Found after staying at Green Hill Lake campsite near Arrarat before traveling to our next stop-over at Inverleigh, finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache chooknchunk!
We continued our journey towards Adelaide stopping for a few caches along the way. A quick stop saw Mrs y'stassie hope out to make the inital search. She was alarmed to see the steepness of the bank to the lakes edge. Being rather lacking in the height department she was about to return to the car for the taller team member when she spotted a possible solution. She tried her idea and soon , after some tricky twists and turns she managed to get her hands on the container. Log was signed and container returned to its position. Container and contents were in good condition. Thanks for a well placed cache cooknchunk. There is a beautiful view of the lake from this spot. We have added a favourite point for a nice alround caching experience.
I found this geocache during a recent trip, however, for sme reason my log didn't automatically upload from my GPS as it is programmed to.Thanks for your cache hide and the effort that you put into maintaining it,
Got to GZ and the youngest monster went in search and found the cache within 20 seconds!! TFTC!!
Time for Mr. Lazy aka JTreeTrack2 to catch up on some logs. Sorry to the cache owners for the lag. I have enjoyed finding every cache I have found and appreciate all the effort that has gone in to placing and maintaining the caches. Hopefully I will find more caches and give a more timely and personalized logThanks again for placing the cache.
Found It!Spotted this one after a bit of wandering around in the bushes. The lake appears to be full at the moment.TFTC
Out for a bit of caching and a bit of birdwatching. LumpyR spotted the cache quickly and headed off to retrieve it. Negotiated his way around the dead foxes only to drop the lid down the embankment. After retrieving the lid, the log was signed and cache returned. Tftc.
Not sure I approached this from the right direction as it took a while to reach it, but all's well that ends well and my name was soon in the log. The nearby, long since expired kangaroo, adds that extra element to the find.
Thanks chooknchunk...as expected, the lake is rather full.

Day caching with sassieold55, nice to see Lake Goldsmiith has plenty of water, Cache no longer hanging so have tucked it amongst branches securely TFTC
I’m guessing water isn’t normally lapping the shore line like it is today. I almost thought I would have to dip my toes in the water for this find.

Found by Rebel Acts.
with it being School holidays in Victoria I had some time spare to head to Millicent where I teamed up with the Empire for a few days caching in the area, we had a fantastic time exploring the area.
This is one of the caches found on route to SA. No trouble finding this one, I enjoyed the view of the lake.
Thanks chooknchunk for the cache.

Swung past this cache today with some tools to clear the immediate area, however the general area still needs a bit more time to "air out" before we re-enable.
Temporarily disabled - GZ has been used as a dumping ground, not really suitable for caching just at the moment. Will reassess again soon.
I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! As the week nears an end it was time to head back, taking the long way home via a day in Beaufort and some events in Ballarat tomorrow.
After a longer than planned search at the previous cache I was looking forward to a quick find here. After parking at GZ I spotted something odd, and as I moved around the tree, more odd things. Oh dear. It appears someone has chosen this tree (of all trees) to be a dumping ground in the dark of not, without realising it is home to a cache!
I managed to get there and sign the log, however the area is likely to get worse before it gets better so a short hiatus is probably necessary for this one . Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Thanks chooknchunk for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Found it although geohubby slid down the gravel path at a rare of knots. His heart rate did the same but was otherwise unscathed fortunately. Tftc. Greetings from Adelaide
Found while geocachaching on the southern side of the highway near beautford, An easy find. TFTC
This cache was a bit tricky to get to by myself, but a good location. The given coordinates led me straight to the cache, but it required some gymnastics to get to a place where I could get the log. I dropped the iPad and other things I was holding and grabbed tree trunk and branches to get around to the cache. A few scratches needed attending to when I returned to the car, but little real damage. Great adventure in the end.
Out collecting smiles with AlexiKatty, and saw this one sitting there all green. Well I had to fix that, always good finding a new cache. TFTC
Making my way up the Western Fwy towards Beaufort for the long weekend and as I had left earlier enough I had time to call in to find a few caches and to hopefully pick up a few smileys along the way.
I didn’t get all that far till I spotted a few that I had missed on previous visits up this way at Melton
Decided I better get a move on after Melton and made it a bit further West along the Fwy to Miners Right.
So after a finding a few more there I eventually made it to Beaufort but turned left and headed out to the bush area.
Starting to head back towards Beaufort but still a couple to go.
Stopped off at the so called rest area which was littered with rubbish but it was still a nice view of the lake with some water in it.
A little bit of bird life was present and an interesting read in the notes about the lake.
Thanks chooknchunk TFTC.

Found by Mary and David at 09:55. Still some of water in the lake, but a very green area is evident. So many ducks , and lots of butterflies too. Our thanks to chooknchunk.
On my way to Beaufort for work and decided to collect a few smiley faces on the way. This is a nice little spot to have a rest and watch nature go by. It's a shame about all the rubbish in the area tho. There really should be a bin here. Thanks for bringing me here
We have sold the shop in Avoca, and we need to clean it out before we settle in a few weeks. We took a different route as we had found all the caches on the other routes we have taken to get to Avoca in the past. We had just completed the Earthcache down the road and noticed a green dot not too far away. We were able to turn it into a smiley relatively quickly. The cache was in excellent condition, and we removed half a dozen empty beer cans. Thank you for this cache chooknchunk.
The day started with a lite drizzle and a little windy, but turned into a perfect day to cache Skipton and surrounding areas in search of Trads, Multi’s and Earthcaches.
A quick find while I enjoyed the interesting aroma off the lake.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thank you to the previous finder for mentioning this cache was not how it should be.
Called past on the way home from work and fixed, so it now matches the hint again.

Not hanging but had a quick find. Lots of black swans and their signets on the lake. Nice.
Found this one on the ground with lid off. Replaced in the tree. Hopefully right spot. Tftc
A bit cold and windy to really enjoy the views of the Lake today, but we did stop long enough to find the cache. SL at 1.44pm Left: gold deer Pathtag #8120 TFTC chooknchunk
What an interesting description, we had noticed the slight volcanic rises in the area so now we know. We were using this track as a cut through to get from Bordertown to Kilcunda and back. Our first plan was to avoid the Melbourne area in case there was any Covid issues and we wouldnt be able to keep moving, seems like of all the places in Australia at the moment Victoria is the cleanest for Covid, must be a nice change for them.
We have friends who have Goldsmith as their last name but they are not linked to the Reserve at all. We saw heaps of swans today, they look very serene just paddling around, they nmust know they are safe there.
Thanks chooknchunk for the cache, good co ordinates and cache is in good condition. Found, signed and replaced safe and sound as found. TFTC

Find No. 3332. Found with FUF009 at 12.50pm.
In FUF009's ute, today we headed down around Beaufort, Skipton and Linton areas, grabbing caches that we still had to find in these areas.
Stopping in Beaufort we had a look in a couple of shops then went out to the footy ground area and had some lunch, before heading onto Skipton, grabbing this one on the way.
A quick find here with a nice sized container. Signed the log and off we went heading to Skipton to do the Rail Trail caches

The last day of our Vic/SA caching extra long weekend.
Unlike yesterday when I was out on the pier taking photos of the sunrise, today +Wife was up before me and raring to go.
We have a big day ahead needing to be back in Melbourne by 4:00 pm at the very latest.
A couple of Earthcaches left in Port Mac and a multi just out of town were our first targets for the day. *All targets met*
After caching our way from the most southerly point in SA, where I started the day wading in a Starfishes garden. We then made our way up to Mt Gambier and across through Hamilton to Skipton.
We stopped for a feed and a catch up with my best mate, Spud. [^]
Moving along again and we stopped off here to stretch the legs before we hit the freeway for the final run home.
I made my way around to GZ for a nice quick find on a well presented cache here at the Lake Goldsmith Wildlife Reserve. Everything in good order here chooknchunk. Thank you. Hopefully we will get to catch up with you guys soon.

TFTC! Kind of not a lake right now but I found a really cool little spooder with black spikes and a colourful body!
I drove to this one from the west skirting t he lake shore. Only water in the very middle of this lake.
An easy find at gz but noting the terrain rating I took care not to tumble down the slope.
Tnln. Thanks chooknchunk

With the Covid 19 restrictions being finally lifted we are able to escape the ring of steel and finally do some caching as well as some cache maintenance out this side of Melbourne.
Today has turned out to be a chooknchunk day, we haven't find any of their hides for quite awhile and now we have quite a few in today's outing. This one was in quite an interesting area that we have never bothered to stop at before. Once the GPSr settled it was pointing in a logical location and we found the container, then it was only a matter of retrieving it and having long arms here turned out to be quite useful and saved us having to take a more precarious route.
Once the cache was in hand we added our name to the log before returning everything as we had found it.
Thanks again chooknchunk for the cache,

Have not been geocaching since 2014. This is the first cache after a long hiatus. Great way to get myself out of lockdown and back into the world again. Thank you!
Found It........While up in the area collecting the Wherigo trail we picked up a few more. After parking the Geo Truck a quick search soon had us holding the prize, So with the log signed we continued our journey homeward. Thanks chooknchunk for the cache
Re-enabling now the Victorian Covid19 restrictions say we can "participate in some recreational activities, adhering to the rules". Please use common sense, maintain social distancing, attend to hand hygiene and stay safe.
Temporarily disabling this cache due to the Corona Virus.
Geocaching is not "essential travel".
It puts others at risk when you travel unnecessarily, no matter how isolated a cache may be.
Please stay at home.

Well, there sure wasn't a lot of water around here today. Always nice to see a change from the usual bison in a tree to have a regular container. TFTC
As in our normal, why take the shortest route when there are more picturesque ones, ones with less bitumen, ones not yet travelled by us or yes, even ones with caches on them. This was why we found ourselves out this way this afternoon. This was a nice quick find for us. Such a huge expanse with no water today. Sure that it is spectacular when it has water. Thanks for bringing us here and placing this cache.
The lake is extremely dry at the moment but still has some birdlife flocked closely together on the wet area.

TFTC. We were out and about chasing a long multi, Did not believe my co-rods but we were sort of in the area. Besides there are caches here. We are camped at Haddon and decided to cache out this way as the caches looked interesting and we had not been out this way before. A nice park and grab. Not much water in the lake viewing from here.
Nice quote park and grab on my way home from Beaufort. Watch out for swooping magpies. Tftc
Ooohhhhmigosh it’s soooo bitterly cold here this morning.!!!!
Slight detour the back way from Stawell to Melbourne today! Grabbing a few smileys along the along while hopefully allowing time to check out the new Bunnings!! TFTC

Checked this cache, and made a minor repair so it now matches the hint again. Thanks to all for placing carefully when it was previously found on the ground.
This cache was an easy find for us as it was sitting on the ground in all its glory. I suppose it had fallen out of the tree, which is where I placed the container after signing the log book. I buried it under a bit of "stuff" in the fork so hopefully this will hold it in place and not end up on the ground again.
Don't think there's been any water in this lake for quite a while which is a shame. Replaced the cache to where we thought it should be.

Out this afternoon to find some caches and see some rarely seen countryside this side of Ballarat before making our way to Beaufort for this evening's New Year's Eve event.
Easiest find for me today with spot on coords and a good size container to go with it! Obviously the lake suffers a bit over Summer, not a drop of water in it today. Thx Chooknchunk for placing a cache here, cheers

Caching between Beaufort and Skipton while staying in Ballarat for a couple of weeks. Good co-ords and a quick find and sign. Thanks chooknchunk.
Second cache today after leaving Lake Goldsmith, pulled up to see another vehicle at GZ. Was he a cacher, hmm probably not. So after he drove off, we set to work. A bit of uphill and down dale saw us retrieving the cache from a likely hide. Not sure it was hidden as intended, but it was barely visible from the parking spot.

Found today while out checking out the canola crops in the area.
Thanks chooknchunk for the adventure.
Thanks chooknchunk for the adventure.
Found on a three day caching wander with AussieM&M!!!! We centred our searches in the Ararat area but ventured further afield when some of our planned caches were either disabled or on very slushy dirt roads. Very cold and plenty of rain ….. although we seemed to dodge the worse of it!!! Far easier than I expected!!
A nice easy 2.5 terrain here today. Both Chris (CPwanderer) and Mary worked in tandem to retrieve and sign the cache here. Nice and easy to spot as we approached too.
The hardest part here was Mary managing to park without the Koleos sinking into one of the many giant puddles in the parking area.
We are so grateful that no tree climbing was required today.

Master 9’s footy was out at Skipton today (where it was very icy at 8am)! We decided to detour the long way home with a couple of extra kids in tow and collect a few caches. The kids made a mad dash here and the two extras were excited to find “treasure”! Many thanks for the cache.
