adventure all the same.

I like your graphics on the description btw, nicely done! I had an excellent year in 2016, so 2017 can be whatever it wants to be!
