The hide type didn't work here so I'll archive it and someone can make a better one at this interesting site.
Hi tommygun9
This geocache came to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either fix the problem or archive the listing, after picking up any geo-litter. See the maintenance section of the [Geocache Hiding Guidelines](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance). In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled this cache page.
I've added this cache to a bookmark list, and I will check back in four weeks or so to be sure that the maintenance has been done, or that an explanation has been provided. If the problem persists, I will need to archive this cache page for lack of maintenance.
Regards
The Coddiwompler

While the menfolk were shopping, a quick stroll in the sun to a great point of interest. And the tree - a whau tree isn't it, that only grows this far north and has wood so light it was used for net floats? Love the hide! Many thanks for a fun and interesting hide!
We're staying in New Plymouth for two days. Some of us go caching, others go hiking.
I walked along the Coastal Walkway and looked for the caches. This was the first one. T4tc

Good location. Now we’re off to the end of the jetty. Found it easily enough after a bit of furtling around
Down in the area for a few days visiting family and enjoying the Coastal Cycleway, interspersed with a little bit of geocaching as well. Nice Spot. SL. TFTC.
Spending the day in New Plymouth and a bit of time to kill before tea. So a walk along the walkway and a couple of caches. Quick find once we were at the mine. Tftc
One of seven caches we located on our ride on the coastal walkway today. Good bike ride on a sunny day but glad we started at the Bell Block end because the wind was rather strong, and it was better to have it behind us going back. Took two or three minutes to figure where this one was hanging out. #2217. TFTC.
Cute find on a post-coffee wander. Thanks for the information about the sculpture and TFTC.
Searched for a little bit then GigiEV came up trumps! She’s getting real good at this. TFTC
Found on a early morning foreshore walk! I’m good at finding these type. I must be the right height for them! TFTC
Nach Ankunft in New Plymouth haben wir noch Bewegung gebraucht und sind daher am coastal walkway unterwegs gewesen. Dieser schnelle Fund kam uns dabei ganz recht.
Here for a few days with a cycle group from Tauranga... and to get a few smileys while we are here. This was our first cache - always interesting history. Fun to tow an unexploded mine in to shore! The path was very busy tonight, but the cache is well placed so no problems. Cache is all good. TFTC
Down in New Plymouth for another weekend so I’m keen to pick up a few caches. I’ve noticed some new ones since I was last here so I’ll see if I can collect some starting here. TFTC
This was the tenth day of my twelve day trip to go to the Wellington Mega. I am heading to New Plymouth by the coast route.
After checking into the holiday park right above here, I walked down to find this one. TFTC.

On the board walk to get a few caches for the day. This is a very busy place so could only collect between muggles. Signed and returned
I had permisssion to log this -as photo proof- BUT as when i searched it was missing but i took a photo as proof of being there but i find i cant log this . Can i now some how please log this?
Couldn't find it. Tree looks well dug around. Reckon it's been flooded out . Needs to be checked/replaced.
Victim of the very high tides a couple of weeks ago!!!! AWOL! but took photos of the mine all shiny! But i am now logging this with Photo evidence and CO permission
Looked with GPetone while cycling along the trail. No luck at all. An interesting object so TFTC
Found the spot where we can only assume it should have been. Think it may have been pinched by muggles.
Quick find with a little help...
Thanks for hiding and greetings from Germany!

My grandson, DragonDefender, and I were staying at the nearby Caravan Park when we went for a wee walk down the hill to this cache on the day we arrived.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Beautiful day for a walk along the foreshore! Couldn't get a nearby cache as too many muggles, so glad to get this one! TFTC
rustynz tells me I need to catch up with all my logging!
A 3 day weekend of fun with a group of Westies (rustynz, gorby, jag58 & merlot58)
Sorry for the generic logs. Thanks to all the CO for the hides, and the adventure

Doing a bit of a walk along the coast to find a couple of caches, and this one certainly could shake rattle and roll
Thanks for the history of the naval mine, and how its been turned into a piece of artwork with the words "reflect collarteral damage"
Out finding a few caches on our last day in New Plymouth, thanks for the cache, the log signed Team Westies (merlot58, rustynz, rebel98, Jag50 and Gorby)

Team Westies x 6 of us, converged here to take in the sights around New Plymouth for 3 days. Passing by this cache as we walked along to do the multi so stopped here as well. Shame about war, but it's reality for many people still. Cache easily found with many people looking for it.
Quick find with Found with Team Westies (Merlot58, RustyNZ, Rebel98 and Gorby) on a walk around the coast. Lots of muggles walking passed, but they took no notice of us.
I was visiting New Plymouth for the weekend with a few other Westies from Auckland. A nice quick find here, we signed ourselves in as Team Westies
Another good find with jackeesback on a road trip today.

Great find to get us back into the swing of geocaching. First find in a while. Beautiful day yet we were all alone on the path! TFTC!
Out for a bike ride along the walkway. We have stayed just above here at the campground. Neat views. Tftc
night time find, off after work with gem had take a ways at the water front then out with the torches for a find, was awesome walking under the stars with the water crashing into the rocks, nice easy find TFTC
Had an awesome adventure on the way there, took a wrong turn and went by the rocky shore. Unfortunately the forgot to bring a pen/pencil but I swapped 10c for the marble and took a photo for evidence...
Had a group walk there, went along the costal walkway and turned in the wrong place so had to walk along the rocky shore! (Pic below) was very easy to find and although I forgotten a pen/pencil I swapped 10c for a marble and took a pic for evidence
