I'm not sure I'd call these triplets, but checked anyways and found the cache. TFTC.
Spotted a likely triplet, but gps took me further along. Then it changed its mind & sent me back again. Same triplets Id seen & the cache was soon found. TFTC
Halfway through our first day on the trail. What a great part of the trail! Found this without too much trouble, using the hint. TFTC.
On a winter Roadie around the South Island, picking up the occasional cache along the way.
Found on nice wander out to Picnic Point and back

GPS was lagging a bit behind on this one. Luckily the youngest one spotted the triplets as we were riding along.
Great day for a ride with the kids and dad while picking up some caches. The kids stay really engaged and motivated having another cache just up the track.
Thanks for all the effort putting these out and maintaining them.

This afternoon we decided to ride a bit of this trail. It was a nice ride and we saw a number of groups of cyclists.
This was our turnaround spot for our ride today. Stopped the bike right beside the triplets so made an easy find.
Thanks for placing this cache

Weather isn't looking to great today with some rain every now and then hopefully not going to get to wet but the plan is to walk along the whole track to add to my 100km walked in January challenge picking up as many caches as I can find on the way and then walk back to the van. Saw the first two bike riders coming along the track probably a few more to come with the weather clearing up. Nice easy find here despite not quite seeing the triplets. TFTC

Found it! Honestly, no idea what the triplets being referred to here were, but we found the cache in any case. TFTC!
We looked at everything that we ould that might be a triplet with no success, maybe have to come back day.
Really enjoyed the bike ride through this trail. Some quick finds before the sandflies found us, but an easy ride, and was cool on a very warm West Coast day. TFTC
Out for a walk to pick up caches on the last day of the year.
A quick find.

Found with Kiwimykl. Today is the third day of our visit, and todays mission is to do the Mahinapua Tramway on our MTBs. Little did we know that this was also part of the WCWT, but we couldn't work out how the distance markers worked here. We managed to get all but one of the caches on this tramway and a lot of the time struggled to interpret the hints, even after we had found the cache. I apologise for the generic log, but with so many similar caches done in a short time, it is hard to write something individual about each one. Where something stood out I will try to mention it. It appears as if the triplets have grown a brother or sister because I'm pretty sure the cache was located by quads, and they definitely weren't identical.
Kiwimykl and I decided to spend a few days based in Greymouth between Christmas and New Years as a geocaching break from our greater family, who we are having three camping/caravanning holidays between 17 Dec 2021 and 24 Jan 2022. Over five days we cached the 'Grey' area taking in such places as the Larriken Track, Omutumotu Bush Walk, Mahinapua Tramway, Brunner Mine Site including both sides of the Grey River as far as Stillwater, Hokitika Gorge, Woodstock Rimu Heritage Trail, Rewanui Walkway, some Survivor series puzzles we missed on a previous visit as well as a few PnGs in between the various locations. Our logs were either in full or abridged to KM + ND as log space permitted.
Thanks to all to CO's who placed and maintained these caches, especially G7&M and H&H. However from the amount of pill bottles used as cache containers, we have serious concerns about your respective health and wish you all the best in that respect. As a token of our gratitude, we left a token of our appreciation behind which will become apparent in due course.

Our biking group rode this section of the trail back in March. It was so frustrating not to get the chance to find caches on the way, but of course I wouldn't have expected non-cachers to wait for me so I was back to retrace my footsteps today. It took a little while to work out which trees most deserved the title of triplets but after a little while I detected the most likely culprits and nec minute I was signing the log. TFTC .
We came to the coast with our cat Coco to bring home Mr C's cousin and have a wee holiday. Today we were dropped off at the Rimu end of track so we could walk to other end. A lovely walk today to bring us past these caches. We sure had fun here and missed the obvious triplets and went to another set lol. Then again and third time lucky we saw the correct and very obvious triplets, how we didn't see them first time we don't know but all part of the fun. Thanks for this cache gracie7 + Mum.

Day 16 of our South Island roadie & last day before we head home tomorrow. It's been an amazing trip & this days plans won't disappoint either. Perfect weather again, and we have a few things planned for today. First stop the Hokitika gorge, then the treetop walk (I didn't think this through, as I hate heights & this walk was a challenge for me!), a walk down an old tram line to Lake Mahinapua & an adventure lab at the Woodstock/Rimu heritage area.
An afternoon walk along the old tramline to Lake Mahinapua & a few caches snapped along the way. A lovely walk through stunning West Coast bush & the view of the lake at the picnic area, truly beautiful on a day like today I spotted the triplets & then the hidey spot soon after. This could have been a tricky find!

A quickish find here. This one was spotted by RG1972 while I was fossicking around elsewhere for the moment. All good here, TFTC Gracie7.
We had the wrong set of triplets at first - the right set really are triplets! Once we sorted out where we needed to be and read the description rather than the hint, we made the find quickly. TFTC
I had a free day in Hokitika today, so decided to hire a bike and ride out to Lake Mahinapua. Found this cache while riding the along the Mahinapua walkway, managing to find all cache along the way. TFTC!
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 117th cache of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we were now heading North, doing caches as we go ... good to add another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,851 for us.
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)

Cycling along this amazing trail collecting caches. Great way to spend a few hours. Thanks.
Second day of a two week motorhome excursion, heading via the Coast to the lower South Island, picking up a few caches along the way – 13 today. After enjoying the Treetop Walk, we decided to walk part of this very pleasant trail. A reasonably quick find. #3321. TFTC.
Out on the Mahinapua trail today to check on a couple of the Mahinapua Months and of course we checked on all the caches on the way passed aswell. All good here we just swapped the floral logstrip for a waterproof one instead. Happy Caching
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on the second day of our 3 day trip to Hokitika. We have our bikes with us this trip so are keen to bike some more bike trails on a lovely spring like day.
SW had already found the trackside triplets by the time I arrived at the scene, but he hadn't found the cache. After investigating some other possible triplets, (GPSrs struggled here) we returned to the first set. As a last resort, I read the cache description, that's when I saw that the cache was on the opposite side of the path - quick find after that . TFTC.

#18399. Made hard work of this one, as initially we were looking too close to the triplets (thankfully the triplets were pretty easy to spot, which was good as our GPSr's were struggling under the bush cover). Eventually Troodles read the cache description and realised it was a good idea to search on the other side of the track. TFTC.
While I checked one set of triplets Nanzie found the cache at another. TFTC gracie7 + Mum

Didn't find this one, alas - my GPS was acting up and I couldn't figure out what triplets were being referred to. Ah well, it was the only cache along this trail I didn't find so that's not bad
Found on a three day caching journey over to the West Coast. We really enjoyed the challenging hours spent in solving the many puzzle caches and now the signing off on the log books. We had a great spell of weather as we traveled along the many roads in the area. Many thanks to the various cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. TFTC
Nice find. Biwer original sends Greetings from Germany and thanks for the Cache.
Cycling the West Coast Wilderness Trail over a few days.
Our final day today. We stayed the night in the Ross Top 10 and then rode out and back looping around Lake Mahinapua.
No mozzies today. Yay.
We overshot this hide. It took a bit to zero in.

Searched for the triplets for the longest time as it wasn’t obvious. The gps was playing up for the first time in this forest. Actually found the cache before looking over and seeing the triplets. Thanks gracie
Heading back to the car now and just picking up the ones we missed on the way up the track. tftc
Nana, Aunty Grace and my Uncle William were going caching and because Lucas was busy today I (Cyndel) decided to go caching with them. The first of only 2 cache we left for the walk back to the car. Uncle William and Nana were way behind us. The cache was hidden in a hole and I didnt want to put my hand in to grab it but Aunty Grace said it was alright.
Came for a walk here on an afternoon explore around the lake. No problems here, a fairly quick find. Signed log, TFTC.
From memory this was the one we had problems with, and hunted for almost 1/2 hr. The hint didn't make any sense at all, and if anything it was opposite rather than adjacent.
On a west coast road trip with the kids and niece hkbrom94 (over from England ) showing her the best of what nz has to offer .
After dropping our gear off at our digs for the night we headed out
Couldn't find on our way in so tried on the return I finally found it as everyone headed for the car tftc

On a maintenance run today to check on a couple on this walk so we checked on them all while passing.
The log was abit damp here so we replaced it with a floral log and doubled up on the containers.
All good to go here. Happy Caching

After doing the Treetops Walkway (highly recommended BTW), we drove to the start of the bike trail that we had cycled a few days earlier, mainly to get a better look but also to grab at least some of the caches I had missed then.
This one took a bit of time, but then I spotted the hide.

I'm thoroughly enjoying my walk along this lovely walkway/tramline cache by cache thanks gracie7 + Mum. TFTC # 13,031
Staying in Hokitika we decided to ride south on the West Coast Wilderness Trail returning via Ruatapu and SH6. Some drizzle but a great day with stunning vistas of snow on the tops. TFTC
Another beautiful day in hokitika.
Returned to complete caches that we didn't have time for last time. Nice easy find.

Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

Today was a day spent in and around Hokitika, with the weather mostly overcast, and only a wee bit of rain later in the day. Had a great time on some walks, and finding some puzzles and multis.

It was time to come around to the other side of the lake.

Finally it's time for a Christmas break and some time away from work. Time for Mrs KE and I to pack up our newly converted camping car and head out into the wilderness for a few nights. The West Coast looked inviting and there might even be time for some geocaching. If we can remember how to do that.
Once we located the triplets the cache didn't take too long to uncover but it wasn't in the first few places we checked. Nicely tucked away safe and sound.
Thanks gracie7 + Mum for the cache.

not sure if the mossies were following us or if there was a whole lot more here but they got me. TFTC
On a maintenance run up the track and continued to here to check on the status of the TBs said to be placed there by Beers_good. The container is a 100-150ish ml small jar only big enough for the log and (maybe) a SMALL TB but not 5! Sadly as we suspected there were indeed no TBs present.
We were using the phone and hadn't read the cache page properly so spent time on a fruitless search. I found it just as hazedarus read where we should have been looking. All good and log signed.
thank you gracie7 + Mum.
