No luck here today, and going by previous posts, may need a bit of attention.
No luck today. We decided not to hang around looking as it hadnt been found for a while and there was at least one bit of evidence in the tree that it could possibly be missing. We also wondered based on a couple of logs if it was now ground level - but I guess we will let the next cacher figure that out . If we are ever in the area again we will try again - hopefully with a bit more time to spare.
Biking from Haumoana to Clifton grabbing a few caches. Had lunch at Hugge, recommend. Tftc
We travelled to Hawkes Bay from Taupo today, and it was quite an experience to witness first hand the damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle. We are staying in an airbnb not far from here, and with some time to spare before we check in we are finding some of the local caches.
A quick park and grab here for this one, thanks.

We camped near by and this was our third stop as we make our way towards the Gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers. Should be an epic day!
It took a little while to spot this one, and then we wondered how it took us so long!
Thanks for putting this here

Found on a walk along the beach while my brother is surfing. Haven’t been to this beautiful spot before. Forgot my pen so took a pic on the log. TFTC
Wandering in Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay between Easter and Anzac day. Found it on my route.

Another nice quick find here thanks TheBrightSparx. I have had the privilege to visit many of the specially named beech caches from the previous finder. TFTC # 18,272
Im a tree hugger especially native beech trees. So just had to stophere to see whats up. Left my calling card. Cheers.
Day 16, Friday 4 February - Napier - Te Awanga - Clive - Napier. Picking up the last couple of GTs and a few others in the vacinity. Then out of town to Palmerston North for the night for a sleep over with my friends the Etherlord kids. Lets move Toby and Lenny!
Zara, Toby, Lenny and I are on our North Island expidition for a couple of weeks. Got The Seagnoid along for the first 4 days, heading to the Auckland Mega. PWGTs and TMGTs are on the radar for this trip. Lots of driving on gravel roads and visited lots of amazing places on our 6000km road trip snagging 200+ caches along the way. Visiting Cape Reinga, Bay of Islands, Gisborne and White Rock along our journey. The highlight cache for the trip was GC815zh Journey to Pandora (night cache in Ack) Another awesome trip. Thanks to all CO's.

A long overdue visit to this area specifically to look for caches - I usually cycle through with a group. I replaced the sodden, unusable log strip with a waterproof one. TFTC
Was almost muggled as we were looking for this. As mentioned by previous finders it is neither spherical nor colourful, more like a pill bottle. The log was so wet we couldn't sign it but took a picture if needed as proof.
Neither colourful nor spherical but definitely a cache at GZ, a little waterlogged.
I manged to retrieve the cache without distubing the spider web. Dex +2 required, or a dislocatable wrist. Probably would have been a lot easier from the other side, but the challenge was fun!
I was supposed to go to the mega. Which got postponed, so I cancelled my arrangements, but labour weekend is still a three day holiday... but car hire was too expansive. So I decided to make it this weekend for a road trip to Napier, to mop up the TM- and PW- GTs there.

We’ve been to the end and are now caching our way back out.

Hugged the tree. Got derailed by some rogue fishing line hanging. Not colourful now, not where expected. Tftc took us way longer than it should with set ideas where it might be.
This was our second find on this stretch of the bike path - it started as a walk along the beach but turned into a walk along the path. It took a few minutes to find - it wasn't what I was expecting but was quite typical. TFTC.
A quick grab (in between the constant traffic). I am a bit amazed at just how busy this road is, especially for a Wednesday! Log is very wet, but could probably be dried out within 30minutes. Sorry but I didnt have the time as I'm heading for home after visiting the gannets this morning. TFTCs through here.
And there is it waiting to be found. Enjoying exploring this beautiful area. Thanks for the placement
Found in tree base all good Its my first visit to Te Awanga..but must say I have sampled some of the wines ..nice easy find here thanks for the tidy placement The bright sparx
With two more caches beckoning further down the road we set forth. One of the muggles with us found this one. The cycle trail is very busy today so we have to have our wits about us, especially the electric bikes. Thanks for the placement
One of nine caches located today (not including the four credited for an Adventure Lab late morning) on day 7 of our motorhome summer holiday to Hawkes Bay. This was one of five caches we found on a bike ride in the Clifton Road area, not far from our base for the night. Took a brief moment to spot this one. #3691. TFTC.
#1355. Second of the Clifton caches found this afternoon after grandson’s cricket, with geo granddaughter and GB Leader. Easy find but hint is not quite correct, should be cylindrical not spherical.

Staying at Clifton beach campground for 4 nights.... yesterday I walked up Te Mata peak and back down the long way and really lucked out with the caching by only successfully finding 1. Today I am up early and out on my bike as the others want to head into Napier shopping...so I have to be back by 10.
Tucked away here - no trouble for me.

A bit if searching but we soon had the cache in our hands to sign, then return as found.
Out and about with AliGle today, exploring the area on a couple of hired bikes and looking for a few geocaches along the way. This took a little bit of hunting as the hide was different from what we expected. TFTC!
Staying in the Hawkes Bay with Vistra for a few days and grabbing a some caches in the local vicinity. Today we hired cruiser bikes and caching on two wheels. Hoping for a wine stop or three. Took a bit of hunting to find this one as it was well hidden.
Have come from Tauranga with a cycling group to do some of the amazing trails here. And for us to get a few smileys whilst we are here as well... Another easy but surprising find. Cache is all good. TFTC
Thanks TheBrightSparx for the cache. It’s #1340 for us. We found your cache on 10 November 2020. Quick find but it doesn’t exactly match the name anymore!
Found the replacement cache container and signed the log.
Jude_E, NosyNel and I are continuing on our figure of 8 tour of the North Island collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time. TFTC.

Travelling around Napier today with Nosynel and Ethness. Our goal is to find all the TMGT caches in a big figure 8 across the centre of the North Island. Perhaps this is a replacement cache. It wasn't like the description but many people have logged it so we did too, S J.E.N. Thanks

We signed this cache as JEN. ÀI am on a North Island Figure of Eight tour. For the first 4 days I spend time in the Bay of Plenty with my husband JDScout in Rotorua. Now I am on part one of the eight loop going around the Eastern Cape. This part is being done with my good friends Ethness and Jude_E.
Thanks TheBrightSparx for creating this hide. It was find 8990 for me.
======== NZ Mega 2021 ========

The lockdown has lifted, but with our International wings clipped, a domestic road trip is in full swing.
Thanks
Thanks
Today we rented bicycles to go from Napier to Clifton. Unfortunately the tide was not good to visit the gannets, but we had a nice lunch close to the ocean. On the way back we searched for a few caches. Thanks!
Having left Isla at home and travelling around NZ on holiday, we stayed close to here, so popped out for short walk and to collect. No problems here soon found. TFTC
Away in the camper for a few days doing TMGT. After overnighting at Clifton Reserve we headed on down the coast and stopped to get this one on the way, which we DNF'd last year at the same time. Successful this time. Not sure why we missed it last year, not looking in the right place probably.
Thanks TheBrightSparx.
Thanks TheBrightSparx.
(# 5517). On a trip up to the Bay to grab a few caches and took check out a work mate who up here to play cricket for Wellington A. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Unfortunately the light this evening is fading fast so I was glad for a quick find which will allow me to sneak in one more cache hunt before retiring for the night. No muggle worries here.

#500 Finally reaching 500!!! Thought I'd never get here. Thanks for the making this possible. TFTC!
Container not so colourful as what we thought it would be! Found it on a ride with the family. TFTC
We are away in our campervan just cruising the manawatu to Waiarapa then on to Hawkes Bay and return. During our tour we enjoyed travelling the quiet roads away from the main state highways. we enjoyed the bike trails around the Napier to Clifton and the inland trails up to Hastings and beyond, many of these trails of course were extra special because they had geocaches placed along them. Many thanks to all those who look after the caches. We hope you enjoy the same when you come into our area.
Sorry about the cut and paste if you have more than one geocache that we had found

last day over in the bay, slowly making making my home, enjoying these finds with lovely weather.
thanks for bringing me here and taking the time to place the caches.
thanks for bringing me here and taking the time to place the caches.
It took quite a while to find this cache, despite its actually being in the first place we looked. TFTC
By the time we laid our hands on the cache, we were both so cold we were shivering. Hence our logs in the logbook are more like squiggles, and barely legible. ThanksFTC.
No longer a spherical .. but found in good order.

After so many DNFs and an indication it shouldn't be soooo difficult I put a replacement cache and log strip of an empty notebook page at GZ. I hope this meets with the owners approval.
Three DNFs in 5 months. Would the cache owner please check and confirm that this geocache is at its specified co-ordinates. Thanks
Left set off from home yesterday about 9am after Mr watcache finished work got some ;lovely caches along our way even took the time to do some bush walks even thought wet cold and windy it all adds to the adventure, went out saw the ranges with snow on them and then across to see the beach areas so beautiful its been great and now today been around town a little and then onto old mcdonalds farm now to get some other caches in the area.Wasn't sure what we were going to be looking for here, but Mr watcache had a quick find signed the log and placed it back where we found it. Thank you for placing a cache here. cache is all good TFTC
