Stage 3 of our trip is a few days on the North Island of New Zealand. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining caches for us to find. Day 1 Quick find at the Airport when arrived before we headed down to Pirongia to say with friends. Day 2 I spotted a multi in Hamilton which took us on a tour of street art. So we headed into town for a stroll around. After lunch, a walk was in order so we stopped at Lake Ngaroto and walked and geocached around.
My first time visiting Lake Ngaroto...and I will be back; what a lovely walk.No problems finding this one! Thanks iammrwalker
Night walk around the lakeLittle cold and wet but very clear eveningTotal 3 found, 4 attempts on the walkTFTC
#14,957. At the conclusion of the nearby Rattll'n around for 20 years event in Te Awamutu, a group of us went rambling around Lake Ngaroto to attempt a number of newly published caches and other ones that had been around for a while. This was one of them. There were quite a few walkers, runners and cyclists on the track, but the GZ was fortunately all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log (as Team 20 or T20 as the group name for the new caches, and with individual names for existing caches).*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*

Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Found with Fisha1288 Sure is a large containerCheers, Cympull.
with my sunglasses on it was actually rather difficult to see this cache but when i took them off i realised it was right in front of me. found with flossieteacake. TFTC
We were cursing ourselves that we couldn't find a large container here, and then GeohoundandI took her glasses off and found it. It was a bit further away than we expected, and a shame a cache that size didn't have anything in it.
Out doing the Lake Ngaroto Loop on a scorcher day. This cache eluded me for a while, only saw the hiding spot when I retraced my steps and looked from a different angle. All good inside. Tftc!
Wow that was a massive container. Almost didnt look at it because at first appearance it looked white because so much of the paint has gone. Thankyou for the cache.
Our fifth for the day. Wasn't expecting such a large container but it is well hidden despite its size. TFTC
We stayed here overnight in our campervan. So we couldn’t leave this place without finding these ones!
TFTC!

Greetings from BC, Canada.
We are a family of 5 on vacation in New Zealand. Cachers in the family include BeesKnees34, SOB_4M, AlexBN16 and me. We have been enjoying the beautiful landscape and visiting some awesome locations.
Stopping along the way to grab some cool caches. We targeted high favourite, old caches, different cache types and some other caches along our routes.
Thanks to all the cache owners for creating, placing and maintaining these great geocaches!
Another nice quick find on our walk around the lake.
Thanks iammrwalker for the fun cache!

Lots of rain this morning, but when it got a bit lighter we set out to find our first New Zealand caches! Had lots of fun hiking around the lake and seeing new birds, and finding caches of course. Great place to camp and explore, TFTC!
Cutting a lap around the lake and learning about the area’s history.
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We are now in the North Island of New Zealand for two weeks seeing family and finding caches.

Added new log dried out n cleaned up. TFTC, Caching with Louf71.Over from the UK visiting family in Te Kuiti, exploring the north island and caching! So we're taking trips where we stay for a few days/week at a time before moving on to somewhere else or a few places before going back to spend time with family and back out again on another adventure. Having just done a trip to Cambridge and the Bay of Plenty we've gone back to Te Kuiti. Looking like it was going to be a nice day we set the plan to walk the lake with J's mum and sister. (Sorry for the very very late Log, between limited Data, some issues with our travel, some personal issues and a build up meaning the ADHD couldn't cope tackling these but finally getting logged Please forgive)
Stayed the night and took a stroll around the lake and cleaned up a few caches'Cheers
Sneaky one! Took a few minutes of avoiding muggles but worth it for the find! Thanks
Found the right place going by the hint and other logs but couldn't find the cache. Then my other saw the obvious container just over in the wet marsh about 20 meters away. He (very carefully) made his way over to it and retrieved it and put it back where we thought it should've been. So all good now.
Decided to book the caregiver for Junior cacher.....first time since the Covid-19 lockdown starting August 2021, and headed down here for a cycle and to collect a few caches about......
Continued on around the lake seeing more dead fish baking in the sun making the smell stronger........
Had to travel in this clockwise direction as we were cycling...as per the sign at the start....
