The container has been muggled, and Master B is no longer fascinated by the cars, so freeing up the spot for anyone who may be keen to place a new cache in the area.
I did enjoy my walk around the park but it did take a long time to reach this one. Appreciated the stands of native trees and stuff around. Anyway, Had a good look around before stretching the arm out and making an easy grab. Logbook is damp so my name may not last for long. Find #724
A quick find when I look in the right place Only two dogs walkers in the middle of the afternoon.
#19762. It took a bit of planning to work out what caches to find today (based on us needing differing numbers of finds, and me needing a multi). So, to start with I dropped Troodles off to do my airport ad lab, and then drove here to find a cache she had already found. Took a while to find as it wasn't where I had pre-found it (luckily the hint had been updated). TFTC.
On a three week trip to the lower south island with tmann421 hunting caches.
Enjoyed the trip around and the challenge of the finds.

Found on a circumnavigation of the park, not quite where i was headed with the GPSr but clicked and used Geosense. Lovely sunny afternoon for a walk and the park was surprisingly busy with kite flyers, dog walkers and kids running around. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.
Had to move along a bunch but still found. The book was wet so could not log. Tftc.
This cache is disabled due to the COVID-19 situation and alert level 4 in NZ to avoid the cross-contamination and to encourage people not to travel.
Any 'found' logs following 28 March will be deleted (unless your find is back dated).

Had a little bit of spare time after work today before needing to be at the airport so what better thing to do than find a couple of caches. Cache was a quick find today. Thanks for the cache.
This was quickly found on a walk around Avonhead Park. Quickly found. The log book was a soggy pulp, so we did some essential maintenance and replaced both the log, and the plastic bag. TFTC!
TFTC. It is slow going searching for caches in Avonhead Park as I keep finding people to talk to - 2 for the day and I have saved some for another time
Certainly no lack of cars to spot from here. We had been to collect a trailer load of firewood when I saw on phone a cache coming up. Of course had to go untill we could turn off and park and then walk back. Had never seen a bison done in camo so was fun to find. Thanks for this cache silverfern7.
We were not going to bother with trying to gather the 500 points required to complete the set of cache carnival souvenirs but we got chatting on Wednesday night and we realised that a weekend in Christchurch would soon accumulate the required points. A list was made of a few highly favourited caches and we decided to pick up a few easy traditionals if we happened to pass them.
We wandered over to this cache and GK soon had the cache in hand, we signed the log and returned it as we had found it. It was such a cold afternoon which we think is the reason that the park was so empty, only a few hardy souls and a couple of mad geocachers.
Thank you for the cache, thanks for the smiley.

Just couldn’t find this cache today. Even got KSI to help me hunt as she has found it before. I will put this on watch and be back for another look.
I decided on a mission to the Avonhead Park area today to grab a few caches. I ended up with eight including two puzzles and a multi so it was a pretty good day.
This was cache number four on the day and was an easy find with the hint.
There are so many dogs out walking today!

I'd spent a lovely morning at Willowbank with some young friends; came to this park to solve the puzzle and found this cache as I walked around to retrieve it.
I was almost standing on this cache when I stopped to check the distance.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, silverfern7.

Since we were already walking with daughter in the vicinity, it would have been rude not to stop by! I hope the cars were not watching us and paying attention to the road instead! TFTC!!
#3,186: Paper Smiley!
I came to this one on a wee walk around the nice park with Team_Gaters, searching for an ill-defined mystery cache that was published this morning. Had to dig around to make the find, but got there in the end.

Plenty of walkers and dogs pounding the paths. Managed to sneak in and out of the trees in between gaps of those passing by. The container was quickly spotted as the cars sped by. Tftc.
Out on a crappy evening doing a bit of cache love. Was in the neighbourhood and grabbed a few caches. Quick find at GZ. The weather was gross so we contacted a few cache buddies and headed down to the pub for a beer or two. Met a crazy dude and told him about geocaching.
Thanks for the cache silverfern7.

I have driven past so many times on the other side of that fence but today I finally had time to stop and walk across here. Felt a bit odd standing looking at all the cars zooming past through the fence but I wasn't there long and I cam away with a smilie. TFTC # 12,051
A busy road still at 7pm, glad to get it off my list of unfounds as it's been irking me each time I drive on the other side. Cheers
Lovely warm evening walk with the dog and family. TFTF. Glad the fence was dog and child proof!

Found on a dog walk. Well, after some plane spotting next to the airport, we turned to car spotting. Honestly, not nearly as interesting as plane spotting. Found the cache and moved on.

Not quite sure what the council is spraying to kill the grass, but it smells pretty bad. Also some trouble with the hands, so washing them was really essential. The cache was a quick find, also there was of course one muggle when coming out of the bush. From her look you know what they are thinking... but nothing can be done about it. TFTC
After I finished work today I went for a walk around this park finding a few caches. Could have been tricky but I spotted this one pretty quickly. TFTC, Biggles.
Thanks for the cache found by Hamish. Went for a walk with grand children on a wet cold morning. Down from Wanganui.
Having just landed in ChCh for the umpteenth time, having a bit of wait time hitchhiking meant I could do some caching, so I found this one in the dark easily. TFTC
A great day heading out today. Not many walkers and dogs out , a football game happening over there. After racing boats it was time to spot a car.. a nice quick find.

I think spring must be trying to make an appearance - I've been out caching three days in a row! Cleaning up my solved puzzle list (& grabbing a few Trads on the way). I dived straight to the GZ and immediately found... nothing. Widened the search with no better luck. I was making my way out half-heartedly checking again when I spotted It, in the first place I looked. I'd call that a successful camo!

Started having a look for this one today really couldn't get to some people started walking along the place and it looked like it was going to be a while before they left so I'll leave it for another day

Lovely weather, so a chance to go out caching with the baby. She was awake and ready to party - which made the driving hard given she hates the car seat, but luckily there were a few caches in the area that were a wee bit further from the car, so we went for a few walks, which luckily she enjoyed and let me cache! Yay!
I had 3 unfound in this park, so we did a wee bit of a triangle shaped walk, and got all three!
There were a few dogs in the park, and baby LOVES dogs, so she just spent the whole tim on my back, kicking her legs going 'OOH, OOH, OOH!!' it was so gorgeous!
Cache was a pretty quick find, which was good, as just after I'd put it back, a dog burst through the bushes!

Was on airport pick up duty so started out early to grab a cache or two or three "en route", yeah right.
Parked in the main car park for Avonhead Park (I wasn't keen to navigate around the maze of streets that is Avonhead to find the nearest access point) and had a pleasant stroll around the park's perimeter to GZ.
Cache was a quick find, with GZ discretely tucked away from the sporting muggles. TFTC.

Out for some quick caches close to one of our "second homes".
A quick find.

I'm back in town for a GGNZ Training tomorrow and KCN kindly picked me up from the airport and we headed so some around town that neither of had found.
Had fpund several caches in this park in the past, so it's good to see some more here. Definitely a good place to watch the cars zoom by. Typically I found the longest route from the path to the fence, meeting KCN as she came in from another direction. Wasn't quite what I was expecting but once at GZ was a quick find. Quick find at about 3:10pm, but not logging til July.

Out with RuruNZ for the afternoon and finding a few caches to increase the numbers which have been a little stagnant of late. Had to use my back up gps as the batteries in the main one have gone and no spares in the car. Even tried the phone so once at the location it was RuruNZ that found the cache just as I figured out where the compass was on the gps I was using.
Although right bedside a road it's clearly not a park and grab. I headed over from the other side of the park and made a quick find. Great spot though. All sorts going on for little ones e.g. cars, power lines, dogs on a walk, planes flying over. I can just imagine you with your kids enjoying this place. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
Seeing activity after I couldn't find it a couple of weeks ago, I headed out here in my lunch break, and ducked off the path while some older muggles were looking the other way. Happy to spot it this time!
Out on a cyclocache mission from Regents Park to the Airport to Avonhead and return. Nice quick find this time Approve - thanks silverfern7 for replacing the missing cache.
Lots of muggles with dogs around this morning but our timing arriving here was perfect, quick find. TFTC silverfern7

Back in action. The old cache seems to be gone - replaced it with the same type of container, just moved it about 1 meter to the right of where it was originally located.
Happy caching!
Happy caching!
Did a very thorough search of the area - looks like the cache is indeed gone. Will replace ASAP.
I checked this cache today after the DNF - it might have been muggled. Will have another look soon in case it has been misplaced.
With Cyclones Debbie and Cook now history items, today was fine enough to pump up the tires and head off on another cyclocache ride into the city. This was the 2nd cache attempted but it seems that my eyes are not sharp enough to spot this camoed bison, which given the hints should have been an easy find. I'll put this on watch..
A quick stroll to GZ. I won't get interested everytime I drive passed here any more. Cheers for the hide and quick find.
Not much planned for the weekend. Should have travelled to Hokitika or Kaikoura. Cleaned up a few caches around Christchurch instead.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

My son used to love watching cars while being pushed along in his pram. He is older now and drives himself around, but he still likes cars.
The cache was a quick find once I got a break in the dog walkers. TFTC.

Plenty of cars, one plane landing, numerous people running/walking with/without dogs- and one lovely little cache. Not bad! tftc
10 February 2017 16:18 spent more time dog watching than car spotting but that is probably a lot to do with age and sex of the watcher! [8 TFTC silverfern7
Had our Lunch on the seat nearby, then when the way was Muggle free it didn't take long to spot it..The Road was fairly busy today being a Holiday for some..TFTH
So many people out walking on a pleasant evening. Grabbed the cache on a break in the constant stream of dog walkers.
I have set myself a crazy geocaching challenge to find 4+ each calendar day. Today was a day that required more finds to meet this goal. Thankfully the weather was less hot than it had been over the passed couple of days. Ideal for geocaching. Sadly no one wanted to join my fun so I am geocaching Solo again. I still enjoy it.
I found another geocache near here so I drove over. It was too far to walk. Gosh that's a busy road.

Very windy day for a stroll across the park.....not many people about but imagine it is really busy on sports days. Tftc
Last week of the school holidays and a nice sunny nor'west morning.....boys bought their scooter & skateboard for a 'blat' around the paths. Quick find and sign. Wind picked up a bit briefly and blew them back down the path towards the car...nice! A few others out enjoying the morning. Cheers!
Lots of people walking their dogs but nicely spread out so we could find the cache sign the log and replace it between muggles. TFTC
Nice hide. Easy peasy at 8pm. I have the park to myself! Many thanks for placing the cache. I worked long hours today out of town so needed a nice quick one for my daily streak. Day #193
A lovely stroll on a bitter afternoon. Six year old skipped the whole way;--so good to be outside. Is this really summer?? Cameron spotted the hide and then lost interest!! Very hard to get swaps in there!!! Thanks.
