My first time visiting Lake Ngaroto...and I will be back; what a lovely walk.I wasn't sure what to expect from The Poo Fairy, but it all made sense as I approached the GZ.As was a theme for the afternoon, I looked in all the wrong places before finding the replacement cache. Thanks iammrwalker (and the community for replacing)#5336
We are back in New Zealand to have the holiday we should have had 4 years ago, Covid-19 put an abrupt end to that holiday.Out by myself today for a stroll around Lake Ngoroto. The weather when I set off was very miserable but it all brightened up when I got to the lake. It only started raining again when I was about 500m from the car.Greetings from the UK.Noticed that this cache is "Unavailable" on the cache page, but the cache has been replaced. Arrived at GZ and a quick find thanks to the name of the cache. The CO needs to update the cache page to show that the cache is available and change the description of the cache as it is no longer a screw top container.Log signed and cache replaced as found. Thanks to iammrwalker for placing.Find 1 of 6Total finds 3708
#14,966. At the conclusion of the nearby Rattll'n around for 20 years event in Te Awamutu, Waikato, a group of us went rambling around Lake Ngaroto to attempt a number of newly published caches and other ones that had been around for a while. This was one of them. There were quite a few walkers, runners and cyclists on the track, but the GZ itself was fortunately all quiet at the time of our visit. Found the replaced container. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log (as Team 20 or T20 as the group name for the new caches, and with individual names for existing caches).*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
Container and log had been replaced and was a very quick find here,Thanks for the placement and the smiley
After failing to spot this yesterday, I returned with rattll this morning. She had a hunt around where she'd found the cache earlier this year, also without success. No trace of the container at GZ. Could the CO check please?
Second cache while walking around the lake. GPS was wandering a little but we soon located the cache. TFTC
We stayed here overnight in our campervan. So we couldn’t leave this place without finding these ones!

Greetings from BC, Canada.
We are a family of 5 on vacation in New Zealand. Cachers in the family include BeesKnees34, SOB_4M, AlexBN16 and me. We have been enjoying the beautiful landscape and visiting some awesome locations.
Stopping along the way to grab some cool caches. We targeted high favourite, old caches, different cache types and some other caches along our routes.
Thanks to all the cache owners for creating, placing and maintaining these great geocaches!
Fairly quick find for us.
Thanks iammrwalker for the fun cache!

SC Freedom camping here for the weekend so we can walk around the Lake & do all the Caches. Thanks to all the CO's !
Haha. Not seen one of those signs before.
Just arrived here and more muggles approached. So it was time for a drink stop - already!
Once the coast was clear, it was a quick find.
I left a pet rock- a hippo.
Thanks for putting this here

12.55pm. Our last for the day. Took 2 hours 20 minutes to walk right round. That included the time looking, and talking, and eating. A nice hot walk. A favourite point to end on. We will come back when the two missing are replaced.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

Lots of rain this morning, but when it got a bit lighter we set out to find our first New Zealand caches! Had lots of fun hiking around the lake and seeing new birds, and finding caches of course. Great place to camp and explore, TFTC!
Cutting a lap around the lake and learning about the area’s history.
Funny sign!
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We are now in the North Island of New Zealand for two weeks seeing family and finding caches.
iammrwalker, I found Ngaroto#10 -The Poo Fairy today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Quick find gave quick clean up dried & had to dry log. Please always place logs back in bags & seal to keep them in good condition for future cachers. Caching with Louf71.Over from the UK visiting family in Te Kuiti, exploring the north island and caching! So we're taking trips where we stay for a few days/week at a time before moving on to somewhere else or a few places before going back to spend time with family and back out again on another adventure. Having just done a trip to Cambridge and the Bay of Plenty we've gone back to Te Kuiti. Looking like it was going to be a nice day we set the plan to walk the lake with J's mum and sister. (Sorry for the very very late Log, between limited Data, some issues with our travel, some personal issues and a build up meaning the ADHD couldn't cope tackling these but finally getting logged Please forgive)
Sorry! I hit my bro (reinhold bro neue Nummern wh Nummer 2) we found it just walking past! Hallo, geh weg
Found on my 6 weeks holiday. Previous logs helped me a lot, my GPS was quite wrong.
Decided to book the caregiver for Junior cacher.....first time since the Covid-19 lockdown starting August 2021, and headed down here for a cycle and to collect a few caches about......
Continued on around the lake seeing more dead fish baking in the sun making the smell stronger........

Lol, got how the cache got it's name once we got to GZ. My phone thought I said Poo Siri and I was told off by Siri for being rude!

Cute little Saturday stroll with a friend and my puppy. I’ve wanted to walk around this lake since I did a rowing regatta here 20 years ago. The track is awesome! TFTC
